What was the biggest suprise of Election Day?

Some people say that there is no point voting because there is no difference between the two major parties, and the other parties have no chance of winning. However, there is a difference: the Republicans are disappointing and the Democrats are dangerous.

Republican voters have more reason to be bitter than do Democratic voters. The Democrats are in Washington pushing for the kinds of things their supporters want: more spending, more immigration, more liberal judges.

Republicans are also in Washington pushing for more spending and -- in the Senate, at least -- more immigration. But the Republicans have finally stopped nominating liberal judges, after years of putting liberals like David Souter and John Paul Stevens on the Supreme Court.

Differences in judicial nominees may seem like a small difference between the two parties. But federal judges serve for life -- and some are a major disservice for life. Crazy decisions are still being made by federal judges appointed by Bill Clinton, Jimmy Carter and even Lyndon Johnson.

Allowing these kinds of judges to create new "rights" for captured terrorists out of thin air would be an invitation to disaster. Yet more such judges will be appointed by Democrats.

On immigration, at least the Republicans in the House of Representatives had the sense and the guts to stop the Senate Republicans from creating amnesty for illegal immigrants.

Moreover, on immigration as on spending, where the Republicans are bad, the Democrats are worse. Ted Kennedy and company have fought bitterly against building a fence on the border.

As for spending, both of California's Democratic Senators want the federal government to give the taxpayers' money to agricultural producers who lost money because of the recent recall of contaminated spinach that spread sickness and death to people in a number of states.

Maybe financial losses will help get some of these agricultural producers to clean up their act before their produce sickens and kills more people. But liberal Democrats want to throw the taxpayers' money at irresponsible behavior, whether by farmers, foreign aid recipients or people on welfare.

The most that can be said for the current Republicans is that they want to throw away less money than the Democrats. In general, Democrats are the only real reason to vote for Republicans. Continued...

There's more than two choices!
I agree wholeheartedly that leaving the government of our nation to the Democratic party would be a horrible mistake. But I think it's time to stop putting our support behind the G.O.P. The Republican party has become nothing more than a moderate socialist alternative to the Marxist party of Hillary and Dean. The longer we leave them in power, the more out of touch they will become! "The lesser of two evils" is hardly a motivating platform. Believe or not folks, there's more than just Dems and Republicans to choose from! There's the Constitution Party, a party that actually represents the values that our nation was founded on, and that a majority of Americans still hold. All the people in our nation who hold to conservative worldview should quit towing the G.O.P. party line like mindless sheep and throw their support behind a party that actually pays more to their values than just lip service. If that happened, people wouldn't be able to ignore the Constitution party as just another insignificant third party. (There were quite a few "values voters" last election.) Maybe at first we might lose some ground; we wouldn't have the enormous coffers of the G.O.P. at our disposal, for instance. But regardless, it's time for people to stop voting based on electability and start voting based on conscience. If the voters who truly care about life, family, freedom, national security, the economy, and our American heritage voted based on their values instead of political strategy, things might start to change for the better in this country. I don't see that happening under Democratic OR Republican leadership. So it's time for the right to stop supporting the G.O.P. and start supporting a party that represents what we stand for.

A Solution to our Voting Problem
If we all would use the Constrained and Unconstrained analysis of polititions, IN THE
PRIMARY, as outlined in Dr. Sowell's book "A Conflict of Visions" you would have candidates representing YOUR VALUES in the following election.

Your problem is estblishing what your VALUES are...and then finding the politician that will represent your values where ever he or she is sent.

After I establish the Constrained or Unconstrained nature of the politician I ask myself what Jesus would do on the issues facing my vote; my next concern is how will my vote influence my national, state, county and city governments. Then I look at how a posssible vote decision might effect my family; and then how will my vote decision effect me as the bread earner in the family. Now my general election vote is a cake walk!

Democrat or Republican only enters my consideration in the primary.

All the above process must be completed prior to your vote in the primary. The general election is then a cake walk.
