Proud Liberal writes about Bill Gates and Michael Moore: "It is the country, the total country, and our economy, our total economy, which made these guys rich. Without our total country and economy they'd just be smart guys by themselves on an island."

Proud I don't know if you were trying to be serious here of if this was supposed to be some kind of joke, but either way it is bad wrong. Michael Moore has become rich playing off the ignorance of Liberals who will pay to go watch his ridiculous running down of America in his films.
Bill Gates became rich by developing software that made the very PC you wrote your garbage on affordable and available to people world wide.

It is time for U.S. Citizens to express their sovereignty to a Federal Government that has lost the real meaning for its existence. There is very little difference between Democrat, Republican or Independent as they are represented in our government. We need patriots not politicians and statespersons who work for the people, not party line loyalists. There is no better way to express that sovereignty than the phrase, "We will not comply." We will not comply with your unconstitutional laws nor with your subversion and perversion of our life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. That simple phrase can rock the very illegal premise by which our politicians have sought to guide the United States for many decades. That premise is...

"Is she concerned with the 40,000 who die every year from lack of insurance?
How about the millions who lose coverage every month?"
Statement #1: Included in that forty thousand are the thousands of young people who, thinking that they are invincible (like my twenty-one son) would rather keep the money they would spend for insurance and do with it as they wish!
And no matter how POTUS Obama says otherwise (don't forget he was caught in a lie) the tens of thousands of illegal aliens ARE included in that number!
Statement #2: We're speaking thousands, NOT millions, here ... so, get your facts straight. Have they not heard about the C.O.B.R.A. Act? They can retain their coverage from one to two years,...

You are incorrect about Social Security. Wagee-earners HAVE been paying the correct amount into SSI. The real problem is the "elected elite" have been spending that which did not get paid out in benefits. the overage. "We, the People" have a stack of IOUs, nota stack of maney. Social security will be paying out MORE than they take in in just a few years.
============
Those IOUs are US Bonds, what else. Can you imagine having a billion $100 bills stored in Ft. Knox? What good would that do anyone.
You may be paying the amount you are required to pay, but most everyone realizes it is not enough. Those billions of $s are in...

ObamaCare is a perfect program to be handled by a non-profit foundation. Instead of it receiving government funds, it needs to be set-up as a charitable foundation, because that is exactly what it is. The president's plan calls for subsidizing insurance premiums for those that can't afford it because they have no or insufficient income (Charity). ObamaCare would also prohibit insurance company's from denying coverage for those with pre-existing conditions, which drives up cost to the insurance companies and will increase premiums, forcing more into the category of not being able to afford private insurance, thus requiring others to assist in paying the premiums (Charity).
I'm sure if Pres. Obama called upon his staunchest...

Right on Retired Geek! But don't expect the touchy-feely group to understand your thoughts or ideas. They just don't get it.....all they care about is having their supposed god-icon impose their will on everyone! It's not about healthcare, not about their big feely intentions for anyone, it's all about power over other peoples' lives. And since they are the folks who support killing 50 millions unborn innocents so far.... and go out to protest the capital punishment for convicted murderersm they really aren't the people we want in control of universal healthcare.....well I take that back, there isn't anyone I want in control of "universal healthcare" ....thank goodness for other people like yourself, we will carry on the fight and WIN it!

Remember. . . power corrupts, absolute power corrupts absolutely. Our forefathers designed 3 branches of government, not to strengthen government but to control government and to keep any segment from becoming too powerful. Pres. Obama simply does not have the depth to accomplish much. For instance; what did he do besides talk to acomplish his health bill? He reminded me of Star Trek's Next Generation Picard, "Make it so." And everyone else goes to work. He did not understand that he was the only one interested in this idea and he had to lead the charge from in front, not from behind. You can pull cooked sphagetti but you cannot push it and Congress really is a bunch of overdone pasta.

Call something garbage and refuse to put forth any substantive argument, gotta love it. BTW, I made no claims to be a christian, merely that I am familiar with the doctrine.
In regards to being compelled to pay for wars, if you weren't so constitutionally illiterate you would know that you shouldn't be anymore than anyone should be compelled to provide for other people's welfare.
If you actually bothered to read my earlier postings you would see that the US constitution is a legally binding document to which all parties must adhere. In the 1812 war some New England states refused to send their militia as they recognized it to be a war of aggression, rather than for common defense. Lincoln ruined it for us by refusing to...

The Democrat Party smells victory. They want the whole enchilada. If they can own our healthcare...they own us.
Cap & Trade would just make it easier to tax us into oblivion. Everything we used to exist would have a usage tax. That is the idea.
If Republicans were attempting to take control of the the country and its economy as Democrats are,there would be no end to the bad press we would get. As it is,all's well since they're all in this together.

An American Citizen is NOT an ethnicity, NOT an economic class, NOT a religion, but rather a 'Noble Idea' of God given rights of Individual liberty and the pursuit of self-determination.
The concept that for an Individual to be 'Truly Free', that Individual must grant the same 'Freedom, Rights and Protections' to every other Individual Citizen - no more - no less.
Our American motto is 'E Pluribus Unum' which describes an action: Many uniting into one. An accurate translation of the motto is "Out of many, one".
The Legal Individual American Citizen 'IS' the only minority in America, NOT 'Collectivist Groups' of ethnicity, gender, sexual preference nor any other group that seeks to divide us rather than 'Unite'...

That you both invoke Jesus either in your replies or your names here is pitiful. What, i can be compelled to pay for the military, for wars, for torture of prisoners and for the deaths of thousands of innocents, but you can't be compelled to pay for universal healthcare?? That benefits everyone regardless of income, or as Alive says, whether they are the "cream" or not? And you use your Christianity as part of your argument?? Ha ha ha. I've got very sour news for both of you. Whatever you think you are, you are not Christians. You will be spending eternity in hell with unbelievers like me, where perhaps we can continue this discussion. Adios.

So you are saying that I can be compelled to pay for the military, for foreign invasions, for the torture of prisoners and for the deaths of thousands of innocents. But you can't be compelled to pay for universal healthcare, for healthcare that would cover everyone, regardless of their ability to pay? And what, you defend that by quoting Jesus at me?????? Ha ha ha. Good luck explaining that at the pearly gates my friend. You're going to be spending eternity in hell with the unbelievers like me, because no matter what you think you are, you certainly are not a Christian.

Barack Obama 'May' not think he is God or the Messiah, but it seems like he wants others to think he is God or the Messiah.

I NEVER said there aren't people who can't catch a break no matter what. It's called 'life'. That some work two or three jobs is also 'life'. Even those wages add up if one is wise in managing money. Adults who take responsibility for themselves know you do what you have to do in order to make life work. You ask for nothing from any man, much less take from him. Yet we Americans are the most generous people on earth. How dare you impugn that by saying we aren't giving enough? How much is enough, Andrew?
As to pittance-how is that defined? By what you do, or where you live? Here where we live, DH's salary is a comfortable one. In San Fransicko, we'd be hard pressed to pay the rent. So I ask again, how do you figure 'pittance'?...

So rather than pay an tax towards any kind of healthcare for the whole of society, we should only give to charity? So by that i take it you are for the end of medicare, medicaid and the va? Because none of those are charities. All are paid for by taxes. Does that mean that I also get to prevent any of my taxes going to the military or prison system?

Part II is missing so I don't know much about your other example, but you really think Cubans would swap what they have for what we've got? How many Cubans would be able to afford US healthcare??? Like, 5 of them????? Probably Fidel and his brother actually, and no-one else. The average Cuban could afford to have a slight cold in the US, but anything more serious and it would be down to the old barber-surgeon. Your dad didn't have surgery because he couldn't afford it here in the States more like. So he went to Cuba where he thought he'd get a freebie and low and behold he saw the results of the US embargo. Well, I hope he learned a valuable lesson.

Hi Andrew;
You had several questions in your post that I would like to answer as a conservative and a Catholic.
Lastly:
Another country that would like to have our health care system: Cuba. How do I know? My father and one of my uncles decided to travel to Cuba since they had heard how incredible their system is. Specifically, my uncle wanted to see if something could be done about his advanced glaucoma. He came back with no surgery performed. Why? He said the clinics did not even have autoclaves on hand to perform the necessary sterilization of the surgical equipment. Now that I think about it, the Cuban health care system is also no-fault. The last thing you want to do is complain lest you be paid a courtesy...

Hi Andrew;
You had several questions in your post that I would like to answer as a conservative and a Catholic.
You mention how "Wasn't Christ the ultimate in non-means tested healing?". The answer is yes, and He asked us to be personally responsible for our brothers and sisters. He did not, however, run to the province "procuratore" or governor asking for tax collection to aid those that required healing. You follow you argument with:
"It's not about one section of society taking, it's about another giving, for the benefit of all. How is that not Christian?
Again, Christ asked for us to give personally but not to compel our neighbors in helping. The first is called charity, call the second whatever you...
