Even with the tumult over tariff news last week, at least one poll indicates popularity for President Trump.
The results come from the Daily Mail, surveying over 1-thousand registered voters surveyed between March 31 & April 3, including the day after President Trump’s “Liberation Day” announcement. The poll finds President Trump’s approval at 53% …up four points from the week prior. This figure includes a remarkable a 13 point jump in the age group 18-29, a 17 point increase among black voters… and … yes..even… a 6 percent increase in favorability among Democrats & Independents. As for the tariffs themselves, most are still are unsure, but along three different lines, there is an overall one-to-2 percent edge of approval over disapproval for President Trump’s moves.

Trump “not going to bend” on tariffs despite market crash
President Trump shows no signs of easing his tariffs plan despite deep losses in global financial markets.
With markets crashing, the president doubled down on his trade policy, writing on social media that he “is not going to bend.” But some influential financial leaders are worried about the potential consequences. JPMorgan CEO Jamie Dimon warned of higher inflation and billionaire investor Bill Ackerman, who is pro-Trump, said “we are heading for a self-induced, economic nuclear winter.”

A House Republican Calls for Safeguards on Defense Calls
WASHINGTON – A House Republican calls for ‘safeguards’ to be used after a war plan text chat was leaked to the public. Details from correspondent Bernie Bennett.
VERBATIM: GOP Congressman Mike Lawler of New York called for “safeguards” to be implemented to ensure the leaking of war plans doesn’t happen again after a journalist was included in a Signal group chat discussing them.
Lawler said Monday in a post on the social platform X, “Classified information should not be transmitted on unsecured channels – and certainly not to those without security clearances, including reporters. Period.”
National Security Council spokesperson Brian Hughes confirmed the messages in the chat appear to be “authentic,” adding that the success of the attack on the Houthis shows there were no threats to U.S. troops or national security.

A British pro-lifer is convicted
VERBATIM: 64-year-old Livia Tossici-Bolt stood silently outside an abortion clinic in Bournemouth holding a sign that read “Here to talk, if you want”. But that was enough to get her arrested for violating England’s new buffer zone law that bars any pro-life expression within 500 feet of a clinic. Bolt has now been convicted and ordered to pay 20,000 pounds in court costs. Pro-life advocates say the buffer zones are a clear violation of free speech and religious expression. MH SRN NEWS
