Chemical company Martech Research plans to expand its operations in South Carolina's Lee County, creating 60 new jobs.
Gov. Nikki Haley said Thursday that Martech Research will spend nearly $5 million to expand the operation in Bishopville.
Martech has purchased a new building and will use it to handle the company's manufacturing and warehouse operations. The facility will be used in the production of biological, synthetic and natural chemical products.
Hiring is expected to begin later this month. The company plans a ribbon-cutting ceremony in the spring.
