SERVICE FIRMS GROW: U.S. service firms expanded in February at the fastest pace in a year, helped by a rise in new orders and healthy job growth.
THE READING: The Institute for Supply Management said its non-manufacturing index rose to 57.3, the third straight increase. Any reading above 50 signals growth.
BROAD GROWTH: The trade group of purchasing managers surveys 18 industries that represent roughly 90 percent of U.S. companies, 14 of which grew in February. Among them: real estate groups, transportation and warehousing companies, construction firms, hotels and restaurants and information technology firms.
