Poll
Will the Dems' health care Christmas Present to America be an improvement or detriment to our health care system?

As Obama's election has seemed to become more likely in the past six weeks, a quiet but public debate has arisen among both Republicans and Democrats that wonders which Obama we might get. Will it be the prudent, moderate, pragmatic, sensible president who will apply non-ideological, centrist policies? Or will it be the Obama who sought out the company of radicals, black racists, faculty-lounge Marxists and studied the methods of Saul Alinsky?

Many hope that it is the sensible centrist who will emerge -- even though it has been his style and cautiously evasive comments, rather than his substance, that have sounded so reasonable and calm. It is that moderate tone that has led some recent Republican Obama supporters to hope that he is just lying about his views and is secretly "sensible." Although they do hope he told the truth when he said during the primary that his call for the unilateral rewriting of the North American Free Trade Agreement was merely rhetorical flourish on his part.

But of course, throughout history when dangerous, radical men have offered themselves up for leadership, their moderate supporters have rationalized their early support by hoping that the dangerous man is really a sensible man like them and doesn't believe some of those wild things he has said to his more fervent followers.

But as the campaign clock ticks down to its last days and hours, prudent people have to consider the possibility that beneath that easy manner and calming voice is the pulsating heart of a genuine man of the radical left.

For example, according to Ryan Lizza of the liberal New Republic, Obama's early mentor in the Alinsky method of social agitation was Mike Kruglik, whom Lizza paraphrased as saying: "(Obama) was a natural, the undisputed master of agitation, who could engage a room full of recruiting targets in a rapid-fire Socratic dialogue, nudging them to admit that they were not living up to their own standards. As with the panhandler, he could be aggressive and confrontational. With probing, sometimes personal questions, he would pinpoint the source of pain in their lives, tearing down their egos just enough before dangling a carrot of hope that they could make things better."

As Kyle-Anne Shiver in the American Thinker explained after quoting those words: "The agitator's job, according to Alinsky, is first to bring folks to the 'realization' that they are indeed miserable, that their misery is the fault of unresponsive governments or greedy corporations, then help them to bond together to demand what they deserve, and to make such an almighty stink that the dastardly governments and corporations will see imminent 'self-interest' in granting whatever it is that will cause the harassment to cease.

"In these methods, euphemistically labeled 'community organizing,' Obama had a four-year education, which he often says was the best education he ever got anywhere."

And now we have Obama's genuinely shocking words from a 2001 National Public Radio interview: "But the Supreme Court never ventured into the issues of redistribution of wealth and more basic issues of political and economic justice in this society. And to that extent, as radical as I think people try to characterize the Warren court, it wasn't that radical.

It didn't break free from the essential constraints that were placed by the Founding Fathers in the Constitution, at least as it's been interpreted, and the Warren court interpreted it in the same way that generally the Constitution is a charter of negative liberties. . And one of the, I think, tragedies of the civil rights movement was -- because the civil rights movement became so court-focused, I think that there was a tendency to lose track of the political and community organizing and activities on the ground that are able to put together the actual coalitions of power through which you bring about redistributive change. . The Constitution reflected an enormous blind spot in this culture that carries on until this day. . The Framers had that same blind spot . the fundamental flaw of this country."

Now, just as the left often baselessly throws around the word "racist," the right is often extravagant with its charge of Marxism. But those accurate, in context words of Obama must raise in the mind of any reasonable person the suspicion that Obama's heart and soul is dangerously close -- if not fully seized of -- a Marxist (or perhaps Marxist Christian liberation theology) view of human and economic relations.

Consider that these words came from a man who has urged his followers to "get in the face" of his opponents and has exalted recently -- in an uncharacteristic moment of lack of restraint -- that he has "a righteous wind" at his back. That is a revealing word, righteous. It suggests that a person's actions have been "judged" or "reckoned" as leading a life that is pleasing to God. A verse in the Bible's book of Psalms speaks of one being shielded by God and receiving favor because of righteousness.

We live in dangerous days. The world economy teeters on the edge of the abyss. The exiting American president is a failed thing. An envious world smells a momentarily vulnerable America. The political beneficiary of Republican failure believes our Constitution is fatally flawed. He may be a committed Marxist. And if he held the presidency for four years, it would be the longest stretch that he ever held a full-time job. God save the republic.

Tony
That was an excellent article. Very thought provoking.

I hope that you make others think about the consequences here. Taking this risk of electing Barack Obama could affect generations to come. There are just too many unanswered questions.

I think if we all thought about each other, and not just our own feelings, we would make a better choice. A lot of people are at stake here. It is not about being a Democrat or Republican.

Yes, we need help and change here now, but the change must be positive. Not just change for change sake.

Thank you Tony. It confirmed my thoughts.

No consequences.
The entire lot who have flocked to this character, whether up-front or late in the game, deserve nothing but contempt. But, hey, this is the country that nearly elected the wife of the first impeached president to the very same office.

I expect the former Detroit mayor, who was finally jailed today, will be running for governor in the next election cycle.

Curiouser and curiouser!

St. George's Hill in our time

Like the "Diggers" of old that wanted to seize land for the benefit of all in 17th century England; Sen. Obama plots to seize wealth and redistribute it for some wretched purpose known to him as the common good.

The "sensible" or the 'agitated' inner man is not at issue here. For an issue to be present there must be conflict.

The only conflict present and raging with Sen. Obama is the chafe that occasions from the bridle he bites at the bit as he keeps himself in check prior to the last vote cast.

This is not a cool hand, a gunslinger with narrow gaze. Sen. Obama is the magazine spring suppressed, bearing its rounds pent and stacked awaiting explosion. Springs unsprung are the antithesis of "easy manner." They are the coil that conceal the crypto candidate herein.

Sen. Obama finds the Constitution deficient, the Framers too concerned with its negative powers. He is by his own words a political man drawn to the notion that government can more than it is supposed to be.

A "man of the hard left?" Sen. Obama will channel his inner "Digger" and be the red plowman in our fertile fields.

Massah Obama
As far as I can tell, jealousy and envy are the twin pillars of his principle message. How uplifting and inspiring.

Who is Barack Obama?
Thanks Tony, for an excellent and thought provoking argument.

Santayana said: "Those who do not learn from history are doomed to repeat it."

I spent 40 years, since the 1968 Chicago Democratic Convention, as a good citizen, but not an active one.

A few weeks ago, I watched a video 'Obsession' that woke me up to the danger we face from Islamic terrorism. Then I started researching Barack Obama, just curiosity. About 3 weeks ago, I told my wife I probably knew as much about Barack Obama as anyone. She asked me what I thought the Lord would have me do with that knowledge. I said I didn't know, but then decided to compile the links I'd used to learn about Obama into a form that could be emailed.

If you have read any of my posts on other sites, you know the extreme danger I believe Barack Obama, and his radical left and Islamist allies, pose to this nation.

I won't repeat any of it here, but I would strongly encourage you to look at my blog http://billlong.blogtownhall.com. I believe that the Lord had me compile a tool that can be used to reveal the truth about Barack Obama and help set this nation free from the most extreme threat it's faced in the last 70 years - ever since Hitler was trying to take over the world. But it needs to be used. And not just by me. Read it, and if you think it gives an accurate profile of Barack Obama, use it to share with others who need to know the truth about Obama before they vote.

banal blather by blankley
I think Blankley needs to cut down on the koolaid.

It is impossible to definitively know how a president will govern.

Recall that G.W. Bush advocated a humble foreign policy, eschewing meddlesome interventionism, when he campaigned for the presidency in 2000.

And he promised to be fiscally disciplined.

Yet he totally betrayed those campaign promises.

Obama is on solid ground in commenting that as great as our Constitution was at its inception, it nonetheless failed incorporate blacks and women as full citizens.

People toss around terms such as Marxism without any inkling of what they are talking about.

In terms of the dreaded specter of "redistribution of income" supposedly advanced by Obama, is not our progressive tax system, our medicare and medicaid assistance programs, our social security, examples of redistribution of income?

Those programs have not turned the United States into a Marxist nation.

I strongly suspect Obama will govern as a moderate liberal, not that much different from Bill Clinton.

This hyperventilating fear of an Obama presidency by some who mistakenly view themselves as genuine conservatives(instead of neocon hawks...which is their true orientation)bespeaks a doom and gloom that I don't think is justified.

A time for action
Go to goptrust.com to see the new 30-second Rev. Wright-Obama 20 year friendship running now in 5 battelground states.

As Ronald Reagan asked "If not now, when, if not us, who"?

We need to donate all we can to expose the fraud that Obama is:

1. He will open our southern borders and allow imediate voter registration to these non-citizens to keep the Dems in business.

2. He will make socialism the "rock" upon which America stands. Our Founding Fathers will be rolling in their graves - many men died long ago fighting against high taxation and for the rights we have today - as American citizens. No matter Obama and the Dems pay no attention to them. We will make them understand our Founding Fathers - by defeating them.

Go to goptrust.com to see the ad and make a donation today! It will bury Obama's chances in the battleground states and give us OH, FL, PA VA, IA, WI, NV, CO, and VA.

The invented Obama
Sensible, pragmatic Obama? Who invented that guy? The real Obama is the one we see via his own words, voting record and abominable associations. The media Illuminati have tried, in vain, to prop up their one-dimensional version. One good wind will blow him over.

Obama loses
If McCain-Palin grab Pennsylvania from Obama — and keep Florida, Ohio and North Carolina — McCain wins!

Welcome to Dystopia
The handwriting is on the wall: A Democrat president and a Democrat-Liberal Congress will plunge us into a dystopia hell.

Remember this universal principle:

When you tax something you get less of it;
When you subsidize something you get more of it.

Obama will tax the country into a Depression and subsidize a constantly growing army of the indolent and lazy.

Iran will destroy Israel and Russia and China will start expanding their power and influence again throughout the Third World. And the "Messiah" eventually will be able to write another book about how he failed to bring peace and prosperity to the world because nobody would listen to him.

And the liberals will whine, "Our intentions were good. Why not give peace and socialism a chance?"

Never Any Doubt
The 2001 comments from Obama plus the Joe-the-Plumber remarks were comparable. Don't the people who make more the $250k listen when he talks his taxation scheme? Don't many Hollywood Obama supporters make more than that? Or is it that they make so much that a heavy tax will not hurt? Or perhaps they think it will not apply to them? There are at least 10 black guys who make more than $250k but 9 will vote for Obama. Is that not being racist? Perhaps it is a socialist value.

We cannot trust the security of this
nation to a man about whom we know so little and who has no experience that even remotely qualifies him for the office.
What we DO know is enough to make anyone who loves this country RUN from him and his radicalism.

No-one who appears to be as smart as he claims to be, can be that naive, therefore he has to have an agenda.

With his associations with people who have PROVEN their hatred for America, he cannot have American traditional values, they want those values de-based and destroyed and he will do just that.

Liberals hate this country, that is a fact, they have spent the last 50 years doing everything in their power to destroy it and now they have their perfect candidate...a smooth talking liar. That he is black is so much the better for them, PC helps them, if you criticise him you're a racist.

He demeans our values, American values I might add, when he talks to his elitist latte drinking friends in SF and the MSM says nothing, we are just rubes to them.

I am sick of these America hating liberal snobs, they hide behind guys like me who spent our lives defending this land all the while denigrating us and our military.

They are cowards who think themselves oh so enlightened, limp-wristed little feather-merchants who wouldn't lift a finger in defense of this land, but would eagerly sell it out to our enemies so their friends would think them progressive and "fair".

Vote these fools in the congress OUT in Nov and elect McCain, an American hero for president for Americans who love America.

Seawolf: You're exactly right!
While in college in DC, my daughter went through an FBI investigation just to get a PART TIME job as a TOUR GUIDE in the Hoover Bldg.

I was getting phone calls from even her elementary school teachers, neighbors, our priest, pretty much everyone we'd ever known, asking if my daughter was okay because the FBI had contacted them about her.

I suspect that they obtained copies of her report cards from first grade on... As I recall, her pediatrician even called to tell me they'd gotten a request from the FBI for medical records.

Her first job out of college was an ENTRY LEVEL job with the DoJ..., and pretty much the same thing. Another background investigation!

HOWEVER, at this point BHO has NOT provided:
* Resume

* Transcripts or papers from Occidental Coll.

* Transcripts or papers from Columbia U.

* Transcripts or papers from Harvard. (Not to mention, BHO appears to be THE ONLY Law Review editor EVER who was NEVER PUBLISHED in LR.)

* Medical records (A one page letter from a dr. is all that was submitted....)

* Birth Cert. (NOTE: Berg'scase has been appealed to the US Supreme Court.)

At this point, Marxist Messiah Obama couldn't even get an entry level job with the DoJ or DoD, or MUCH LESS a job as a freaken' PART TIME TOUR GUIDE with the FBI.

And the intellectually limited liberals are okay with him being POTUS????

All of you
Pay attention. Hooray. We win. You lose. Niow get out of the way and give me your money.

PIED PIPER OR CANDY MAN?

......OBAMA will definetly change America ...you can take that to the bank ...

.....If Obama wins it will be the end of the Republic and the end of the Republican Party ...

.....One of Obama's first acts will be to grant amnesty for 12 million illegals ...this will put millions of new Democrats on the rolls ...enough to give Democrats super majorities in both Houses ...the Republican Party will never see the light of day again ...

.....This is not hyperbole ...the demagraphics have been swinging in the Democrats favor for decades ...ever since FDR and LBJ social programs and Teddy "the swimmer" Kennedy's lax and wide open immigration policies ...

.....It's almost over folks ...I just hope Teddy doesn't live long enough to see the destruction he worked so hard to bring about .....COLOSSUS

Electing Obama
and his leftist illuminati ideals won't just hurt us; it will hurt our children and generations to come by the destruction of the core of our country's foundation. Think very hard at what a vote for Obama will do to our country's future.

typical replies from the trolls.
they never refute but always attack the messenger.

But we will never learn of the many gaps in b hussein's life or learn of all those who influenced him, but alas will see the effects of his leftists influences.

This notion that he was just intellectually curious and it hasn't affected his thinking fails to pass the smell test.

b hussein's own words and ideas about the economy prove he is a fellow traveler and fully embraces socialism. His idea of spreading the wealth through more taxes and payments to the losers is ample proof he hates capitalism and the idea that people can earn and achieve without his guidance is totally outside his understanding

capitalism allows for winners and losers, socialism only makes everyone a loser and a failing govt that solves nothing but makes every situation worse

THINK BEFORE YOU VOTE! SAY NO TO BHO !
VOTE MCCAIN-PALIN !

Obama-constitution has fundamental flaw
So what is Obama going to do if asked to say "I do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will faithfully execute the Office of President of the United States, and will to the best of my Ability, preserve, protect and defend the Constitution of the United States."?

Good new AP poll this morning
More good news this morning. The Gallup tracking poll today has McCain within just 2 points of Barack Obama.

This race is incredibly close, despite what the media says. Obama simply cannot close the deal. He has a hard time breaking past 48 or 49% of the vote.

The American people have grave reservations about this man becoming president.

The National Republican Trust PAC is driving home a simple message through the weekend: Obama cannot be trusted to become our president.

The new ad reminds voters about Obama's long friendship with the Rev. Wright. It is now airing in key swing states.

This ad has been airing in battleground states and it is going to begin running nationally on the major TV networks thanks to the support of loyal Republicans all over the U.S.

He'll make that statement, though it be a flat-out lie (after all, he has much practice at that).

Reply to Jerabaub in Florida
How typical of an Obama supporter to presume that the American public doesn't know what Marxism is! If YOU truly knew what it stands for you wouldn't be voting for Obama.

BO is a a clear and present danger to the American way. Getting the homeless to vote for him and securing his African American base (against their better judgment) is nothing short of master manipulation! He could care less about either of those groups much less the highly touted middle class. The man is all about power and glorifying himself.

He panders to the emotionally, economically and intellectually poor in this nation. But he won't care one whit about them once he's in office.

Combine Obama with that idiot Biden and the reckless, money hungry, power hungry Pelosi, Frank and Reid and you have a recipe for disaster. Hopefully America will weather the storm, but my biggest fear is how this idiot will hand America over to those who wish to destroy us. As Biden said "mark my words, he'll be tested". Well mark MY words, he'll fail that test!

Eldon...
you make a great point...how can someone who believes the Constitution is fundamentally flawed swear to uphold it to the best of his abilities? If that someone is a lawyer, he can go around the Constitution by getting his buddies Reid and Pelosi in Congress to amend the Constitution. Then he will stand up in front of his pillars and tell the American people he has "changed" the very document this country was founded upon and that action was upholding said document to "the best of his ability." After all, we all know Obama knows better than the founders of this country...that's why he dares to say the Constitution is flawed. He plans to "fix" it.

By the way, Tony...
great article as usual!

For Robin @ 14:30
You answered your own question about how bh0 can swear to uphold the US Constitution when he claims it's flawed; he's an "aubergine" ("black" equivalent of "shyster", term stolen from an Eddie Murphy film) for whom honesty is not a standard feature, nor even an option.

No, He is NOT!!!
Please copy this link into your browser and watch the hard-hitting ads. Then share the links and contribute if you can to help stop Obama, Biden, Pelosi, Reid, and the MSM from completely changing everything you love about America.

Tony Tony Tony,
It's sad to see what's left of the conservative elite, with no weapons left, and their worst
Republican candidate since... well... George Bush, reduce their case to simple words intended
work up the base. These desperate arguments, "Marxism", "Righteous" are what keep real dialogue from happening, they diminish the complexity of ideas and discussion to rocks hurled at one another like Jets and Sharks. I expect this fear, scare and hate stuff from the likes of S. Hannity. I thought, though the right likes to pretend that education and thinking are liberal elite maladies, you suffered from them as well. These are difficult and complex times.

So many words; so little said.

Suddenly Clear

After reading Mr. Blankley's article, the rise of a complete unknown, a man with known radical ties, a man who has used threats and intimidation to silence his critics and a man who could very well destroy the fabric that has created the world's greatest nation is clear. He has successfully convinced the ignorant that their failure is someone else’s fault.

The term ignorant is not used to demean but to identify those who have little interest and even less knowledge of the consequences of their political apathy. You can't communicate with them if your message contains statistical reality and detail but they will jump on the "I'm a victim bandwagon" in a heartbeat.

Barack Obama has used his, and I echo Mr. Blankley's words, Marxist tactics to rally the uninformed masses to his cause. At this point, it appears better than even that he will succeed in his bid for the presidency.

What is unclear however is under the repression that will surely follow, will the lethargic informed majority concede or will they finally get in touch with the anger that will be necessary to defeat it?

Nobama Secretly Sensible?
Voting for Nobama is very risky. Nobama was allowed to be the democrat party's candidate because he will do the bidding of the party and ultra leftists like Soros and his ilk if elected; he's a puppet; his meager record proves it. The democrat majority in Congress already have the lowest approval ratings in 50 years, maybe more. A B.O. election will put a lock on legislation, open up Pandora’s box of corruption (lack of check and balance), and ensure a leftist Supreme Court as ultra-liberal judges get nominated.

One of the important values is patriotism, enlightened patriotism as envisioned by our Fore Fathers. As an example: The ABC buffoons asked Sarah Palin if Nobama was less patriotic than McCain after some remarks she had made earlier which seemed to question B.O.’s patriotism. Palin answered in a neutral manner; otherwise she would have been pilloried by the MSM. The truth is that there is no comparison. McCain’s family history alone puts him ankles and above the pretender. With McCain’s honorable service and time as a POW followed by years of more honorable service in the Senate the Nobama pipsqueak doesn’t reach McCain’s little toe.

Then you look at B.O.’s early family life. A mother who must have been more than a little wacko when she marries a Kenyan fresh from his hut and then divorces the guy shortly after B.O.’s birth (the place of birth is in contention) marries some muslim that takes them to Indonesia. Does that sound like a family life conducive to being patriotic? I don’t think so. Nobama’s grandmother apparently took over parental responsibility which sounds like more instability in the pretender’s early life. Then as growing up he apparently gobbled up a lot of socialistic garbage. This set the stage for his college years and liberal left leanings and, later, very questionable associations and interactions cumulating with his political mediocre performance that certainly does not scream patriotism either.

Correction on my 2008/10/29 14:43 post
The actor was Will Smith rather than Eddie Murphy (I oft confuse Will with Wesley Snipes or Eddie due to their acting styles) in "Enemy Of The State" (1998); btw, the film used the Americanese term for aubergine ("eggplant") rather than the "proper English" one which I posted earlier.

Reply to O @ 2008/10/29 22:16
Basically bh0 sounds a lot like the fictitious president (in Larry Burkett's "Illuminati") Mark Hunt--except without Hunt's even minuscule conscience (for which he gets bumped off and replaced by his ultra-ultra-ultra-ultra-radical-leftist termagant VP).

Obama's words and actions
All messianic dictators of the past were identifiable by their words and actions before they came to power. Barack Obama is no different. If he wins, and I still hope that he doesn't, our country will go through a period of bad times such as we endured doing the Roosevelt and Johnson administrations. The great depression and World War II were Roosevelt's legacy. The Viet Nam War and the recession of the late 60s and early 70s were Johnson's legacy. Their respective policies were the same as those of Barack Obama. Guess what's going to happen? Our national ignorance of history and especially the ignorance and complicity of the media will most assuredly produce the same result. Past performance is the best indicator of future performance. Obama's past performance is one of indecision as a state senator and one of "most liberal" as a U.S. Senator. We know what that does. It invites boldness by our enemies and great depressions.

Hang on folks. You asked for it.

Re: Nobama Secretly Sensible?
Once again O, you make no sense:

"he's a puppet; his meager record proves it"

Every politician starts with a meager record. McCain had one once. So I guess all politicians are puppets by your logic.

Even though McCain has a much longer record, he lost my vote when he chose Palin who clearly is not ready to be President. He blew his first major presidental decision and I believe it should and will cost him the election.
