BAD FISH: Smoked salmon tainted with salmonella bacteria has sickened hundreds of people in the Netherlands and the United States, sparking a major recall, health authorities said.
ORIGINS: The National Institute for Public Health and the Environment said the salmon has been traced to the Dutch company Foppen.
COSTCO: In the U.S., Foppen sells only through Costco. The wholesale club has pulled the items from shelves and blocked products from scanning at registers, and will call customers who purchased the items to notify them of the recall.
