The Sahara hotel-casino on the Las Vegas Strip is mothballing rooms in two of its towers for the winter season due to low demand.
Los Angeles-based SBE Entertainment owns the 1,720-room property, which first opened in 1952.
The hotel says through a publicist that the hotel's two oldest towers will remain shuttered until business improves.
Spokeswoman Verena King says the casino and main Tangiers tower remain open and reservations are still being taken.
King says she doesn't know if staff members will face layoffs.
The announcement comes a day after Binion's Gambling Hall & Hotel in downtown Las Vegas closed its 365 guest rooms and cut 100 jobs as a cost-cutting move. Binion's casino remains open.
