ROSES ARE RED VIOLETS ARE BLUE
KARL ROVE JUST SAVED THIS COUNTRY
BY UNITING ME AND YOU
Over the weekend well-funded Republicans announced an effort to protect Senate incumbents from Tea Party challengers, such as Ted Cruz and Marco Rubio. The “architect” behind the plan is establishment titan Karl Rove, the man who choreographed the steady erosion of conservative policies under the eight years of George W. Bush and contributed to GOP election disasters ever since. Which begs the question: why does anyone listen to Karl Rove and his cohorts anymore?
Unfortunately, there are a number of people in the Republican Party, including many donors, who do. That’s the problem. If we keep listening to them, we’re going to lose another presidential election
The current conventional wisdom in Washington is that thetea party is responsible for Republican defeats. But consider that under establishment-backed candidates, from George H.W. Bush to Bob Dole to Mitt Romney, Republicans have failed to win a majority of the popular vote in five of the last six presidential elections. What these candidates shared, besides establishment backing, was the complete lack of a coherent political philosophy. That made it easy for the opposition to paint them any way they chose. And circling around every one of those disasters were professional consultants like Mr.Rove.
In 2012, Rove’s political machine, American Crossroads, poached almost $80 million from donors across America in order to lose [nearly]every single race in which they were engaged.
Mr. Rove is the last person who should be trying to offer solutions for the Republican Party to regain strength. The reason why our party continues to lose elections and popularity is because of those like Karl Rove who are continually trying to turn us into a loose version of the Democratic Party where a select few at the top hold the power by controlling the purse strings.
The failure of Karl Rove’s big-government Republicanism as evidenced by No Child Left Behind, the auto bailout, Medicare Part D, and that exquisite phrase to justify the $700 billion-dollar bailout of Wall Street(“I’ve abandoned free market principles to save the free market,” Bush said),should be plain enough. Instead of curbing the scope and size of Government, the Bush administration expanded the control of the establishment and their rein thus sentencing the Republican Party to a decade of Democrat rule without parole. It wasn’t the tea party that advanced these policies, which alienated voters; in fact, the tea party was created in reaction to them.
The foundation of the Tea Party is based on the principles of limited federal government, the protection of individual freedoms and choices, personal responsibility and accountability, returning political power to the states and the people and most important a free market system.
The Republican Party should be the party of the patriot, the taxpayer, and the legal gun owner. The Party of the mom who works all day then prays all night and the father who tends to the fields to feed not only his family but his neighbor as well. A Republican voter should be found volunteering at a church soup kitchen, encouraging creativity and productivity in our children or proudly packing their bags to serve weekend duty at their local National Guard Armory. The Republican Party should be the place where all legal citizens are free to be capitalist and have the opportunity to achieve their goals and dreams.
So why should we care that Karl is going to take out the Tea Party? The better question should be Why Haven’t We Taken Out Karl Rove from the Republican Party? Fox News wised up after this election night meltdown, so when will the Republican Party do the same?
If there’s anything that’s enviable about the Democrats it’s that they promote their winners and bury their losers. If Karl Rove were a Democrat he’d be buried a decade ago.
I will tell you where you will not find a true Republican;sitting behind a desk at a posh PAC office taking donations to support moderates who agree to let their strings be pulled by a puppet master named Karl Rove.
