Townhall.com: The ultimate conservative tool for change

 About three years ago, when I first began writing my syndicated column, I emailed Jon Garthwaite, Townhall.com’s Editor-in-Chief.  The email read something like this:

“Mr. Garthwaite: I’ve always been a huge fan of Townhall.com.  It’s my first stop for information in the morning and my last stop for information in the evening.  You have the best stable of columnists on the planet – it’s a joy to see the Townhall.com update in my inbox.  Townhall.com is a source I can trust, and I just wanted to let you know how honored I am that my work will be appearing on your fantastic website.”

A lot has changed in three years: the re-election of George W. Bush, the war in Iraq, the decline of the mainstream media, the retirement of Justice O’Connor and the death of Chief Justice Rehnquist, just to list a few of the massive news events of the recent past.  And a lot has changed at Townhall.com: the website has undergone an extreme makeover in terms of formatting, adding news links and action points to the great commentary focus; the addition of brand-new, hard-hitting pundits; the creation of C-Log; the genesis of Soapbox, allowing readers to talk back, among others.

 But the solid core conservatism that has made Townhall.com one of the best sites on the web remains.  Nowhere else will you find such an imposing group of deep thinkers.  Nowhere else will you find more cogent explanation of right-wing thought, more caustic and shocking expose of left-wing thought, and more sheer political fun.  Browse the columnist archives before you give.  Check out what other readers think at Soapbox.  Scan C-Log.  Read Townhall.com’s recommendations for action. 

Then, when you’re done, open your wallet.  I’m betting that you’ll double the amount you planned to give.  When I wrote a column in December 2003 asking that readers give money to pro-troops charities Operation Gratitude and Freedom Alliance, you responded by giving well over $10,000 in less than a week.  I know from experience that there are no more generous readers than Townhall.com readers.  And there is no more powerful tool for change than Townhall.com itself.
