Will the Dems' health care Christmas Present to America be an improvement or detriment to our health care system?

Last week, both David Broder, The Washington Post's venerable and authoritative political voice, and Chuck Todd, NBC's new important political voice, declared President Barack Obama's honeymoon over.

Although almost every new American presidency is launched with renewed hope and optimism for both the president and the nation (Abraham Lincoln's being a conspicuous exception in 1861), a time comes when the public and the president's party begin to assess whether they made the right choice.

Are the public's expectations of the new president being met? Are the many promises that every candidate for president makes -- and his apparent personal attributes -- hanging together and beginning to form a potentially coherent and successful administration of government?

It is a commonplace of Washington politics that it is not news when the other party attacks, but it is noteworthy when there is opposition within a president's own party.

Last week, on two of his three major domestic legislative initiatives -- health policy and financial re-regulation -- strong Democratic Party congressional doubts (and, on some important details, opposition) emerged.

Abroad, the extraordinary and heroic rising of the Iranian people and the predictable but deeply disconcerting nuclear provocation of the North Korean regime are beginning the process of coloring in the public picture of the president's foreign-policy methods and effectiveness. Last week, public expectations and early presidential performance began to separate a little.

I don't think the Obama team would contradict me if I suggested that at the heart of Mr. Obama's winning campaign was his image as a progressive, idealistic, highly intelligent and masterfully competent man. Hopes for a "post-racial" society also motivated votes for Obama from both Democrats and Republicans. These images were projected by the campaign to contrast (in the campaign's view) with the then-incumbent Republican president.

In the weeks leading up to last week, the president disappointed many of his most intense supporters on the left by backpedaling on war-, civil liberties- and transparency-related issues, while Republican opposition increased as he made his first Supreme Court nomination on an identity-politics basis and advanced his intrusive industrial and regulatory policies.

His early predictions of unemployment rates have sadly been breached by events as the interest rates on Treasury notes needed to finance the president's proposed deficits are going up steadily -- thus driving up mortgage rates and driving down housing recovery.

Those same left-of-center supporters last week were very disappointed with what they see as his excessive solicitude to big Wall Street interests in his financial deregulation proposal, while the financial institutions that contributed handsomely to his campaign see the proposed regulations as too burdensome and bad for a growing economy.

Obama responded to the Iranian regime's murderous suppression of its public with a defensible (although I strongly disagree with it) but Kissingerian realpolitik calculation. The purported logic of that position sits uneasily on the consciences of many of his liberal supporters -- who previously had heard the president's high moral and idealistic tone -- and many conservatives, as well.

It is an unnatural and probably un-useful political act when a liberal Democratic White House cites the approval of its historic foreign-policy bête noire -- in this case, Henry Kissinger -- as justification for the president's foreign-policy plays -- in this case, on Iran.

But at the crux of last week's political consternations was the hard-to-avoid implication that the president's domestic agenda -- particularly his signature health policy plans (which also have been the Democratic Party's signature domestic issue) -- was running headlong into both economically and politically intolerable deficits and national debt accumulation.

The Congressional Budget Office's preliminary cost and deficit calculations of the president's overall budget and specific health proposals have sent tremors through the Democratic Party establishment, and the White House is feeling the vibrations.

Not counting the estimated $1.6 trillion 10-year cost for part of the president's proposed health policy changes, the CBO predicts that the administration's budget proposal would increase the national debt by $9.3 trillion over 10 years -- almost twice the total national debt from George Washington to George W. Bush. Even the president's own Office of Management and Budget director, Peter Orszag, has stated that a continued deficit that is more than 3.5 percent of gross domestic product is "unsustainable." The president's budget is more than 4 percent of GDP.

Moreover, to advance the president's climate change legislation (the third of his big three legislative initiatives), Rep. Henry Waxman, chairman of the House Energy and Commerce Committee, has had to cut way back on its early-years revenue-raising provisions in order to induce more support among Democratic congressmen -- thus further increasing future deficits beyond even the current budget proposal.

Though the president remains broadly admired, with his personal-approval polling numbers at about 60 percent, his policy proposals are becoming less popular with the public as they are emerging in more detail. And as even those policies that are popular appear to be unaffordable, the president's Democratic senatorial allies are focusing more on their responsibilities as senators and less on their party loyalties to a Democratic president.

Although the president is looking somewhat inconsistent and less effective while his policies are looking less plausible, it's early, and legislative success may yet be the president's this season. But it is not too early for Democratic Party nerves and their ending of the presidential honeymoon.

Obama team? Obama's illegal period!
Well, here we are AGAIN discussing usurper Obama, as if he were a REAL PRESIDENT, when in fact he doesn’t even meet the basic ELIGIBILITY requirements to BE president (not born on American soil). It’s not a small matter of him not providing a real US birth certificate when asked by the American people, it’s that HE DOESN’T HAVE ONE TO BEGiN WITH because he was BORN IN KENYA.

Which by the way, makes every bill Obama signs and every THING he DOES acting as president, iLLEGAL. And pretty much means if we let this go on we are breaking the law right along with him. CONSTITUTIONAL CRISES!

Come join me and help put up another billboard around the USA:
“WHERE’S THE BIRTH CERTIFICATE?”
http://www.worldnetdaily.com/index.php?fa=PAGE.view&pageId= 102329

Honeymoon over?
Far from it.
The liberal MSM is still in bed with "The One" and the romance between them is almost sexual in its enthusiasm and tingling of the legs and nerves.
And, like so much of "The One's" evil policies, it's an Abomination and hopefully doomed to failure.
This POTUS makes me sick.

Seawolf
akagi is as anti-American as Alinsky or Ayers.
so naturally he supports anything he feels hurts the ideas of America.

he is an immigrant that needs to be run out of the country

Bush's fault?

When Bush tried to pass his first stimulus plan, with the help of the democrat McCain, Nobody seems to remember that the Republicans balked. They weren't going to sign the thing and didn't for days.

Pelose stood there and refused to take a vote unti she got the Repub okay - she didn't want the blame.

Eventually, because the sky was falling, the repubs cowardly gave in and signed.

The Dems (Pelosi) says it is a Repub bill, NO - it is hers, Bush's, the Dems who all lined up to sign and the Democrat - MCain.

No one advocates intervention
The interventionists all appear to be on the left... Of course there may be a problem with how they define intervention. ................................
No one from the middle or right is calling for US intervention in Iran. ...........
The protests offer a chance for the US to encourage regime change done by Iranians. People have been calling for more support for the opponents of the Mahmoud regime.

o
I am confused as to why anyone would expect o to intervene in Iran. You must subjugate the masses if you are to take over. One way is by financial ruin another is with bullets. Everything is going as expected. Don't look for America to be attacked again. o owns us and we are his rightful property. He will ascend to his place in the world once the world economies collapse. There will be war and o will make peace for a short time. The libs have made up their minds and that's why they are in charge.

The libs here have drunk so deeply
of the Kool-aid they cannot admit that this clown is anything but the savior of the world.
The man was raised by communists/America haters and thus is one with them and their sick idealogy.

Akagi, you seem to know a lot about Il Duce, is his early mentor in Hawaii not a commie?
Is his buddy ayres not an avowed marxist and domestic terrorist?
Wasn't alinsky bent on the destruction of capitalism?

Isn't his buddy wright a racist and anti-American? GD America?

I find no-one in his past that holds any love for this country, it's system of gov't, it's historic institutions or the framers.
They despise America and all it stands for and has stood for historically.
Are we perfect? NO, are we the best ever and a symbol of freedom to the world, the answer is undeniably yes.

No decent American has friends and associates like he has, none!

He cannot uphold his oath if he believes the Constitution is a "flawed document", I've sworn my allegiance to the Constitution many times in my life and swore to defend it to the death.

It offends me that this fool takes his oath so lightly, he is unfit to be POTUS by his lack of experience, but more by his total lack of respect for this country.

BTW, has anyone heard a word from his lips about PvT Long yet?
He certainly showed his devotion to the troops when that atrocity was commited didn't he?

America Changing!
We now see the map to the chant of "Change",if the voters would just have been more diligent and actually did some research on this new man of change they would have know in a flash what his change was actually about.

wes comment was quite cute, there was one that was suprised that the media had not did a better job, well suprise suprise, that is there fault for not actually doing some research. The New President associates actually tells it all,the infamaous Wright, I can't even call him a minister. When one spouts hate from the pulpet not just once in a while, but this is what the Black Liberation Theology actually believe, here again look up what hey believe, it will curl your toes. Than we have the man in the neighborhood,ex-bomber in the United States,Will Bill Ayers. The President knew him from day one when he came to Chicago, they worked on fixing the Chicago school system for five years with much money coming from a program that Obama was in charge with. Also we have the list of books that he read and believed in.

At first I thought the new President was pushing us to socializm, but it is more than that,he acctually hates the America most of us love, the BLT want to bring down the whites. Not just the unjust but White people. Read their by laws.

Than we have all those wonderful duffis in Congress,Pelosi,Reid,Duffis Barney,Dodd,Waters, and the list goes on.

Laura61 nails it on the head. We sit back and thought our vote and voice didn't make a difference. Well 2010 is coming up and we had better start realizing we need to organize and start working now,it worked for the new President,we need to start now.

No birth certificate
No qualified for office he sits in.

He has already proven he is a fraud by hiring these law firms to fight against simply showing the very one he had placed in the internet.

He will not allow that document in a court because he knows it can be subjected to discovery rules.

That would destroy all the lies he is covering up.

"Just like he was in cahoots with Hamas BEFORE his inauguration..."

And just like your Kenya fantasies, no proof of this either.

"we are not a police state..."

True, but talking about your desire to see the president murdered is not protected speech and such would be investigated if I decided to call the Secret Service. I am sure some agents would like to have a nice chat with you about what you meant exactly.

"He is not a valid president, and that will come out, sooner or later."

Yeah...whatever. I bet those drugs you are on really are expensive.

St. Denis
"Obama Did Not Win In A Landslide

He won less than 54% of the vote."

Agreed. He didn't. He won 53% of the vote (which doesn't matter anyway since the president as Al Gore found out isn't elected by the popular vote), but that was the greatest margain of victory by a Democrat since 1964 and the largest by a non-incumbant since 1932.

"Ronald Reagan is the landslide leader. In 1984, Reagan won 49 of 50 states."

So did Nixon in 1972 and with the larger margain of victory (60.7% against Reagan's 58.8%). The popular vote champion is probably LBJ in 1964 with 61% of the vote.

While Obama's win was no landslide but it was not a narrow victory either.

St. Denis
Does it surprise you to learn that Obama was in cahoots with the Iranian Supreme Leader BEFORE the election?

Just like he was in cahoots with Hamas BEFORE his inauguration...

"Birds of a feather flock together."

Obama Did Not Win In A Landslide

He won less than 54% of the vote.

Ronald Reagan is the landslide leader. In 1984, Reagan won 49 of 50 states.

Animals Treating People Worse Than

Animals.

Iran's government is using thugs to throw protestors off of bridges.

The security forces are using axes to chop up people.

The Supreme Leader has confirmed that "only" 20 people have died.

The government is gearing up to teach the protestors a lesson.

Why was Obama the last Western leader to speak up for the protectors and condemn the atrocities?

The silence was deafening.

And, now apparently, there is evidence that Obama was in discussion with the Supreme Leader BEFORE the election.

Akagi
"Saying you hope the POTUS is murdered which is what you said is not protected. If I called the Secret Service, I am sure they would pay you a little visit and see exactly what you meant by this statement"

I don't know if you would, but I'm thinking giving the Secret Service a ring. Still having made up my mind if I'm that much of a douchebag yet. It would be funny though, even if it would be even a slight inconvenience to Hosquatch.

Another point, Akagi...
The burden of proof is not on US to prove that Obama is ineligible...

The burden of proof is on Obama to prove his eligibility to US!

And sorry, Akagi, we are not a police state ...yet. If Obama gets his way, I am sure that will come. I can envision armed ACORN troop carriers roaming the streets. Who knows, YOU may be driving one!

Akagi...
A man who is Constitutionally ineligible to hold the office of president could get 100% of the vote and he STILL would be ineligible to hold the office. He is not a valid president, and that will come out, sooner or later. Then, all hell will break loose!

WHERE IS THE BIRTH CERTIFICATE?

Hosquatch
"The explanation presented by his paternal grandmother and family, who witnessed Obama's birth in Mombassa Hospital in Kenya, is very clear."

This has never been proven except a tape that no one has heard of someone claiming to be Sarah saying this. This is what is known as double or triple hearsay.

"Obama's pregnant mother was visiting her Kenyan inlaws during her last days of pregnancy. She was not allowed to fly on commercial airlines due to her imminent delivery and, thus, delivered Barack in Kenya."

Any proof she was EVER in Kenya? Proof she was in Kenya in 1961? No. Care to show us passport stamps showing she was in Kenya or entered the US from Kenya in the summer of 1961? There isn't any.

"Upon returning to Hawaii with Barack, they registered the birth with the Hawaiian authorities and obtained the Certificate of Live Birth which that state has on record."

Really? And how did he get into the US? Any immigration documents as a non-US citizen he'd need a visa and a Kenyan British (at the time)passport. Did she smuggle him in, if so, how?

"Obama is NOT a US citizen and, therefore, is not eligible to hold the presidency."

Proof of this?

"Also, Akagi, at this point we still have freedom of thought and expression. As long as we make no threats, we are still free to think and speak as we choose. I'm sure that frosts people like you, but that is one of the things we true Americans are fighting to preserve!"

Saying you hope the POTUS is murdered which is what you said is not protected. If I called the Secret Service, I am sure they would pay you a little visit and see exactly what you meant by this statement. If you are what a true American is, I'll opt out right now.

The Presidency at 5-months
There may be reason to abort this One.

Hosquatch
"...he does not deserve to hold the office he has currently seized."

You are aware are you not that the American people VOTED him into office. He didn't seize anything. He ran for the presidency, he won more delegates that the others running the the Democratic nomination process and was formally nominated at their convention in August. He then ran in the general election against John McCain (and a host of lesser knowns such as Bob Barr and Cynthia McKinney)and he won the majority of the 538 electoral college votes (365 to McCain's 173) which formally elected him in December. Congress certified the vote of the electoral college in early January and he took the oath on January 20, 2009 making him the 44th President of the United States. He didn't seize anything.

"I know that I am a US citizen because I have my original, long-form birth certificate..."

You may, but we don't please post it online for us to see. We'd also like to see copies your passport and college transcripts.

Akagi...
I do not think you are that stupid. The explanation presented by his paternal grandmother and family, who witnessed Obama's birth in Mombassa Hospital in Kenya, is very clear. Obama's pregnant mother was visiting her Kenyan inlaws during her last days of pregnancy. She was not allowed to fly on commercial airlines due to her imminent delivery and, thus, delivered Barack in Kenya. Upon returning to Hawaii with Barack, they registered the birth with the Hawaiian authorities and obtained the Certificate of Live Birth which that state has on record. Obama is NOT a US citizen and, therefore, is not eligible to hold the presidency.

Also, Akagi, at this point we still have freedom of thought and expression. As long as we make no threats, we are still free to think and speak as we choose. I'm sure that frosts people like you, but that is one of the things we true Americans are fighting to preserve!

Zap
I know that I am a US citizen because I have my original, long-form birth certificate, which indicates when and where I was born, my parentage, the attending physician, etc. I have had to produce it many times to prove my citizenship. OBAMA cannot, or will not, do likewise. AND, Obama has spent nearly $1 million to PREVENT ANY INFORMATION about his birthplace, his college records, his passport records, etc., from being seen by the public.

Either Obama is NOT a US citizen, which his birth certificate would prove, or he is playing an extremely arrogant and harmful game by putting himself ABOVE THE US CONSTITUTION and saying he does not have to submit to US Law.
Either way, he does not deserve to hold the office he has currently seized.

Vonryan
"Perhaps, the Muslim schooling he obtained overseas and the odd-ball parenting he received precluded a more 'universal' development."

The schools he attended in Jakarta--one was Catholic and the other was secular with Muslim and non-Muslim students.

"Our current President is not a scholar."

Nor was Bush 43, who had hardly ever left the shores of the US before he became president (going to Mexico).

"Iran will play out despite his crafted reluctance to have an opinion or to feel any need to say loudly, 'we want regime change in Iran.'"

Yes it will play out and his policies toward Iran are not much different than Bush's policies in this regard and while you may desire regime change, it would be pretty stupid for the US to state this and outside of an invasion (which I assume the US isn't stupid enough to try, but I've be proved wrong before on this point)not likely to happen. Most of the protesters don't favor the end to the Islamic Republic. And who are you charging with plagerism?

Plagiarism.
The line that exists between 'inspiration' and plagiarism is a thin one indeed.

If you are truly 'inspired' you should admit it to yourself and pronounce it publically as you seek to present 'your take' on the thing.

Anything else is snatching the fumes of another’s exhale.

Where's The Exit Strategy?

On the Federal Reserve?

On both wars?

On Cap-n-Tax?

On ObamaCare, whose namesake has suggested that he would create a Solomonic Board will determine what quanity and how often?

Obama has even evolved on mandates that you MUST buy their own insurance plan.

Obama supporter, Warren Buffett, just said that the economy is in shambles and no recovery is in sight regardless of what Obama and Congress do.

Economics, my dear, ECONOMICS!

Hosquat
"We ARE US citizens,"

And how do we know that?

Hosquatch
And you have no proof Obama isn't a citizen not even the ability to weave a rational tale how Obama was born in Kenya and then smuggled into the US, yet still got a US passport. If his birth certificate was a forgery, the Department of State would have discovered this. They are pretty picky as to who gets US passports.

Since Mussolini was executed (by communists I might add) and then hung upside down along with his mistress, I think the Secret Service might be interested in your post owing to your desire to see the POTUS share a similar fate.

Jokes about the murder of the POTUS is not protected speech and the Secret Service doesn't have much of a sense of humor in this regard.

Recall a teen girl was visited by them when she had a website with "Kill Bush" on it. Unless you like talking to mindless government employees, I'd keep such comments to myself.

No, Akagi...
We ARE US citizens, and we will regain our country...Obama is the foreigner who has succeeded in a coup d'etat. He will be revealed eventually as the fraud he is and, hopefully, emulate Il Duce in his departure from the scene.

Rich
"He will usher in the total destruction of the USA, nothing in history is that bad!"

Sure he will.

You people are loons. But if you believe this, wouldn't it be a good idea to escape while you still can. If you are on a sining ship you don't stay onboard, you get off post haste.

I'd get my passport in order and go off to my future new country. Then get naturalized, renounce your US citizenship and you're done. No more Obama or the US to worry about. I'd pick someplace warm, maybe with nice beaches.

Seawolf
"The Iranian people should have been told from day one that they have our support in their quest for freedom..that's what this country has always stood for until this clown got elected."

American support? and what EXACTLY does that mean? That the US will invade if Iran doesn't stop what it is doing? Or is this a Aesop Lion and the Dolphin thing where the US will say words but actually do nothing. I can hear the leaders in Iran laughing already at the American paper tiger. So Obama instead says this "We stand with the people of Iran who desire to breathe the fresh air of freedom and to be free from the oppression of the brutal dictatorship imposed by the mullahs." Great...then what? What outside of words is the US willing to do. I'll tell you...nothing that's what.

I also might add that the US has not always stood on the side of freedom until this very moment. It has aided in overthrowing democratically elected governments (including in Iran itself), has supported brutal regimes and has even warned democratic governments on the behalf of repressive one-party states. But that is the world of realpolitik. However, you can climb off your moral high horse in this regard.

Agaki, yes the One is worse than
all of that! He will usher in the total destruction of the USA, nothing in history is that bad!

Lou
"who is not even a US citizen..."

And you have proof of this?

"And I don't mean a worthless Certification of Live Birth, a document Hawaii issues to those who do NOT have an authentic birth certificate."

And as factcheck.org pointed out, issued to US citizens born in Hawai'i as well. Politifact contacted the state of Hawai'i and was told that the COLB was "...a valid Hawaii state birth certificate." Snopes.com have reported the same thing and as have many others.

So you loons keep barking up this tree if you want. It just makes you look more crazy...if that is possible.

Obama's Performance!
We need to make sure that bloggers like this guy are showcased, as he puts a daily beatdown on Obama and the Dems. http://www.theblacksphere.net! FUNNY, satirical writing of the highest order.

Uneasy

"Korea's bombs and Iran's unrest are not important to this man."

His approach to both are not much different than Bush. And what would you have him do? Attack Iran? Attack the DPRK?

"All he can focus on is the complete destruction of America. Tear it down and rebuild it in his own sick, communist image."

Sure. And he is turning the US communist in what way? He took over a car company? Like me to list various non-communist countries that have government-owned (or has had) auto companies? And the same goes with the banks and a host of other entities.

"This man is the absolute worst thing that has ever happened to America."

Yes, slavery, the so-called civil war, reconstruction, the Great Depression, the treatment of the Indians, WWII, the internment of the Nisei, 9/11 all pale in comparison to the evil of Obama, correct?

Laura
"Obama's silence, and then lackluster "support" for the protesters in Tehran, reflect not circumspection, but his lack of genuine interest in the events of other nations, his complete ignorance of history, and his own secret sympathies for totalitarian regimes."

And support for any side in Iran is the one thing the US should not do as then they will be painted as puppets (at best) of the Americans or at worse agents of the CIA. Saying the US deplores the violence is one thing, picking sides is quite another. Often when foreigners pick sides it has the opposite effect...just ask the PRC about that when they supported Lin Yang-kang against Lee Teng Hui and Peng Ming-min in the 1996 presidential election.

"...(Think about it - what ultra-Lefty has EVER come out against Lenin, Stalin, Pol Pot, Castro, Ho Chi Minh, Kim Jong Il?)"

If the US had supported Ho instead of the French and then a series of equally despotic regimes in the South, the US would have been much better off. The southern regimes were no less brutal and a good deal more corrupt. And so you know, the US after 1975 supported the Khmer Rouge and Pol Pot against the pro-Vietnam puppet regime in Phnom Penh. I could also list a number of fairly brutal right-leaning regimes the US and the right have supported over the years too. Support for non-democratic regimes is not a monopoly held by the left.

Laura
"... his kid glove handling of the tyrannical nutcase in North Korea..."

How is Obama's handling of the DPRK any different from Bush, Clinton or anyone else back as far as you'd like to go?

The US has little ability to do anything against the DPRK. Yes, the Americans could have shot down the DPRK missile which would have been seen by the DPRK and many others as highly provocative and seeing how paranoid the DPRK is could have unleashed who knows what--the danger of the DPRK's response would far outweigh any benefits on that act.

There is one country that can really put the screws to thw DPRK and that is the PRC by cutting off their fuel, food and one of the few outlets to the outside world, the railway to China, but since this could cause the regime to collaspe and China doesn't want thousands or millions of refugees sitting in Jilin and Liaoning or having the DPRK launch a Korean War II, the PRC is unwilling to take this step.

What would you have Obama do? A bunch of tough (and useless) talk from Washington? Lot a good that'll do.

You are insane
zapdoodat

Not about Bush, as I actually agree, he is a Trotskyite, but the obama is a Lenin you moron

Hosquat
So, the banks are not now returning the TARP money forced upon them by the Bush-Bolshevik triumvirate?

Comments on comments...
"It's time to de-socialize under Obama." (Zapdoodat, 10:17am) --- Sorry, Zap. You are now certifiably insane. That BDS finally got you.

Seawolf, I usually agree with you completely but this time, only in part. I agree that Laura61 is absolutely correct in her analysis of Obeyme. However, sadly, I must disagree about John McCain...all he had to recommend him was his undeniably courageous military service. While McCain would have been better than Obeyme,
he is more liberal than conservative, often spitting in the face of conservatives to side with his Democrat friends. I will never support ANY member of the Gang of 14.

We need to cultivate a true conservative, a la Ronaldus Magnus, who lifted us from the Carter ashes, rebuilt the economy and shaped the world for the better. Jim Demint and Rick Santorum come to mind as longshots. Marco Rubio in FL is young but looks promising.

In the short run, we must stand in resolute opposition to Obama and his plans to deconstruct America. The tide is beginning to turn. By the way, WHERE IS THE BIRTH CERTIFICATE?

flap ears at 5 months
if flap ears were a conserv the libs would be demanding this excuse for a president would be aborted.

In that I whole heartedly agree.

Let's abort the b hussein obamarxist regime before it comes to full term.

This is one excuse for a government that needs to be put out of the countries misery.

noboma and the MSM
Truly, is the msm comming to life? Sure took those dummies a long time to see thru the Eggplant w/ears.

Mayby there is hope for such dummies as NBC, CBS, ABC.

Bet FOX is gloating because they saw right thru the Egg-plant w/ears phony commie, muslim ways.

Tide turning?
We are almost 12.5% of the way through Obama's administration.

Perhaps he has over-reached and has created real concerns among some who have voted for him. Also, politicians in his own party may now be more protective of their own turf instead of allowing Obama to continue his relentless power grab. Maybe, a Republican somewhere will heed the call to espouse conservative principles and values to a nation desperate for them. And maybe the political winds will neutralize Obama's schemes even before the 2010 election.

These are the thoughts I try to comfort myself with at this time. There HAS to be enough common sense self-interest in this country to prevent the economic demise, and national security dangers that a "successful" Obama presidency will bring about.

......there just HAS to be!

Korea's bombs
and Iran's unrest are not important to this man. All he can focus on is the complete destruction of America. Tear it down and rebuild it in his own sick, communist image. The man is the absolute worst thing that has ever happened to America.

Seawolf
"I believe this guy is a communist pure and simple."

As was George W. Bush. eorge Bush and Hank Paulson told top bankers last fall, that "they would have to accept government investment for the good of the American financial system."

Hugo Chavez, Venezuela's socialist president, found this a stunning move. He said, "Bush is to the left of me now!, Comrade Bush announced he will buy shares in private banks. Viva La Revolution!"

These banks are being allowed to return their TARP money that forced upon them by the Bush-Bolshevik party. It's time to de-socialize under Obama.

I think most people on this website didn't like Bush on domestic policies, unfortunately he was up against Al Gore and John Kerry. Bush didn't win. They lost. Hopefully, Republicans will learn their lesson and put conservatives in power. But it's unlikely.

Also there was Republican opposition. It was just McCain so you had liberal domestic agenda vs ultra liberal domestic agenda. Or a better view: Washingtonian elitist agenda vs. an ultra Washingtonian elitist agenda. There wasn't any hope this was going to turn out any different than it was.

Obama's Silence On Iran
The Messiah's silence about the vote in Iran was intentional. He does not want to upset his own plan in the U.S. for his next election and the probability of future liberal marxists election wins. What he is not condemning about the Iran election - it was stolen and fraudulent - is exactly what goes on in Chicago all the time. Plus, ACORN is a government sponsored marxist organization who is winning the battle for voters. Just the beginning!

the trouble with winning
The trouble with promising everything to everone is sometimes you actually win.

Obama Is A Megalomaniac
who is not even a US citizen. He is probably an illegal alien just like his auntie in Boston.

I wish he would prove me wrong and show that his is indeed eligible to be POTUS. And I don't mean a worthless Certification of Live Birth, a document Hawaii issues to those who do NOT have an authentic birth certificate.

Outstanding analysis of Il Duce, you nailed it.

I believe this guy is a communist pure and simple.

Given his roots [the ones we are allowed to see], his mentors and his associations, he can be nothing else.

It amazes me that compared to a patriot like JSM, a man completely trained and ready to lead this country in a time of war, a man with roots traceable to the Revolution, that this fool about whom we knew almost nothing except that he had very unsavory and anti-American friends, managed to get elected.

The only other community organizer to do so was Lenin and so far they appear to be very close in their idealogy.

Obama is not Kissingerian, part 2
Obama and his teeming, tingling throng have denounced Bush for 6 years for Bush's absurd and insane belief that people in the Middle East want freedom.

Now, dear me, just days after THE SPEECH IN CAIRO that was supposed to calm all the storms in the Middle East, a nascent revolution is breaking out in Iraq's next door neighbor Iran, fueled by people who want freedom.

Obama's silence, and then lackluster "support" for the protesters in Tehran, reflect not circumspection, but his lack of genuine interest in the events of other nations, his complete ignorance of history, and his own secret sympathies for totalitarian regimes. (Think about it - what ultra-Lefty has EVER come out against Lenin, Stalin, Pol Pot, Castro, Ho Chi Minh, Kim Jong Il?) The most that could be said of him is that he is convinced that HE would wield complete power differently.

Obama reactions are the reactions of a deer caught in the headlights. In his case, they are the klieglights of one who thrust himself on the world stage, self-important, diffident, and utterly unprepared.

He could not care less
about events in Iran - they are a "distraction" from his goal of socializing our health care and destroying what is left of our housing and our educational system. He is a socialist who agrees with the Rev. Wright, his mentor, and Bill Ayers, his pal. His next big project will be amnesty for illegal immigrants.

Obama is not Kissingerian, part 1
American history - like its present - is filled with isolationists; rational and intelligent people who say, "This is not our fight, and we do not belong there." FDR was one of them, of course. This didn't and doesn't stop them from condemning oppression in the strongest possible terms. (Even if they never want to do anything about it.) But there is a philosophy behind their attitude, and it goes back over 200 years in this country.

Obama is not an isolationist. He legitimately doesn't CARE about things going on elsewhere. He has little understanding of history (if any) and none about foreign policy. His entire world view is about black America versus white America (Rev. Jeremiah Wright's sermons are instructive here) and his perspective - foreign father and stepfather, time in Indonesia and Hawaii notwithstanding - is confined to the South Side of Chicago.

Issues in foreign countries ARE A DISTRACTION from what he REALLY wants to do, which is dismantle the American system of prosperity, reconfigure it in his own image, and take control of it so that he can dispense goodies to people he sees as having been "oppressed" by whites.

The "Obama Apology Tour" across Europe, the Middle East and South America, his kid glove handling of the tyrannical nutcase in North Korea, and his embracing of oppressive regimes in South America were all just his way of saying, "Bush was an idiot. You are right, America sucks. But worry not - I am here to transform it. Now go away and let me take over the entire American economy."

Think of it as the globopolitical version of saying, "Can I just eat my waffle?"

(to be continued)

This week proved that
Il Duce hasn't a clue as to what leadership is all about.
The Iranian people should have been told from day one that they have our support in their quest for freedom..that's what this country has always stood for until this clown got elected.

He's afraid that if he stands up like a man, like Reagan always did, the lefties will say he sold them out and he's one of them.
He is not interested in up-holding American values because it undercuts his agenda.

Everything he is doing is designed to bring down the capitalist system this country was founded on and replace it with socialism and then communism. That is his goal, a blind man can see it, anything else is a distraction.

And we must remember "I'll stand with the muslims" which means the ayatollahs, not the people.

Hoodwinked
We were sold on Obama’s image. Now, will we discount the facts or reject the image. Sometimes, I feel hoodwinked by the press.

The Obama Baloon Is Crashing
We Conservatives can't even enjoy schadenfreude over the growing dismay at this President's actions. It's good to enjoy the discomfort of all the fat cat Wall Street Masters of the Universe who contributed to his campaign and now are going to pay and pay and pay. But we who voted for his opponent, unfortunately, are going to have pay, too--big time.

If you disliked Bush, you're gonna hate Bush-on-steroids.

Fundamentally, how is Obeyme and his policies that different from what you disliked about Bush?

Under promise-over deliver.
Cliché for the road warriors or impossibilities lament for the modern political man?

The current President is not unlike an actor that wows the director and the playwright with a phenomenal audition reading. The pulses race as the script is given life and the casting votes cry out, 'we have found our voice' and he is us.

Then, the elation of being selected and the satisfaction of having chosen, changes to the exploratory grind of the rehearsal and its promise to perform as promised and expected.

When the actor plays false, or fails to play within the promise of the audition, the adventure, though now set, is oppressive and neither those that chose the player in the great audition or those that have come to view the promise of the great curtain rise are satisfied.

The curtain's subsequent lifts are met with stone faces and crumpled tickets, as the player improvises in the hope of keeping the original promise of the script that won him the role.

Yet many begin to squirm in their seats and in the high, far away rows of the great playhouse, murmurs of discontent swell as the player projects to be heard. Soon, some bold season holders ask pointblanketly, “why are you here, why can you not sing, why do you only dance”?

The rest of us ask look at others and ask, ‘who cast this fellow and who is he to our Hecuba and our Hecuba to him?’

Wish there was a pre-nup, too
Because I want all my tax money back after this guy leaves.

Waaah
It is a commonplace of Washington politics that it is not news when the other party attacks, but it is noteworthy when there is opposition within a president's own party.

>Hey Tony ... to bad you Republicans never figured this out with your last President. Perhaps if you had questioned some of Bush's polices then ... you all wouldn't be left on the side lines whining and crying now.<

Honey moon, ha
I can't wait for the divorce from this fraud
