Poll
Was the Copenhagen Global Warming Summit Walk-Out a Win for the U.S.?

Abraham Lincoln said, "You can fool all the people some of the time and some of the people all the time, but you can't fool all the people all the time."

Unfortunately, the future of this country, as well as the fate of the Western world, depends on how many people can be fooled on election day, just a few weeks from now.

Right now, the polls indicate that a whole lot of the people are being fooled a whole lot of the time.

The current financial bailout crisis has propelled Barack Obama back into a substantial lead over John McCain-- which is astonishing in view of which man and which party has had the most to do with bringing on this crisis.

It raises the question: Do facts matter? Or is Obama's rhetoric and the media's spin enough to make facts irrelevant?

Fact Number One: It was liberal Democrats, led by Senator Christopher Dodd and Congressman Barney Frank, who for years-- including the present year-- denied that Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac were taking big risks that could lead to a financial crisis.

It was Senator Dodd, Congressman Frank and other liberal Democrats who for years refused requests from the Bush administration to set up an agency to regulate Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac.

It was liberal Democrats, again led by Dodd and Frank, who for years pushed for Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac to go even further in promoting subprime mortgage loans, which are at the heart of today's financial crisis.

Alan Greenspan warned them four years ago. So did the Chairman of the Council of Economic Advisers to the President. So did Bush's Secretary of the Treasury, five years ago.

Yet, today, what are we hearing? That it was the Bush administration "right-wing ideology" of "de-regulation" that set the stage for the financial crisis. Do facts matter?

We also hear that it is the free market that is to blame. But the facts show that it was the government that pressured financial institutions in general to lend to subprime borrowers, with such things as the Community Reinvestment Act and, later, threats of legal action by then Attorney General Janet Reno if the feds did not like the statistics on who was getting loans and who wasn't.

Is that the free market? Or do facts not matter?

Then there is the question of being against the "greed" of CEOs and for "the people." Franklin Raines made $90 million while he was head of Fannie Mae and mismanaging that institution into crisis.

Who in Congress defended Franklin Raines? Liberal Democrats, including Maxine Waters and the Congressional Black Caucus, at least one of whom referred to the "lynching" of Raines, as if it was racist to hold him to the same standard as white CEOs.

Even after he was deposed as head of Fannie Mae, Franklin Raines was consulted this year by the Obama campaign for his advice on housing!

The Washington Post criticized the McCain campaign for calling Raines an adviser to Obama, even though that fact was reported in the Washington Post itself on July 16th. The technicality and the spin here is that Raines is not officially listed as an adviser. But someone who advises is an adviser, whether or not his name appears on a letterhead.

The tie between Barack Obama and Franklin Raines is not all one-way. Obama has been the second-largest recipient of Fannie Mae's financial contributions, right after Senator Christopher Dodd.

But ties between Obama and Raines? Not if you read the mainstream media.

Facts don't matter much politically if they are not reported.

The media alone are not alone in keeping the facts from the public. Republicans, for reasons unknown, don't seem to know what it is to counter-attack. They deserve to lose.

But the country does not deserve to be put in the hands of a glib and cocky know-it-all, who has accomplished absolutely nothing beyond the advancement of his own career with rhetoric, and who has for years allied himself with a succession of people who have openly expressed their hatred of America.

Nope!
No, facts do not matter.

The American people of my generation were are a fantastic group of smart, well read, self-sacrificing individuals who put their country and fellow citizen ahead of their own interests.

Today, we are a sad, narcissistic group of illiterate, ignorant, shallow wimps.

Just try asking the next stranger on the street a question about their Senator, or the Constitution or the make up of NATO.

The best you’ll get is an update on American Idol.

No wonder George W. Bush was elected twice and McSame will probably win in November.

ObamaCanDoNoWrong
Facts might matter, if anyone other than conservative websites and Fox News had the integrity to inform the public. The MSM has completely ignored Obama's ACORN and ACORN Housing connections. It has also not looked into allegations of illegal and/or foreign campaign contributions. The State of Ohio is committing sanctioned voter fraud right now. Obama is a poison which is being forced down our throats.

Outstanding Column
Unfortunatley, the facts do not matter much anymore. All you need is a slick presentation, and a good catch phrases.

Hope and Change? If Obama gets elected, we'll all be Hoping we have a little Change left in our pockets.

CRA
The act had little or nothing to do with this problem. The Cato Institute says it's irrelevant: http://www.cato.org/pubs/regulation/regv23n3/gunther.pdf

Politicians, Lies and Videotape
Left wing media Democrats and their politician allies long ago deemed that facts don't exist if they don't report them. They knowingly report lies as truth and truth as lies to advance their radical leftist agenda.

Only those who go out of their way to find real news have a hope of learning actual facts.

Facts Matter
Facts do matter ... the economy was in surplus and we were at peace when Bush took office 7 years ago.... now we have a major deficit and we have two wars .... thanks to the Bush administration.

People were fooled into voting for Joe Six Pack Bush... not once....but twice, hopefully these same fools will not vote for McCain and Joe Sixpack Palin....lest we spend more time in the hole.

Bravo Mr. Sowell
I sure wish someone could explain to me why the main steam media is in the tank for "Dear Leader". Is it brainwashing? Have their families been threatened? I don't get it.

Thank you.
What about Biden's performance last night?? I don't think ANYBODY has ever made so many ridiculous totally crazy lies in a single evening since Abraham Lincoln was on TV talking about the Spanish American war in which both he and Joe fought.

Democrats LIE to us to our DOOM!
Democrats, including of course the MSM, FOOL ENOUGH of the PEOPLE, ENOUGH of the TIME.

His domestic policies will ruin us economically.

His foreign policies will get us nuked as soon as Iran has 1 to 2 dozen bombs (launched from freighters on a Christmas morning).

RIP, the United States of America.

LIE LIE LIE
We were NOT left in surplus by Clinton. Sorry. That was a projected surplus based on silly assumptions such as the market continuing to climb at the same rate as 98-99. The Dow would be, what?, 100,000 now? I got a 20 percent raise on time. If that had continued every month......

Exhibit "A" of why Facts dont matter
Dear fellow Townhall members, please see Dierdre's post for an example of the glittering jewel of left psuedo-logic. When did an economy have a deficit? I thought financial statements posted deficits and surpluses? What do I know, Obama is smarter than all of us. We Americans are so stupid, we did vote for Bush twice, since the options at that time were so promising with persons with superior intellect(Gore and Kerry)

No, facts mean nothing
To play on Abraham Lincoln's quote about fooling the people, facts don't matter to the fools in Washington and the media. They have an agenda and nothing, especially facts, will be allowed to interfere.

real con?
You say that CRA could not have caused this. I am no accountant, but lets say you take my area around Minneapolis. The year (98) I bought my home, it cost $102,000. In 2006 it was wort $250,000. If I had pull a 90% loan to value, as many did, and I was put in this house on shaky credit, as many were, and home prices started to go down, what do you get? You get home owners with higer payments on houses not worth the total loan. Banks hold this note as a asset. When the asset value goes down the banks lose money. When the Goverment passes laws like the CRA, and Organizations like ACORN protest, sue, and charge raceism, the banks give the money. The banks then bundle these loans and sell them to investmant banks, and Fanny, and Freddy are the primary buyers of these loans.
Now realcon times this by say 10,000,000 and mabey you can get the picture.
Kirk

Facts?
Thank you, Thomas Sowell. I, too, wondered where all the investigative reporters were hiding! Why are those liberals who berated the people trying to put controls on the loans not being called into congressional hearings? Oh, I see....They ARE the Congress!! Term limits are long overdue, in my opinion.
Keep trying, Mr. Sowell.

That's just it
On one hand it's tempting to say "to hell with the GOP, let 'em fall again like they did in 2006." The only problem is that all of America will suffer untold damage with BO Hussein as President.

There sure are a whole lot of fools in this country who are too deaf, dumb and blind enough to hand over the reigns to this fraud.

Thank you Dr. Sowell for once again stating it so clearly, a 9 year old could understand.

God Save America

Always will be this way
It was always be this way with the media ignoring anything that casts Democrats in a negative light. I really don't think the candidates should complain about it though. They should be trying to coax the media to their side, not alienating them further.

bailout
Neither B Frank nor C Dodd saw anything problematical. Hmmm. Obama did and was on record as doing something about it. I dont know what. I would suggest that since it knew it was a problem, since that fits his agenda today, that he promptly return the dollars he took from this faltering company. I would like to see much noise about this. It is one more of this great moments in the sun. I would bet the farm that he will not repay the company. Sounds to me if he found an unconscious man on the street it would be ok to take his billfold.

RealCon
What do you think happened when people who could suddenly afford starter homes with no/bad credit starting bidding on them? The price of a starter home went up and so people who didn't want to pay the going price on a starter home took the risk of buying a higher price level and so on.

There was a price support wave that went up the chain driving house prices. The driving force was artifcially putting people in the bottom tier. What do you think causes a bubble like the tech bubble or the housing bubble? Money floating into the market that doesn't belong looking for a place to park and artificially jacking up the values and prices which eventually becomes unsustainable. Please refer to Greenspan's comments about Freddie/Fannie.

Just give up your wet dream buddy of blaming Republicans for a social engineering mess. No one here is buying your junk economics. We know what the engine was. We are trying to discuss the more important matter of why the heck the Republicans are letting it slide. Please let the adults talk and go away.

Kirk
CRA only applies to certain institutions, banks and savings & loans where deposits are guaranteed by the federal government. They only wrote a small proportion of subprime loans:

Thanks for the link, sjpatejak
I read the Cato article you supplied the link for. It was a bit of a dry read but very informative and blissfully void of partisan politics. Definitely worth a read and consideration no matter what side of this issue you may fall on. Although I'm not quite sure if I totally agree with your assertion that CRA is "irrelevant", especially in reading about the trouble that smaller banks were running into in respect to the conflict of trying to obtain good CRA and CAMEL ratings.

October 3, 2008 - Dependence Day
Mark this date as October 3, 2008 as “Dependence Day”. There is no longer any point in denying that we are a fundamentally socialist nation. “Everyone agrees” that it is the proper role of the federal government to guarantee delivery of: heath-care, education, housing, transportation, employment, and retirement. It is no longer the government’s role to merely to defend an individual’s right to pursue these things as they freely choose. They are now fundamental “rights” even inalienably so (since in Massachusetts for example you will have heath care even if you don’t want it). The “evils” of the free market have been banished from our society. For it has been decreed that they are the reason for all the ills of society. The free market is to blame for the current financial “crisis”. As in the Wizard of Oz: pay no attention to that “Community Reinvestment Act”, quasi-government mortgage institutions, or government appointed interest rates set by fiat (to stave off normal economic cycles). Socialism has arrived in America.

CRA and CATO
sjpatejak

Simply amazing. Out of all the hundreds of documents at the CATO site, you choose the one only mostly critical of the CRA and it's 1995 rule changes.

Well intentioned or not, the CRA with changes forced banks to become preditory lenders.

Why CRA did cause this mess
Because the FIRST crisis to occur was with the subprime market. There would be NO subprime market without CRA. Months ago we started to hear about the subprime "problem" and we started to hear the first cries of a "bailout". Remember Hilary Clinton talking about "forcing" banks to renegotiate the terms of mortages for people facing forclosure. So, those not in subprime mortages, but still struggling to pay for a home they could not afford in the first place said "hey, why am I struggling to pay, if I let this house get behind I will qualify for the bailout". That bailout never actually came. So, now you have the subprime mess and the barely treading water mess.
I don't know who has been asleep at the wheel the last five years we have heard of the housing "bubble". Everyone knew housing prices could not be sustained in places like CA with people paying $500,000 for two bedroom, one bathroom home. There is NO WAY most people in the state of CA should have been approved for mortgages. No one making less than $300,000 a year should be in a $500,000 home. You had house flippers whose "day job" was a waitress at IHOP getting mortgages on houses. Banks and people were playing the bubble game and it popped.
Like the entire state of CA, this whole mess is probably the fault of CA alone. And if you didn't hear, the governor of CA will be asking for a "bailout" for the state next week.

Reid, Pelosi Crises
This Crises in the banking industry all started with Jimmy Carter in 1977.

Democratic Congress comprised of a veto-proof Senate (61 seats) and a House dominated by a Democratic majority (292 Democrats vs. 143 Republicans).

Democrats thought it was 'discriminatory' for banks to NOT loan money to minorities with little or no collateral, bad credit and limited income to repay loans.

The Clinton administration reformed the CRA by creating the 'President's Community Development Bank' which increased lending, reduced paperwork and guaranteed banking services to residents of the inner cities.

Clinton advisor Paul Begala is famous for observing about executive orders, “Stroke of the pen, law of the land. Kinda cool."

In 2003, the Bush administration attempted to increase oversight and add a new regulatory arm under the auspices of the Department of the Treasury, with particular emphasis on the monitoring of Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac, the largest holders of CRA subprime paper.

Barney Frank declared, “These two entities — Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac — are not facing any kind of financial crisis, the more people exaggerate these problems, the more pressure there is on these companies, the less we will see in terms of affordable housing."

Pelosi’s Democrats have produced the second highest earmark expenditures in history, the lowest congressional approval ratings in history, and a Chairman of the House Ways and Means Committee, Charlie Rangel, who’s being investigated for tax evasion, while refusing — with the Speaker’s full support — to step down.

Cato article
Unfortunately,
the conflict between cra and safety and soundness
may not receive the remedial attention it requires until
the next round of widespread asset quality problems.

Cato article
Maybe you guys should have read to the end of the article...

"Unfortunately, the conflict between cra and safety and soundness may not receive the remedial attention it requires until
the next round of widespread asset quality problems."

Doesn't sound "irrelevant" to me.

Do facts matter?
No.
Not when people are getting their political commentary from the view. Not when Katie Curic treats Palin like a leper and allows Biden to flub who was President in 1929. Not when people believe we have anything close to a "free market". Not when people will vote for "change" and have no idea what that change will be.
When they are laid off of work after the "bailout" fails they will still be blaming Bush.
I am so angry with this country as a whole and if ANY Congressperon gets back to Washington that is up for re-election in November we get what we deserve.
I always wondered how Rome fell, now I get to see a reinactment with my own eyes. Like a building scheduled for demolition we have purposely set of small blasts weakening our structure. All we need in that one big external blasts (terrorist attack anyone) to send this country tumbling to the ground. While everyone will blame it on the big blasts, the destruction will be largely due to the internally set small blasts that weakened us little by little. Those internal blasts that left us "looking" as if we were our old, strong, stable selves - when really we were ready to fall down with the slighest strong breeze. Whomever hits us (Russia, Iran, China, terrorist) I beleive they will be shocked by how quickly and easily we fall. Not even they will know the massive damage done from the inside.

Thinking Humans

Thinking humans use facts, logic and reason to make decisions.

Obama followers use emotion, chants, slogans, leg shivers and involuntary orgasms to make decisions.

The only absolutes Obama followers have are those things they know little if anything about.

Facts to Obama followers are anything that comes out of the mouth of 'THE Obama'.

What to do?
Thank you for your infomative artical. The problem we face is most people who read consevative print already know and are, thanks to real information, clear on how they need to vote. But that probably is not enough to win this election. How do we fight the mass media and expose the entire country to the truth? I truly fear what will become of our country if OB is elected. Why will the Republican party not speak up? Will McCain stand up and realy put country first? If he would speak out he could win this election now!
Mr. Sowell, if you have ANY ideas on what can we can do please tell us now. Thanks.

Facts
Here are some facts that we need everyone to see;

"Shocking Video Unearthed Democrats in their own words Covering up the Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac Scam that caused our Economic Crisis"

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_MGT_cSi7Rs

Do yourself a favor and do a title search on YouTube if copying and pasting the link won't work. For some "unknown reason" YouTube may say the url is bad. I find this interesting because the first video (first link) was temporarily removed from YouTube because of "coryright issues". Yeah right.

Anyways here is an article that is also enlightening;

http://washingtontimes.com/news/2008/oct/03/the-blame-game- 88308347/

"Facts don't matter much politically if they are not reported."

Why don't we try an experiment and see whether "facts matter" or not, as conservatives begin digging up the facts and showing them anywhere and everywhere and see if that will help. Let's do some reporting (just make sure your facts are accurate) of our own.

There is no compassion...
in enticing people who cannot afford a mortgage to borrow money they simply cannot pay back. That is what government meddling did and government is the main cause of this crisis. The government said it's OK to do risky things so everybody from the borrowers to the lenders bought into the deal.

Enticing people to believe that they deserve things or certain things are a right even though they have done nothing to earn the privilege of something like a home that the majority of people have worked very hard and in some cases very long for, is not in any way compassionate.

Anything that requires effort is of greater value and appreciated more because of the personal investment required. Personal effort generates self respect and self respect empowers people to exceed their own expectations.

We no longer teach these values. BHO has convinced many that economic equality is a right. That is very unkind because that is not the reality. It simply amplifies class warfare.

Either he is totally naive or he is the Communist/Marxist he is being accused of being.

Dr. Sowell, that last paragraph
says it all. The dims/msm have tried to paint any criticism (deserved with all the cover-up) as racism and it is anything but. There are millions of conservatives of all colors that would vote for General Powell, Secretary Rice or yourself in a heartbeat. Just as they will vote for the first conservative woman, Sarah Palin, and God willing, she will win. But the msm/dims don't want Americans understanding the difference. Understanding we don't want candidates that associate with communists. We don't want candidates that associate with white haters. That we don't want candidates that associate with un-repentent terrorists. We don't want tax and spend liberals that gut the military and say they support the troops. Pacifists that will lose every argument with powerful dicatators because they will not fight.

Free Market Banks
Back when my parents wanted to buy a home in the 1960s, they were expected to meet certain qualifications. They were considered low-income, but they had excellent credit and long-term jobs. Still, they tried three times and had over a year's salary for both of them in the bank before they were granted a loan for a small "starter" home. The banks simply were not risking their money on people they didn't trust and they figured if you'd had the same job for two or more years and saved a year's worth of salary, you could probably pay the mortgage.

In recent years, you could buy a house with bad credit, a shaky job history, and virtually no savings. Banks seemed eager to get your business.

What changed? The government told banks they couldn't discriminate, that it wasn't about income, it was about race. So banks offered more and more low-qualification loans. Then people stupidly ran up large credit card debt and rolled it into their mortgages. Then they listened to Countrywide and these others who offered ridiculously low interest loans. When the price of fuel soared, people could no longer keep all the balls in the air and mortgages started to default and that rolled back to the banks that offered the loans. However, behind the banks were the government regulators insisting that it was discriminatory to minorities to insist loan applicants had steady incomes, good credit and some savings in the bank.

Question?
Voter A says: I will vote for Obama BECAUSE he is BLACK.

Voter B says: I will vote for McCain BECAUSE he is WHITE.

Which, if either is a racist?

Without truth there is no knowledge
America has lost track with reality because it is in the thrall of the post-modern idea that the 'truth' doesn't exist.

They can hold this thought as the universe spins around them according to the laws of nature. They hold this idea while driving in cars that are built by the use of the knowledge of engineers. Or standing in tall buildings that they should dearly hope are not designed with a post-modern approach to the truth.

Facts matter only if they are used in the cause of the advancement of knowledge and understanding. Knowledge is "justifiable, true, belief." Without truth, there simply is not knowledge.

However, the average American is world renowned for her ignorance of the world around them.

The overall thrust of American culture has been the idea that self-worth is defines individual American's by what they have and not what they know.

The greed in America is by no means confined to Wall Street, in fact most American's do not know how much their future's depend upon that greed and striving. The real greed in America has been shown to be that all American's believe they should have whatever they want, and be given the money to get it.

The Protestant values of hard work, truth, knowledge and faith, that made America have been lost to the greed of the individual and the baseless belief that there is an entitlement to everything and anything. America is the hallmark of ignorance, and The Democratic Party has been hijacked by what are in truth Marxist ideas.

Cheers,

Bloefeld

Explain yourself.

It's all an Illusion, no?

My illusion tells me that I am... Unique, Special, Mystical, Different, Magical, and Omniscient. I am 'The One'.

Everyone shares my illusion, no?

"Facts" hurt my beautiful illusion.

You see, my illusion cannot face Facts. These Facts tell my illusion that he is not so real, not so smart, not so unique. To save me, my illusion 'Blocks' these silly Facts. He just pretends he doesn't see or hear Facts.

And without Facts... my illusion is invincible. He is perfect and eternal, everlasting.

He cannot die... dying is a Fact.

Facts are Lethal.

Correct; Fact don't matter
Thomas,

You are correct facts don't matter to some. If you think about it, the only way one can be a liberal is to ignore the facts.

There was a time when Liberals did not trust Government. They wanted less government interferrence in their lives.

Today's liberals want the govenment overseeing every aspect of our lives from food and drugs, to workplace safety, to housing, retirement, healthcare, education, private property you name it.

They don't care about facts because they have the ability to re-define their own reality. This may be a result of the creative side of their brains working overtime. There is some scientific evidence that indicates radicals on both sides simply lack sufficent number of connections between both hemispheres of the brain. They lack sufficent checks and balances when a though or concept enters the brain. Like many with a brain dis-order, they are unable to understand or accept their own deficency.

They are unable to balance personal responsibility with government responsibilty, or community responsibilty. The constituion, tradition, history, or facts are simply not a factor in their decision making process. Decisions are based more upon feelings and impressions. If Barney Frank appears to be more reasonable and compassionate than Newt Gingrich, then Barney is right and Newt is wrong. Substance and facts do not matter.

BRAVO! BEST ARTICLE OF THE YEAR!
Thomas Sowell hits it out of the park!

This is the article I've been waiting for!

Tiny-a
The content of the article is about FACTS! Do you realize how your post just reinforces the article even more? I doubt it. I doubt you can even see the irony between Mr. Sowell's article and your post that has no facts. Back up your post with facts. Oh that's right - you can't; so all you can do is lie and plagiarize. Your post only proves the point about how liberals ignore facts. Your post also is a shining example of the empty-headedness of liberals. Instead of "Change" and "Hope", your slogan should be more like: "Baaa!" as in mindless sheep.

Donald,

that is about as stupid a comment as has been written here on TH.

We went to war because of the Islamic attacks on September 11, 2001.

That president you so sophmorishly mock has kept any more attacks from occurring on American soil and is responsible for killing thousands of Islamic terrorists in Iraq.

People like you are what make sane adults fear for our children's and America's futures.

Please get a clue and enter into the adult world.

Farmer's Wife
said "We no longer teach these values. BHO has convinced many that economic equality is a right."

NO, over 50% of "the people" were already convinced, and have learned over the last few decades they can vote themselves "largess from the Treasury".

BO just came along at the right time in history, with the right line of B.S.

I do agree with Sowell

that the GOP leadership are dropping the ball in explaining what Democrat leadership, particularly of the Obama, Jr., Barney Frank, Chris Dodd, Harry Reid and Nancy Pelosi means to our future.

If the past is any indication of future behavior, American taxpayers are screwed.

TRUTH!!!!
The TRUTH is PAINFULL for thoese LIVING THE LIE!!! And the ones telling the LIES will about anything cover them for as long as they can!!! And their who around them and know (GOP) fear that they will go down with the ship so they will keep on helping to cover up the LIE!!!

FIRE EVERYONE OF THEOSE SOB'S IN DC AT THE NEXT ELECTION AND HELP SAVE AMERICA!!!

Audacity of Truth
A real hot button for me is people feeling 'entitled'. This is one of the many annoying characteristics of Obama, that I find repulsive. I am not sure when the seed was planted for Obama, but Saul Alinsky watered it and gave it ligtht.
Entitlement breeds the belief "I am above it all, I am Obama, the chosen One". People that feel they are 'entitled' don't realize entitlement doesn't exist. Obama thinks the POTUS is his, and he does't believe he needs qualifications. He has lied, cheated, stollen, no telling what's next.
Cult Obama is leading his people to 'no rules for radicals'.

Obvious racism
Well I think it's pretty obvious that this Dr. Sowell fellow is just another redneck/racist/klansman who hates Obama because he's black! : )

Eddie, I hope it's strategy
I hope that it's the McCain campaign and the RNC "keeping their powder dry" for the last two weeks before the election, when the bad guys won't have time to respond. If we don't see hundreds of 527 and RNC ads in the last week with "Reverend" Wright,Ayers, and Raines then we deserve to lose.

We can't be as stupid and inept as we appear right now, can we? Please, God, No!

Like Sowell said in this article, we deserve to lose if we leave all these bullets in the magazine unfired. I have to believe they are waiting for the right time. Which is about 3 weeks from now.

Hell, WE know all this stuff, you tell me the campaign "gurus" and RNC don't?

Oh Gosh
Are liberals actually trying to say the CRA fix that clinton signed into place didn't affect the housing bubble? There are so many stats and facts that relate that the housing bubble started the exact year Clinton signed that bill. Obviously to liberals, spin is the only thing that matters. Perhaps you should research Obama when he was suing Citibank for not giving out enough minority loans. How did he go about that lawsuit? Thats what the CRA was for. To force banks to make subprime loans. Thanks to that, here we are. Its not even worth trying to defend it liberals. The facts are everywhere online.
