'Fair, Balanced, and Interactive'

When Fox News first started, declaring itself "fair and balanced," I appreciated the self-aware sense of ironic humor this plainly partisan outfit displayed. Refreshing and funny. Never in a million years would I have imagined that the network--or anyone else--would take the slogan seriously. But here we are, little more than a decade later, and the network and some folks have found the temerity to say just that without turning red from embarrassment. I'll just keep laughing, thank you.

I TITLED THE FIRST MESSAGE I WROTE AS "FOX NEWS RATINGS" BUT THEN DID NOT ADD THE FACT TO THE FIRST MESSAGE! SEE BELOW.

FOX NEWS RATINGS RUN CONSISTENTLY ABOVE THE TOTAL OF ALL OF THE OTHER NEWS BROADCASTERS PUT TOGETHER! DAY AFTER DAY AND MONTH AFTER MONTH! THEY MUST BE DOING SOMETHING RIGHT! ALONG WITH THAT SEVERAL OF THE BROADCASTERS FROM TIME TO TIME MENTION ABOUT HOW COMPLETELY SUBJECTS ARE RESEARCHED. ABC, CBS, NBC, PBS, MSNBC ALL USE COMMENTATORS WHO RESEARCH NOTHING.

I AGREE WHOLEHEARTEDLY WITH "YOU REPORT/WE DECIDE" AND KNOW FOR A FACT THAT "BUT, SHE'S RIGHT" IS JUST AS WRONG. SHE IS EITHER A LEFT-WING AGITATOR OR SHE HAS NOT REALLY WATCHED FOX! I HAVE WATCHED FOX FOR THE PAST 8 YEARS, OCCASIONALLY SWITCHING TO ONE OF THE EVENING NEWS PROGRAMS. I HAVE YET TO BE ABLE TO SET THROUGH A COMPLETE ONE OF THE LATTER! THEY ARE DULL, BORING, AND UNINFORMED ON THE TRUTH!

AS FOR MS. DUNN, THE EASIEST WAY TO GET PROPAGANDA OUT IS TO USE THE METHOD SHE DESCRIBED AND ADD OR SUBTRACT WHAT YOU CARE TO. THESE PEOPLE ARE TRULY A BUNCH OF LOONS! FROM BO ON DOWN!

The Wall Street Journal is owned by the same company as Fox News.

If being anti-communist, anti-socialist and anti-Marxist is racist -- does that mean all people of color are communist, socialist and Marxist?

Because Americans need to be spoon fed manipulated information or they won't pay attention and watch the commercials for life insurance or farming tractors.(you can always tell the demographics of a show by who advertises)

When I want news, I watch the BBC or go online.

People on the left are so accustomed to being fed slanted news that they have come to accept it as fair and balanced. When presented with news that doesn't fit their little world order they begin to short out. They're blind and brainwashed.

I defy any fair person to prove an instance of unfairness in FOX News reporting.I rely on them to give me a straight down the middle report of positive and negative news.

The reason many believe FOX is unfair is because none of the other news shows have ANY negative news about the government and liberal causes.There is rarely a positive news story about the other side.

The talk shows are different.They lean right,I freely admit that,but they almost all have left wing people on those shows,also,as guests.You rarely see right wingers on the other stations in any capacity.

Pew Research studies show fox news is the most fair and balanced.

We also know Fox News allows Obama's Administration Officals to come on the air and correct any misinformation.

So Far the Administration has not come onto Fox news and correct any reporting.

They have gone onto the other networks and corrected ABC, NBC, CBC, MSNBC, CNN for their errors.

I jump channels frequently to avoid long ads. MSNBC and CNN are not news channels at all. I do enjoy Lou Dobbs on CNN for his balanced approach to national and international news. As for interviewers, I think Dobbs is as good as any, along with Charlie Rose while many on Fox are very poor. O’Reilly rarely allows a guest to complete a sentence and Hannity is such a bully, I’m surprised anyone with a mind would appear on his program. With these comments aside, Fox is the only source for uncensored news unless you go to print where the Wall Street Journal is the only one for me. My local paper, the Austin American Statesman, is a small edition of the New York Times. It loses money too, as well as failing to report all the news.

One need only watch FOX for 10 minutes or so before the slant is visible. Doesn't matter if it's an opinion show or the news. There may be a couple of anchors with some credibility, but for the most part, FOX distorts the truth at best.

The video that blows her out of the water was filmed in May when she told a group of graduating High School seniors that her 2 favorite political philosophers were Chairman Mao and Mother Theresa!

What if she'd said that her favorite philosopher was Hitler or Mussolini?

As a small-town reporter I've come to the realization that everyone I talk to about any story has a perspective.

Years ago I had a conversation with the director of the local chamber of commerce and she told me I should not write anything about any of the negative things happening around town, it would hurt the town's chance of attracting new business.

I told her that was her job, not mine. My job was to report what happened.

Obama is just like that woman, he wants to control the news. I think her motives were a little more pure, she did it honestly believing she was helping the town.
