METALS FALL: Metals ended the week lower. Copper for December delivery fell 2.4 cents, or nearly 1 percent, to close at $3.5645 per pound. It ended the week down 4 percent. Other metals also closed down.
EUROPEAN DOUBTS: Metals rallied last month on hopes that European finance ministers could contain the region's financial problems. But uncertainty returned this week because of political turmoil in Greece and a G-20 summit that ended with no pledge to help Europe.
GOLD RISES: Gold was the lone exception. Gold prices often rise during times of economic turmoil. Gold for December delivery closed up 1 percent for the week
