Not since the 1960s’ anti-war protests has a “sit-in” been so publicly used as a tactic by protesters. And back then it was usually reserved for the administration offices on college campuses that spoiled students would take over from time to time to whine about the R.O.T.C. program, or some other policy enacted by college administrators that they wanted changed.
But if one thought that the political discourse in this country couldn’t get any worse, all one has to do is look at the recent ‘sit in’ on the floor of the United States House of Representatives conducted by the Democratic Party, over their efforts to supposedly enact more gun control legislation in response to the Orlando terrorist attack.
An honest to goodness real ‘sit in’ protest, or is it simply a fundraising stunt by the Democrats in Congress? If so, it’s a very pathetic fundraising effort using the deaths of American citizens as a way to gin up support for their party.
Once again following a terrorist attack here in America committed by radical Islamic terrorists, one of the ‘protected classes’ under the Obama administration, the Democrats’ knee-jerk reaction is to overlook and ignore the national security implications, and to jump onto the anti-gun bandwagon blaming “guns” for the carnage, instead of the perpetrator and an obscene ideology.
Following the inspiration of Rahm Emanuel, the former White House Chief of staff and current mayor of the leading candidate for ‘murder capital of America,’ who once said “never let a good crisis go to waste,” Democrats have turned an act of terrorism into a “hate crime.” For no other reason than to use it as an argument once again for infringing on the rights of law abiding American citizens.

The fact that the terrorist in Orlando was screaming “Allahu akbar” and pledging his allegiance to the Islamic State while gunning down patrons inside the Pulse nightclub is ignored by the Democrats. That simply doesn’t fit the narrative that they want to project. It always seems that the Democrats only recognize their ‘narrative,’ and not the actual facts—a tactic they learned well from their presumptive nominee Hillary Clinton who has practiced it decades now: “if you tell a lie often enough the people will eventually believe it to be the truth.”
To admit that what happened in Orlando was an act of Islamic terrorism, this time committed against the homosexual community, would undercut their argument that this was yet simply another instance of gun violence and hate by a deranged man that justifies more gun control.
Homosexuals have been a voting bloc which has long held allegiance primarily with Democrats because of the party’s stance on many of the social issues that many members of the homosexual community are in favor of. Heaven forbid that homosexuals decide to come out in support of the Second Amendment as a means of protecting their community against more attacks from Islamic terror. A potential crack in the voting bloc that has supported Democrats almost exclusively for years.
But never doubt that the Democrats still intend to try to use the Orlando terrorist attack once again to justify their argument for enacting new gun legislation that’ll make them feel good, while accomplishing nothing more than to further restrict the rights of Americans, as well as the right of Americans to protect and defend themselves against perhaps some of the same refugees that Democrats are almost rabidly demanding be allowed into the United States.
Conveniently, the Democrats ignore the level of gun violence occurring on the streets of American cities on a daily basis. In particular, the city of Chicago where weekends have almost become something akin to a carnival shooting gallery. And most if not all committed with guns obtained illegally and in violation of some of the nation’s most restrictive gun laws. This too would undercut the Democrats’ arguments and determination to disarm the American people.
And don’t let Democrats try to tell you otherwise, that is their ultimate goal, to completely disarm the American people. All one has to do is listen to the statements made by Democrats like Sens. Dianne Feinstein and Elizabeth Warren.
Not to mention any number of Democrats currently sitting on their duffs on the floor of Congress, which begs the question, how can anyone tell the difference between them sitting on their duffs and actually working for their constituents?
Looking like a bunch of spoiled little children the Democrats once again resort to theatrics over substance. The only thing missing is the stamping of feet and holding their breath until they turn blue.
