Calkins Media has named Michael Jameson president and general manager of its Greater Philadelphia Media division.
In his new post, Levittown, Pa.-based Calkins says Jameson will have overall responsibility of the Bucks County Courier Times, the Burlington County Times, The Intelligencer of Doylestown and the website phillyburbs.com. He starts March 29.
Calkins announced the appointment Wednesday.
Jameson comes to Calkins from E.W. Scripps Co., where he was president and publisher of the Anderson Independent-Mail in South Carolina. He also spent six years as president and CEO of Tucson Newspapers.
Jameson is a native of Boston and has worked in the newspaper industry for more than 30 years, beginning in 1979 as an advertising representative at the Gloucester Daily Times in Massachusetts.
He is a graduate of the University of Massachusetts.
