'Twas the Night Before the Election

Chuck: The third reason that we encourage Californians to vote "yes" for Prop. 8 is because we're all Americans and we should never be afraid or intimidated to vote our conscience. In my new book, "Black Belt Patriotism," which is a cultural manifesto on issues from family to faith and country, I say things that may ruffle feathers of those in government. But freedom of expression is all of our right as Americans. God created the first couple a man and a woman; there's no reason to be ashamed of that fact.

Gena: As sure as a house divided cannot stand, neither can a state or nation. Let's unite and let our voices be heard. Please take courage and vote "yes" on Proposition 8 …

Chuck: … and safeguard marriage for future generations of Californians and the rest of America …

Both Chuck and Gena: … even Texans!

To watch the actual PSA or to learn more about this constitutional amendment, go to www.ProtectMarriage.com (for adults), www.iProtectMarriage.com (for youth) or www.ProtectMarriageCA.com. Instead of tearing down traditional marriage in our day, we should be upholding and building it up by voting "yes" on Proposition 8 and by using great relational resources found, for example, at www.SmalleyOnline.com. Also, if you haven't seen it, this might be a good time to see the movie "Fireproof." It will help you to "never leave your partner behind."

There is no doubt that this is the most important election of our lifetimes; there is so much on the line. That is why I encourage Americans everywhere to get out of the political bleachers and onto the battlefield. It's time for the black-belt patriots to stand up for the Constitution and Bill of Rights through their votes, as I recently said in a new National Rifle Association public service announcement, which is airing in 10 key states. And to arouse some possible fence sitters from their electoral lethargy, I even am giving away this week a free inspirational chapter about America's godly heritage from my new book, "Black Belt Patriotism." Simply go to www.ChuckNorrisOffer.com.

And as far as the presidential race? I couldn't put it any better than a recent poem I received, "'Twas the night before the election":

'Twas the night before the election,
And all through the town,
Tempers were flaring,
Emotions all up and down!

I, in my bathrobe
With a cat in my lap,
Had cut off the TV,
Tired of political crap.

When all of a sudden,
There arose such a noise
I peered out of my window
Saw Obama and his boys.

They had come for my wallet.
They wanted my pay
To give to the others,
Who had not worked a day!

He snatched up my money,
And quick as a wink,
Jumped back on his bandwagon
As I gagged from the political stink.

He then rallied his henchmen,
Who were pulling his cart.
I could tell they were out
To tear my country apart!

"On Fannie, on Freddie,
On Biden and Ayers!
On ACORN, on Pelosi!"
He screamed at the pairs.

They took off for his cause,
And as he flew out of sight,
I heard him laugh at the nation,
Who wouldn't stand up and fight!

So I leave you to think
On this one final note:
If you don't want socialism,
GET OUT AND VOTE!
