None like many others seems not to understand that even though businesses pay the taxes as levied aren't really out anything because most of it is recaptured by folding the cost of their taxes into the retail price paid by the end consumer. If it is by legal and allowable deductions, it is not, by definition, stealing. If it is money that was paid to you by your company for the express purpose of paying taxes and you keep it instead, you get to run Treasury.

Gee, lilly, don't you realize that our magnificent legislators use the tax code for two purposes: 1) to influence our behavior, or 2) to reward a friend (or him- or herself). Collecting cash to spend improving the country is secondary, at best.

If he "cleverly" avoids the tax, I assume it would be legal. I say let him go to the country club. The country club hires many, many people (sometimes even those illegal aliens you libs love so much). Let him buy large ticket items, because that puts even more people to work....

Totally agree, there should be no income tax and only a tax on what is purchased. But how then, would the government control us without that strong arm branch called the IRS. Look how many poor union government workers and lawyers would be put out of work. What a shame!

Why tax income?
Not everyone has the samre type of income.

Check out the Fair Tax. The tax is paid at the point of final sale. The prebate insures that the truely poor will have no federal tax obligation. Even the uber-rich (who do not earn "income") would pay taxes. Those with unreported income (drug dealers eg) would pay tax when they buy their bling. Tourists would pay the tax. What happens when a business has to pay a tax? Do they actually pay the tax, or do they just consider that as a cost of doing business and if they can, simply increase the price of what they sell to offset that added expense? If they simply add the new cost to the price they sell their products/services for, who actually pays the tax?

Businesses should tax individuals for being allowed to buy their products, after all they wouldn't have anything if nothing was being produced. This tax money could be used for the up keep of highways, bridges...etc.

Although most Republicans are starting to get the message and are opposing the Democrats' statist agenda, there are a handful who have not and are not, and these individuals are taking down the reputation of the Republican Party as a whole. Republican leaders are going to have to exert irresistible leadership to get these people in line, because the leaders and the loyal Republicans suffer the consequences of the treason of the few.
