Military observes moment of silence at Fort Hood

Military, friends and families have observed a moment of silence at Fort Hood, Texas and other U.S. military bases as a show of respect for the victims of the shooting rampage.

Secretary of Defense Robert Gates had declared a moment of silence for U.S. military forces worldwide on Friday afternoon.

Dozens of people haved gathered at Fort Hood and bowed their heads as part of the moment of silence.

Army Chief of Staff George Casey and Army Secretary John McHugh also arrived at the base Friday.

WASHINGTON (AP) _ Secretary of Defense Robert Gates has declared a moment of silence for U.S. military forces worldwide as a show of respect for the Fort Hood victims.

The moment of silence is planned for 2:34 p.m. EST Friday _ exactly 24 hours after the shooting in Texas. All U.S. forces worldwide are being asked to participate in the show of respect.

A spokesman says Gates has no immediate plans to travel to Fort Hood.

Army Chief of Staff George Casey and Army Secretary John McHugh arrived at the base Friday.

Yes, you are right, the majority THAT VOTED did say that. The results to date:
--Deficits that will double the country's debt in 4 years,
--A passive foreign policy that courts Hugo Chavez and disses Gordon Brown,
--An unemployment rate in the under 25 crowd that is about 50% and 17% overall (counted the way you guys counted Bush's in 2001)
--Terrorists being imported into the US to be tried as civilians in court
--A President who continues to blame the last administration instead of standing up to fix it
--A fixation on horrendous cap and tax and health care future costs in addition to those above.

How's that change working out? I say
Barack Hussein Obama, hmmm, hmmm, hmmm
