WASHINGTON (Reuters) - MSNBC projected that Republican Representative Jeff Flake won the U.S. Senate seat for Arizona in Tuesday's election.
Flake, who has been a member of the House of Representatives since 2003, defeated Richard Carmona, a former U.S. Surgeon General. He fills the seat vacated by Republican Senator Jon Kyl.
