NEW YORK (AP) — New York's cultural landscape is returning to normalcy in the wake of the superstorm Sandy. While Broadway theaters and midtown TV studios were back in business within about two days of the storm, much of downtown New York -- including Chelsea galleries, off-Broadway theaters and Lower East Side concert halls -- only got power back late Saturday. City film officials have also begun issuing permits for film shoots in exterior locations for the first time since the storm.Uptown, Carnegie Hall hopes to reopen for concerts tomorrow after being shut down for a week because of a storm-damaged hanging crane on West 57th Street. The weekly grosses of Broadway theaters will be announced later today. Many off-Broadway theaters -- which were dark for days -- are offering discounted tickets trying to lure back audiences.
