Cornelius Vines scored 17 points and Hofstra beat Elon 70-46 on Monday night in the NIT Season Tip-Off consolation bracket.
Greg Washington and Nathaniel Lester each added 12 points for the Pride (3-2). Lester contributed seven rebounds, three blocks and three steals. The Pride won their second game in a row and have 51 wins in their last 61 games at the Mack Sports Complex.
The Pride generated three turnovers in the first three minutes and bolted to a 13-1 lead. Elon (2-3) had 17 turnovers for the game.
The Phoenix gave up their biggest point differential of the season and have lost three of their last four games.
Hofstra led 42-21 at halftime and went on a 15-5 run for a 57-26 lead with 12 minutes remaining. After a 12-0 Elon run, Vines hit two 3-pointers to extend the Pride lead to 63-38 with 6:18 left.
Devan Carter led the Phoenix with 10 points.
