Will Congress pass Obamacare by the end of the year?

House Republican leader John Boehner says the GOP wants moderates in the party and calls the special election for a New York congressional seat an unusual situation.

The Republican nominee in an upstate New York district dropped out of the race Saturday, just days ahead of the Tuesday election. Moderate GOP candidate Dierdre Scozzafava (skoh-zuh-FAH'-vuh) had been losing support to the Conservative Party candidate, Doug Hoffman, a former Republican.

Hoffman drew endorsements from former vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin, Minnesota Gov. Tim Pawlenty and other prominent Republicans.

John Boehner says the GOP needs a broad group of people who share conservative values.

Boehner spoke Sunday on CNN's "State of the Union."

If GOP goes "moderate" it will go away
Libertarian, Conservative and Reform parties will pick up the slack.

The GOP and DNC are not the only parties in this country. They may want us to think so. They would like to keep everyone afraid to pick "3rd" parties for fear that it would through the election to the "other side". Truth is, if the GOP candidate is liberal, then the GOP is the "other side" in that race.

It is not about GOP vs DNC, it is about Conservative vs Liberal.

Moderate has become just another word for liberal.

If the GOP doesn't wake up, then maybe we should put it to sleep.

If they keep this up, I think we should stop donating to them and donate to the national Libertarian and Conservative parties instead.

With big enough names and enough money any party can win congressional elections, and governorships. The white house is all about the individual candidate. We as a nation get to know them before we vote.

It has finally become possible to through the two party system overboard.

If the GOP wakes up, fine, that will be a much easier way to win; but, if not, we don't actually need them anymore. Same goes for the DNC.

If the GOP picks moderates......
then we definitely need a third party, a strong conservative party that will lure disenchanted democrats and repucblicans as well as independents. The GOP should understand it is the liberals and so called "moderates" that have gotten us in trouble. We need fewer radical social progressives and more people with common sense and a love of country and the Constitution.
