Is President Obama's Afghanistan plan a step in the right direction?

Diabolical liberals are once again showing their disdain for homosexuals, and their lack of love for those who struggle with sexual sin. They are adverse to truth about sexual behavior. And when a sexual sinner is brave enough to say so, liberals become the most homophobic mouth foamers the universe has ever seen.

Take the case of Marine Cpl Matt Sanchez. (Also affectionately known as 'the other CPAC scandal'.)

Following his acceptance of the Jeanne Kirkpatrick Academic Freedom award he was "outed" by homosexual bloggers (bloggers who write about and engage in homosexual behavior) as being a "Gay Porn Star."

The reason so many of these homosexual bloggers knew this is simple. They are rabid consumers of homosexual pornography and have spent days, months, possibly years in front of their television screens acting out on the urges within them. They have been enslaved by the unforgiving voices that have told them since birth to act upon every sexual urge they have. The thought of personal sexual restraint is foreign to these bloggers. Thus they have near cataclysmic system failure when someone they believed was homosexual turns a corner in his life and leaves that filth behind.

Writing for Salon.com this week Sanchez spoke about his past and what being employed in the homosexual porn business did to his heart, mind, and life.

Porn reduces the mind and flattens the soul. I don't like it. That's not hypocrisy talking; that's just experience. I sometimes think of myself, ironically, as a progressive: I started off as a liberal but I progressed to conservatism. Part of that transformation is due to my time in the industry. How does a conservative trace his roots to such distasteful beginnings? I didn't like porn's liberalism. In porn, everything taboo is trivialized and everything trivial is magnified.

Being in the adult entertainment industry was sort of like being in a cult, and like all followers of a cult, I have a difficult time figuring out when I stopped believing in the party line. I can tell you, though, that by the time I finished my brief tour of the major studios, I was pretty disgusted with myself. It was an emotional low, and the people who surrounded me were like drug dealers interested only in being with the anesthetized in order not to shake off the stupor of being high.

It needs to be immediately understood that Sanchez committed two cardinal sins here.

The first is - he stopped having homosexual sex. The ability to "choose" one's actions particularly as it relates to which gender one has sex with is supposed to be unchangeable in the mind of liberals. The whole "made that way" argument tends to get decimated when someone like Sanchez simply decides that it is an empty, sad, and destructive life that brings him no joy.

The second is - he began to pursue truth. The maniacal hold on belief that liberals force upon their followers is not based on belief system of absolutes. So little can be trusted, verified, and believed. Sanchez saw it for the first time when he as a Marine reservist was smeared "baby-killer" on his college campus. After his successful and brave fight for free speech at Columbia University, and thus the recognition at CPAC, those who felt threatened by the change his life represents felt it necessary to drag up his pornographic past. He referenced as much in his op-ed.

Why did I become a conservative? Just look at what I left, and look at who is attacking me today. Let's face it: Those on the left who now attack me would be defending me if I had espoused liberal causes and spoken out against the Iraq war before I was outed as a pseudo celebrity. They'd be talking about publishing my memoir and putting me on a diversity ticket with Barack Obama. Instead, those who complain about wire-tapping reserve the right to pry into my private life and my past for political brownie points.

The discussion from cable airwaves on Keith Olbermann's show on MSNBC, to prominent left wing blogs like AMERICAblog operated by John Aravosis, sought to injure Sanchez for deeds committed over a dozen years ago but also to bludgeon conservatives - many of whom are faith-based, Bible-believing Christians for "allowing someone like that" to be honored for true bravery.

The truth is that such criticism shows a fundamental lack of understanding about what the Christian message of redemption is.

Many if not most of these same liberals grew red faced and blasted spittle at those who criticized then President William Jefferson Clinton for engaging in adultery with a much younger intern in the People's house. The argument, "everybody does it" seemed logical given that his defenders all grew up in the era when the predominant way of thinking was "do what feels good." But it did not make it right.

Repentance is not merely saying one is sorry. It is a more all encompassing idea of turning away from that which you are sorry for - and going steadfastly in the other direction. Clinton by any generous assessment would not measure up to that.

Sanchez does. His example condemns not only the left's hypocrisy but its deliberate sinfulness. That is why they must have his head.

Sanchez admitted that he wondered how his outing would affect his future.

By the way, as a political minority on the Columbia campus, people are always asking me, "How can you be a conservative? They're so hateful." That wasn't the feeling I got when I accepted my award. And it's not what I've been hearing from the conservative community since my "outing."

I am embarrassed to admit that was I worried that my fellow conservatives would distance themselves from me when the news about my film career broke. The opposite has happened.

That's the way it should be. As my new good friend Bryan Preston reminded us this week, we've all got things in our past that we are not proud of. As I detail very clearly in my new book, liberals would prefer us to stay stuck in those terrible behaviors to boost their own egos. God-fearing, Bible-thumping conservatives want us to repent (turn and walk away from). Knowing that one path leads to death and destruction, the other to ultimate knowledge, wisdom, and peace - which side would you say truly cares about the well being of the individual.

So should we be surprised that Christians and conservatives have embraced a man who starred in 'gay' porn? Of course not - Jesus would have!

And then he would say to us today, what he said two thousand years ago, "go and sin no more!"

With God all things are possible...
...even turning away from homosexuality. That's the part that the libs have a problem with. It takes a lot of faith to live a Christian life. We do it because we hope to go to heaven some day. We also have what the libs don't have (No Kimberly, you don't have it!). It is love. Love allows us to embrace sinners who repented of their wicked ways. Love rejoices in the truth (yes, there is an absolute truth). The truth is what helps people like Sanchez face their vices and change their ways.

The "ironing" is delicious
I love that this column appears right after one that argued that it was perfectly ok to call those horrible gays the f-word. Well as long as you don't have "disdain" for them.

By the way, Dirty Sanchez's gay sex ads and escort profile are still up and recent. So apparently he sucks at "not engaging in gay sex too."

And what's your position, Kev? Why would you care if Liberals had a "disdain" for homosexuality if you feel the same way (or do you?) What about the many conservatives out there who ARE gay? What about last year's "out" Gaypublican, Jeff Gannon?

A mans past
is never the pristene affair he hoped it would be when it was still part of his future. Everyone makes mistakes, some make bigger mistakes than others but it is not the the making of the mistakes that is important. What is important is learning from them.
Repentance is there for anyone who wishes for it and, forgiveness from God is all that matters. A man who knows he has been forgiven has learned a great truth about himself, that he is not perfect.

Mr. Sanchez seems to be a very lucky man. Not only has he grown wiser through recognizing the error of his past and correcting it. But he has also been shown what real friends are truly made of.

The point
of the article is this... Libs like you just proved Hal, are hypocrites, even when it comes to bashing gays who they purport to adore...only Republican gays get the Libtards disdain... selective outrage, a Libtard trait

The ironing is delicious
I love that this column is listed on the main page just after one that argued that it was perfectly ok to call homosexuals the f-word. Well as long as your not showing "disdain" over it.

By the way, Dirty Sanchez still has ads and listing for man-on-man sex and escort services. Guess he's not as good at "not engaging in gay sex" as Kev thinks he is eh?

Christian?
This is the most hilarious column I ever read! Even more hilarious is McCulloughs expertise in gay sex. He really has it figured out!

1. Gays have sex since the day they were born? LOL!

Try more like age 21, at least in my case, and pretty much half of the people I grown up with in a rural smalltown (gay and straight).

2. Sanchez was "outed" by homosexual bloggers who engage in homosexual sex

DUH! What other kind of sex would it be? You say it as if your foaming-at-the-mouth readers couldn't figure that one out. And how can you be "outed" when you made gay porn videos as late as 1999 (although some have been reissued since). And how can you be "outed" when you've been spotted in the "gay areas" on dates with men? What's more, he's been advertising his services even just recently (non video).

I listened to this interview with that Colmes guy from Fox News, and Sanchez's was the voice of somebody who sounded like they had plenty to hide. The guy couldn't even give a title to one of the "straight" porns he's done to prove he's done hetero porn (which you would think would be the priority to tell people aside from the gay films).

McCullough likes to accuse liberals of all these things and considers himself a "christian", but his words tell different. This is a person with a lot of hate in his heart and is far from that - just a christian in name only. It seems he's prodding everyone to repent or whatever, when he needs to be doing it himself. No heterosexual man would be the expert on gay sex and gay innuendo like McCullough is.

That's why I firmly believe the loudest so-called christians who hate gays and spout the garbage like in this article are nothing more than wolves in sheep clothing, and are homosexuals themselves. In pretty much every case, that's the truth - when they're exposed. These people are the reasons I haven't been to a church since high school and would never go back. Like Bush's double-speak, this so-called "christian love" is the exact opposite. They do, however, love you enough to send you to some kind of reparation therapy, when they're the ones who need to be going. They love to play "god" like that.

Maybe gay bloggers need to check into THIS guys past.

And the last thing, I'm sorry guys, but I'm afraid you're going to be in a world of disappointment over this whole Sanchez thing. Everyone on both sides are wasting their time. The proof is in the pudding (and you can mark my words) that Sanchez will be discovered that he's still a sexually active gay male, with men. Scream and call names all you want, but watch and see. Instead of backing up sociopathic liars like this guy, go support somebody who's lost a limb or worse - not somebody who hasn't even been to Iraq yet. THAT would be doing something christian.

Sunday Morning People
Sunday Morning People
recorded by Honey Cone (1970's)

Sunday morning people
Better listen to me
You go to church on Sunday
And hate your neighbor all week

You pray as loud as you can
Turn your back on your fellow man
You've got to help your brothers 7 days a week
If peace and happiness is what you seek

Sunday morning people
practice what you preach
You can't go to church on Sunday
And hate your neighbor all week (like McCullough)

?
Just the same...I'll give Mr.Sanchez the benefit of the doubt and go by his word. If he isn't being truthful... well, that's not my problem. Just as it's not in my job description to absolve or to punish him for the choices he makes in life.

Hard sayin'
Articles like this sure stir things up, don't they? Christians,Gays,Heroes and Haters make for quite the ingredient list huh? I wanted to offer something but it seemed pretty pointless (yall may think that's "normal" for me) but I remembered this story:
A wise Father gave each of his three sons a live chicken and instructed them to take it where no one could see and kill it. The first son immediately turned his back to the group, wrung the neck and turned back around grinning. The second son walked around the corner of the barn, did the deed and was back in a flash. The third son was gone three days and returned with the live chicken. Dad asked why did you not kill the chicken and the boy explained that everywhere he went the chicken could see. S

sb
Your anti-Christian bigotry shines forth in your posts. You need to get counciling so you can be cured of your irrational hate of Christians.

sp
You are just pissed Mr Sanchez no longer appears to endorse your philosophy, too bad.

IRONY in action: When homosexual advocates want to denigrate their opponent their best slur is accusing them of being "GAY".

gotta love it , talk about self hate

the difference
The difference between conservatives and liberals is that conservatives will be hoping for the best for Mr. Sanchez, that he is able to walk the straight and narrow path on a very difficult journey. Liberals on the other hand will be hoping that he soon shows up in another gay porn film. In essence, they wish for him to sink back into the muck from which he came in order for them to feel better. Conservatism lifts you up, liberalism drags you down.
I wish Mr. Sanchez the best. I hope that he will be able to ignore those who pray for his destruction.

Haljordan
Please, supply a link for those current porn ads...I like the truth, not just someone spewing.
And, I think you are taking the f- word thing too personal. One article has nothing to do with the other. One is about Coulter's choice of words and the other is about how the libs preach tolerance of their own for whatever behaviours make them feel good...until they turn out to be conservative...oops!

Satan2Liberals
Hello?

The suggestion that someone is homophobic/gay is brought up in a "me thinks the lady protests to much" way. It is anything but self-loathing. Rather, it points out that many self-haters do in fact publicly fight their private "demons."

I don't think it's a logical conclusion that McCullough's issue with gays is due to his own orientation issues, but I think it is fair to assume that it is probably personal for him, at some level -- maybe a family member or something.

There is just no conceivable reason to be so worried about other people's sex, unless it abuses someone. In a couple of decades we'll all be wondering what the panic was about.

Martha

Kevin
is a Ted Haggard waiting to happen - look for and announcement.

And Mr. Kev may want to check some facts on how recent Mr Sanchez's exploits were. We dont want good christians to lie now just to make a point, do we?

mom of 5 girls
It's so easy to characterize people into two separate groups -- good and evil; isn't it? And you get to be in the good guy group. That's nice.

How about this one:
Maybe the liberals will be hoping that Sanchez is happy with his life, but worried that he'll be just one more casualty in the trashpile of Exodus International. The concern gay people have for "the cured" is based on a high return rate and the fact that many gay people go through a time of great fear and self-hatred before they are able to find peace. *Very* few gay people succeed in the "deprogramming" effort. They just increase their self-loathing, and encourage others to do the same.

I know that you'd really like to believe that God doesn't make real gay people. It's just a "tendency," or a neurosis that they must fight all their lives; poor things. If it were that simple, the whole world would be straight. It's a lot easier life.

Martha

The revolution will be advertised
Am I the only one gullible enough to follow the "he began to pursue truth" link to McCullough's own Amazon kiosk? Sales of MuscleHead Revolution must be slumping.

We on the left don't want Mr. Sanchez to sink back into a life that "reduces the mind and flattens the soul." We only want to afford him the freedom to be true to himself - whether gay or straight.

Kevin..
Writing a column containing content regarding the perverted behavior of homosexuality brings out armies of Marxist trolls who enjoy revealing their sadistic mindset.

McCullough is "GAY" baiter
Mac said:
"liberals are once again showing their disdain for homosexuals"
Funny, I realize the age group of Con's is getting up their toward senile dementia, But do you even remember your own Hate?

Lets review McCullough's hits of 2006.
1) Why Would Gays Want Children?
2) Why Gays Can Not Be 'Pro-Choice'
3) Why gays hate marriage
4) Why did Wal-Mart go gay?
5) Why gays are losing on marriage

You know, they have meds to help you with that memory loss.
Your hate, as always, will shine through.

Oh, the "tolerant" liberals - they
are proving themselves to be the bigots we knew they were!

Funny ain't it?
It never ceases to amaze me that the most homophobic, gay bashers out there are the liberals! Just look at all the posts here that Kevin gets when he mentions the fact that the Bible clearly identifies homosexuality as a sin. The liberals vitually pop a blood vessel in their attacks on him and their insisting that he may in fact be gay; but if being gay was soooo okay, why would it be used as an insult to Kevin? I mean, the liberals like to tell us that it is so natural, and dang near good, to be gay...yet whenever they want to hurt, discredit, or destroy someone the first thing they do is insinuate that they are gay! Maybe, jusy maybe, the liberals know that homosexual activity is sinful and want to smear others with it in an effort to malign them.

BTW, HalJordan....what does pressing ones clothing have to do with the topic at hand? And when did "ironing" become delicious? I have always seen it as a necessary chore!

I'm always surprised
at how many homosexuals read Townhall.

Where is the vitriol?
On this comment thread why does it *SEEM* that the anger and vitriol come from the ... less conservative contributors? In their need to vent their spleen they demonstrate a difficulty in reading the entire article and/or making points related to what it actually says. Particularly amusing is the apparent wish/projection that a person changing his/her life *really isn't*. Why do social progressives fight so hard to deny that such can be done? Missing context is another leftist shortcoming. No one said its ok to call homosexuals "faggot". The point was (is and will remain) that censoring word usage is counterproductive in an effective dialogue. Rather than objecting to a WORD, object (if appropriate) only to the context of its usage.

Tired Of Liberal Hypocrisy and Lies
I am sorry to see this column already inundated with Liberal rants, which are dour, and bitter, about Christians, Conservatives, and true personal redemption.

It is also sad, to see, and hear, people still making nasty, stupid inferences about Kevin McCullough's personal life, as if everyone is longing for the perversion of the gays intentions.

Mr. Sanchez is a man who came to the end of himself, and found release from this, and a new life.

It was not that long ago in America that that would have been welcomed with kindness, understanding and respect, as this man is looking away from a life of darkness, and sinister ways, to a life where he can think and feel, and live, in a pure way.

Many who have posted here have confessed to being immersed in the homosexual "lifestyle", hence the words which try to knock Mr. McCullough, and paint that life as good, or honorable, when it is simply perversion, and evil.

The three posts on which Liberals and homosexuals in politics like to stand on to bring down Conservatives, remain the same three.

Number one:

Make personal attacks on specific individuals who extol the virtues of Christ, and Godly living, or who show another way.

Make sure to, by word or implication, drag them down, and look for any spec of sinful ways, mainly sexual, that they have had in their recent or very remote past.

The main reason homosexuals in the political scene, and Liberals, do this, is not just because they are against Christians, and the Conservative move and what they stand for. These Liberals also enjoy their perverse life so much, and its accompanying misery, they don't want anyone else delivered from the smut, and filth, they live amongst.

It is too hard for them, and they have bought into Satan's lies that these behaviors are "who they are". They have also bought into the current gay indoctrination technique, which says: "Be who you are. Accept who you are...” in a way that is implicitly advocating homosexuality.

Number #2 A poster names Karl used the words that might describe exactly what I am sharing here:

"We on the left don't want Mr. Sanchez to sink back into a life that "reduces the mind and flattens the soul." We only want to afford him the freedom to be true to himself - whether gay or straight."

"Freedom" to be his *true* self, and phrases like this, are always code for: "If it feels good do it" and other Liberal ideologies. They are also code for thinking of ones self a certain way. Mainly, "gay".

Number #3 The next tactic Liberals will use is to out right attack Christianity. They will think and speak in very bigoted ways, like the person who posted song lyrics here: "Sunday Morning People".

They believe that if they can find a few Christians, as Mr. Haggard, who have fallen, that they can-unfairly-label an entire faith!

They honestly believe that whole parties can be defined by a few backslidden, or reprobate people.

If they can't find dirt on a man, they must dreg up the refuse of "the dead" issue, by bringing up the persons name, in connection with another Christian or Conservative, see point #1.

Between a corrupt secular Liberal media sliming Conservative leaders, day and night, with droning about the war, and their combing every last spec of a few individuals lives, just to try to make a sick, untrue statement about a faith, or a party, is it any wonder that Liberals Democrats have become legendary as lovers of lies, hypocrisy, and bankrupt living?

Although I am not a betting lady, I would bank on their being more true Christians, and sincere and well-meaning Conservatives, who live far more wholesome lives, in the more Conservative parties.

This is so if strictly by the virtue of them being more conservative and, hence family-oriented and God-minded people.

I have listened to Mr. McCullough's radio show for almost 4 years.

His reputation stands as a Christian who is looking to actively stop the lies, and deceit, that control agendas which are out to hurt man. His wish is to share God's Truth, so that people can be free...

Your bringing up Ted Haggard, in reference to Kevin and the ~KMC family, is exactly the same wicked, dishonest, and slanderous measure that can be expected of Liberals, and their homosexual allies, and, so called “elites”.

Just ask Ann Coulter, with Andrew Sullivan, et. al.

We are sure she will have loads to tell.

And sometimes people like to misrepresent others' points. Or maybe you were just unable to follow my line of reasoning.

I specifically said that I don't think McCullough is writing from a gay/homophobic viewpoint, but that I suspect it is personal in some way. My point was that a gay person suggesting that a person's excessive focus on "the gay issue" might be a sign that they're uncomfortable with their own sexuality is not a sign of self-hatred. They are not accusing them of being gay, but accusing them of being hypocritical.

I agree. Sometimes a spade is just a spade. The fact that some self-loathers do fight their demons publicly does not prove that all who fight a battle are in that class.

Try rereading the post, Honey.

Gotta get to church...excuse rushed errors, please.

For the sake of argument
Let's say that human beings are neither homosexual or heterosexual, but simply sexual. In human beings the sysytem of genetically guaruntees for linking sex with the birth and rearing of progeny no longer exists. Sex does not guarantee conception, conception does not lead relenlessly to birth and birth does not compel parents or even mothers to nurse and protect the new born. Cultures have learned techniques and practices that can prevent each step in this process. For better or worse we have been decisively liberated from reproductive imperatives that reign throughout the rest of the animal kingdom. Deccoupling sex from reproductive consquences long proceded the age of gay porn, abortion and good contreception.
Sexuality and what it is used for is culturally determined not naturally selected. Americans have always drawn a line in the sand between gay and straight, marital and premarital, good and bad, but a quick look at sexual 'norms' in places like ancient Greece, Rome etc. will show you these lines are quite blurry gay men in much of the world marry and have children. Straight men in prisons and the military units throughout history have engaged in homosexual acts. Is a married gay man straight is a straight man in prison gay? I've never bought into this gay and straight thing.

"Gay" Porn Star
Good article. I am personally unaware of the situation, but, will research. Taking at face value, I would say that you hit on all cylinders. I guess the Great Deceiver is working effectively in the minds of the left. I mean in reference to your pointing out that one path leads to destruction and death, while the other to life. Very good point. I am personally tired of the clergy today, for the most part, refusing to engage in the battle for souls.

keep on spinning matha
Thus far you have still failed to counter my reply.

Keep changing your story , maybe , eventually you will succeed.

The "ironing" is delicious???
Hal, maybe you see Kevin as ironing this all out, but I suspect the word you want is "IRONY".

Allen, you are correct to point out that many straight people are addicted to porn. Sadly, porn is the ultimate in self-centeredness. Christianity is definitely NOT about self-centeredness. Jesus shows us a way of love for others that requires sacrifice on our part and some Christians don't live up to this as they should.

Jesus is NOT promoting a "dumbing down" of the Kingdom. Jesus loved sinners and yet always called them to something better and different than what they had. My wife gives me a hard time when I tell my nieces to keep their elbows off the table when they eat at our house. Is it my place to correct them on this insignificant gaff? No, but I love them and want whats best for them. I hope that when I see people I know doing harm to themselves or others I will have the courage to speak up. God does not call us to be silent in these situations.

Dave

SHAME ON YOU for bringing religion IN
Pvt Sanchez was quite the Gay Porn star (aka Rod Majors) and his credits are 35-40 videos, with some great (ha ha) titles as:

Jawbreaker
Patriot A$$
Man$ex meltdown
Come and get IT
Donkey D!ck
Well Hung 1
Beat off Frenzy
Bu## Crack Mountain

A few of 40 videos! He was also a male prostitute and advertised.

I LOVE IT when conservatives like Kevin McCullough preach Christan love and how diabolical LIBIRALS are....blaaa blaaa blaaa.

How dare you use Christianity and than be so UN-Christian for political gain. You can love or forgive a Gay man? Wow you're great, but you have HATE for Liberals? What is up with that? Also the sin of "Gay" is no worse than YOUR sins Mr. Kevin McCullough or anyone elses sin. You are no better or assured heaven more than Pvt Sanchez, a poor person or a murderer in prison. Frankly, they will have an easier time getting to heaven if you read the bible.

Pvt Sanchez DOES NOT NEED CONSERVATIVES, LIBERALS OR REPUBLICANS TO FORGIVE HIM, HE ONLY NEEDS Jesus.

This is WHERE YOU are so screwed up. Authoritarian far right conservatives THINK they speak for GOD. Bizarre!! I am sure its not in the Bible that Liberals are heathens; I read it. GOP forgiveness means not a damn thing. That is some mighty BIG arrogance going on. You're playing fire with your eternal soul. I would not say that.

When you are at the gates of heaven and God asks why you should enter the Kingdom of heaven and all you got is, I AM A REPUBLICAN, you are in deep trouble. There is ONLY ONE WAY TO GRACE, and that is through the Son. YOU Mr. Kevin McCullough and the GOP is not the party of GOD. Sly or subliminable rhetoric to your RIGHT wing religious base about the godlessness of liberals is faults witnessing.

*FIRST: It is hilarious, Liberals equals NON Christian? Really? That is stupid. That is arrogance or evil deception.

**SECOND: Any real christian knows, judge ye not and we're all sinners and deserve DEATH, if not for the salvation for GOD, not the GOP.

***THIRD: THIS IS HALLARIOUS. Pvt Sanchez did the Fox news rounds (Bill-Oh, Hannity) and even took pics with Michelle Malkin, arm in arm, holding each other in conservative bliss. WHY? Well because Pvt Sanchez had a story that did what the conservative propaganda machine wants. He said what they wanted to hear, how liberal college campuses are BAD vast hot bed of liberal activism (free speech). Don't get me wrong, the radical Professors that say 9/11 was a government conspiracy or the people who died deserved it are NUT cases, but we are talking college kids.

"Sanchez saw it for the first time when he as a Marine reservist was smeared *baby-killer* on his college campus." (Oh poor baby)

I don't know what happened or if there is proof, but "baby killer" sounds dated, like 1969 vietnam anti-war taunts. Who says that? I heard his story and have to be honest, it was shaky. I assume its true, but I have some questions.

Any way "baby killer" is a stupid retarded thing to say. Our Troops are the best. Do innocent civilians die from US military action. Yes, that is way you NEED A DAMN GOOD reason to start a war (BUT THAT IS ANOTHER MATTER).

Clearly we all support the troops and a few KIDS on campus means NOTHING. Kids will be kids. Liberals and Dems love the troops (believe it or not), even if they hate the war (and Bush), which is basically a disaster, started for inflated or faults reasons, ill prepared for, miss managed and now costing too many lives at too much money for too little, in my opinion.

****FOURTH: Did you forget about Mark Foley, Ted Haggard, hypocrites. Oh yea one went into REHAB (for pedophilia?) and the other is now NOT GAY, because James Dobson helped him. Of course Ted Ted lied. He got banged by that manwhore like a drum and said he got a massage only (and never did the Meth). ha ha. Ted is effeminate and Gay. Can he make a choice not to have sex with men? Yea I guess, wish him luck. I know how much I LOVE (lust) and I'm attracted to woman. I can only imagine that urge is the same for Gays but with the same sex. That's going to be hard (Bong, no pun intended).

++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

If the GOP keeps courting the religious right "evangelicals", with their very picky and special agenda, by making theological policy, we will be screwed. Forget Roe v Wade, its not getting overturned. You can’t stop people from being GAY, and we don’t need sub-machine-guns in every household. As much as you might like no more abortions, everyone being straight and criminals having no guns, while every Granny is packing, it ain't going to happen. Lets get real and deal with our BIG problems in this country, like going broke by 2024.

I'm for religion as a christian, when its in church saving souls, but when people like Jerry Falwell and Pat Robertson have the GOPs ear there is a problem. Do ALL republicans SPEAK IN tongue's and do the laying of hands? That is weird to me. Sorry for you charismatic faiths but speaking in tongues is suspicious in modern church for really no reason.

I know these two Gents (Falwell/Robertson) get "dreams" and spoken to directly by God for things like raising money (or they will die). WOW. If my pastor said something like that, I would leave the that church and report him to the main synod. Just like Catholic priest should have been reported for pedophilia. Sadly (I am not Catholic) the San Diego diesis declared bankruptcy to protect them from lawsuits. I am very sad at that. This does show no one is above the law and priest are sinners, like you and me. You can't judge people by the Party they belong to.

ROD MAJORS! What a guy

The whole point of conservatives trotting out Pvt Sanchez was to demonize liberals and academics. That is it. His story? Could be a lie for all we know, but lets assume some college kids called him names.

SHAME, shame on you sir as a Christian(?) using religion for politics. BTW, what kind of church do you attend and how much? I suspect many spouting moral high ground are faults prophets. When ever you bring God or Jesus into it for political gain and imply or out right accuse people or a group of people (Liberals - what ever that means) as Godless, you are walking on dangerous ground.

When you can look into my heart or anyone's heart call me. As far as I know only God, The Father, Son and Holy Spirit can do that.

SHAME on all conservatives or liberals that bring religion into politics. I rebuke you for using Gods words in for personal and political gain. It is irreprehensible to point fingers at people like YOU or YOUR PARTY has some kind of moral high ground. Real Christians I am sure know how duplicitous your words are.

The religious right to their credit, I hope sees the FRUIT of the GOP's actions. Since 2000, a total of 60 GOP officials/associates have been indited, investigated or convicted (17 guilty), for illegal or illicit behaviour; the FRUIT is rotten. By the way compare that to 10 Dems, 4 guilty. I am not saying Dems are better, but just stating FACT. I despise arrogance and liars.

However I agree, as a christian we can FORGIVE. We MUST forgive. However there needs to be repentance, in the heart. Is Mark Foley repentant? How about Libby? I see articles from people like Kevin McCullough and it shows a DARK and HARD HEART to me. Mr. McCullough I ask you repent and seek religious guidance from a non-political pastor, preacher or minister. Show him what you write about people.

Love they neighbor, even if they are Gay. Of course, but HOW DARE you assume me or anyone else (based on party) does not forgive. By the way I am independent, both parties suck.

Authoritarian personalities I guess are attracted to the GOP; But the "rap" that the GOP is full of ridged and judgmental people in America probably has truth to it.

The beauty in your rhetoric and propaganda, which is judgemental, hypocritical, partisan, ideological, is that you accuse Liberals of being all of these things, which they may be. My point is both of you Children (GOP/DEM) need to stop or WE (America) will fall. United we stand? May be not in 10 years of 50 but 100 years. For our children, grandchildren and grandchildren children's, STOP IT. Also think beyond your own greed. We do need to protect mother earth for another 6,000 years; it is life just like an un-born baby.

You are FAR RIGHT WING WATER CARRIER, that has NOTHING nice or balanced to say about Democrats, Liberals, REAL problems and solutions. All you have is attacks. I can't look into your heart, but since you use a word like "diabolical" (wicked, hellish), I can only assume you even HATE Liberals, other americans. I am OK with YOUR hate, but when you add Jesus to the MIX, than I have righteous indignation. You feel free to lecture me and others about Christianity and LOVE. WOW! I'll pray for you.

"Liberals and Dems love the troops"

yeah , but whose?

Redemption
Redemption is a story best served with warm love.

Where are the redemption stories of today?

Has Newt Gingrich asked for redmeption since his trangressions in marriage?

We don't know because we don't talk about our own redemptions.

Perhaps if Christians were more open with their redemption stories then more lost would seek redemption so as to be found?

Redemption is an import part of the Christian story and one we rarely hear.

That's between Newt and the Lord.

fyi: I see your post question as a fishing expedition.

Here's the salient point
of the column. Whether Sanchez repented or not makes no difference to this:

When a lefty dislikes a black person, they accuse them of being "white."

When a lefty dislikes a Christian, they accuse them of being hateful (unChristian).

When a lefty dislikes a homosexual, they, you guessed it, accuse them of being gay.

Why Christians Embrace 'Gay' Porn Stars
because Falwell said that the 911 attack was God's wrath against this nation because of homosexuals.

because Anal Coulter called John Edwards "Faggot" showing her compassion for homosexuals.

Thus far you have still failed to counter my reply.

Keep changing your story, maybe , eventually you will succeed.

Well, sure then, sweet honey-child cutie-pie, whatever y'all say. If you say I'm spinning, than it certainly must be so. What am I, anyway, but a woman who shouldn't bother her sweet little head with all these complicated thoughts. You are absolutely right, of course. I should just leave it all up to you brave, strong, brilliant men.

I should never expect you to actually quote the essence or basic content of what I write. I should never ask you to truthfully counter anything I say. I should just blindly accept that, if you say I'm changing my story, ding-ding, you made your point and you win the argument.

Very cute, but pathetic, attempt. The truth is that you can't respond to what I said, either because you don't understand it, you don't have the guts to face the truth that a woman caught you in a logical fallacy, or you're too lazy to argue like a respectful adult.

Excuse my sarcasm. I don't usually stoop to it. But, in this day and age, anyone who calls a woman "sweetie" to deflect attention from a lack of confidence in his own debate skills deserves a taste of his own medicine.

And don't ask me how I know you're a man. I know you might not be one. Let's just say I'm making a wild guess.

Gosh, it was just a simple clarification of logic. I wasn't calling you an idiot.

The Point Is...
The point of the article is that liberals are not liberal or progressive. Sanchez made a choice to change his life and liberal homosexuals don't like it so they attack him. It is an attack on the homosexual lifestyle and the "born that way" argument for someone to say it is a choice and making a different choice.
Christians are well aware that we are all sinners and that anyone of us will fall into sin again. We pray for ourselves and each other for the grace to fight our temtations. We embrace all those who choose to fight the good fight of living a moral and virtuous life. It's not easy, whatever your personal temptations are.

This column is total spin
So the right-wing got caught with its pants down again and now they have Mr. Sanchez hitting all of the talk shows saying his is born-again and is no longer gay.

This is the most hilarious load of CYA since, since what Ann's little fa**ot comment at the same conference.

I doubt that Mr. Sanchez would have received the award if someone had known about his background before it awarded.

Sanchez Is Not Mary Magdalene
It is no surprise that some within the religious Right have embraced former gay escort and porn actor Matt Sanchez.

The notion that Sanchez has seen the light and turned his back on the evils of homosexuality allows people like Kevin McCullough to propagate the false notion that homosexuality is both a choice and a destructive lifestyle – not unlike alcoholism or drug abuse – that can be cured with prayer and a group hug. Let's face it, the ex-gay industry is a multi-million dollar enterprise for the religious Right. It allows people like James Dobson, Kevin McCullough and the rest of the modern-day Pharisees to live the lifestyle that Jesus actually did condemn.

Scandals like Ted Haggard and Matt Sanchez allow people like McCullough, who have bet their economic futures on combating homosexuality, to paint all homosexuals with the same broad brush: all homosexuals are engaged in a destructive lifestyle, just one step away from prostituting themselves and acting in dozens of gay porn videos like Sanchez.

Like Ted Haggard, the only thing gay prostitutes and their clients have to do to be accepted (back) into the fold is blame their deception and destructive lifestyle on "diabolical liberals." God doesn’t care about the origin of the sin. Kevin McCullough, James Dobson, et al do. It doesn’t matter if men like Haggard sought out men like Sanchez to perpetrate their fraud. Nor does it matter that millions of gay men have never done anything even remotely as destructive as Haggard and Sanchez.

Kevin McCullough doesn’t care if Sanchez was accepting money from closeted, probably God-fearing, married men or that he is still advertising for sex on gay websites in the present – as long as he blames liberals. In turn, Sanchez is more than happy to give people like McCullough what they want – just like he gave thousands of pay-for-sex clients and video customers what they wanted.

Make no mistake, Sanchez is still prostituting himself. The only difference is Kevin McCullough is now his "manager."

For What It's Worth
It seems as though the whole "gay" issue really ignites people on both sides. Let me just come straight out with it. I am a Christian, American, Conservative, Professional who is also gay. I refuse to think of myself primarily as "gay". I am a lot of things before that ever becomes an issue.

Let's talk for a minute about what I am not. I am not someone who identifies as being "gay first" like Rosie O'Donnell. I am in no way a gay activist, am not in support of gay marriage and do not believe that gays deserve "minority" status. I do not support liberal causes, and frankly, their ideology makes my blood boil. I am not interested in or a consumer of "gay porn" and will not allow any of that porn filth in my house. I am not a gay bar/club dweller and not shopping around on the Internet looking for some lust-indulged sexual encounter with multiple strangers. I am in no way, nor have I ever been a Man-crazy sexual pervert and in fact, have worked hard my entire life to be a person of class, investing in things like dignity, character and responsibility. I am also not closeted, and live my life openly as a gay man, but not with my sexuality on my shirt sleeve.

You might find this hard to believe, but I am disgusted and offended by the behavior and beliefs of many in the so-called "gay community" which I have been officially kicked out of. I have yet to figure that one out - How does one get kicked out of something they never belonged to in the first place? What's next? Am I going to get kicked out of the Democrat Party since I am a lifelong Republican?

I hate to point this out, but the behavior of a lot of the straight community is every bit as despicable as the gay community - they just hide it where the gays parade it around as if any of us want to see it.

I'm branded by 99 percent of gay people I know as a "hate monger" and a "bigot" because I dare to tell the truth. I'm against gays having minority status because they don't need it - all they need to do is start behaving like responsible, respectable members of American society and the "rights" thing will take care of itself. I'm against gay marriage because of the word "marriage". No judge has the right to tell states and eventually churches that they have to sanction same sex marriage. Liberals want the separation of church and state until it comes down to this issue. Why not allow the words "civil union"? Not because of Conservative Opposition, but because of the liberal gay media/lobby opposition.

I cannot tell you how I have been attacked and the vile things I have been called by gay and lesbian people because I am a conservative. I have even been physically threatened. The discrimination I have faced at the hands of other gay people has been far worse than anything the straight community has lobbed at me.

As for my religious beliefs, my sexuality has not done anything more than make me realize just how much I need the salvation by grace through faith in which I believe. In all, I belonged to God before I belonged to this world and am His, not this world's. Through prayer, I truly believe that perhaps this life is mine because it's something that with God's help I can bear, and that would have been unbearable by someone else. Maybe also, God means for me to be an example that His grace extends beyond man made boundaries.

I'm thankful to be in a deeply committed monogamous relationship with someone who believes as I do. We are upstanding, responsible, respectable members of our neighborhood and community who live with class and discretion.

Finally, as to whether or not being gay is a choice, I can only speak for myself and say it was and is not. It may be for some others. There's a real danger in generally branding people based upon limited criteria. I only know that I am who I am, comfortable with that and proud of not only my work to become the man I am, but thankful for those who invested in me and taught me why being a conservative is important. It's the difference between being right and doing right.

Dear jetpilot
Peace, brother. We witness with this column and many of the comments in the blog the frailty of man.

Maybe there was a better way for McCullough to write about the facts that there are people who want to point out Cpl Sanchez's past, people who want to keep reminding him of it, people who are angry that he has renounced it as morally wrong, and people who are certain that he's just a liar and hasn't renounced it at all. But I'm afraid you haven't suggested that better way.

There's an awful lot of judgment in your comments. Jesus appended no clauses to his injunction to forgive our brother seventy times seven (Matthew 18:21). Our brother doesn't have to repent first -- forgiveness is an obligation on US, independent of the state of the offender's heart.

Perhaps McCullough shouldn't have decided to highlight the negative reaction of many to Sanchez's decision, at all. Perhaps it's not sufficiently uplifting as a topic, and comes off as accusing. The idea that conservative Christians do more of that than liberals, of any religious bent, is hilarious. It's a human failing to focus on what others are doing wrong, and politics defaults to that mode about 99% of the time, on all points of the political spectrum.

Jesus requires us to forgive that, too.

Maybe we can agree to forgive, and pray the best for, everyone who wrote or was mentioned here today.

Historical Myths
"Americans have always drawn a line in the sand between gay and straight, marital and premarital, good and bad, but a quick look at sexual 'norms' in places like ancient Greece, Rome etc. will show you these lines are quite blurry gay men in much of the world marry and have children."

People so often like to think of past societies as being monolithic, unchanging from inception to extinction, but that's not the case.

Yes, some ancient Greek cultures.. SOME... tolerated homosexuality among young men, but frowned upon it as they grew older.

Yes, at later periods, Rome tolerated homosexuality and every other kind of perversion, as does America today. But Juilius Caesar himself condemned the Gauls for their homosexual behavior. Less than a century later, a Roman emperor had an affair with a female horse.

There are times when societies embrace perversion, but that doesn't mean they embraced the perversion from the start. Consider, would you want future historians, perhaps a thousand years from now, to justify future slavery by saying the ancient Americans held slaves, thus implying that we still support slavery today?

The nature of sin
I don't have a dog in this fight, but this bit caught my attention:

"r. Sanchez stopped being filmed because he found it trivializing. That's not the same as "sin" (whatever that is)."

What is the nature of sin if it is not "acts or desires that trivialize or corrupt the most essential aspects of our existence?"

What some homosexuals seem to miss when their lifestyle is criticized is that they are not being singled out. *Any* lifestyle that trivializes or corrupts love and intimacy is "sinful" or soul-killing.

Not all sins are as obvious as thou shall not steal or kill. Some are quite subtle and take maturity and serious examination to understand thoroughly. Since it's very difficult to objectively examine what one is mired within, most sins are better avoided in the first place, even the ones that seem babyish on the surface.

Is homosexuality a sin? This is anecdotal, but all the people I know well who are active homosexuals are intensely self-loathing, but then so are all the people I know who are promiscuous or adulterous (myself included at one time of my life). Maybe there is something to this "sin" stuff.

Dear jdw,
My point was sexual norms are culturally determined and yes culture changes. Culturally Americans have stereotyped gay men as effeminate entertainers, hairdressers and interior decorators but historically the most common institutionalized form of male homosexual relationships occurs among men being trained for military service you can find examples of this from Ancient Greece all the way to modern Papua New Guinea. These warriors unlike our gays tend to marry eventually and have sex with women outside of military service. The case of the modern American gays is a form of institutionalized homosexuality that has never existed except in recent recent western culture. There is no other society now or in the past in which gay men and women have formed a community apart and have sex almost exclusively with other homosexuals. In our culture if one has sex with a member of their own sex they areof indeterminate status or "bi" and then attempts are made by the homosexual community to recruit and society at large to expel.

ReaganRepublican,
well said.

Tadd Peake-good point
I agree with you-sin is sin. Adultery or fornication between straight people are as bad as homosexual relations.

Straight porn
What about all the straight porn stars and the millions of straight men and women who are not only obsessed with the stuff, but who are employed in the field? You make it sound as if gay people have a monopoly on the porn industry when that is most definitely not the case -

I know straight and gay people who engage in a little bit of porn, I know straight and gay people who view ALOT of porn, and I know straight and gay people who watch no porn. There are Christians who are not conservative, but are just as concerned about the effects of porn on a person's life - but you're too biased to see that.

Why don't you turn your efforts onto the Hooter's corporations of the world - get straight porn and its purveyors in line.

Kevin, come out of the closet!

You cannot be serious

Self-Loathing
Tadd Peake -

Are you kidding me with the self-loathing bit? I know plenty of straight people who are self-loathing, and I know many, many gay people who are not self-loathing at all.

Is it any wonder that some gay people are self-loathing when they live in a society that still doesn't allow them to have the same rights as their straight brother's and sisters - when they live in a society that every day gives us another news story about a gay person who was physically or verbally attacked, just for being who they are - when they live in fear in a society of simply holding hands. If some gay people that you know are self-loathing, instead of immediately assuming you know the cause and that is must have something to do with sex, think about your own actions and your own words, and how they can contribute to how someone feels about themselves - self-loathing indeed.

ReaganRepublican
Congratulations for not buying into the liberal swill.

I expect you are high on the liberal re-education list.

What if CPAC had known?
Let's say all this stuff about Cpl. Sanchez's gay porn past had been revealed six months ago. Would he still have received an ovation from all the social conservatives at CPAC?

Would he still have gotten that Jeane Kirkpatrick award from CPAC? Michelle Malkin doesn't think so: "Next time, they should do more extensive background research before handing out an honor with Jeane Kirkpatrick's name on it." That's sad.

Why should Cpl. Sanchez have to hide his past? To his credit, he has chosen to stop making porn films, and that's not uncommon. There are a number of Hollywood actors and reality TV performers who used to do porn but have since "gone legit." But he can never stop being gay.

The anti-gay stance of social conservatives is hurting the Republican Party and the conservative movement generally. Too many gays and lesbians still feel they have to hide their identity in order to fit in. Thus the GOP and the conservative movement are vulnerable to more and more of these "surprises"--folks whom they never suspected of being homosexual turn out to be homosexual, and the Left makes the most of it.

The Left cannot play that game with, say, Tammy Bruce, because she's openly lesbian; and when she appears with conservatives they know what they are getting. Yet that hasn't stopped Tammy Bruce from being friends with social conservatives like Dr. Laura Schlessinger.

jayhuck, some things can't be fixed
jayhuck writes: "Is it any wonder that some gay people are self-loathing when they live in a society that still doesn't allow them to have the same rights as their straight brother's and sisters - when they live in a society that every day gives us another news story about a gay person who was physically or verbally attacked, just for being who they are"

You're right about the first part, but there is very little anyone can do about the second part. There is no way for "society" to change what hate is inside someone's heart. For all I know, right now this very moment, my next-door neighbor may hate my guts for whatever reason. Society can't change that. We're always going to have hateful, irrational individuals, in this society or any other society. All society can do is make sure that such individuals cannot hurt us physically or legally. But there's just no way to stop your next-door neighbor from telling you to your face that he just doesn't like you. If you loathe yourself just because you suspect your neighbors don't like you, that's a problem with your own psychological makeup. When I was a kid, my parents taught me that the more successful I would be in life, the less I would be liked. And that sympathy is something that is usually extended to losers. They were right.

Steve L -
I'm not talking about adults so much as I am kids - I know so many gay kids who have to grow up in a society without a lack of good role models, and with TOO many people telling them that they are either sinful, or don't deserve the same rights as others - I'm sorry, but no matter what excuse you make for our society, those kinds of messages effect someone's upbringing - and unless you're a minority, its going to be hard for you to understand -

HOWEVER - to their credit, millions of gay people are able to overcome a society that still persecutes them and become happy, successful, loving and self-sacrificing individuals, even parents - and many of them are religious. Their strength in the face of adversity is what really impresses me - when you have so many people calling you so many things for so long, and yet be able to rise above it - that is the mark of good character. The gay community definitely deserves our respect

I wonder...
I have not seen any evidence that Sanchez has stopped having homosexual sex. He's never said that, has he? I haven't really been keeping up with this story so I can't be sure. In either case, he should be applauded for leaving the evils of the adult entertainment industry.

Now, what if it turns out that Sanchez still identifies as homosexual? Gay conservatives aren't all that uncommon, after all. Just look at Tammy Bruce, Mary Cheney, and the boys at GayPatriot.com. Will conservatives still be backing him, then? Will they have the decency to do what Leftists seem incapable of doing, and leave a man's private life as such?

I doubt it. Of course, I also doubted that Ann Coulter would ever get the condemnation from conservatives that she deserves, so maybe I'll find myself pleasantly surprised.

On another note...

I always have to grit my teeth when I read a KMC column (and the subsequent comments). Even though I believe in conservative Biblical stances about homosexuality, and am myself celibate, I can't believe some of the vitriol coming from this supposed Christian's pen.

Gay men and women have all the potential to be just as good and moral as any other human, even if their sex lives still aren't all that godly. I'm sure any commenter here with gay close friends or family members knows that. Yes, there are sex addicts and narcissists out there, but saying that such blanket terms apply to all homosexuals is both wrong and unnecessarily hurtful.

I once knew a group of gay Christians. I suppose I am one myself, even though I don't have sex. In either case, though I disagreed with them about certain verses (I took conservative interpretations of the bans on homosexuality while they did not), I have to admit that they were some of the most loving, generous people that I ever met, and one of them actually gave me much needed support when I went about ending my own addiction to pornography. Those with partners were monogamous, and many were virgins who, like any straight Christian, were abstaining from sex until marriage (the validity of such marriages is up for debate, of course).

What I'm saying, I suppose, is that I really wish people would stop using such terms as "perversion" and "abomination" when describing homosexuals. It does no good. It does not call any towards a Bible-based faith, nor does it show us to be loving. Yes, say what you believe and say it proudly, but don't be tactless about it. We were called to be witnesses, not lawyers and judges.

reply to ReaganRepublican
Unfortunately, you really can't be both gay and conservative; one or the other, but not both. Conservatism must, on the basis of principle, oppose homosexuality and must, on pain of gross inconsistency and moral cowardice, issue in laws, public policies, and individual attitudes of condemnation and punishment. The conservative who is aware of and strives to be true to his or her principles must recognize homosexuality as an offense to God and a violation of the laws of nature, as well as a threat to the moral order of society. Since this moral order must itself be modeled on the divine and natural order, homosexuality must be eliminated as much as possible. A combination of prayer, research, and appropriate law enforcement must be deployed against homosexuality and homosexuals. While a final solution is unlikely, conservatives must be vigilant, prayerful, and prepared to take whatever actions are needed.

What I've tried to do here is to summarize as coherently as possible the basic positions of both TH columnists and most of those who post on this issue. My aim is to contribute to a clarification of the positions that conservatives are required to take if they desire to be ideologically coherent. Of course, some people aren't especially coherent when it comes to ideology; my comments are intended to give helpful advice to that end.

ReaganRepublican
You don't need me to say well said, but here I am anyway. I'd say you see things pretty clearly. From your vantage point you also likely see that those who share your political views are not hateful people either. We just don't get all nervous at being called all the names liberals have in their arsenal.

Until the religious right started taking over the conservative parties, Conservative used to mean, more than not, fiscally conservative. You absolutely can be fiscally conservative and be gay - You can't be the relgious right kind of conservative, but you can be the TRADITIONAL kind of conservative, which was less concerned about imposing its moral beliefs on others, and more with the role of government and taxes in the lives of Americans.

Wanda Gag
I've enjoyed reading your posts this morning. I think they are right on (I'm fairly liberal, BTW)
Over the course of my life I have known many, many gay people and I am constantly astonished at the ignorance and smugness I see on these sights.

You are right, there are (and were) many cultures that found ways to accomodate people who were born gay or otherwise gender-disoriented without disrupting the integrity of the cultural group itself. It's out there for anyone who genuinely interested in facts, not just sermonizing, to find.

What we call Homosexual behavior occurs in all cultures, classes, species, and communities, including the Religious-based, however it's also not new for factions of many cultures to demonize them, especially since the early years of Christianity but also prior to that.

I definitely agree that it is all really just sexuality, and contrary to what alot of binary thinkers express on these threads, most people are not perfectly divided into A. totally evil and gay or B. Totally pure and straight.

And,
I really think that rejection of people based on their sexual orientation has more to do with cultural conflicts about the nature of sexuality itself - gay-bashing is just a way of trying to deal with those conflicts.

Everybody knows that this subject is a kind of knee-jerk obsession for Kevin - he just can't seem to get gays off his mind, which is too bad because there are certainly more important things to think about, it would seem.

There is no such thing as a Gay Gene
A Gay Gene has never been discovered ............Period.

There are only men and women in this world.

98% of Gay's are up to their ears in Porn and it is the very reason they got caught up in this life style.

This is settled science. Anyone that disputes it would also deny the Holocaust.

Gay is behavior. Never forget that.

Actually the only ones who say it is not behavior are Gays because they are in denial.

There is a Truth and that is there are only Men and Woman. What they do is called behavior.

Paul - Gay Gene
Um, Paul - there has never been a heterosexual/straight gene discovered either!!!!

There is no evidence anywhere that 98% of gay people are "up to their ears in porn" - If they were, I'd have to wonder how so many have managed to become happy, successful - or to maintain their monogomous relationships, or even be parents. That is just a figure you threw out there to discriminate against gay people - when you've got the millions of straight people who are "up to their ears in porn" under control, then talk to me about some gay people who have a problem with it too.

My question: For all you forgiving (& supportive) Newt fans, would that forgiveness (& support) still extend to Newt if he confessed to having extramarital sex with another guy?

My contention is that what conservatism means now is precisely conveyed by the religious right. Fiscal conservatives who are not on the religious right are a real, but small, component of the Republican base. The Republican party is now, to use a European-style label, a "Christian-Right" party. All else is detail.

- And my contention is that THAT is what the religious right would like to have you believe - The religious right, the powerful Evangelicals and its followers, comprise only 20% of the American population, so while they weild a great deal of power, and while many Republicans bow to thier wishes because they are afraid of them, they in NO WAY SHAPE OR FORM convey what it means to be conservative. The religious right has used every way possible to bully others and scare people so that they have been able to make the gains they have - and of course, they claim they do it in the name of truth - but that's a discussion for a different day
