WASHINGTON (Reuters) - Fox News projected that Democratic Senator Sherrod Brown won the U.S. Senate seat for Ohio in Tuesday's election.
Brown, a one-term incumbent, is one of the more liberal members of the Senate and campaigned extensively to support President Barack Obama's re-election in his important battleground home state. He defeated 35-year old Josh Mandel, the Ohio state treasurer.
