House Republicans set 9:45 p.m. meeting on budget

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - Republicans in the House of Representatives are scheduled to huddle at 9:45 EDT to discuss the status of budget negotiations, Representative Jeb Hensarling said on Friday.

Hensarling, a member of the House Republican leadership, said a spending-cut deal has not yet been reached. Congress and President Barack Obama face a midnight deadline to reach a deal before U.S. government funding runs out.
