West Virginia has released more than $15 million in federal grants for 23 infrastructure projects across the state.

Gov. Earl Ray Tomblin announced the release of the Small Cities Block Grant funds Monday. The funds come from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development and are managed by the state Development Office's Community Development Division.

The funding includes money for water and sewer projects that will serve about 27,300 residents.

Projects getting more than $1 million in grants are in the communities of Delbarton, Fairview, Harman, Hinton, Paw Paw, Rosedale, Salem and portions of Logan and Wayne counties.
