Petraeus: Decision near on troops to Afghanistan

The commander of the U.S. Central Command says a decision is near on sending more American forces to Afghanistan.

Gen. David Petraeus spoke to CNN on Wednesday shortly before heading into a meeting with President Barack Obama and his war council about a new strategy in the 8-year-old Afghan conflict.

Petraeus said the question of an increase in troops would be discussed at the meeting. He said, "I think we are indeed nearing a decision on this very important topic."

The White House says that Obama, who leaves Thursday for an extended trip to Asia, has not made up his mind and is unlikely to announce a decision for several weeks.

BLOOD ON HS HANDS
I find it interesting that on the same page ,side by side are two articles about the Afghan war....you know , the "good one". This one ,naturally and the other about the increased US casualties in this conflict. Hmmmmm...any connection? Also there was a news article below that stated that the 'annointed one' has rejected all plans set before him without changes. Now this mook has been campaigning for the better part of 2 years , and still is by the way, this was a major part of his campaign. Why is it that 10 months into his presidency he has done nothing despite the warnings and intel from his own commanders on the ground. Maybe he should go to Afghanistan and have a beer summit with the taliban , or whatever beverage is appropriate for that culture...I am sure he wouldn't want to offend his Muslim terrorists ..I mean brothers. This is beyond disgraceful. You "52% 'ers are directly responsible. Shame on you .I have a bridge to sell you if your interested.

Disgrace
This administration is despicable and is now using their shill, Eikenberry, to generate more excuses for their inaction. We're about to give away all that our youth have paid for in blood. Obama is a hand wringer, surrounded by hand wringers and this country is going down the sewer at warp speed.
