WASHINGTON (Reuters) - Top chief executives from the U.S. manufacturing sector will attend a meeting hosted by Vice President Joe Biden in Washington on Wednesday, a White House spokesman said on Tuesday.

Leaders from Dow Corning Corp <DOWCR.UL>, Procter & Gamble <PG.N>, Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co <GT.N> and others will attend the meeting about the future of the manufacturing sector, the spokesman said.

"The Vice President will discuss this Administration's commitment to a strong manufacturing sector as a vital part of both the American economy and the rebuilding of the American middle class," the White House said in a statement.

Other leaders attending the meeting include Secretary of Commerce Gary Locke, Secretary of Labor Hilda Solis, and Lawrence Summers, director of the White House National Economic Council.
