A British metal products supplier is opening a plant in Midway, creating at least 200 new jobs.

Gov. Sonny Perdue announced Monday that Firth Rixson Limited will open a 200,000-square-foot facility in the small south Georgia coastal town. The plant will be a closed die forging operation to provide components to the aerospace industry.

The company hopes to draw from the nearby Savannah campus of Georgia Tech.

The Sheffield, England-based company operates 11 facilities in North America, Europe and Asia.
