WASHINGTON (AP) — Republican presidential hopeful Herman Cain says the Internet ad featuring his campaign manager smoking conveys a message that he wants to let "people be people."Cain, a colon cancer survivor, says he doesn't smoke and that the ad wasn't intended to suggest that smoking was cool. The ad, which has had close to 1 million clicks on Cain's website, features campaign manager Mark Block taking a deep drag from a cigarette and slowly exhaling.Fellow cancer survivor Bob Schieffer, the moderator of CBS' "Face the Nation," chided Cain for running such an ad and said Cain should raise the level of debate as a top candidate.Schieffer pressed Cain to urge young people not to smoke, and Cain did that during the interview.
