President Trump welcomes French President Macron to Washington. The French president is the latest world leader to visit the White House for talks with Donald Trump. How to end the Ukraine war is expected to top the agenda. The president rattled Europe last week by sharply criticizing Ukraine’s leader and having U-S officials meet with Russian officials. Ahead of his visit, Macron said he plans to tell President Trump not to “be weak” in the face of Vladimir Putin.

Speaker Johnson Pushes for Budget Vote

Mon, Feb 24, 2025 at 9:52 pm

The Senate’s Plan B is in place. Now it’s up to Speaker Mike Johnson to deliver on Plan A – the “one big, beautiful bill” he’s been promising for weeks. Correspondent Bernie Bennett reports.

VERBATIM:
Speaking at an event held by Americans for Prosperity, Johnson stressed the importance of moving the “one, big beautiful bill” the House is pursuing so that a swath of 2017 tax cuts don’t expire without an extension.

The Rules Committee meets Monday to ready the House GOP budget plan for the floor as a group of holdouts concerned about deep cuts to Medicaid and other safety-net programs raise increasingly sharp concerns.

It amounts to a key inflection point for President Donald Trump’s domestic policy agenda, and GOP senators – who muscled through their own two-bill legislative blueprint early Friday morning – are eagerly watching to see if Johnson can finally unify his conference and move forward with his own plan.

Senate Budget Chair Lindsey Graham says If Johnson can pull it together, “I will be his biggest fan.”

Why do Americans homeschool?

Why do Americans homeschool?

VERBATIM:  The Pew Research Center has been asking that question and the answers run the gamut.  A lot of moms and dads say they teach their kids at home because they are concerned about the environment at their local school while others want to direct the moral education of their children.  Other parents want to specifically give their youngsters religious instruction which isn’t popular in traditional schools.  About three percent of all American kids are homeschooled.  MH SRN NEWS.
