Dan Holler

Gun to the head of the American people? Gut Medicare? Wreck the entire economy?

There was no “unity of purpose” in those words, nor has there been in his actions over the past four years. His call to “set aside childish things” rings hollow when he claims Republicans “are suspicious about government’s commitments, for example, to make sure that seniors have decent health care as they get older.” Remember, it is Obamacare that will lead to less choice, reduced access, and higher taxes on seniors.

Four years ago, President Obama concluded his inaugural speech with an eye toward the future and his legacy:

“Let it be said by our children's children that when we were tested we refused to let this journey end, that we did not turn back nor did we falter; and with eyes fixed on the horizon and God's grace upon us, we carried forth that great gift of freedom and delivered it safely to future generations.”

But as his solutions give rise to ever greater government, our freedoms slowly fall. Worse yet, the fate of future generations is in peril as our nation accumulates $47,000 in debt every single second. Only thanks to the resilience of the its people is America’s journey not yet over.
