Zelensky views Trump as key to ending Ukraine-Russia war

Sat, Feb 15, 2025 at 7:07 am
Ukrainian President Zelensky views President Trump as key to ending the Ukraine-Russia war, but has some concerns. Zelensky welcomed a phone call from President Trump, but later said it was “not pleasant” that Trump first called Russia’s Vladimir Putin about negotiations. Zelensky also said he would not accept any agreements that do not include his country in the talks. The Ukrainian leader reportedly told the White House that Putin doesn’t want peace, and he said will only agree to meet in person with the Russian leader after a common plan is negotiated by Donald Trump.

Senate Votes To Advance Gabbard To Final Vote For DNI

Tue, Feb 11, 2025 at 4:55 am
Tulsi Gabbard is one step closer to becoming the top U.S intelligence official. Bob Agnew reports  The Senate on Monday advanced the nomination of Tulsi Gabbard to serve as Director of National Intelligence toward a final confirmation vote later this week. She won by a 56-42 vote after  winning support from reluctant GOP sebators who feared she might be too lax toward security breaches, after she refused to describe former. NSA contractor Edwin Snowden as a traitor, for his massive document leak. Gabbard is expected to win confirmation later this week when the Senate holds a final vote.

Trump Transgender Policies Challenged in Court

Sat, Feb 8, 2025 at 4:11 am

Two Trump administration executive orders targeting the rights of transgender and nonbinary people are facing fresh court challenges. Reporter Bernie Bennett has more.

VERBATIM: Three Democratic states sued Friday over the order to ban federal funding for gender-affirming care for transgender people under 19. It’s at least the second challenge to the policy that was put forth late last month.
Trump signed an executive order last month directing federally run insurance programs, including Medicaid and TRICARE for military families, to exclude coverage for such care. It also calls on the Department of Justice to pursue litigation and legislation to oppose it.
Trump also signed an executive order on Wednesday intended to ban transgender athletes from participating in girls’ and women’s sports.

More bad news from India

VERBATIM:  Persecution of Christians in the giant country is surging.  A new report from United Christian Forum reveals that an average of two attacks on Christians took place every day in 2024 — 834 in all — and those are just the ones that were reported.  Religious freedom advocates are urging the global community to take notice, as it has begun to recognize a similar situation in Nigeria.  Experts say without pressure from outside nations, India will never protect its Christians.  MH SRNNNEWS
