Shattering 3 Myths About Liberals

Poll
Do you feel the leaked information from a global warming alarmist organization is meaningful?

1) Conservatives are more racist than liberals.Although you will find racists on the left and the right, the left is much more racist on the whole. That's why we still have to create majority black districts in order to get significant numbers of black Americans elected to Congress -- because even though blacks vote overwhelmingly for the Democratic Party, a large percentage of white liberals won't return the favor and vote for black candidates running on the Democratic ticket. According to a study at Yale, "(W)hite Republicans nationally are 25 percentage points more likely on average to vote for the Democratic senatorial candidate when the GOP hopeful is black...In House races, white Democrats are 38 percentage points less likely to vote Democratic if their candidate is black." That 25% of Republicans has nothing to be proud of, but as you can see, the Democrats are far worse.

Meanwhile, another study from a professor at Stanford showed that Democrats were prejudiced about whom they chose to donate money to after Katrina,

"But for Democrats, race mattered -- and in a disturbing way. Overall, Democrats were willing to give whites about $1,500 more than they chose to give to a black or other minority....(While Republican) responses to the assistance questions are relatively invariant across the different media conditions. Independents and Democrats, on the other hand, are more likely to be affected by racial cues."

No big surprise there. Republicans were formed as an anti-slavery party and they believe in a colorblind society, while Democrats supported slavery and were the ones turning water hoses and dogs on black protestors in the sixties. Remember George Wallace? Democrat. Bull Connor? Democrat. But, what about the revolutionary Civil Rights Act of 1964? 82% of Republicans in the Senate voted for it while only 64% of Democrats did. Even today, the driving force behind policies like Affirmative Action is the liberal belief that American blacks are too inferior to make it in America without help from the left. That's why it's too bad so many black Americans have bought into the liberal propaganda about conservatives hating black people. Neither the left nor the right has a monopoly on bigots, but far more of them are on the left than the right.

2) Liberals are more compassionate than conservatives. Just as robbing Peter to pay Paul isn't compassion, taking tax dollars from one person and giving that money to another isn't compassion either. Giving your own time and your own money to help other people? That's real compassion and liberals just don't measure up to conservatives in that area,

It turns out that this idea that liberals give more…is a myth. Of the top 25 states where people give an above average percent of their income, 24 were red states in the last presidential election.

Arthur Brooks, the author of "Who Really Cares," says that "when you look at the data, it turns out the conservatives give about 30 percent more." He adds, "And incidentally, conservative-headed families make slightly less money."

And he says the differences in giving goes beyond money, pointing out that conservatives are 18 percent more likely to donate blood.

3) Liberalism is the ideology of science. It has been said that if we ever have fascism here in America, it will be called anti-fascism. Similarly, it's liberals who politicize science to fit their ideological goals and then declare that their opponents are the ones who have rejected reason. Let's take a look at the two most prominent examples.

The first is stem cell research. The truth is that adult stem cells are far more promising than embryonic stem cells as a potential cure for disease. While adult stem cells have already been used to cure a significant number of diseases, embryonic stem cells haven't even made it to their first human trial yet. That's why there is such a push to acquire taxpayer funds -- because private companies don't think embryonic stem cells are worth the investment.

But, because the left can dupe desperate people like Michael J. Fox into accusing conservatives of withholding a cure from them for religious reasons, they're willing to keep pushing embryonic stem cells for the sake of politics, even though taxpayer money would be much better spent on adult stem cell research. Sure, there are conservatives who have objections to embryonic stem cells on religious grounds, but isn't the fact that embryonic stem cells don't merit taxpayer funding in the first place a much bigger issue?

Then, of course, there's global warming. The earth has always been warming and cooling and because of our limited understanding of the climate, we don't fully understand why. Moreover, our best scientists can't accurately forecast what the weather is going to be like a few months from now, or for that matter, next Friday, yet we have global warming alarmists making wild, absolutely unprovable predictions about what the temperature of the planet will be like in fifty to a hundred years. Additionally, they claim to be certain that mankind is responsible for the one degree temperature increase we've seen over the last century, even though from roughly 1940 to 1975, as man was pumping larger and larger amounts of greenhouse gasses into the atmosphere, the planet was cooling, not warming. As if all that wasn't enough, honest environmentalists will admit that even if man is responsible for global warming, there is no realistic way, with our current technology, to cut our greenhouse gasses enough to make a difference. Let me also add that there is a scientific theory that adequately explains the small increase in temperature we've had over the last century much better than anything Al Gore has ever come up with: that being, the sun, not man is primarily responsible (see here and here for more details).

When people point out all the flaws in the liberal "reasoning" about global warming, the response is almost inevitably an attempt to cut off debate. Scientists who fail to toe the liberal line have their reputations smeared and are compared to Holocaust Deniers.

Moreover, global warming alarmists continually try to claim that there should be more discussion of whether man causes global warming because "consensus" on the issue has been reached in the scientific community. This is despite the fact that there are more than 17,100 scientists who say that,

"There is no convincing scientific evidence that human release of carbon dioxide, methane, or other greenhouse gasses is causing or will, in the foreseeable future, cause catastrophic heating of the Earth's atmosphere and disruption of the Earth's climate."

Why is the left so hellbent on proving that mankind is responsible for global warming, if the facts don’t seem to point in that direction? Because it's a great way for them to attack big business, particularly oil and a wonderful excuse to raise taxes. Additionally, because America has the world's biggest economy, we'd be heavily damaged by ridiculous treaties like Kyoto and the opportunity to punish America for being so successful is a big motivator for the left. So, as you see, it is liberals, not conservatives, who are disregarding science in order to further their political concerns.

All Libs have addressed the facts
All Conservatives have addressed the myths.
"Mommy, why do bad things happen?" says child.
"Child, it's because of Liberals. It's all their fault we lost the election. It's all their fault that we can't macro-manage a war. Every time we fail, everytime we doubt, it's always the fault of a Liberal. We never make mistakes and are never in need of forgiveness or redemption."

liberals
As usual liberals are delusional and clueless. No matter what facts are presented they cling to their party with blind faith. It has become their religion.

will

Nobody is denying the ME situation (to use a loose term) is a mess.

We walked into an ambush of tribal communities who are skilled at protecting their territories. They became skilled when Islam decided they wanted all Muslims to act like they do hundreds of years ago.

Why didn't Bush know all this before we went in?

I don't want to make excuses for him. He, like anyone else, is only as good as the information he gets. It is obvious what the CIA, Cheney, Rumsfeld and others were telling him wasn't very good.

Bush isn't a quitter. I think he would really like to get this situation right-side-up ASAP. Recently, things have been going a little bit better. Even Brian Williams (NBC News) remarked that the Baghdad area is much calmer than the last time he was there.

We know that many insurgents have left the area. The rules of engagement have changed with the new commander who is in charge over there.

There seems to be a little light at the end of tunnel, but I don't think anyone really knows for sure how this "war" will play out. If the Iraqi government can get a toe-hold and maintain its sovereignty, I think it would be "Mission Accomplished".

Should we leave the area at that point?

I really don't think that is part of the plan. We have left our forces in a number of countries after we have "conquered" them and I strongly suspect we will do the same in the ME. Until we can get our energy problems solved here at home, we are going to have to make sure the oil spigots continue to flow over there.

Gasoline is over $3.00 a gallon here. Ouch!

rogue nations
Has anyone found it curious that the countries we have deemed "rogue nations" are also the very same countries who are not controlled by central banks and also have not bought into the New World Order elitist plan for world government?

Curious, don't you think?

jetpilot
Do you think we need to go to the center or stand for principles? I think it is the latter. It's shocking to me that very few seem to have these anymore.

another ex of a liberal lie as science
Another rather staggering and spurious example of promoting the myth that liberal thinking is somehow more scientifically aware and correct than the conservative position is the whole issue about whether homosexuals can or cannot move on to opposite sex attractions and live a satisfying heterosexual lifestyle. Of course, gay activists and their liberal enabling sympathizers in the APA's, AMA, etc. say that same sex attractions are inerascible for most, if not genetic, and that it's the heterosexual who is more apt to experience a shift towards homosexuality later in life; not the gay towards straight. Of course, there is absolutely is no scientific evidence for this liberal view, even though the APA is now considering making change therapy unethical. Why? (Need I ask?)They are for exclusively sociopolitical reasons. And, again, just as with stem cell research and global warming, they are being intellectually dishonest and insincerely attribute their position to science. The past 50 years and more of indepth and painstaking scientific research, even among the results of those researchers who are obviously leftist in their purposes for even doing a study, clearly points in the opposite direction; the direction towards change towards heterosexuality!

Have you ever heard this before? Sadly, if not, I'm sorry that this is just now news to you. If interested, read Dr. Jeffrey Satinover's 24 page synopsis about research history on this issue at NARTH.com (National Association of Research and Therapy on Homosexuality). It is called "The Trojan Couch". It'll surely shed those scales of liberal deception right off one's eyes!

Best regards,

Thomas J Morey, IMFT, PsyD
Clinical Member of NARTH

jetpilot...
You seem very bitter about everything and anything... I think I said that you should try and turn the negative sheisse in your life around...doesn't it waste energy to be this pissed off all the time? And,if indeed you hate the military so much, please seperate and let someone else do the job. I read your posts and there is some sense, but lots of anger...Yikes!

You wrote (amonst a whole bunch of other things:)

"I'm conservative and libertarian. Strong defense, smaller gov, stay out of our personal lives, balanced budgets, strong education, care for children/elderly and poor (per the bible), respect for the constitution and common sense policies on abortion, gays and guns, not theological ones."

If you believe in PUBLIC education, and government provided welfare for children/elderly and poor, you are NOT a conservative libertarian, but rather a leftist/socialist.

If you believe that a woman has a RIGHT to choose as opposed to the POWER to choose, and you believe that POWER should be mandated for all on a national level by judicial fiat, then you are a HEARTLESS, leftist/socialist.

If you believe in common sense erosions of the Bill of Rights - gun policy - then you have no respect for our Americanist tradition.

All the dirty laundry you wrote about (some of it poorly informed) notwithstanding, liberal democrats remain the party of Statism and galloping Socialism - basically anti American. It shows in their words and actions. Their comportment is traitorous.

Spare me your self-righteous, cut and paste indignation.

Wow self serving, YOU ARE BETTER THAN ME
This is the most self serving piece of el-cr@p-O I have seen in a while. Its duplicitous. Its crazy. Yes of course Republicans are better, right. Keep saying that. Any criticism of the GOP is not true or fair, right? It can't be.

Look at the facts. If a person from another planet looked at the US government, based on the last 6 years, what would they see?

#######
As the bible says, its not the words you speak,
its the fruits of your actions.
#######

This article is blaaa blaaa blaaaa. To win you need to attack the other party? That is the plan right. Why? POWER, and power is MONEY? Great but it hurts America. We need to debate facts not fiction and personalities.

Republicans can't be so insecure and pathetic that to feel better they must attack others. Just LOOK in a mirror before you pick that stone up to throw.

HUMMMMMM Actions?

Actions actions actions actions, the fruit of your actions. GOP is great. Forget the past, Lincoln! Ha ha ha oh please that is retarded. George W Bush is not Lincoln. Reagan dare I say was not that great of a President, but at least he did not embarrass America. Also the fall of USSR was from +30 years of cold war not just Reagan. In fact Carter started the military build up before Reagan. Ouch!

Deal with the hear and now. YOUR PARTY IS A MESS, A WORLD WIDE SHAME and HURTS AMERICA. Deal with it.

Hold your BOYS accountable and stop defending the indefensible, BOTH SIDES. Just look at Libby and Fox news, NOT GUILTY ON ONE COUNT! Please Liars are liars and when its top Gov officials it undermines our whole system and a slap in the face of everyone. You have hypocrites attacking Clinton's Lie (which was wrong) while being an adulterer (Nut Gingrich). When will the madness stop. Rudy did what? Wow his job and he has been married 3 times. I don't care, but it this best the GOP has to offer?

------------------------------------------------
Here are Republican / conservative LOW-Lights:

+Katrina: A travesty, disaster on so many levels. Republicans LOVE poor people. Right? IT also shows how Bush has hired his buddies regardless of ability. "Brown-ee is doing a heck of a job." Fired. "Rumsfeld can say as long as he likes". Fired. A Joke.

+Linda Chavez (R), nominated Sec of Labor derailed by employment of illegal alien (2001)

+Enron collapse (2002) leading to investigation of Kenneth Lay, a top political ally and financial donor to the election campaign of President George W. Bush; Lay, had been named as a leading candidate for Secretary of the Treasury, eventually indicted (2004).

(Good OL BOY SYSTEM)

+Trent Lott (R-MS) resigned as Senate majority leader amid racial controversy

+Bill Frist (R-TN), becomes Senate majority leader and is alleged to have been deeply involved in campaign finance improprieties.

+Yellowcake forgery. Evidence alleged to be forged was presented in the case for 2003 invasion of Iraq (2003); related Valerie Plame affair (2004)

+Abu Ghraib torture and prisoner abuse scandal (2004-2005) (Commander in Chief, "Geneva convention is quaint and does not need to be followed", Rumsfeld: "Its half way around the world we can't control what goes on there from DC". (Great leadership?)

+Tom DeLay (R-TX), reprimanded twice by House Ethics Committee and aides indicted (2004-2005); eventually DeLay himself was indicted (October 2005); Delay resigned from the House 9 June, 2006 (ONE OF THE MOST Partisan people ever in office, goodriddance. Of course FOX news has him on with other shamed politicians and convicted felons like heroes! WHAT THE HECK?)

+Bernard Kerik, nomination as Secretary of Homeland Security derailed by past employment of illegal alien as nanny, and amid allegations of various other ethical improprieties (2004) (WHY DON'T WE HAVE THE BOARDER SECURE AND enforcement? GOP needs Nannie's and gardener's)

+Bush administration payment of columnists including Armstrong Williams, Maggie Gallagher and Michael McManus (2004-2005)
**(VAST RIGHT WING MEDIA Conspiracy?)**

+Downing Street Memo minutes of UK government secret meeting (dated 23 July 2002, leaked 2005) include summary of MI6 Director Sir Richard Dearlove's report that "Bush wanted to remove Saddam, through military action, justified by the conjunction of terrorism and WMD. But the intelligence and the facts were being fixed around the policy."

+George Allen EX-Senator from Virginia, saying macaca to a Webb campaign volunteer. Failed to produce stock options, long affinity with the Confederate flag. Racist.

+Rush Limbaugh: (former? drug addict) Leading (self professed) right water carrier mouth piece calls Black QB overrated because he is black. Calls Barak Obama a "Half-rican American. Makes fun of Michael J. Fox, who has Parkinson's disease with spastic movements. Watch groups point to huge gaps in accuracy of his comments.

+Ann Coulter: Tall skinny woman? with an adams apple and strangely deep voice while still shrill and snobby sounding, lets loose with vulgar and hateful words. Says widows (Jersey Girls) are happy for their husbands death and would have been divorced anyway if their husbands lived. (ah funny compassionate conservatives)

+Global Warming: Not only do conservatives disagree but attack it viciously and personally, with paranoia. Clearly capitalism and environmentalism don't mix, sadly. Big industry like petroleum companies pay for the anti-global warming view. There is some truth in both sides, but should we not care at ALL?

+Duke Cunningham (R-CA) Prosecutors said Cunningham admitted to receiving at least $2.4 million in bribes. (WAY TO GO)

+Jack Abramoff, Republican lobbyist and key figure in Tom DeLay scandal, is indicted on wire fraud charges (August 2005). Mostly GOP bribes, a few Dems (but no doubt only because GOP was in power.)

+Abramoff-Reed Indian Gambling Scandal A separate grand jury investigation involving Jack Abramoff, Ralph Reed and Grover Norquist

+Rep. Mark Foley (R-FL), Gay predator of young male pages.

+Perversion (mark foley, ted haggard)

+Pork Barrel spending by republicans like Alaska bridge to no where and a parkway that gos by republican (Dennis Hastert) owned land top the list.

+Disdain for the poor? Katrina? What have they done for the poor? Tax cut for rich.

+Co-opting religion for politics and corrupting religions leaders, who are drunk with new found power or fame, thanks to the Rove plan, which has put a wedge in the country. Do you think the anti-christian back lash or "culture war" is random? No its from crazy BS like government (GOP) pandering to the uber social/religious right with crazy talk and involvement in areas that the Gov has no business (Terry Schiavo).

------------------------------------------------

Are you Proud of Conservatism? Extreme Authoritarism? Theocracy? Fascism? I suppose there is personalities that are pulled to this kind of ideology. May be its the way you where raised?

Our founding fathers set up a more perfect UNION. Stop messing with it and using FEAR (Bush/GOP USED terrorism for political gain, fact. A vote for Dem is a vote for terrorism slogan should have outraged everyone. Rudy Giuliani is no terror expert. He just happened to be mayor of NY. His handling of ground Zero is debatable.)

The wedge in this country is squarely on the GOP, Bush and Rove's shoulders. Separation of church and state is a wise thing. Religion is great and should work on saving souls in church, not getting into politics. James Dobson, Jerry Falwell and Pat Robertson don't speak for me. In fact as a Christian I don't speak in tongues and roll around on the floor. BTW, my pastor is straight and married and does not like little alter boys, male pages or gay prostitutes.

Why do "evangelicals" have so much power over the GOP? Is it because they found they could get votes by playing the religion card. IT IS EVIL. Has Falwell and Robertson said and done weird things? Yep. The are polarizing at best and just off base from the scriptures often and seem to MAKE IT UP as they go. These guys have the ear of the GOP!

The devil will not have horns and forked tail, but will come wrapped as a faults prophet and seem to be holy. Think about it. It's in the bible.

Theocracies like the Taliban in Afghanistan and the religious Iraq sectarian violence (CIVIL WAR) should convince you that religion and GOVERMENT is a bad thing. Stop kissing the A of the evangelicals (what ever that is or who ever they are). One group should not have disproportional power. This is the separation of church and state, dummy. Like wise big business should not control the government like they now do.

-NO ONE is with out Sin.
-YOU are not better than a liberal or democrat or any other American. (SO STOP TRYING TO CONVINCE YOURSELF, ACTIONS!!!)
-NO party is better or has a monopoly on good ideas or people
-Throwing the First Stone? To you Holier than Thou, I rebuke you)

We are all Americans. You better look at the deficient spending by YOUR BOYS and the bankruptcy of America by 2024. You better look at Terrorism & Islamic radicals for the LONG HAUL. We are LUCKY we have not had a large scale attacked again. Iraq is a success! Yea, we won. The people of Iraq however have losers, since they want to kill each others and embrace terror.

How about Globalization of trade, jobs, border security, gov corruption, out of control spending, immigration, health care, Social Security, environment, independence from foreign oil....

If you make your policy to get votes from the religious far rights, with their very picky and special agenda, we will be screwed. Forget Roe v Wade, its not getting overturned. You can’t stop people from being GAY, and we don’t need sub-machine-guns in every household. As much as YOU would love there be no abortions, everyone was straight and criminals had no guns, while every Granny was packing, it ain't going to happen.

The GOP is a disaster. STOP SAYING HOW GREAT YOU ARE OR YOUR PARTY IS, YOU ARE NOT SPECIAL AND YOUR PARTY IS NOT EITHER. I mean the GOP is organized and in LOCK STEP with their coordinated talking points and agendas, but that is a good thing turned bad. Authoritarians taking it too far is NOT good.

Ignoring the Bill-O-Rights and constitution is BAD. You can't MAKE people follow your ideology or religion or morals. Democrats are disorganized and like the right, they are pulled in the opposite direction by the far left. We NEED BOTH types. We need a NATION STANDING TOGETHER, forget the small stuff and join in the middle.

WE ARE A COUNTRY OF MANY GREAT PEOPLE THAT ARE MODERATE, compassionate and tolerant of others. If you say YOU are ALL those things and spend your time attacking the LIBIRALS, you are in fact a hypocrite and a liar.

I'm conservative and libertarian. Strong defense, smaller gov, stay out of our personal lives, balanced budgets, strong education, care for children/elderly and poor (per the bible), respect for the constitution and common sense policies on abortion, gays and guns, not theological ones.

It seems you can't be a GOP'er or "Evangelical" if you are not Holier than thou. That is Sad. You spend so much time saying how great you are and how bad everyone else is. Pathetic.

Bush and his administration has abused their power with total disregard to "The people", the constitution, law and did so while displaying horrific LEADERSHIP. Strong WILL is great, but strong WILL with stupidity and ignorance is an abomination.

Pollsters

They are being commissioned to bring certain results. If they do, they will be hired again. If not, they can look for new clients. Thus, the questions are intentionaly framed to yield the desired results.

On certain polls, I have written to the pollsters and asked them who paid them to conduct the poll they worked on.

They will not reveal the information to the general public.

Mac Moore
Without seeing the actual wording of a poll it means nothing.
Usually they word that kind of poll so it tosses the anti-war and those angry about the PC way it is conducted in the same bag.
How many is what?
The poll is useless for anything but propaganda.
Pollsters don't just slant questions to solicit specific answers.
They also have lists of Democrats, Republicans, Conservationists, etc., and they call a certain number from each list to get whatever result the customer is paying for.
The most honest poll you can find is at;
http://www.vote.com
They will be running a poll on whatever issue is hot. You get to see the wording and vote!

87.2% Of All Statistics

Are made up on the spot.

98.875 percent of all "liberals" adore Fidel and Che.

Nuff sed

Will -- says polls say less than 29%
What poll are you quoting that states less than 29% are for this war? My guess is that you are using conjecture to deliver your argument. Did the poll specifically say, are you for this war? I doubt it. As I see it, America has no qualms with the wars that we have been engaged in, as long as we are the victors. For most Americans, Bush was doing just fine (was elected in office twice and given more Congressional seats three times) until there seemed to be predominate reports that we were losing. As I see it, the last election did not say quit, but it did say to get back to winning this war as we commissioned you to do in the first place. Bush is working on it. You may not agree with this assesment, but Congress does and that is why Congress will continue to support the war. Although, to make you happy, they will pretend to hate it while they support it. Americans will not accept another defeat and Veteran abuse like Viet Nam.

Would you buy a used car from this man?
More on Gore.

Gore also claimed to be the inspiration for "Love Story".

Let's see, the protagonist in LS came from a very wealthy family and went to an Ivy League school. So far, so good, but that's where most of the similaritites end.

As an undergrad, the hero in LS studied law and played hockey. Gore studied his navel as an undergrad and can hardly stand in shoes, let alone on skates.

After graduating, our LS hero went to Law School. He was supported by his intellectually briliant wife, who taught choir at a local parochial school, because his father disowned him for marrying a common girl of whom he didn't approve.

After Al Gore graduated from Yale, he went to Divinity School and flunked out. His dad continued to support him from the family fortune. His intellectually fatuous wife started a crusade against the way Hollywood shamelessly used sex, drugs, violence, and crude language to sell its movies and TV shows until she found out that Hollywood was a big donor to the DNC.

After our LS hero graduated from law school he landed a great job with a great law firm. Everything was perfect until his wife came down with leukemia. He had to go ask his father for the money he needed to treat her. He got it by lying about why he needed it, saying he had got some girl pregnant.

After Gore flunked out of Divinity school he inherited his father's seat in the U. S. Senate, where he had a perfect voting record against abortion and gun control until he came down with Presidentitis, a common affliction among US Senators. It's symptoms include delusions of self-importance, amnesia with respect to long held beliefs and principles about government, and a total disregard for the truth whenever something else will raise more campaign cash, get more votes, or make a better sound bite.

Our Love Story hero's wife eventually dies, shortly before Christmas. When his father learns of the tragedy he aplogizes for the way he treated his son. Our hero delivers the signature line of the story; "Love means never having to say you're sorry."

Al Gore's political career also died shortly before Christmas. When it did he left us with the signature line to his whole life: "I used to be the next President of the United States".

Some inspiration.

Even more Gore:

"Count every vote."

Well, not exactly. Let's just recount the "undervotes" in the four counties in Florida where most of the undervotes will be added to Gore's total.

"Count every vote."

Well, not exactly. Let's find/create/invent a legal technicality to disqualify the votes of servicemen on duty overseas, including the men serving on the USS Cole, which was the target of a successful terrorist attack earlier that year.

"I used to be the next President of the United States."

Actually, no. Gore LOST the original vote count. Gore LOST the first recount. Gore LOST all recounts taken thereafter.

In fact, the only thing Gore won was a ruling from the 7 Democrats on the Supreme Court of Florida (forever after to be known as "SCOFLA") that called for a complete hand recount of every paper ballot in the possession of the state's county canvassers. Even this whacked-out, politically biased ruling/power grab did not declare Gore the winner. It only called for yet another recount.

After the US Supreme Court over-ruled SCOFLA by a 7-2 count, Gore hired a consultant to see if he could "flip" three members of the Electoral College in a last-ditch, desperate effort to steal the Presidency.

He found that the Republicans in the Electoral College weren't as corrupt as he was.

And finally, recounts done by the MSM under the Freedom of Information Act several months after Bush was sworn in all showed Bush to have won, except one. That recount, done according to the criterai Bush wanted, and which Gore opposed, had Gore winning by 3 votes. All other counts, including the MSM recount done by the criteria Gore's lawyers requested in their court filing, had bush winning by hundreds of votes.

Gore handled his defeat with his usual aplomb. He grew a beard, got fat, and went on the lecture circuit where he was seen/heard screeching that Bush "played on our fears" in making the case for war against Saddam Hussein.

Now it is Gore who is trying to play on our fears. He has predicted that the world will be unliveable in 10 years due to global warming. Rush Limbaugh is conducting a countdown on his website.

Based on past performance, my money is on Rush.

The guy who did the most to make the internet available to everyone was Bill Gates. Compared to Gates, whatever Al Gore may actually have done (even in his/your dreams) was insignificant. For Gore (or you) to claim that he made the internet possible is like the guy who drives a new car off the assembly line claiming he built the car.

BTW - It's a matter of public record how the Clinton Administration (in which Gore served as VP) rewarded Gates for making the internet possible. They sued him.

"It seems to me, whether you believe that it exist or not, that everyone would want to leave their children a better place to live, where there is cleaner water, cleaner air and a better standard of living."

Anthropogenic Global Warming (AGW) has NOTHING to do with pollution. The theory of AGW states that carbon dioxide levels in the atmosphere are increasing and that this increase is causing the atmosphere to retain more of the sun's heat.

AGW is completely separate from the kind of pollution you are talking about that fouls the air and water. Carbon dioxide (CO2)is NOT a pollutant. It is what you exhale when you breathe. It is what plants use to turn sunlight into usable, consumable matter through a process known as photosynthesis. Plants process CO2 and release oxygen, which animals inhale and return back CO2. It is a symbiotic relationship that has worked well for thousands of years.

And we will NOT have a better standard of living if we reduce our use of fossil fuels without replacing it with some other practical form of energy. Less energy use means a contracted economy (worldwide), lower wages, higher unemployment, class envy, and all kinds of other civil strife (can anyone say "The Great Depression"?).

You also wrote:

"There is so much money to be made in finding alternative fuels (ala Bush proposal), recycling, fish farms, etc... The potential for green technology is already bearing fruit in many places."

If there is one thing you can rely upon in the US economy it is the profit motive. If there were money to be made in the industries you mentioned you can be sure that private entrepreneurs would already be doing it. They would be doing it without the government's help or persuasion and in spite of whatever obstacles government put in their path. If they're not doing it that means they can't make money on it.

Finally, you wrote:

"So stop whining about whether Global Warming exist or not, and work toward a cleaner enviroment without negatively affect society as a whole, it can be done. "

You are a perfect example of why the left should not lead. You don't even understand the difference between CO2 and pollution, but you deride those of us who do as "whin[ers]". Before you lecture me that I should support those who want to impose their restrictions on my daily life and prosperity in the name of AGW you should at least learn the technological differences between the theory of CO2-induced global warming and air pollution.

You are one more case of the uneducated and misinformed presuming to lecture the rest of us (You started your post off well. You started it with "I don't understand..." It's the only thing in your post you got right.)

Nice spin on what Gore said but too many people heard it and when questioned he repeated it. Ever since then, in true liberal fashion, many have tried to rewrite history.

To Pappy
Fool, Al Gore never claimed to have invented the Internet. He claimed to have been instrumental in Congressional shaping of the Internet so that you and I, and not just the military and academics, can use it. And that was true---he did what he said he did. And since this has been pointed out around six million times, either you are oblivious to all that goes on around you, or you deliberately repeat a lie. Which is it?

Serious Question
I co-teach high school American History with another teacher. We were discussing discrimination and he brought up the concept of Affirmative Action (without ever naming it), and then proceeded to give a simplistic example to support it.

The next period when I was leading the discussion, I decided if we were going to discuss it, we should call it by name and then tell what it is. He went a little nuts when I gave a basic definition.

Can someone please give me a definition of Affirmative Action as it is used?

anti-socialist
is absolutely correct and Algore is a perfect example. He jet sets aroung the country burning up fuel pluting the air. Has a mansion that burns 20 times more electricity than the average household. Oh but of course he buys carbon set asides that ease his conscience. How much does a set aside cost? Perhaps I could sell mine (do I get any start with?) and buy a bicycle so the elitists like Gore live the good life.

Wrong. During the Vietnam War, some draftees were sent to the USMC and not all draftees who were sent to the US Army were put into the infantry.

The draft was a mechanism in the federal law that required ALL qualified American males to serve 6 years in the military. They could be drafted and place in any branch of the armed forces.

Oh, I didn't realize that global warming was a plot to overthrow the government and turn us into an oppressed, dictator-led country.

Who would have thought?

Global warming is a farce
Science proves that global warming is neither caused by man nor controllable by man whereas Marxist/Communist/Nazi propaganda states that global warming is caused by man so as to convince the "useful idiots" to accept oppression while the fascist dictators live a life of luxury.

timatotoro
A lot of people do not disagree that global warming exists. The question is whether man is causing it. Leading scientists do NOT agree. Before we go off furthering the UN's plan called, Agenda 21, don't you think we should be a little more sure of the cause?

Agenda 21:
http://www.newswithviews.com/Morrison/joyce36.htm

Global Warming?
I don't understand with people who identify themselves as "conservatives" have a hard time with Global Warming. It seems to me, whether you believe that it exist or not, that everyone would want to leave thier children a better place to live, where there is cleaner water, cleaner air and a better standard of living. There is so much money to be made in finding alternative fuels (ala Bush proposal), recycling, fish farms, etc... The potential for green technology is already bearing fruit in many places.

In my mind, the alarmist are those who have a knee jerk reaction to the Global Warming thing, as thought, those who advocate change, do not care about the humans who are affected. It's a false dicotomy that is created and thats simply ridiculous. If we do not wise up, Europe and Asia will once again surpass us in technology and market share, think Toyota!

So stop whining about whether Global Warming exist or not, and work toward a cleaner enviroment without negatively affect society as a whole, it can be done.

justone - I have some questions:
What do you want, or see as a need? What do you think it would take for you to vote for small gov't? What would it take for you to vote to dismantle domestic failed programs? What will it take to see people as just people without a hyphen or a designation?
What would it take to correct a culture of privilege and entitlement to one of work ethics and achievement? What will encourage individual expectations of giving as opposed to taking?

I'm asking serious questions and would like your considered response.
Thank you.

I've looked in on
a lot of different sites and I've never seen anything about Blacks being genetically inferior. Not much I want to say on this other then I work with a lot of different types of people and it amazes me how being white I feel that Blacks are prejudiced against me. Some of them let their feelings known. A few that I'm friends with tell me that they know some Blacks that teach there children to hate whites.

MyOpine
I know, MyOpine. That is what most everything is about in my opinion, including what we are doing in the Middle East.

I agree that it is going to get much worse. Why is it that you trust the word of these very same people and much worse, trust them with your liberty? Once liberty is taken, it rarely is returned.

Yes, if someone broadcast ANY timetable for retreat I would be angry at the fool who betrayed our plans to the enemy.

WE are already in a World War.
Perhaps this will widen your view.

There was another much larger victory a few days ago.
That is good news AND bad news because the troops who were forced to retreat from those countries will head straight for Iraq.

I hope you can see now that what you LIKE has no bearing on this war?
I hope you are not puting me on with a dumb act.

I am against ALL infringements on our Constitution, including the ones you named. I know that you believe that radical Islam is the worst thing we are facing. IF I believed that they were all out to get us, well then, I'd agree with you. However, I do not.

You see, when we are surrounding a country with warships and beating the war drums to try to get the American public behind an attack, while at the same time subsidizing Israel who is itching to blow Iran into oblivion, I'm not too sure this is a way to win complimentary remarks from Iran. Tell me, if you were Iranian, what would you think? Be honest.

There is no doubt that there *are* some radical Islamics that want to harm us, such as Bin Laden. I'm all for going after him. I hadn't heard that he was in IRAN.... have you heard otherwise?

If this was all about our safety and security, don't you think they would have secured our borders by now? I mean, seriously! How do you explain this away?

Please allow me to add on to, "MyOpine" with some excerpts from the book, "Islam and Terrorism" by Mark A. Gabriel, Ph.D.

Gabriel studied the Koran for nine years and changed his name from Arabic for "security reasons".

He has a chapter in the book called, "Muhammad Declares Jihad". In verse Surah 9:29, it says the Muslim must fight four kinds of people:

1. Those who don't believe in Allah

2. Those who don't believe in the last day

3. Those who do things that Allah and Muhammad have forbidden

4. Those who don't acknowledge Islam as the truth, i.e., "people of the Scripture," who are the Jews and Christians.

Gabriel goes on to say that, "Muhammad gave people three options:

1. They could accept the message of Islam.

2. They could remain Jews or Christians but pay a special tax (jizyah), which is traditionally levied once a year.

3. They could die."

"The results of Muhammed's options were that the majority accepted the message of Islam, the wealthy unbeliever paid high taxes. and the rest were forced to go to war."

I really don't know if GWB had any idea of what he got this country into by sending our military into the M.E., but it is no doubt it is a hornet's nest.

Can we get out of it? Easy, just "Redeploy the troops". But, that doesn't look to me like it will solve the problem we are having over there. I think there is a lot of truth to fighting them over there instead of in our country.

We already know hundreds - maybe thousands - of Iranians, Syrians and Iraqis have crossed our Southern borders into our country. The Border Patrol has said so.

We already know perhaps as many as two million African-Americans have been recruited while in prison to join the Islamic movement.

We already know there are hundreds of thousands of Muslims living in America going to mosques every day of the week.

We already know Muslims have "infiltrated" positions of leadership in governmental agencies.
One of the latest is Keith Ellison from Minnesota who was recently elected as a Congressman. Even though in office less than two months, he is working on impeaching the president.

From the international news reports that I have reading, it seems to me too many terrorist states are supporting the Democratic efforts to get us out of the ME. Maybe, just maybe, they want our troops out of there so they can devote more attention to striking our country. They certainly appear to me to be ready to do that just about anytime they want with as many people as they already have in place in this country.

You wanted me to flag posts that are racist in nature. Well, here's another one... the genetic inferiority of the black race.

I've got one here, and one on the "Obama in Selma" column that I've got to beat down.

If you guys aren't racist, feel free to join me anytime.

About the war...
why are we funding AlQueda then?

Genetics
If you're going to trot out the old "genetics" argument (circa Nazi Germany)

How about telling me how you are defining race, and how that is a scientific fact?

Since the days of slavery, we've functioned under this "one drop" law. Simply put, because it was economically advantageous to not give up valuable slaves by letting them traipse off into "whiteness," even though they were quite often the offspring of the plantation owner.

So, rather than let the kids go free and lose all that free labor, better to still call them "black."

Blackness and whiteness are categories that have developed as a reaction to slavery. Simply put: "black" = slave/property; "white" = free.

Most of the "black" people here in the United States have white ancestry. It's no secret.

Define race before you trot out that dead horse.

Just trying to shed light on the topic.
Sorry if I offended you.

If someone walks up to you and starts swinging, do you have any options other than to fight or get beaten?

Try to put that on a WORLD WIDE SCALE.
Some people seem incapable of understanding the size and scope of this war. This war is being waged Worldwide, in all parts of Europe, asia and Africa. Who or how the war started is lost in several centuries of history. Attempts to drag America into this war also date back many decades.
America was formally dragged into this war when Carter showed a yellow streak and failed to respond to the Iran Embassy attack. The al-Qaeda attack on 9/11 forced America to fight back or be slaughtered like sheep. Blame at this date is irrelevant. Libs who have dramatized this war for politics and delude themselves about gaining power if Republicans loose a war can't seem to grasp the fact that America will become part of a Caliphate if we loose this war and nearly all male Americans will be punished and executed for denying Allah. Iraq is an important battlefield in the WOT. A retreat from Iraq would betray millions of trusting allies and leave them to be tortured and slaughtered.
It would surrender control of Iraqi oil to Iran and greatly enhance our enemy's power. al-Qaeda would be given an entire nation to draft, equip and train terrorists using Petro Dollars. The land would eventually need to be retaken at a higher cost in life because none would dare be our Ally after we betrayed all who trusted us before. Radical Islam intends to conquer America in the Biblical sense using the Koran.
Have you noticed whenever the body of anyone captured alive by IslamoNazis is found there is evidence of extensive torture? Information is not the object and nothing but death will end it . The true believer thinks he will be rewarded in Paradise for every pain he inflicts on an Infidel. Civilians often purchase Infidel captives so they can punish and kill them to obtain rewards in Heaven. Anyone who does not own a firearm would be easy to capture alive. This war won't end in Iraq. It will take several decades more to end this war and it will not end just because some whimpering whoosies don't like it.
No one likes war, least of all the soldiers who must fight it.
Wars don't end by anyones personal LIKES or dislikes.
I am really sorry if any libs are inconvenienced by this war!

Due to the kind & lenght of war, often I wonder if Clinton was wrong in delaying our involvement as long as he did.

MyOpine
discovery channel is a some times cool channel but they are far from last word on what has happened. Allot of people beleive allot of differnt things. We simply do not know what happened to create the grand canyon.
What we should do as a inquiring society is say "this is why I beleive this has happend", and then state your reasons.
There is no absolutes when there can be testing. Remember OJ we could prove what happened there when every one knows what happened.
For along time we beleived water flowed up hill for eons of time to help carve out the Grand Canyon.

Settle down....
First of all, I don't come here to read petty squabbles. I recommend the following: Once a personal attack is levied, just ignore it.
Secondly, since when did racism become a 'liberal' or 'conservative' based ideology? It is an ignorant ideology. There are racists on both sides.
Needless to say, I USED to identify myself with the left, but find myself more and more disgusted by the tactics and ideology of the left. I attribute this to the way the left has handled our current President.
Now for some history:
The Republican Party was established in 1854 by a coalition of former Whigs, Northern Democrats, and Free-Soilers who opposed the expansion of slavery and held a vision for modernizing the United States.
That is a documentable fact. It is not opinion, nor can one dispute that fact. Unless of course, they resort to illogical speculation.
Now, let's examine some very racist liberal ideology:
While there were great strides made by the left in terms of the civil rights movement, this was in spite of staunch opposition from southern democrats who vehemently opposed equality.
Affirmative action has racist undertones. It is built around the redress of past issues, but essentially tries to make up for the past by saying that those less qualified get preferential treatment based on their skin color instead of their merits. Most black people that I am friendly with find this policy entirely racist. Yes, there is an institutional issue at stake her - poor communities have to deal with lower educational standards but there is absolutely nothing stopping a person from excelling if they apply themselves. An 'A' is still an 'A', regardless of the color of the student who earns it. I have met and befriended far too many intellectuals who are black to believe that there is no way to overcome this perceived injustice. if anything, it fueled their desire to excel.
Rather than discuss more, I'll leave it at that.
I will say this, if the right is more racist than the left, I wonder how Colin Powell got his job, how condoleeza rice got her job, how Clarence Thomas (a conservative) was appointed, how so many latino's and women hold critical jobs in government.
Let's discuss global warming (climate change, you pick the name to use) for a moment.
The left regularly accuses the right of using fear to sell ideas. So what was 'An Inconvenient Truth' if not a work of fear? Why are so many climatologists and meteorologists derided and ridiculed when they try to discuss the issue? Furthermore, science is supposed to stem from an issue, not a determination of blame. The left funds the theory of Global Warming and was focused, from the beginning, on proving that it comes from man. When scientists came up with alternative theories, they are ignored. I just read the other day about other possible causes of climate change, ranging from cosmic rays to the sun to radiation. Why are these theories tossed away like yesterday's trash?
According to the National Environmental Satellite, Data and Information Service, the average temperature in the month of February fell almost 2 degrees when compared with the average over the 100-year period between 1901 and 2000. In fact, we've just experienced the 34th coldest February in the last 113 years.
Was this reported by the MSM? Of course not. Al Gore would not approve.
And when it is pointed out that the 'credits' that Gore purchases and encourages others to purchase are really nothing more than stock in a company that is partially owned by Gore, why doesn't the left get upset?
Because he's 'their guy'.
Stem cell research came up too. I'm not sure why, but regardless... Why is the left so eager to force this agenda? Evidence points to the fact that adult stem cell research is not only more effective, but easier for all sides to digest. By the way, is stem cell research illegal? Didn't think so. So why doesn't the left fund embryonic stem cell research privately? Oh, right. It's the GOVERNMENTS job to cure the country of it's ills. So long as the job goes to the lowest bidder. That makes me feel better.
Let's talk about the ridiculous idea that we should nationalize healthcare.... Our government has trouble paving roads and responding to hurricane devastation. Walter Reed didn't happen in a vaccuum, it is a shining example of governmental healthcare. Do you expect the government, a body that writes difficult to understand tax code, to be MORE efficient?
Socialized medicine relies on a redistribution of wealth, which stands against our nations beliefs and economic system. Don't we pay enough taxes as it is? Do you REALLY think that the left will only increase taxes on the wealthy? Hogwash. Here in Illinois, our democratic governor just proposed a tax increase that will affect every single small business in the state. What small businesses? Plumbers, electricians, and convenience store owners. Middle class america will foot the bill and will be hurt even more, in a financial sense.
If you look at Canada, you start to understand the implausability of such a system. Sure, Canadians have healthcare, but the wait to get into a hospital for treatment can span months or years. According to the Fraser Institute, waiting times in Canada, across all specialties, averaged 17.7 weeks in 2005. My mother just had knee replacement surgery. She had to wait three weeks because her doctor, the best in the area (maybe in the country) was too busy to fit her in any sooner. In Canada, she would get who ever was available and would have had to have waited an average of 17 weeks. That works out to an extra three months of hobbling around in extreme pain. She's already 2 weeks out and in virtually no pain. Please tell me which of these systems work.
The real way to lower costs is not to provide free health care. I don't think that mr. and mrs. america needs to know the name of the latest prescription drugs. Perhaps the huge companies shouldn't be spending millions of dollars so that I know which herepes medication I should be asking my doctors for. Isn't THAT the doctors job? Then again, it IS their money to spend however they see fit.
Want to make healthcare more affordable? Rework the FDA so that it doesn't take 8-15 years of study to clear medication. Maybe we should fine people for bringing ridiculous lawsuits? Maybe we should regulate the insurance companies who bilk millions out of the public. Perhaps incentivize healthcare providers to work for less? Maybe incentivize drug companies to manufacture drugs for less money instead of forcing them to drop pricing.
This whole debate makes me ill.
The left wants to tell you which doctor you are allowed to see and what decisions you are allowed to figure out on your own.
The left controls our fantastic public school system. is there any wonder that, statistically speaking, children who get private educations tend to earn more than public school graduates? I guess we can't learn anything from THAT.
Government is innefficient and bloated already. We don't need MORE government, we need LESS.
Someone brought up creationism versus evolution. Why do the two need to be opposed?
Yes, the bible talks about god creating the earth in 7 days. Are those God's days? What is a day to god?
Has anyone looked into a newborn babies eyes and thanked Darwin? If you can't see god in a childs eyes, there is no point discussing it with you to begin with.
But that doesn't matter anyway! If the left wants to make religion the worst of the right, who is John Edwards kidding when he tries to say that Jesus wouldn't approve of Americans?
More nonsense.
people in both parties believe in god.
Unfortunately, it is the left that wants god removed from most of our lives. Retailers a few years back refused to allow employees to wish customers a merry christmas. As a jew, this offended me more than hearing merry christmas.
The left supports anti-religious rhetoric.
For some reason, they allowed the right to hold the religion card, leaving many people with no choice but to ignore the left.
What this country needs, what the left needs more than the right, is moderates.

Sometimes I kinda wish Liberals would roll up their sleaves and face the common enemy and stop biting the legs of our military who protect them from harm.

Aha! Finally.
"steveo
since you claim you never got a response from a liberal about dems voting against civil rights act here it is.
without kennedy and johnson it would have never seen the light of day, so leadership was provided by the dems.
second most of the dems who voted against it were dixiecrats who jumped to the republican party as soon as the legislation passed."

-- Can you see how weak is this argument? It's barely worth the ink it's not printed on.

The question is which group, as a group, is more racist. If the Democrats are less racist, then why couldn't they muster more votes? EVEN WITH DEMOCRATIC LEADERSHIP they couldn't deliver the votes. Who led whom?

All through history it has been the REPUBLICAN party standing up for the rights of Blacks. It was true when the party was formed, it was true in the 1960's, and it is true today.

Sadly, as a group, Blacks will always vote for the Democrats. It's just a political reality. This is true even though the Democrats are on the wrong side of what may be the greatest issue facing Blacks today -- namely, education.

Poor and minority students are forced into failing schools that we KNOW will fail to teach them to read or to do basic math. Because of this, they will not be qualified for university, and will be condemned to life at the bottom of the economic ladder. (And as dependents, they will thus continue to be solid Democratic voters.)

Despite the fact that it will win them very few votes from the Black community, Republicans across the country are fighting for students rights to get them out of failing schools. Democrats are fighting hard against any proposal that would offer school choice because it would mean less resources for public schools (in this context, schools is a codeword for "teachers' pensions")

The Democrats have sold out an entire generation of Blacks in order to meet the wants of a higher priority interest group -- teachers' unions.

There are proposals that have been proven to work, but

TH post Black's Articles to hide racism
justone writes: “…well, I am a black person, and can someone please explain to me why whenever I go on "conservative" sites, there are posts claiming that blacks are "taking over" or that there is some genetic component to crime or education levels...

and that doesn't exist when I go on leftist sites.

PLEASE EXPLAIN WHY THE RIGHT WING ATTRACTS STONE-COLD RACISTS!!!!!!”

My good friend, it is one’s perception of reality. For example since when has TH become a conservative site? What is your definition of conservative? This site is merely a liberal cheer leading propaganda site for the left wing Repub party. Tom Sowell, whom I admire greatly as a social economist, will always go off the deep end doing Repub apologetics during campaign time that defies his genius and common sense. He’ll engage in fear mongering about the lesser of two evils, or do you want Dem judges, ignoring all wacko decisions have been by a Repub appointee majority and other lowest common denominator tactics. In fact as Joe Sobran, a conservative says, Bush has given Klinton his legacy, a conservative. The past 6 years would even make FDR blush. Granted the Dems and Repubs talk a good game trying to make believe there is a difference, but judging actions we see that the Repubs make Dems look like the conservative wing.

Are Blacks taking over, well I hope so. Better they be performing than vegetating under the DC plantation master’s chains. Who actually are the major audiences of Tom Sowell, Walter Williams, Shelby Steel, Ward Connolly, Oprah, Michael Jordan, Tiger Wood, Reuben Studdard, all the Black women on American Idol who are blowing off the roof. My bet the first night is holding up, Melinda (who could sing the telephone book and win first place), Lakisha who could almost do the same and Stephanie for the 1,2,3 finish). Trust me those racist Whites are voting in anonymity for the Black talent, race be damned. Don’t tell me only liberal kids vote. Also Blacks are only some 20% or less of the population. This society worships talent regardless of who or how bad they are.

You want to see racism, what percentage of Blacks voted for Mayor Dinkins, 98%. What percentage of Whites, about 45%. Was Dinkins qualified to be a garbage collector, no, his qualification was campaigning while Black. Blacks are the most racist people around. Do you see 98% of the folks on this website, understanding it is somewhat liberal, being racist, nope. You only claim you found Dinesh without giving the specific proof. Now I’ve dated ‘em, grew next door to them, roomed with one from Nigeria off campus in college some 45+ years ago before it was PC and today still live next to them. I can tell you there was a drastic difference between my Nigeria roommate’s views of society than the American Black’s and consequently he related very differently to society. He hadn’t known Jesse Jackson and therefore didn’t know that he is a victim of racism and therefore was instantly accepted by all on campus. Not a good looking guy, but dated the best looking women because he thought he should and saw no reason why they shouldn’t. He was more American than me after being in this country 4 months. How could that be? Well because everything that takes place in too many American Black’s lives is filtered through their racist eyes. Didn’t get a parking space, racism, didn’t get the promotion racism, didn’t get into the college even though my scores are far lower than the Asians who even make the Whites look like morons, racism. In short all the normal everyday problems of life that everybody suffers, only the Black’s is caused by racism. It is a worldview your DC plantation masters have beaten into your head with entitlement chains.

I guess Whites see Blacks taking over by incessant whining, litigation and what not, rather than they ignoring the victimization card and just performing like more and more Blacks are fortunately doing. And as more Blacks get off the DC plantation your perception will be forced to change. How can the richest women in AmeriKa, who’s audience is primarily White racist women be a Black women? Anyway I don’t think anybody on this website is a racist because we all have gotten our forgiven racism certificate from Walter William’s website. (Yes he is handsome, his wife said so, she better). By this certificate Walter has done more to solve racism than all of the race hustling poverty pimps combined.

Look there is no secret that there is a genetic component to crime and education. Both are getting worse in a certain genetic community, even though the White community is getting almost as bad, because they have bought into the DC plantation master’s chains. Sowell documents this decline. I have another study that shows the destruction of the Black community since the early 1,900’s where their stats where on par with Whites. But more and more Blacks faster and faster are finding the underground train out of DC, with the help of Sowell, Walter Williams, Clarence Thomas, Ward Connolly on and on. Heck even TH lets Blacks contribute articles. Probably is to hide their intrinsic racism?

"Any concern about our Southern Border?"

My God, man, have you not read all the times that I have yelled about this? Seriously.

"Just like any other net that is cast, there will be unintended catch.
We are at war."

Yes, another undeclared war and one that is now estimated to last for generations. So, you think it is quite fine to all but suspend the Constitution for a generation or two, do you?
"

"Safeguards must be taken."

Yes, PROTECT OUR BORDERS!

"Would you advise we disband our Intelligence networks and let terrorists kill all the American they want to?"

I never said that. I do expect them however to abide by the Constitution. Isn't it just amazing that we were able to investigate people before the Patriot Act and do it constitutionally? Just amazing.

"Do you have solutions or just complaints?"

I gave some of my "solutions" way up above. Maybe you missed them, since you don't read long posts.

"If your concern is for the Anti-Americans organizing to mutilate the Vietnam War Memorial,
I feel they should all be interned for the duration. That would end the need to tap their telephones."

I am actually very pro-American. What is the name for those people who think that it is ok to let our public servants in government trample all over our Constitution?

I do not support anyone that would mutilate the Vietnam Memorial. I think you know that. So, you think the terrorists are all those people, do you? Interesting. Well, you just seem to have the problem all solved, don't you? We can just leave the borders wide open then and just go back to sleep while the finishing touches of the North American Union are put in place.

I wonder what Samuel Adams would think of Americans that are so willing to cede their liberty to government. I have an idea.

“If ye love wealth better than liberty, the tranquillity of servitude than the animating contest of freedom, — go from us in peace. We ask not your counsels or arms. Crouch down and lick the hands which feed you. May your chains sit lightly upon you, and may posterity forget that ye were our countrymen!”

“A general dissolution of principles and manners will more surely overthrow the liberties of America than the whole force of the common enemy. While the people are virtuous they cannot be subdued; but when once they lose their virtue then will be ready to surrender their liberties to the first external or internal invader.”

How about 'ol Ben:
"They that can give up essential liberty to obtain a little temporary safety deserve neither liberty nor safety." -- Benjamin Franklin

Liberty
Why is it that you can't understand we must sacrifice in wartime?
Must we have rationing and curfew to convince you we are at war?

We do have MAJOR problems with our Government and you carp about trivial wartime inconvenience that does not affect you or (I hope), anyone you know.

Any concern about our Southern Border?
The criminals who profit from it?

Lynne
I respect your views as your own. However, to say that I should not state my views any longer, because everyone already knows them, is not really workable. Think about it. If a person posts here more than just a couple of weeks, we all pretty much know where they stand, right? Yet, they keep on posting comments pro and con to the articles and comments from other posters. Even you. For example, how many times have the same posters insisted over and over that WMDs were found, or that we absolutely needed to be over in Iraq to protect us. Not much to back up the claims, but the insistence was there. I hope you get my point.

I wish most of us could debate the real issues instead of going off into calling each other names. You and I managed to do that here and I thought it was much more productive than the alternative.

The Jane Fonda story offered by Shurely_u_jest is a hoax and an old one at that. It has been completely refuted by several sources including the individuals named in the story. I think Shuely put it in as a joke to see who would react.

Sign me up. We'd have to get Donald Sutherland on the list, too. He accompanied her. I think Santa Moronica Tom Hayden did, too.

You are correct. I was unfair to claim the democrats only looked down on blacks, they do look down on everyone (except themselves).

I stand corrected and have to accept your terms. They are fascists not racists. Or, to make it a little lest inflamatory, they treat everyone as infants, not just minorities.

Grand canyon caould not be formed by Colorado river over eons. I am not saying how it could have been formed. Because I am not a geologist but I know a river can not flow up hill.

But overall I agree with your point. Polarizing people does not do any one any good. That is why moving the primarys up is a terrible idea.

Freedom of speech and press is ment to garentee the free flow of ideas. It seems that we close our ears and shut our eyes and refuse to enter in intellectual debate. Honest debate where information is requested by both sides with the intent to learn and not convert.

I have freind that are hard-core evolutionists. Anything remotely hinting at another view is regected. My wife is hard-core creationist she is the complete opposite. Of course I see myself in the middle of the road. One hand I see temendous complexity; no factor of randomness never could have produced. But at the same time I see tremendous danger of placing a lense of 1 world view over my eyes and blinding myself to all other possible explanations.
Objectivity must/should be the goal of any educated person. The driving force should be an understanding no matter how much we know or think we learned should open our eyes to imagine how much more we need to learn.
If we were ever wrong in the past, means we can be wrong at the present, and we can be wrong in the future.
Once you know somthing you are closed to all future learning about it.

Oh, and please....
NO more about the "southern strategy". It is the left's favorite mantra when anyone mentions that the Klan and the Dixiecrats were not Republicans. Please, it is a tired argument.

If you contend all Dixiecrats became republicans, prove it! Give me a list of everyone who opposed the 64 Civil Rights Act and the date they became republicans. (Obviously, Byrd never did. What about all the others?) Or a list of those running as Dixiecrats with the dates they became Republican.

You contend they all or "mostly" became republicans. Well, prove it. This is a matter subject to proof, so give it to me, or shut up.

Racism
I love the liberal argument:

"We aren't racist. We know those poor, stupid black people can't do anything on their own, so we help them. We tell them what to do, where to live and where to work since they are just too stupid. Oh, not innately stupid, they are just too feeble to overcome slavery the way every other race and nationality overcame problems in their history. We want to help these poor, stupid black people too much to be racist!"

I think the logic of the liberal program to deal with racial issues alone proves they are far more racist.

Sure I will get beaten up for suggesting blacks should get over slavery, and that other groups suffered just as much. But every group has some injustice in their past and some axe to grind. We could all play victim from now to the apocalypse and never exhaust the injustices available. We need to get over the past and deal with the rpesent.

GW
GW has been been going on for a few thousand years. If it wasnt we would be sitting on ice.
When you melt ice it "appears" to melt faster when less ice is seen. GW is a fact. Thank God!!! Some of the quesions that are being challanged are
1. is the rate of that warming increasing,
2. what are the long term effects of warming,
3. IF there is a significant increase in the rate of that warming is it due to
1. humans, if so how much.
2. other factors. (the sun, the core, other "natural" occurances)
3. green house gasses, most noteably co2 emmions.

It is rediculous to contiue this discussion with people who refuse to have the desire for open honest communication. If people refuse to define words and use words clearly they intentionly beign dishonest and leading people astray. You have to ask the question WHY!!! Why if you position is accurate you have to use inaccuracy to describe it.

Shattering 4 myths about Republicans
(Disclaimer: Notice I said Republicans and not Conservatives)

1. Republicans practice Christian values. Rush Limbaugh is a drug addict. Ted Haggard is a homosexual and a meth-head. Mark Foley is a pedophile. Newt Gingrich is a philanderer. Bill Bennett is a compulsive gambler.

2. Republicans value our troops and our veterans. Walter Reed. 'nuff said.

3. Republicans want small government and less spending. Both the size of government and the amount of government spending has increased by an unprecedented amount under a Republican House, Senate and White House.

4. Republicans want to protect our borders and secure America's sovreignty. Do a google search on the North American Union. Or better yet click on any of the following links:

Remember that President Bush is a driving force behind this movement.

I think you have your head buried in the sand. We have allowed them to pass the legislation. They ARE invading our privacy, on a daily basis. Do you not realize that they are monitoring the communications of ALL Americans? I have spoken about the Military Commission Bill. I guess it's ok with you that it enables someone to be picked up on a mere accusation and their constitutional rights, stripped from them? Or will you not care about it until they come to pick YOU up? It will be too late then, you know.

I'm glad you trust the gummit so much that you believe they will not enforce the very legislation that they have passed, or will even stay within its guidelines.

Both the state of Louisiana and the city New Orleans, who had primary responsibility as first responders, failed miserably. Both the state and the city have been run by a corrupt Democrat machine for decades. Since Katrina, the Bush administration has thrown more than a billion dollars down the black hole that is New Orleans. But as a moveonsoros.org and daily kos groupie, it is in your nature to be a liar. We all know that.

Some comments on your posts:

1) Yes, by all means let's leave the global warming debate to scientists, like Al Gore and Cameron Diaz. If this were a debate about whether or not Pluto is a planet, I would be happy to leave it to the scientists. When the debate leads to the expenditure of trillions of dollars, massive increase in government power and taxation and demands that I make drastic changes in my lifestyle, it crosses the line into politics.

2) Your claims of latent racism in the Republican party are unfounded and highly offensive. I harbor none of the attitudes you assign to conservatives, nor do I know any conservatives who do. Your characterization of the south as a hotbed of racists (all of whom, of course, are Republican) is itself a racist stereotype. Are there racists in the Republican party and/or the south? Undoubtedly. Just as there are in the Democrat party and the north, and just as there are in the black community--Louis Farakahn is as much a racist as any KKK member. Have you seen the disgusting racial comments and cartoons the left uses to attack black conservatives like Condi Rice and Clarence Thomas? Please show me a similar example on the right. Racist morons like David Duke are drummed out of the Republican party, yet Robert "Sheets" Byrd continues merrily on as a leading Democrat (despite having dropped the "N"-bomb a couple of years back) The hypocrisy is palpable.

3) I feel no need whatever to "atone" for slavery. My sins are many, but owning slaves is not one of them. Why should I take responsibility for the actions of others who have no connection to me other than the color of my skin? Are you taking personal responsibility for blacks who have (and continue to) enslaved other blacks in Africa? I was adopted, so I have no idea if my ancestors owned slaves, if they were indentured servants, if they were enslaved by barbary Muslims themselves or if they helped run the underground railroad. And I don't care. Let's worry more about ending the slavery that still continues and less about what happened 150 years ago.

4) You have a limited grasp of conservatism; it is about much more than just personal responsibility. If you were to put aside your preduidices and look at policy, you might reconsider.

-Single-parent households are the primary contributor to inner city drug abuse, crime and poverty among both black and white. Yet Dems seek to undermine the traditional family and to promote "alternative" family structures.

- School choice offers the best chance to improve the our abysmal urban schools, yet Dems, enthralled to corrupt teachers unions, block it.

- Blacks are likely to die before collecting their social security benefits and could benefit greatly from private accounts, again stymied by Dems.

- The welfare state has been proven a dismal failure, and free market capitalism a resounding success, yet Dems continue to promote Marxist schemes that have no chance of success

- Blacks are more likely than the general population to be church-going Christians, yet support the party that wishes to eradicate Christianity from the public square.

- Conservatives are true to MLK's vision of a color-blind society; Dems continue to divide the country on race.

I hope you will take the time to learn the truth.

Kimberly
I guess when you can not argue the facts you have to argue with his intent. Maybe liberals are really smarter then everyone else. They are the only ones intellectual enough to look into the heart of a man and see so clearly his motives.
The case for giving at Katrina is important. Because it was made political by the left. The left used it as a platform that is why it is relavant. Had they not used it as a platfrom who gave what would not be relavant. Your party took a stand on bad foundation.
Look at your post The administration allowed them to suffer. How? By Bush not mounting his horse and loading his six shooter to stop Katrina. Or was it not by violating the soverienty of the state and city and forcing an evacuation? (Why is that only New Orleans has victims?)

"And to what possible gain is he writing this stuff and linking us to a rightwing website for his Yale "study" as proof to his accusations, anyway?"
Support not proof. If it was left wing would that make the evidence acceptale? Let follow your logic. Any school that has a political leaning can not contibute anything to intellectual debate. LOL @ Kimberly

Atonement?
Justone writes: Friday, March, 09, 2007 1:05 PM
"As a matter of fact
I think it would be great if there were white churches devoted to attoning for the sins of slavery, colonialism and racism. And trying to educate white people about how to be better members of the global community."

Sorry, brother, only Jesus and the Cross can provide atonement for sins.

I am not "white", still being able to distinguish my hand from a piece of copier paper - and I don't like that so-called "racist" label (I am a true racist in the biological sense - I'm for the human race), and I am not a hyphenated-american either.

My ancestors did not engage in any of the activities you mentioned, and even if they had, I can't be held responsible for their behavior. My father, who was refused work during WWII because of his parents' ethnicity, started his own masonry business and trained and hired the first Negro bricklayer in this city because all he cared about was whether the guy could lay bricks. He told the other bricklayers on the first morning that if they didn't like it, they could leave. So don't ask me to atone for someone else's faults - I will only point you to the Cross, and I have enough trouble with my own. Come help us on our inner-city mission project this weekend - I hear the folks there are a nice shade green.

So, everybody, stop the color crap. Anybody who sees either a virtue or a defect in skin tone is an idiot.

Lynne, sorry this is so long...

Liberty, Yes, we get your points, BUT Yes, we have read your points many, many times. And, at least for myself, I do agree for the most part. But, life is not usually all that cut and dried and easy to accomplish. We, unfortunately, have a Congress full of people who are at cross-purposes.
-------------------------------------------
1. The illegal alien invasion that this administration has allowed and fostered. We need to get this practice stopped.
Lynne:
>> I agree that "illegal invasion" (and I agree that "invasion" IS the correct word, not illegal immigration) needs to be stopped IMMEDIATELY. And I do agree that, for whatever the reason(s) the admin. is not doing all that should be done. However, you have to know that this has been going on for decades.. not just with the Bush Admin.

You also have to know that there are many Americans (mostly liberals) who think we should encourage immigration and open borders. In fact, Senators Ted Kennedy, John McCain, Patrick Leahy and liberals in Washington are trying to pass just such an amnesty bill right now. Check out GOPUSA.com

Liberty:
Yes, but it has gotten much, much worse under Dubya. Do you agree that he is h*ll bent on encouraging them to come in, not enforcing our immigration laws and giving them amnesty?

I agree with you that a lot of liberals encourage an open borders policy and they make me sick. All I can do however, is to try to get people calling themselves conservatives to see that many Republicans are doing the same thing. Actually, I think this is between people who want Daddy Bush’s New World Order vs. those who want America to remain a sovereign nation.
--------------------------------------------

2. North American Union.
Lynne:
>> Agreed There must be some in Congress who are aware. Are you emailing and calling them? In fact, GOPUSA is only one of several very good grass roots sites that provide current legislative information and email addresses.

Liberty:
Yes, I am sure a lot of them are aware, but few admit it. Even one of my own Senators whose bill to build roads and schools in Mexico, did not admit it, even though the text of his bill came almost verbatim from the CFR’s document, “Building a North American Community”. As far as your other question, YES, I have written and called them! Have you guys?

Quite frankly, I think we have a bunch of traitors in our government, that have either sold out to the highest bidder, or actually agree with the sell-out of our sovereignty.
------------------------------------------

3. I have made it quite clear that I believe we have shut our eyes to what the public servants in our government have done to our Bill of Rights and our liberty, ever since 9-11.

Lynne:
>>Agreed on principle. But my question is how would YOU go about obtaining information about, and tracking terrorists and illegal invaders who are already here... and heaven knows, they are.

I am not happy, in principle, about such things as national ID cards, etc., but how else do YOU suggest we track and find the terrorists? That's my question.

Liberty:
My understanding is that we already have a method to check the validity of social security numbers. No, I’m not too high on them either, because they were never supposed to be used for identification. But we have them currently. I’d rather use them than add something bigger and badder.

The most important thing, in my view, is to secure the border so we stop the influx. Then, if we stop the handouts, and penalize the employers that hire them, the major benefit for being here, would disappear.

Now, to the terrorists…. Again, we are not doing much to keep them from coming into our country. So, our government, through lack of action, is *creating* the problem. Then, they come in with an Orwellian solution to resolve the problem that they caused. I can be naïve at times, but I’m not falling for this one.

How do we find those already here, AFTER we secure the gosh darn border? We have been investigating subversive organizations for generations and we were able to do it within the 4th amendment. Why is this time any different?

Lynne:
What part of the 4th amendment have we forgotten? Don't ask us, ask those in Congress.

Liberty:
THEN, WHY are the vast majority of people on this site not raising holy H*LL about it? Not many seem to care. Also Lynne, it’s not JUST the liberals. That is what is so very frustrating to me. There are a whole lot of Republicans that seem to think that ignoring the Constitution is just fine too. I have a problem with people going around *calling* themselves conservatives when they just flat out, are NOT. It does not do us any good to support them, because they hurt the very name of conservatism. What’s more, is it me, or have people forgotten what conservative used to mean?

Lynne:
I don't think anyone has let their hate for the liberals and Islamic cloud their eyes so much that we have forgotten that the greatest mass murderers in history have always been GOVERNMENTS. But I do believe (as many others do)that at this point in time, the radical Islamics are far more a threat to us and our way of life than our government!

Again, I ask you how YOU would accomplish what needs to be accomplished to protect us from those who have sworn, over and over again that their goal is to wipe the US off the face of the earth? How would YOU protect us from those who cry, "Death to America?" What would YOU do differently to stop another 9/11 than what the government is trying to do now?

Liberty:
You’re not going to like this, but give me a chance.

1. I think the most important thing we can do is to stop entangling alliances with foreign countries. It almost always ends up in wars.
2. The next thing is to stop using our military as an arm of the UN, to carry out their resolutions. Most conservatives do not look upon the UN too fondly, so I would not think this suggestion would meet with much disfavor. However, you must realize that this is one of the reasons that Dubya mentioned for our need to invade Iraq. I also do not believe our military should be used to police the world or to be the police force for international companies. The military should be used for America’s national defense. Period.
3. If someone attacks us, or is an imminent threat, I firmly believe we should throw everything we have at them and pound them in the ground. It is one of the reasons I believe in a strong national defense and us having the biggest guns. When a country tends to have these stances, in addition to not meddling in other nations’ affairs, no one tends to want to fight you. If they ever do, they will be truly sorry.
4. That said, I am not a fan of Iran’s government; however, I prefer to read the entire document that the little blurbs are pulled out of. I know you are the same way. It is my opinion that what the Iranian President said is being greatly twisted. Especially about Israel. Here’s the thing, Lynne… we have surrounded Iran and have been beating the war drums and threatening to attack them. They’re not stupid. Would you put America as number one on your buddy list?

I am not saying that we don’t need to keep an eye on Iran. We do. But, even IF they intended to create nuclear weapons, most every expert says it would take YEARS for them to do so. They are NOT an imminent threat. We should back off and then see if they will allow us to take a look at what they are doing. They allowed it before; I would imagine they would allow it to be done again. If we would just stop beating the war drums. Up to this point, this administration has been acting like some kind of 6th grade bully with regard to Iran. We have refused to talk to them, etc. Do you think Reagan would have done the same thing? I don’t.

I fully understand that there are times we have to fight and quite honestly, as far as external threats are concerned, I am much more worried about China, Russia and North Korea, than I am about the Middle East. Look no further than China, if you want to see a blood-thirsty government. And what are we doing? We’re handing them our industry and letting them break every trade law known to man. They’re turning right around and spending the money on building up their military. How stupid are we? Talk about threatening us… China has done it. Yet, we just give them most favored nation status, let them be all over our ports, not to mention the Panama Canal. Does this make sense to you?

Have you ever asked yourself why this administration is focusing on IRAN, while rolling out the red carpet for RED China?

4. We need to get our financial house in order.
Lynne:
>>You could have a point here, but what you've written seems to come straight out of the Ron Paul play book.

Liberty:
What’s wrong with that? I agree with him, yes. He is the ranking member of the House Committee on Monetary policy and understands it well. I however have done my own investigation, if that’s your point. I’m not sure what you’re getting at. If you’d take a look at that book I recommended to you, I’ll bet you’d really see the problem with which we’re dealing. It’s really interesting.

5. Then, I firmly believe we should take a good look at those laws that are unconstitutional and weed them out, one by one, and return our government to one that abides by the Constitution.
Lynne:
>>Agreed. But I would suggest that first you emailing every Dem and Republican in Congress to stop with their stupid "non binding resolutions" and get to work on issues that really matter.

Liberty:
I think our troops should be brought home from Iraq in an orderly fashion. I realize you do not agree.

6. Get us out of the UN and get it the heck out of our country.
Lynne:
>> Agreed. Tomorrow would be good! But it isn't going to happen anytime soon (unfortunately.)

Liberty:
Bottom line, our most valuable possession as Americans is our liberty. We should not relinquish it to ANYONE, whether they be a terrorist OR a public servant in our government. If we lose our liberty, what will "safety" mean?

Lynne:
>>Agreed, but the possibility of doing all this "right now" is unrealistic. And for the time being, we might have to allow the government the space needed to accomplish what needs to be accomplished.

That's why the Patriot Act was passed as a SUNSHINE law...

Liberty:
I firmly disagree with you on this. We should not allow unconstitutional laws, EVER and certainly not ones that strip Americans of their liberty. This is much more dangerous to us than any terrorist could ever be.

Lynne, if our elected representatives do not share our belief that we should get out of the UN, it’s NEVER going to happen. Ron Paul is the only one that I am aware of, that speaks openly about it and has consistently put legislation forth to do just that.

Kimberly,
If you don't care what Hawkins thinks, why are you reading his article?

justone
You expect others to fight for your rights and have just shown us how willing you are to fight to protect the rights of others.

Hackles are up
Much name calling on this thread... For those who are unable to see through the rhetoric, look up the word "polemic"

Ann Coulter
Did nothing wrong.
I really wish the conservative party would take some statements male liberals using similar words and turn this into a feminist issue. I think that would be great. Think of all the unmarried mothers that would move right once the left is exposed as sexist.
what Ann said was 100% correct and every time someone talks about it, it proves her point.

Shattering 3 Myths About Liberals
I have to admit, I was never very good at science in school. Physics? Tried that and lost.
For that reason, I guess it's a very good thing I didn't go to ACTING SCHOOL, because it is obvious that acting school would have had all of those required courses in science. That must be true or how else would all of those Hollywood folks know so much about it? Kent
