WASHINGTON (Reuters) - President Barack Obama said on Monday the United States and Georgia were exploring the possibility of a free trade agreement to expand commerce and strengthen trade relations.

"We discussed how we can continue to strengthen the strong bilateral relationship between our two countries," Obama said during a White House visit with Georgian President Mikheil Saakashvili.

Obama said the two countries had agreed to hold a dialogue about the subject "including the possibility of a free trade agreement."
