Will the Dems' health care Christmas Present to America be an improvement or detriment to our health care system?

With two weeks still left in President-elect Barack Obama's transition and because of the alleged corrupt conduct of several people in his proximity and his own passivity and public silence (and the inherent drama of current events), his has become the most dramatic presidential transition in memory.

The phrase "No Drama Obama" was born March 12, 2008, when retired Air Force Gen. Merrill McPeak, who was campaigning for Obama, labeled him "No Shock Barack, No Drama Obama." It is fair to say that this useful and rhyming campaign slogan finally and formally was laid to rest last Sunday, when -- after weeks of Illinois transition opera bouffe and colorful Caroline Kennedy Senate-snatching efforts -- Obama's designated commerce secretary, Bill Richardson, withdrew his name one step ahead of a New Mexico grand jury.

Team Obama lost no time Sunday afternoon turning that embarrassing incident into a classless finger-pointing exercise, as they backgrounded Richardson's treachery. According to ABC News, "Officials on the Obama Transition Team feel that before he was formally offered the job of commerce secretary, New Mexico Gov. Bill Richardson was not forthcoming with them about the federal investigation that is looking into whether the governor steered a state contract towards a major financial contributor." Of course, no one has suggested that Obama knew either of Richardson's alleged conduct or what his transition team was saying to ABC News.

Also on Sunday, the normally Obama-friendly New York Times went after Obama's designated secretary of state, with the following headline and lead: "A Donor's Gift Soon Followed Clinton's Help." "An upstate New York developer donated $100,000 to former President Bill Clinton's foundation in November 2004, around the same time that Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton helped secure millions of dollars in federal assistance for the businessman's mall project." Of course, no one is suggesting that Obama had any personal knowledge of these Clinton transactions at the time he nominated her.

It is too soon to tell whether The New York Times' innuendo will threaten her confirmation. Presumably, Obama's Democratic Senate allies will not want to embarrass him with two withdrawn nominations. But it is undeniable that Obama's selection for secretary of state (and her husband) will provide foreign intelligence services with endless embarrassing information to be leaked worldwide during the pendency of her service as secretary of state. Presumably, Obama considered this risk and judged that it was outweighed by the value to him of her vast experience and worldwide reputation as the former first lady and one-term senator.

It is rare and inauspicious, though not unprecedented, for a newly elected president to have to withdraw a Cabinet nominee. (Bill Clinton famously had to try three times before finding an attorney general nominee who had not appeared to violate the immigration and tax codes. George H.W. Bush lost his secretary of defense nominee, John Tower, to rumors of drinking and whoring.) But the Rod Blagojevich, Kennedy, Richardson and Clinton messes are merely unfortunate.

What history may judge more harshly is Obama's silence (as I write this column) on the Israeli/Hamas war. Even if he speaks by the time this column is published, he has badly mismanaged his "Muslim outreach" initiative, which he described during the campaign as important. Obama famously asserted that he wanted to "reboot" America's relations with the 1.4 billion Muslims. (The term "reboot" itself was an unfortunate choice, given Muslims' disdain for shoes.)

He went to Israel during the campaign and said -- referring to Hamas rockets hitting Israel -- that if such a thing happened to his daughters, there is nothing he wouldn't do to stop it. That statement clearly was seen as a green light for Israel to defend itself. Whether Obama intended it that way we will never know.

Then, when Israel took action two weeks ago, Obama remained silent. The result in the Middle East was well-described by The Guardian, a British newspaper, last weekend: "Obama is losing a battle he doesn't know he's in. The president-elect's silence on the Gaza crisis is undermining his reputation in the Middle East. (His) chances of making a fresh start in US relations with the Muslim world, and the Middle East in particular, appear to diminish with each new wave of Israeli attacks on Palestinian targets in Gaza. That seems hardly fair, given the president-elect does not take office until January 20. But foreign wars don't wait for Washington inaugurations."

Now, I -- and many other conservatives -- always thought Obama was being unforgivably naive in thinking he could talk us out of the clash of civilizations between radical Islam and the West.

But my views notwithstanding, given Obama's intentions, his first gratuitous words (in Israel) followed now by his loud silence seem rather obviously destined to undercut his own intentions. If he intends to shrewdly lead the world, he should understand that images of him golfing in Hawaii while saying nothing as Palestinians are being bombed to death are going to be both seen and condemned in the Middle East, which he aspires to lead to better days.

Perhaps, like Jack Kennedy's Bay of Pigs fiasco, this will be an early lesson for Obama in Being President 101.

Good column...
... but I almost wish I hadn't read it. All the rhetoric about 'hope & change' has fast-faded and even his cheerleaders are waking up to the fact that we're in uncharted waters with a rank amateur at the helm. Frighteningly, the adults may be able to say 'I told you so' sooner rather than later. It'll be no consolation.

And the inauguration hasn't even happen
I remember when it was questioned as to why President Bush went to Crawford when we were fighting a war on two fronts and there were many issues that still needed President Bush's attention. Even when President Bush went out for a jog, he got attacked for doing that. President Bush being the sitting President is a target for such attacks. Obama hasn't even been sworn in yet. There's a time and place for everything. Being too eager in trying to connect the dots closes the door on more important issues. There's a lot of time in which to attack Obama after the inauguration. The guilty by association ploy is just about used up and needs to be put away until either indictments or impeachments are reached. President Bush didn't become whoever he crossed paths with or spoke with. Give us credit to know the difference in who stains the President elect Obama's Presidency and who doesn't. Some times the dots don't connect until we force them to.

oh just wait!
Just you wait, once we get to January 21st things will be a lot different! I am so looking forward to the day when America is loved again. I mean I truly care how we look to a bunch of people embracing the past while the future passes them by. Happy days are coming, I just can't wait! it will be Obamarific! just you wait!

May i join e good posts?
As noted, being able to say i told you so is no consolation. Despite the ineptnesss of people like Bush and McConnel, which increases Obama's chances to blame the oncoming debacle on Bush, events seem to be making it less and less likely Obama will be able to do much except stand staunchly at the helm, chin up, as the ship grinds ont the rocks.
2nd Bn 11th FA. Irony and sarcasm are often difficult for me to distinguish. Whether or not to take you literally, i appreciate your service. I was AAA, C Battery, 1st GM Reg.

OOps
3 not e

Well, One thing for sure.

Obama is not up for the challenge. He simply lacks the experience, skill, and character to do well as President.

It won't matter if he takes 1 month or 6 months to begin governing. He is ill equipped to perform the duties.

Obama
seems to avoid all conflict. His deafening silence has been heard for years on other issues. His lack of backbone and character should have been obvious to anyone with half a brain. Those who voted for him bought in to the facade instead of the truth and refused to see or listen to reality.

Obama's transition so far has been one of a dark cloud of shady characters and Chicago thuggery. So much to respect and be proud of...

Will Obama Crack?
Or will he grow a pair?

guess we will find out soon

but his voice on Gaza doesn't give me a good opinion

Eric
You bring up an interesting question. The motivations, the things Liberals revere (I won't call them principles) do not work well under stress. Harsh reality is an unwelcome intrusion into their starry-eyed pie in the sky iniverse. Panic, aimless reaction, blaming others are their problem solving techniques. As you note, Obama's career has been one of only betting cinches. If there is a down side, he just votes present. That is not going to fly much longer. The identity voters who elected JFK and Peanut Jimmy were disillusioned within a couple years. Will Obama's glow last that long? Hard to tell. His problems are bigger, but his followers are more fanatic.

Pray
It appears that America is in a heap of trouble that we didn't see coming just last year. Time to get on your knees, please.

This, too...
Is above his pay grade.

Those of us who pay attention
saw all of this coming a year ago.
We saw a dangerously naive and arrogant elitist who was in the snake-oil business going about the country promoting anything that could get him elected.

Well a majority bought it and we are stuck with this clown and his marxist philosophy. I just wonder how many of us will survive to see him defeated in four years. This country had a golden opportunity to put an adult with proven leadership abilities in office while we are in dangerous waters, instead we got a child with delusions of grandeur because a majority are clueless and greedy. The ship of state has no rudder.

a twofer

Goody, Israel is kicking Palestinian and Obombo a$$. What with the appointments scandals the year is beginning better than I had feared it would.

Testing Time for the Teacher
Welcome to the real world, Barack Obama.

A pseudo Messiah who could raise his hand and order the seas to fall finds himself faced with the real decades-old dilemma of the Israeli-Palestinian imbloglio. He has Palestinian supporters and Jewish supporters. How does the Annointed One solve this racial and generational crisis without alienating one or both antagonists?

"Words, just words" aren't the solution as his predecessors have discovered.

A rookie quarterback in the big leagues is about to discover that there are no "Hail Mary" passes that will win this game.

Welcome to the real world.

It's the second coming of...
Jimmy Carter. I remember when he was president and the man had analaysis paralysis. He over thought everything and by consequence, nothing got done. Jimmy Carter agonized over even the smallest of decisions and micromanaged every aspect of his presidency. BHO will do the same.

AMEN Brother Hawkeye58
"Goody, Israel is kicking Palestinian and Obombo a$$. What with the appointments scandals the year is beginning better than I had feared it would."

I don't want to say I'm rooting for obambi's demise, but I'm rooting for obambi's demise. His muslim kinfolk must be getting kind of annoyed.

As long as they're at it, I think Israel should do an end run and stick one in Iran's jugular. They've got another 13 days of a friendly administration in the White House.

Regarding Foreing Affairs..

Obambi's 'No comment' about the current Israeli v Hamas conflict is the equivalent of voting "Present".

Once in office though he plans to take decisive action on foreign affairs issues. He's going to close his eye's tightly, stick his fingers in his ears, and go "LA LA LA LA LA LA LA CAN'T HEAR YOU LA LA LA".

Didn't See This Coming?
Fawn, swoon, feint and tingle up your leg. Didn't see this coming? Do not open your eyes for the next 8 years or you might become disturbed. Didn't check Obamamama beyond the MSM's adoration of the new coming? It is okay to feel bad at this time, because it is going to get dramatically worse and it will be events that will destroy the US even more. Obamamama's opening the door of the big tent is fabulous - Clinton, Kennedy, Panetta, Richardson, Daschle, Arne Duncan -- and a host of other losers shows that the empty suit needs more help than politics has to offer.

From an original Star Trek

A young ruler after killing and taking over from the old ruler says: ""Perhaps to be a Teer is to see in new ways. "

Maybe BHO is seeing that wanting is not always the same as possessing.

pb @1:05am
You are so very right. Maybe we can “hope” that Obama will “change” his motis operandi and actually do more than just talk but I would not suggest holding your breath. For that matter, as Mr. Blankley stated, we aren’t even getting talk from Obama; just a deafening silence that speaks volumes about the importance of experience and Obama’s lack thereof.

Yes we might get to say “I told you so” but a fat lot of good it will do us. No consolation indeed!

2nd Bn 11th FA @1:45am
Steel on Target! I love the sarcasm. Leave it to the “big guns.” 2nd Bn 11th FA is with the “electric strawberry” isn’t it? I had a friend from AIT who went to the islands. I envied him until he told me about the fun he had crawling around on volcanic rock in the high hills. Keep up the good work soldier.

Trapper Frank @7:42am
Yes it is the second coming of Carter, only a much less experienced version. While he was one of the worse Presidents in history, at least Carter actually served his country as an officer in the navy and had executive experience as Governor of Georgia. Obama has never run anything but a campaign and his yap. I fear that Obama will not even measure up to the lousy job Carter did.

ALL WRONG
What you fail to understand is Obama doesnt have to do a thing! Thats why he's silent! This will all be blamed on failed Bush policies. By the way baldness and cancer will disappear on Jan 21st after his Obamaness is president. Its gonna be Obasmic!!!

Corndog
You never disappoint; you always hit it out of the ballpark. I surely do hope that the Muslims are becoming unhappy with President Defect Obama.

"LA LA LA LA LA LA LA CAN'T HEAR YOU LA LA LA". I think you figured out the Obama Administration foreign policy!

Scary thought
I just saw a part of a CNN report on the transition, and behind the news reader was a picture of Barry and the words "Transition to POWER." The workd "power" was all caps, and in red (appropriate colour I thought.), and I found that scary. In my opinion, Barry and his incoming mis-administration do not want to govern, they want to be our rulers.

Jewish support for Obama
Many people wondered why Barrack had so much support from American Jews.

In their wisdom they could have foreseen how ineffective he would be and were banking on 4, possibly 8 years of cleaning up the region unimpeded.

Smart move.

Remain Silent
The Chosen One needs to remain silent because, were he to speak, he would merely expose his ignorance. After all, this is the man who has never had a real job and who opted to vote 'Present' rather than make a decision while lounging around in the Senate smoking area waiting for payday. Did anyone seriously believe that this half-black anti-American Kenyan was presidential material?

Credit where credit is due
I have to admit as I watch more snow piling up on the icey snow already remaining on the ground, by just being elected, Obama brought global warming to a screeching halt, now if he can only do the same for other problems.

power
wbheff
good observation regarding the "power" thing - wasn't the
whole 60's radical thing (ayers and company) packaged as "power to the people"?

obama is totally inept - we have all had inept managers at our jobs, and we know that they always try to mange things based on the "i am the boss" mentality. i expect that obama will descend into that very same mentality.

Calling All Texans!!!
Sorry about this not being directly responsive to this thread, but I am trying to get, at least, Texas on the right track with Illegal Immigration. Please read this:

Come with us on Wednesday, January 28 to lobby the Texas Legislature on HB 266 and other bills. We will be representing IRCOT, the Immigration Reform Coalition of Texas, http://www.ircot.com. The legislators are most impressed by the “physical” presence of Texans coming to Austin. One person represents hundreds and hundreds of their constituents. More information will be coming soon. Space is limited on the bus and RSVP is required. You may follow us in your personal car or meet us at the capitol as well.

Will I see you there?

Pistol.
The "ineptness" of Bush is that he has never called the libtards out for what they are. He sat back and took it. Even clinton triumphantly held press conferences after getting b!tch slapped and doing the bidding of the GOP majorities.......

On the middle east......that shyte has been going on for 60+ years.....so whats new.

Follow the Alinsky tactics....create a premise, raise that premise to a state of emergency, attack on that premise, when confronted....marginalize the individual. Never address the problem.
The left holds PhD's in this tactic......

Obama the blank screen
I know a woman who married a man who seemed to be her ideal match. Later, she learned he was a blank screen, and she was projecting her dreams and wishes onto this screen. He had no real personality of his own, so he never did anything that would puncture this fantasy. Eventually, though, the couple wound up divorcing. There's a point where even the most deeply held fantasy demands positive action to support it.

One thing I've noticed about Obama is that he's the same sort of blank screen. People can project their fantasies onto this screen, and Obama will carefully do and say nothing to shatter their illusions.

Sooner or later, the fantasies are going to demand positive action to support them. At this point, he'll have to disappoint at least some of the people, at least some of the time.

Maybe he'll manage to be the Anti-Lincoln and dissapoint all of the people all of the time.

Re: OOPS!!!
OOH NOO!!! It looks like Mr. Obamarxist has slipped up and no one has the guts to call him on the carpet except this person who wrote this article. Look, Obamarxist had better have some really good experienced people arround him or this guy is fixin to be like Peanut Jimmy!! The entire situation will be a total goof job!! The mainstream media has died and does not do any reporting to tell the American people what is going to happen with this clown at the helm!!!

The only thing I credit Obama for...
...is NOT making comments on foriegn policy. He is doing the right thing by keeping his mouth shut.Has everyone forgotten we have a sitting president whose job it is to make foriegn policy and other politicians should be very careful on what they say lest we give foriegnors the impression we do not speak with one voice when it comes to foriegn policy.

Domestic policy is fair game, but not foriegn policy. He is doing what he should be doing. So ease up on that type of critisism.

anybody got any ideas
about how to solve this mess.

keeping in mind that the sitting president has done nothing what exactly would blankly suggest obama say or do.

in my opinion, all we can do is wait until israel is done with their offensive and figure out where to go.

also, lets keep in mind that hamas was democratically elected because of bushes push to bring democracy to the mid-east.

in other words, blankly is calling for obama to clean up the mess left by bush policies even before he is sworn in.

not very realistic.

Obama Caught in the Headlights
This is what it looks like. He has never once had to make a stand or a decision on anything. Vote present, tow the party line, basically continue the "reelection mode". He doesn't know what to do. Doesn't Obama know that once you win the Presidency, your political career is over? For the first time in his life, Obama has to make decisions and he doesn't know what to do.

Maddow Israel Starts another war

"But while we're on the wild wide world of scary tour, of course, Israel has started another war.

A third straight day of airstrikes on Gaza, the death toll now more than 300 people.

Israel says they are doing this to prevent Palestinians from firing rockets into southern Israel. First of all, there's the question of proportionality as to how many people those rockets have killed versus how many people the Israeli bombing has now killed.

There's also the issue of effectiveness.

In the midst of this massive air assault killing hundreds of civilians in Gaza, a rocket fired from Gaza today killed a man and wounded seven in the Israeli town of Ashkelon. Effectiveness. Three Israelis were also stabbed by a Palestinian in a Jewish settlement in the West Bank today. Is there a military solution to this problem?"
Rachel Maddow

Typical Liberal nonsense!

retired geek
exactly what part of this is nonsense.

seems to be pretty straight forward reporting to me.

"By the way baldness and cancer will disappear on Jan 21st after his Obamaness is president. Its gonna be Obasmic!!!

As someone thats losing his hair thats great news!

Oh
so that's the reason, Marion why we have had more snow recently, and that come Jan.22 it won't allllll go
awaaaaay and I can't plant a palm tree in my yard. Awww, I had such plans.... Does that mean the oceans will freeze, how will he make them recede if they freeze? So many earth shattering problems and only 4 years to solve them..tsk tsk.

christianlib
"also, lets keep in mind that hamas was democratically elected because of bushes push to bring democracy to the mid-east."

What is this...six degrees of separation of blame Bush?

Hamas being democratically elected should and would show something to a real thinker, and that would be Hamas' true intentions. Forming a country of their own is not part of it.

lolo1
how are you doing?
well i hope.

every one in the region told bush that he should not push for elections because of the possibility that hamas would be elected into power but it was the early stages of his "democratize the mideast" philosophy.

i am not blaming bush, because i understand that he and the other neo-cons really believed in the idealistic notion that democracy would end terroism.

it just didn't turn out the way they expected because they really never understood the cultures of the mideast.

Just remember that everyone liked him!
Unfortunately, the vast majority of Americans elected Obama because they "liked" him.

They paid no attention to his lack of experience, his obvious ties to corrupt officials, or even the fact that the only answer he gave as to when life begins was "above his pay grade."

A recent study revealed that the majority of Americans do not have have a basic knowledge of our constitution, or government. For more than a generation, American school children have not been taught civics, or history. Teachers are not allowed to fail students who are instead taught to "feel good about themselves." Instead of working toward a better future, they have been given a sense of entitlement.

Combine that with the liberal media and their "tingly-leg" syndrome, and I ask you— should we be surprised that our citizens elected a man whose campaign consisted of impossible-to achieve promises?

Unfortunately it will be difficult to turn around on this oh-so-slippery slope upon which we have embarked.

A book for Obama to read
Perhaps someone should present President-elect Obama with a copy of Oriana Fallaci's "The Rage and the Pride." She laid out in precise language the militant Muslims' plans to over run Western Europe, England, and the United States, forcing their beliefs on all those they would confront. Her prophecies are slowly but surely coming to pass. This courageous lady who died of cancer in 2006 will remain one of the few exceptional journalists/authors who laughed at the many threats made on her life. She was denied entrance into her own homeland, Italy, where she preferred to spend her last days. Fortunately, this mean spirited demand was revoked, allowing her to die peacefully.

Richard in NY:
You need to get some new talking points - your posts are way beyond boring. You keep repeating yourself like some deranged idiot - oh that's right - you're a liberal - I guess you don't know any better. LOL

Might I remind folks that The One went to Iraq pre election and tried to negotiate with the Iraqi government to favor him once he took office from Bush. Obama will yap his trap when he thinks it will benefit him. However, he seems to lay low when there seems to be any political risk for him. Criticism is fair in this case regarding Gaza.

Conservative Columnists Should Go Away?
I wonder if folks like Ricky in NY suggested that liberal columnists should just go away when the democrats were rejected soundly in the early 2000 elections. After all, democrats were soundly rejected then, as the republicans have been know. Keep in mind, the pendulum will swing back, eventually. Me? I'm still waiting for a good libertarian set of thugs to run the government. You, know, the ones who are comfortable with "The People" deciding how to spend their own hard earned money and owning firearms for legitimate purposes.

Nam 65-66, you make a good point. No argument there. I agree it is appropriate that Obama does not speak on foreign affairs until he actually takes office.

Richard, if you don't like what has been stated here, that is your prerogative, but insulting the writer of this article accomplishes nothing. May I suggest you go to a web site such as Common Dreams. I think you would fit in nicely there.

Since both of you are from N.Y., maybe you can help me out. I'm still scratching my head trying to figure out why the good people of N.Y. ever thought electing Hillary Clinton to be their U.S. senator was a good idea.

Joel in MN:
AMEN!!!!

I have as much experience as Obama
Except his voting of "Present" beats me by a nose. But the U.S decided this last election that experience doesn't matter, so maybe I'll throw in my gloves in 2012 and use emotion to capture the nation

Conned by 'Obama' a Snake Oil Salesman

Barack Obama has never held a job that did NOT involve talking- unless you consider 'Organizing Communities for Communists' a job.

Barack Obama has 'ZERO' executive experience - he has never even run a lemonade stand.

Barack Obama was elected President of Harvard Law Review but published 'NOTHING".

Barack Obama was an Illinois Senator 1996-2004 - voted 'Present' 129 times.

Barack Obama never authored and brought to vote ONE BILL of his own. You know, the stuff, senators are supposed to do. Not just show up and vote 'present'.

Barack Obama, as a US Senator logged 143 days of which he accomplished 'NOTHING'.

Barack Obama (off teleprompter) name the most significant thing you have ever done? uhh umm er uh duh

Barack Obama could not even run his own campaign - David Axelrod did.

Liberals are bragging about being 'Conned' - how funny!

if you are a good enough 'Con Man' like Barack Obama – which involves appearing not quite good enough and rather sympathetic to those they 'Con' – you will get away with it.

Barack Obama walking the path between the 'Obama Current Truth' and the delusions of those who trust him - this apparition is either a fiend or the 'Messiah'.

The advantage Barack Obama has over his 'Rubes', is that his lies about his past and lies about the future of his 'Rubes' are so outlandish - the Obama lies are transmuted until the 'Rubes' rejoice in their being conned.

This orgiastic moment could only be achieved on those decadent 'Rubes' that think they are so intelligent that they could NOT possibly be conned - what a group!

'change'
Please you chuckleheads didn't even wnat him ELECTED and now you chumps are bitching about him not doing his 'job' WHEN HE HASN'T EVEN BEEN SWORN IN YET STUPIDS!!! As for 'elitism' and 'arrogance' I never seen it exsit MORE than with the Reyucklicans or their supporters meaning you a-holes! And just who pray tell miss thang are we supposded to blame exactly?!! The man who doesn't even have the job yet or the coke-snorting,drunk driving,C and D student who only got into Yale because of 'daddy' making phone calls, has countless lives and billions of dollars with a fake,pointless,failure-laden,worthless,b.s. war. But you all keep whining about Obama's supposed 'failures' and 'corrupt' connections but don't or won't acknowledge WE'VE HAD THAT FOR THE LAST 8 YEARS! And it reallly gets me how you jizzholes can blither blather about the 'race card' yet have NO PROBLEM promoting a racist agenda with snide, hateful comments disguised as 'opinion' and 'freedom of speech'. Or speaking of 'worst' yet defending one who was worse than a BUNCH OF THEM PUT TOGETHER talk about drinking the kool-aid!!

Appointments
I'm sure Obama has properly vetted his nominees. I suspect neither Richardson nor Clinton own a gun, but clearly corruption is not a deal breaker for Team Obama.

Lavern
Just as you have the "freedom of speech" to call republicans names we have the "freedom of speech" to say things that just might offend your delicate little sensibilities. Get over it

Lavern
If we are Reyucklicans does that make you a Dumbassocrat?

Tom,Ga...
...Clinton was elected because the "good people of New York"didn't vote for her.Tells you something about how many good people live in New York.

Of course,I can't speak for Richard.

Good one,N!!!!!
.

Bay of Pigs?.More like slice of bacon..
It must be really hard to be a Republican...The Republican house members just decided (after months!) that the GOP should offer a "stimulus package" of their own...You know,so it won't look like they're being "obstructionists"...Now we have Blankely shooting blanks at POTUS 44 on the Middle east flare-up....Of course, it's would not be a stretch to imagine Tone criticizing Obama if he GAVE an opinion on the Gaza situation. After all, we KNOW that the Conservatives want Dubya to have his full term. Even if no one (including Tony)is paying attention to him.
After all, some GOP pundits are already sniping at the guy for meeting with Congress on the economic crisis...The problem with all the GOP pundits is that they just can't help but to try to cross that Bridge to nowhere! The comedic part of Blankely's essay is when he compares "silence on Gaza" with Kennedy's Bay of Pigs....Yes, it looks like the "loyal opposition" is in full form for 2009..I'm sure Tony will continue to rail against Obama for all manners of evil, real and imagined...The good news is that MOST of America (and a small portion of the Townhall faithful) is anxiously awaiting January 20th. That's when the whistle blows and the lifeguard shouts "out of the pool! It's time for Adult Swim!"....

Eligibility
Has Obama addressed the fact that he is not a natural born US citizen yet?

Obama just isn't ready.

As we can all see, Obama just isn't ready to lead the country.

He is a follower. He plays it safe. He votes "present" when bold leadership is needed.

DECK OF CARDS
The 700 plus million dollar deck of cards barry played to get elected are not the same cards nor from the same deck he'll use once he's actually sworn in, won the pot and in office. He has to keep his cards close to his chest so that he can't be called out as the 'cheat' that he is prior to winning the pot.
And then he'll play his cards any way he chooses, for barry and his band of bandits will make up the games and the rules as they see fit. What is in the best interests of our Country, the American people and probably Israel are NOT in barrys cards. But rest assured, he'll PLAY us.

Mr Obama
