Senator Ted Cruz [R-TX] this week introduced the IVF Protection Act, along with Senator Katie Britt [R-Ala] of Alabama, where the state Supreme Court earlier this year ruled that frozen embryo’s are children, and thus protected by Alabama’s wrongful death statute. The ruling has left Cruz and other Republicans vulnerable to what Britt calls “fear mongering” by critics who accuse Republicans of planning to impose new nationwide restrictions on IVF services.

Nikki Haley to vote for Donald Trump for president

Nikki Haley will be voting for Donald Trump in the November election. The former GOP governor and presidential candidate clashed with Trump during primaries and she did not endorse him when she suspended her campaign. But speaking here in Washington, Haley announced that she will be voting for Trump. However, she warned him not to ignore her supporters. Haley said the former president “would be smart to reach out to the millions” of people who supported her candidacy and “not assume that they’re just going to be with him.”

A victory for free speech in California
VERBATIM: Libraries across the nation allow all kinds of groups to use their conference rooms — even drag queens who read picture books to children. But last summer when Moms For Liberty tried to host a discussion of transgenderism in sports at a Yolo County library, officials shut them down. Alliance Defending Freedom threatened a lawsuit and the library system has backed down, agreeing not to violate the free speech rights of conservatives or Christians.
