Will the Dems' health care Christmas Present to America be an improvement or detriment to our health care system?

I came into the office the other day, wearing an "Obama 2008" cap, a "Yes We Can" button, a "Team Obama" T-shirt, carrying an "Obama for Change" tote bag filled with Obama bumper stickers, made a stop at the Obama altar in the newsroom, strewed some rose petals, chanted a few hosannas, lit a votive candle and had a sudden thought: Is the news media's love affair with Barack Obama getting out of hand?

John McCain and his campaign staffers have a sneaking suspicion it is. They put out a video with footage of journalists acting gooey about the Democratic candidate, to the strains of "Can't Take My Eyes Off of You." According to the campaign, "The media is in love with Barack Obama." McCain's people say that like it's a bad thing.

If there are some journalists who are taken with Obama, it's not surprising. One of the unfortunate things about the American press corps is that it is made up of people. Many people in other walks of life have been attracted to Obama, moved to vote for Obama, even enthralled by Obama. So you would expect some people wearing press badges to be susceptible to the same kind of reactions.

John McCain didn't always mind this tendency. In 2000, the crushes were all on him. Newsweek gushed about his courage, his candor, his "puckish charm" and his life story -- a saga "so overpowering and, at times, excruciating, that it has needed a fresh kind of human interaction to show that the hero isn't made of marble."

U.S. News and World Report said he "seems too good to be true," "a man of consistency, character and a few rough edges in a world of contradiction, lies and conformity." Cue the Four Seasons!

So, yes, reporters and commentators can sometimes be taken with a presidential candidate. Politicians who make serious runs for president usually have more than the average quota of charm and magnetism. Journalists, like McCain, are not made of marble, so they are not immune to those qualities.

Chris Matthews said of one Obama speech, "I felt this thrill going up my leg," which invited ridicule. But his mistake was an excess of honesty. Obama is by anyone's standard a powerful orator, and powerful orators are good at eliciting emotions. Being affected by a speech, however, is not the same thing as worshipping the speechgiver.

I'm probably not the only journalist in America who shed tears when Ronald Reagan spoke at Omaha Beach on the 40th anniversary of D-Day. I felt a few chills when New York Gov. Mario Cuomo delivered the keynote address at the 1984 Democratic national convention -- which didn't stop me from blasting his message.

You may assume Matthews is a shameless liberal. But the same Matthews was dazzled by the "star power" and masculinity of Republican Fred Thompson, fantasizing about the smell of "English Leather on this guy."

There are some journalists who openly favor Obama. There are also some who openly favor McCain. That's fine, because they are commentators, who are supposed to take sides.

But McCain supporters tend to discount the conservative commentators while assuming that the liberal speak for all journalists. They also assume that reporters, who are supposed to be objective, would rather help their favorite candidate win than do their jobs in a professional way.

Is that plausible? Not really. In 2004, journalists voted overwhelmingly for John Kerry over George W. Bush. Kerry got plenty of unflattering news coverage anyway. I'd bet that in 2000, most media people voted for Al Gore, who thought he got a raw deal from the press.

Obama is getting more congenial coverage, but not because he's ideologically compatible with most scribes. The real reasons are that he vanquished the formidable Hillary Clinton, his race gives him huge historical significance and he has exceptional political talents that even his critics acknowledge.

But those attributes will grow stale. Obama will make mistakes. His flaws will become more noticeable. Presidential campaigns are like baseball seasons: Today's hero is tomorrow's goat.

With three months to go, there will be plenty of chances for McCain to shine and Obama to stumble -- and the news coverage will shift accordingly. By Election Day, Obama may feel like he's been worked over by the Hells Angels.

Who knows? That newsroom altar might even start gathering dust.

We Want UNBIASED Facts
We expect reporters to report the facts, and only the facts. Although we realize everyone is entitled to have opinions, we certainly don't want opinions desguised as "news."

Reporters wanting to express their opinions should do it here in the comment section.

I believe...
...that my expectations of oration, that is, an elaborate discourse delivered in a formal and dignified manner, is at least a tad bit higher than many it seems. Obama a great communicator?
At best he is average. Perhaps we need to raise our standards a bit?

Dear Mr. Chapman,
When you weigh the obvious infatuation of the press with Obama against their claims of objectivity...well, your column stinks.

Bubble Trouble
I’ve heard economists declare that all bubbles eventually burst and that over inflated stocks always come down in price. The big question is how long can the main stream media and the Democrat hot air machine keep the Obama bubble inflated? This is probably just wishful thinking, and I don’t have much of anything to base it on, but the Obama bubble could be about to burst. After all of the favorable press from the fawning media and the over-hyped Obama international tour, Obama has received a bump in the polls. If the bump fades in the coming weeks, it may mean that Obama fatigue is setting in with the public. Time will tell, but we can have hope that things will change and that the Obama bubble will deflate by November. That’s the kind of hope and change that works for me.

http://eternaledge.blogtownhall.com/

Obama's speech in Germany ...
was not a speech. It was a history lesson (for whom?) I learned nothing new from listening to this lecture and I wonder about those who thought they did. Is this what passes for a great orator these days? I hope this will change.

stephano
I understand his tour only gave him a 4 point bump to his sliding numbers. I don't know if the polls were run in all 57 states, though.

Fact is, he should be doing far better than McCain by now considering his sizeable $$$ advantage and massive press entourage with him 24/7.

I hope for the same change as you.

NO WAY,

JFK DID NOT GIVE HIS SPEECH AT THE GATE.

Just as an example of how the press gorifies ObamBam. John F Kennedy never made a speech at the Brandenburg gate, never. He visited there, but he did not speak there.

But have you seen or heard anyone in the media ever correct that statement.

We have visited Berlin multiple times, and spent time visiting the then West Berlin City Hall. Rathaus Schöneberg was the seat of the West Berlin city government during the Cold War and is the location where John F. Kennedy made his famous Ich bin ein Berliner speech.

From the Blog
Obamalot, to the tune of Camelot. Original by Lerner and Lowe

It’s True! It’s True! This Clown has made it clear
The Candidate is perfect, all must cheer!

Obama made a voter swoon, and Oh Dear!
Chris Matthews has a tingling on the spot!
Is there a regal aspect to the show here?
Obamalot?

To criticize Michelle is quite verboten
His minister’s agenda he’s forgot
He brings up race because he is a token
Obamalot!
Bombs a lot! Bombs a lot!
I know he sounds a bit bizarre
But Obamalot! Bombs a lot!
That’s true, though he’s a star.

So listen while he gives another rundown
He’s great, he walks on water don’t you hear?
In short there’s simply not
A candidate so hot
For MSM to fawn upon than dear
Obamalot!

Continued from previous post. Sorry.
Obamalot! Bombs a lot!
It surely gives a voter pause,
‘Cause Obamalot! Bombs a lot!
He Hems and then he Haws!

I know he makes my stomach on the ill-side
By prime time all his campaign ads appear
In short there’s simply not
A candidate so hot
For M.S.M. to fawn upon that dear
Obamalot!

spot on!
great column. i think the perception out there that the media is "in the tank for obama" will ultimately hurt obama in the coming months as the media strive to prove that they are independent and not biased one way or the other. we'll see, but i bet, ultimately, mccain ends up receiving more favorable coverage than obama from the MSM.

Maureen Dowd, Obama's WOODWORD?
cheer Marueen Dowd
she (a democrat) wonders:

Obama's international CASH COWS are ??

Finally a WOODWORD has come out of the woodwork to shine the light on ???

could it be illegal international campaign funds are Obama's cash cow:

MAUREEN with her eyes wide open could be the Biggest star in this election: YOu think someone finally has character, ethics in the MSM

Jealousy of repubs/cons of Obama
is actually what is geting out of hand. the fact that their candidate Sen. McCain is a bland old white man with absolutley no pizazz
cannot be blamed on Sen. Obama. the irony is that if the repubs had someone even closely
with the gifts of Obama to represent their causes, they would be praising him to the high heavens, but that is just it, the repubs/cons DONT have any one of his peer group to challenge him, because the republican party are who they are: old white men and their hags.

lets get something straight on the media. the media are in business to make MONEY. they make money by selling their products and advertisments. The media pretty much ALWAYS goes with the HOT story because it SELLS AND TRANSLATES INTO PROFIT. it has absolutely nothing to do with partisan politics as repubs/cons would have you believe.

what's happening is that obama and his staff are media savvy in how to manipulate the press. apparently sen mccain and his staff are not.
so whose fault is that?

Ho Hum...
What?!! I believe there is a bit of Bill O'Reilly in this writer. Not willing to see the obvious. There is really no comparison between any of his points, whether it's McCain vs. BO or Kerry/Gore vs. BO. The media is over the top ga-ga goo-goo for this fraud and they want to cram it into our senses.

RECKLESS Obama going to go down
to be charitable:

Obama, and his feet kissing media, are reckless, dangerous, incompetent, immature, and on the brink of engaging in criminal conduct?

If the brave Maureen Dowd, finally someone in the media with Questions and some spine wonders who Obama's INTERNATIONAL "cash cows are" she could become Obama's Woodword / Bernstein.

And there could be an earthquake in the MSM and in Obama's political career:

Obama is skating on very thin ice: SOME curious Reporter may begin to ask big questions and will decide to become rich and famous and break away from the panting pack to do some serious damage:

It only takes ONE or Two.

BIG EARS to HEAR WITH ???
I recall

McCain suggested that Obama take a tour of Iraq to SEE::::::::::: HEAR:::::::::::

McCain never directed obama to campaign in europe for the job of WORLD LEADER

or to negotiate and represent the USA

Doc: how does a fraud
defeat the clintons?

raise $52 million to mcains 22 million for the month of july and have $350 million total to mccains $122 million?

attract 250.000 or more spectators in Germany to a speech he gave? (was it me or did i not see a black face in the crowd?)

be the front runner and be favored to defeat mccain basically after coming out of nowhere?

how is this "fraud" doing it?

CLASSIC!
You guys are so uptight with all the media attention focusing on Obama its great to see that 11 of the last 14 blog post on Townhall were about Obama while 1 Was about McCain. ROFL!

Laughable
"In 2004, journalists voted overwhelmingly for John Kerry over George W. Bush. Kerry got plenty of unflattering news coverage anyway."

That assertion is not only laughable, it's a blatant lie.

John Kerry is a known, proven, liar, who has been caught on tape, and by his own recorded words, to be a known proven liar. His lies are so numerous, and so well documented, and proven, that he manages to give politicians a bad name.

Unflattering news coverage? Aside from his monumental gaffe about voting for before he voted against, which was so stupid the media couldn't ignore it (and it made a great visual), the media were so deep up John Kerry's backside that they still can't see daylight four years later.

John Kerry refused to sign the release form to allow his military records to be viewed by the media. Not a single MSM outlet questioned anything he posted on his website. Bush did sign the release and the media poured over every single minute of his service to such an extent that we all know he had a dentist appointment on a Saturday in Alabama.

But to this day, nobody knows why Kerry, who signed up for a 6 year tour in the Navy Reserves in 1966, served until sometime around 1970, and did not resign for another 6 year tour in 1972, but did not get his official honorable discharge until 1978.

Someone correct me if I'm wrong. Has Kerry ever explained that?

Instead, the Swift Boat Veterans are still reviled by the media. Just the other week the media went after Bud Day.

Beyond the pale.

Muiregeo- Strong Anti-Obama Sentiments
Possibly the reason that 11 of the last 14 blog posts were about Obama is that we see him as the biggest detriment to America. We don't wonder if McCain is going to turn America over to a socialist world order or shut down our national defenses. We trust McCain; Obama makes the hairs on the back of our necks stand straight up. We sense danger with Obama, and we have to go with intuition since we know the MSM isn't vetting Obama. The MSM is carrying Obama on their shoulders on his way to inaugeration. America hasn't even voted yet, but the MSM treats him like he is the president already. It's disgusting to see the blatant in-your-face bias for Obama; these reporters cheerleading for Obama have lost all credibility.

Obamamania or Obamadoodoo?
Once upon a time, in a land called Equality and Justice, journalists had guts and convictions. They reported the truth (only) - they uncovered unsavory acts and reported them. As always happens, there were a few who preferred a lucrative career and sold their integrity. And so, over time, others saw that no one seemed to care - or even notice - and so eventually that thin golden thread of morality was shredded and destroyed.
Nobody expects journalists, TV anchors, reporters in the field to be "marble-like" Of course they have preferences. What is objectionable to me, and thousands like me, is the blatant bias favoring BHO. McCain does not have the same charisma or gift for orating; as does BHO, but Sen. McCain has a lifetime of proven loyalty, integrity and courage in face of horror. Sen. McCain's message is worth listening to - it is worth being reported on (without embellishment).
From my point of view, all I ask is equal time in the mainstream media.

Left Angle
McCain doesn't have any Muslim money coming in.
Where is the MSM in questioning the money Obama recieves?
Only 6% of the people contribute money to politics.
And the fraud(obama) is being given very special consideration by these b**t**ds in the media.
How far up your legs do your chills run?

Obama'd be gone w/o media swooning!
Of course the MSN loves it when McCain bashes REPUBLICANS!

However, if the MSM had been the least bit fair, and exposed Rev. Wright at the start, Obama would have been toast months ago.

When liberal bias is so bad that SNL parodies it, it's BAD!

Last time Newsweek's Evan Thomas said bias was worth 15% for Kerry. It's worth DOUBLE that for Obama!

How times have changed
Years ago, the ABC nightly news was co-anchored by Harry Reasoner and Howard K Smith. It was a 30 minute show, consisting mostly of old fashioned news coverage, but the last few minutes was devoted to commentary on the news by one of the anchors. While the commentary was being delivered, there was a graphic on the screen saying "Commentary" to indicate that what the audience was hearing was opinion. In the current election cycle, every MSM news show should feature at the end the voice over "I'm Barak Obama and I approved this message".

THEY CALL THE WIND OBAMA
A Parody of the song, “They Call the Wind Maria”,
from the Copyrighted Alan J. Lerner & Frederick Loewe play,
“Paint Your Wagon”

Obama, Obama, they call the Wind, Obama

Away out Left they’ve got names for
Hope, Change, and Wind, with drama
The Hope’s B S, the Change hard Left
And they call the Wind, Obama

Obama blows the words around
And sends the facts a’flyin’
Obama makes our country sound
Like half the folks are dying

Obama, Obama, they call the Wind, Obama

Before I knew Obama’s name
And heard his wail and whinin’
I loved this land, and it was free
And the sun was mostly shinin’

But then one day Obama came
And promised all for near free
And now the lost, the weak and lost
Would leech my freedoms from me

Obama, Obama, they call the Wind, Obama

We’ve got a brand new name for Hope
And Leftist Changes likewise
He tricks the lost and gullible
With Liberal hype and tall lies

Freedom needs very fragile rights
With Life and Limb they’ve been won
But Barack back into his box
It’s time for him to Move On!

Obama, Obama, they call the Wind, Obama

Obama, Obama! Freedom’s Enemy!

@ everybody

---------------------------
This so called "Liberal media bias" obviously didn't bother McCain in the past. He was adored by media in 2000 and still carries favor with the majority of the media now.

His problem is he is reverted to the typical Republican way to win elections (fear and smear the other guy instead of coming up with your own ideas) and all this negativity WILL backfire on McCain!!

Get a theme for your campaign and stick with it!! This time around most people will not accept "I'm better than the other guy" line of thinking. You can tell who's running McCain's now (Rush and co.) because he has bailed on his promise to run a respectable campaign.

Some good points in Chapman's piece.
In 2000 much of the media did drool over McCain.

So some of the folks who now are so enraged over friendly media coverage of Obama need to get a grip and realize media always has a soft spot in its heart for the maverick, the underdog, the challenger.

It sided with the challenger Obama against the presumed Democrat nominee Hillary Clinton.

And Chris Matthews does get carried away.

I don't think there is any doubt the media favors Obama.

I agree with my conservative friends that media is decidedly liberal in outlook.

But with the internet, and groups specializing in examining a candidate's past positions, quotations, and relationships, the voter will be bombarded with information.

The question is over the integrity and veracity of the information.

Media can swoon all it wants, but at some point the public sees that, and discounts it accordingly.

And I strongly suspect the upcoming presidential debates will include some tough, difficult questions for both candidates.

The News Media and Obama
Don't give the sweet story of how the journalist are just human. The News Media only print the things that they think will make Obama look good and fail to tell the rest of the story, that is why people laugh at them and believe nothing they say or print.

The journalist takes an oath to tell the news how it is, this is the difference between just being human and licking Obama's boots.

Just what do you liberal news media expect to get out of Obama if he were elected; maybe thrown under the bus with the rest of his friends.

At least the moderate news media have balance and give both sides coverage. This is more then the liberal news media does. They jump right in and speak nagitively about McCain and not once say anything or cover anything good he says or does.

You liberal news media stink.

apollo speaks
I hope Mt. Olympus speaks with you as well. I sincerely hope that the dismal approval rating of this democratic controlled congress can help drag him down. I am also blown away that he so openly opposed the war, but somehow he is getting a boost from visiting Iraq and having confirmation that a troop draw down is in the cards. It was not just the media shining on him on that one... maybe some rays from Olympus fell down on him as well. I just hope you are correct and the cornation ceremony of Obama is only a dream sequence and not the real thing come Jan 2009.

Massive Amount of Money
coming into Obama's campaign - that has always been a big question mark for me.
I certainly hope somone finds out what the heck is going on.
I find it hard to believe that college students and voters waiting for the Messiah to give them a hand out are sending in checks (even small ones) on a continuous basis.
This outrageous side show - called a campaign is way out of hand.
I find it so strange - a candidate for POTUS cmapaigning in Europe - that's a first - let's all say "Marxist".

Ya think so?
"I'd bet that in 2000, most media people voted for Al Gore, who thought he got a raw deal from the press."

First, that's a safe bet. I seem to recall that Gore won the impartial arbiters of truth 90-7 or thereabouts. The others presumably voted for Nader, enthralled by his rock-star persona and his emphasis on confiscatory taxation and industrial hemp.

Second, of course Gore thought he got a raw deal. He lost. If the press had done its job, he would've won. Nobody would've been able even to name his opponent. Bernard Shaw's tribute to the "majesty" of Gore's second concession didn't ease the pain. (Shaw was confused. _Majesty_ is the honorific that Gore would've insisted on had he won.) Nor did the talking heads' unanimous conviction that Gore "really won" the election he lost 137 different ways.

No doubt Kerry is still quaffing Alka-Seltzer because talk radio exists, the Internet isn't policed, and some media outlets actually let the Swift Boaters run paid ads.

Usage note: When conservatives complain about bias, they usually mean that they, their opinions, and the issues important to them are systematically misrepresented, denounced, or left out. When leftists complain about bias, they usually mean that somebody inadvertently published a conservative letter to the editor or failed to call Bush 43 a war criminal. They can't tolerate dissent. At all. Ever.

I confess...
I too have been overtaken by infatuations and soaring highs of enthusiasm for some individuals, but then I got out of high school.

Where the media is concerned I find no case for objectivity on their part and have not been able to for decades. I voted with my TV remote and when our newspaper went the same way I ceased to subscribe. Time, U.S. News and their like are just something I see in a dentist's office.

When I began to see and read stories concerning events I had attended and didn't recognize the report as being about that same event, the press lost my confidence. Nothing they are currently doing is going to regain that trust.

The press self-identifies themselves as overwhelmingly democrat. That's fine, but spare me the disingenuous claims to objectivity. That includes you Mr. Chapman, journalists have earned their place on the ten least trusted professions list.

The Bias Is Thick!!
It is sickening to watch the Obamessiah Rock Star Tour, as if I give a damn what the Europeans think. Watching the media, we may as well cancel the election and corronate Obama ruler for life. Don't you think Hillary is seathing now?
Whatever way the MSM is going, I go the other.

Obmamunists, et al
BHO is an platitude-spouting “empty suit” marketing package provided by the MSM. BHO used the term “typical white person” as I recall in describing his grandmother’s rational mental connection between certain individuals and their cultural preponderance towards violent crime. How about “bitter, gun toting bible thumpers”? Please understand that BHO first played the race card by using the “Hating Whitey” wing (i.e., Rev Wright) of the Chicago Progressive Political machine to usher his inevitable entrance onto the national political scene. Any individual w/ half-a-brain knows how inner city “victim group identity” politics work. That included “kissing the ring” of the leader (Bill Ayers) of the “Mad Bomber” wing of said progressive political machine. He than had the temerity & arrogance to remain under the personal influence of a bigot for the following 20 years without a clue that it would come back to haunt him.

But don’t worry, "Hating Whitey" is not only deemed socially acceptable by the "Obama-gasmic" MSM and BHO’s OBAMUNIST minions, but also quite lucrative as a profession- just ask Rev. Wright and other hyphenated-American poverty pimps who cling to the myth of "black liberation theology." If fact, Rev Wright is in the process of writing a book. This is just conjecture but I would guess that the title is "Hating Whitey for Dummies."

Hillary WAS screwed big time!!!
I wouldn't vote for that (rhymes with runt) if she was running for dog catcher. Yet, she was the legitimate DemocRAT front runner. She did more to keep the DNC on track, and Billy Jeff's sorry carcass in the Oval Orifice) than anyone else. She took the hits, endured the scandals and was the biggest shrillest cheerleader the Democrats ever had.

Then George Sorenose decided to appoint a new "messiah" and heave Hillary under the first bus that came along. Make no mistake. Most of the funding for the Democrats comes from the same 27 millionaires every year plus whatever else they can raise from their elitist pals.

You're right -- it's no longer 1992. Nor is it 2000, when McCain earned many of his points with the press by running against other Republicans. It's 2008. McCain is running against a Democrat. Not coincidentally, the _New York Times_ won't publish his equal-time op-ed (because of his infelicitous use of the indicative passive?). The major networks have reassigned their news anchors to the Obama bureau. And the press no longer even pretends to be impartial -- not that its pretense was ever convincing.

you too?
Your article shows that you too are capable of "talking" both sides of an issue, or in this case a candidate, without actually "taking" a side. Instead of the whining hope at the end of your article about people seeing more of the real Obama, why didn't you use your mighty pen to point out some of his serious and major flaws. Or are you too afraid to stand for something.

All Obama all the time
What would you think of a media outlet that talks about Obama constantly and barely mentions or discusses the policies of John McCain. Obama's name is mentioned at least four times as often.

Well that outlet is Townhall.com

LeftAngle
That part scares me the most.

If he's able to topple the Clintons, that means that whoever was pulling their strings is now finished with them and has moved on to bigger and better things.

Kind of reminds me of when the Soviet Union fell. They were no longer needed since thier ideology was now endemic in most parts of the West.

Fools rush in.
Only a fool would more attracted than repelled by a politician's "charm and magnetism."

Chapman is Lucy with the football.
The press always trots out the line that Chapman is selling: “yes, we’re in the tank for [insert latest Democrat] now, but wait a little while and we’ll bash him/her too.” I remember vividly the exact same line being used when Hillary announced her run for the Senate from New York. “Just wait for the tough, macho, ravenous NY media to take her apart….” Never happened, never will. Does anyone remember who she ran against?

Obamunists!!!
That's a new one!!

I have heard all the old ones, but I give you credit for creativity.

Moneyrunner
Good points. Chapman is 'way off the mark. The press _will_ turn on a Democrat, but only to support one farther left. LBJ suffered in comparison with Robert Kennedy and Eugene McCarthy; Carter, with Edward Kennedy. But no significant percentage of journalists will volunteer opinion -- or news -- adverse to any Democrat in any major contest with any Republican. A few might act like journalists briefly, under protest, if scooped by the guerrilla media. In any other circumstances, however, they will serve willingly as the public-relations staff of the Democratic Party.

Obama is the "Messiah"
1) Obama is going to give us global carbon credits

2) Obama is going to give us one of the highest income and captial gains taxes in the US

3) Everyone should speak Spanish under Obama (really better learn Mandarine Chinese - if this stuff is implemented)

4) Hyperinflation will be in full force (2010)

5) Great Depression part 2 (Not deflationary unlike the 1930's, but hyperinflationary - like Wiemar Germany)

There are many reasons that the media should have a crush if they are still in business.

Actually the real media is on the internet, not with these old time fogie networks.

Objective or subjective
When the media is openly supportive of a candidate and their reporting is subjective, they should just wear campaign buttons indicating their favoritism. Then the audience would know that they are not watching objective journalism but subjective commentary.
When I listen to conservative talk radio, I know that the views are biased on the conservative side and are openly stated as such. When I watch other "news" programs, their is no statement of preference.
When a politician speaks to a crowd of 200,000 that was lured by a free concert by a popular band and provided complimentary food and beverage and there is no mention by the press, that is dishonest.
When a politician refuses to visit our soldiers because he can't take advantage of the photo op and the press agrees with his campaign's spin, that is dishonest.
So, make all the excuses you want, the main stream media has lost the integrity it had years ago and has become a tool to be "used better by one campaign or the other".

Money and Media
Where is he getting all the money? George Soros who has enough money to make anything that goes to Obama legal.

Why is the media "in love" with this manipulator?
Because those who adore their liberal "child" are living their lives through him. They are so mindless they might as well be on a reality show. The act of what they are doing has sometimes been called "star humping".

"Just wait 'til after the election."
I don't know what scares me more, the idea of a man without portfolio, without experience and without any credentials (except that he is a three year Senator)getting this close to the White House, who has made his feelings plain, concerning the welfare of our Country early in his candidacy; or the possiblitiy of his being elected and some low-life assassinating him, throwing our Country into chaos such as to make what happened when Martin Luther King was killed, small in comparison.

What has happened to the "Freedom of the Press,"
the truth sayers, those imbued with the ability to tell the truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth, so help them God? All I see is "Obama," "Obama," "Obama." McCain is hardly mentioned in context for his own accomplishments, which are myriad, to those compared to Barak Obama.

If this is what the "Free-Press" really wants, so be it, but wait until after the election, and see how many of them will be willing to eat crow. Example is Dan Rather. He'd rather lose that coveted spot on CBS than to admit that he lied, the same way the Media will be when they find out what they have collectively helped to get voted into the Highest Office of our land.

event promoters
I turned the tube off a few years ago; doing that has really enabled me to catch the media bias in everything they "report" (it's on the radio too) nearly everything of importance has spin attached to it. However with this campaign the MSM has sunk to it's lowest level ever. In fact, in my opinion they should not even label themselves as the press corp anymore. They are (among other things) event promoters. Between this staged European stunt and the NYT I don't know how anyone with a brain could take them seriously as "press". The only thing they are "pressing" for is BHO's election and their "progressive" agenda. They are trying to brainwash US citizens (as well as "World Citizens"!) into believing that anyone who does not buy into it is obsolete and in the minority. America is still a conservative nation. There are alot of us out here in FO country and we still have a voice, and we will NOT be brainwashed.

King Lib & Using the Media
I agree with "Ex-Wyomingite". But what is even more frightening is in the very fact that the media can be used in the first place...especially the way it has been used by candidates since around the time of the coming of the First (Political) Messiah, JFK.

What ever happended to th concept of an antagonist press...antagonistic to government and to corruption? Long gone, I am afraid.

To: The insane Bush-hater-"Impeachbush"
I find it incredible that anyone with an iota of sanity...especially one living in Ohio...would be so blinded by hate that he or she would use a "impeachbush" as a log-on name. Living even in the same state as El Loco Kucinich has made his or her brain go soft. El Loco already bankrupted a city; we don't need him to bankrupt the soul of our nation. Get a life, you nitwit!

impeachbush
I cannot WAIT for the post-election columns that will appear here beginning November 5th.

The ones celebrating Obama's astounding defeat - comparisons to Mondale & McGovern - et al.

I can just imagine the head explosions you and your ilk, such as Left Angle, King Liberal & Hal Donahue, are going to have telling us how the Messiah got screwed.

Will you change your screen name to "impeachmccain"?

"Allowed 9-11 To Happen????
And, just how, pray tell did the "ignorant, incompetent Bush" allow 9-11 to happen? Let's see, he had been in office for how many years, ignoring previous attacks on us around the world, and ignored the offered "hand-over" of Obama...sorry, I kept thinking of Ted Kennedy's intro...Osama Bin Laden by Suda? Oh, wait a minute, that was Clinton, wasn't it? Bush was only in office for about 9 months. My bad. Yeah, you're right. I surrender to your prefect logic. Go for it. Impeach Bush. However, if you do, you should do it based on his willingness to support free-spending RINO's and socialist Democrats reckelss pork barrell give-aways. I might even support your effort.

MSM Ego
The media generally want to be able to tell their grand children (not to mention putting it on their resumes) that they helped elect the first black man to the office of President of the USA.

To conservatives, who merely look at Obama as a sleazy Chicago pol, Obama's race isn't worth mentioning. To the libs and leftists, Obama's race is EVERYTHING and the only thing.

ImpeachBush & Obamamania
Really, as the posters have said, you really need to let go of the past! Let's see the giants calling for his impeachment, Conyers who has spent a career employing his relatives at taxpayers' expense and then covering up their stupidity and comical corruption, again at taxpayers' expense! Then there is Mr Wexler of Florida; but is he really???? He supposedly lives in his mother-in-law's residence; but that is against the RETIREMENT community's rules! Yes, such stalwarts for law and order!

Slick has all the right cosmetics going for him, he is talented, good speaking voice, and wonderful writers! Question: Does he believe in anything??? Can he admit a mistake in judgment? Apparently not, the surge did work and is working; but Slick can't see it and, more importantly, won't admit it! Just what we need a President who is not always right; but absolutely NEVER WRONG! And the clowns want to impeach Bush! And the media, they no longer report the news; now, we are treated to their opinions, not something I do not want or need!

Could anyone be more wrong?
There is a definite media bias in favor of Obama in this election cycle, and anyone with half a brain can see it. When Obama takes his Magical Mystery Tour of southwest Asia and Europe, all three networks send their evening anchors with him...an move ususally reserved for sitting Presidents on really important foreign visits. And that is not any indication of real bias?

I would suggest that Mr. Chapman take a trip to Newsbusters (http://newsbusters.org) and he could see myriad examples of the bias prevalent in both electronic and print media that is so obviously in the tank for Obama that it's no longer funny.

MSM
The lamestream media likes Obama. That means simply that no one should vote for this black supremacist, muslim, marxist clown. This Orwellian coverage of an empty suit, the idea that through force of hard left propaganda we will somehow embrace the lie that is Obama is reminiscent of 1984. Lo, the Ministry of Truth spake and the people bowed and swooned, Obama our savior, our messiah, they cried! Obama waved his hand and the troubles of generations disappeared as though they never existed. Overnight the troubles of the world were resolved, peace was to be found in every corner of the planet, and the lion lay down with the lamb. NOT!

Obama is a first rate moron nominated by third rate morons and as such is revered by the left. The left whose goal is the elimination of freedom and the installation of world socialism. Obama is their guy, the one who through gross incompetence and a room temperature IQ will do enough damage to advance the lefts utopian dream of world-wide enslavement and poverty. The left is not concerned with government, to wit Congress' 9% approval rating. The left are cowboys, the managers of human cattle, that is what we are regarded as. Americans of all people should be rejecting this candidate as the leftist dilletante that he is.

Dying Europe seems to like Obama, the mullahs like Obama, China likes Obama, in fact our enemies and detractors everywhere love him. Any doubts about where the lamestream media's loyalties lie? Luckily the only votes that count are American votes even if the left raises the dead to vote.

McCain sucks but Obama draws a much larger vacuum!

Argument Doesn't Fly
This not-so-subtle "journalists are really fair and objective and they will eventually do the right thing" puff piece is blatantly false. The media have been biased left for decades and continue to move even farther in that direction, all the while shedding any pretense of objectivity. The appearance of Fox News does NOT balance the coverage or disprove the bias. Objectors to this view live so far left they believe such as Castro and Chavez are moderates and the NYT is an imperialist tool of the evil Right.

Reality check, Chapman. Your peers are sadly failing their trust, and you contribute nothing of value by excusing them.

Mr. Chapman, take down this column
"One of the unfortunate things about the American press corps is that it is made up of people."

No, one of the unfortunate things about the American press corps is that it is made up of idiots. Fawning morons. Imbecilic overachievers. People of zero intellect and even less comprehension of the world.

And while I'm at it, just what is the point of this column?

Orator, Bull !
Obama is a newsreader, which is why they love him. Take away the teleprompter and all of them are hopeless, none more so than Obama. of course, there is that little receiver in his ear, but it doesn't work all the time.

Completely missing the point
This article is total spin, a PR piece to shift the issue from media bias to "we are all just individuals too." But to put a "happy face" on Chris Matthews, oh puhleeeze.

The real issue is an enormously powerful organization with the power to not just influence but to shape events by virtue of what they present under the disguise of "the news." Today's media is no longer a journalistic forum, rather an agenda driven political machine with total fealty to the Democratic Party, as evidenced by this complete attempt at obfuscation by Mr. Chapman.

Hooey
Your article is hooey. The MSM has been left leaning for all of my life and I am a geezer. Even, or especially even, Walter. The only difference from my youth and now is that they are blatant about it. The MSM is the new Pravda and unfortunately the citizen sheep still believe it is a professional, honest and real reporting of the news. Commentators are not journalists; they expouse their opinions and journalists are not journalists, they espouse the party line of the DNC, word for word. Let's see..there was the Culture of Corruption. Then there was Gravitas. There were all the vile and vicious words against Bush, he's dim, he took us to war for oil, he didn't win in 2000, he's the king..blah, blah, blah. The MSM anchors had their heads up Obama's behind during the magical mystery tour. As soon as they came back, they (& the rest of the MSM) created new polls to show he had a bump. You would think Obama is the second coming. In fact, he says we are the ones we've been waiting for. The "we" includes but is not limited to Obama himself, Gyorgy Soros and the MSM. Hooey!

Why not Drill BO
BO gets a complete pass on his past assoications, his insane comments about people clinging to guns and religion, his completely wrong forecast of failure and more violence brought about by the surge in Iraq, his wife's obvious hatred of white America, his flip flops on gun control, the death penalty, and telecom eavesdropping.

The only way to drill BO is to go after him as an antidrilling, tree hugger who would rather see this country go down the tubes than to drill one oil well off the coast or in ANWR. This is a pocketbook issue that anyone driving a car in America can relate to. McCain needs to reverse his stand on ANWR and get out ahead on this issue.

BO is has locked into the antidrilling agenda of Pelosi, Reid and the big Al style green libs. If BO thinks he can run against Bush-McCain, McCain needs to run against Pelosi-Reid-BO. The negatives on the Reid-Pelosi congress are probably higher than W's.

Oil fuels the economy of this country. The price of oil of over $120 a barrel is choking economic growth and fueling inflation. Even the messiah BO cannot reverse the law of supply and demand and claim that additional drilling for oil will have no effect on oil's price.

We can't drill our way out of this crisis? If we don't drill we are commiting economic suicide.

Nuclear, solar, wind, research on renewables and drilling! All are essential if we want a robust ecomony.

With the economy headed in the wrong direction we cannot tie one arm behind our backs and not drill where there are known reserves.

Disappearing Comments
I posted a comment over an hour ago and it still has not appeared. Is this a glitch like your disappearing site?

My Objection
Isn't that jounalists have *feelings* it's that they sell it as NEWS. It's not news! They're doing exactly the same thing that Rush Limbaugh does only with a camera...opinion journalism/entertainment...but they call Rush an impostor. It's all pretty much opinion journalism.

The Media was outraged when President Bush let a blogger into a session with the White House press corps. Why? Because the media has an inflated opinion of themselves. Why else would they preempt the *news* the night Tim Russert died and have a half hour eulogy? The main stream media is looking through a very narrow lens, and they're looking mostly at themselves.

They are also guilty of the sin of omission. Why did a tabloid journal break the story of John Edward's affair? The MSM knew about it years ago, but buried it to protect him.

One more thing
The media is completely exposed right now by virtue of the "Cinderella" story they have created around Obama's summer vacation. Watch now for the typical media forums that analyze themselves, acting oh-so-serious and finally pronouncing themselves the epitome of objectivity.

Don't you just love it when the inmates in the asylum right their own reviews.

No stars, Mr. Chapman
You err in an obvious way: In a single paragraph, you describe "journalists" giving their opinions and say it's okay because they are supposed to be commentators.

No, they're not. You are wrong. Journalists are supposed to be unbiased. Commentators on electronic media are the equivalent of editors expressing opinions on the editorial page. Two different animals.

I used to think Obama was an excellent orator (little more, but an excellent orator) -- but that's wrong. All he is is a black motivational speaker. Period. And Americans want to elect a motivational speaker to the presidency. As always, I remain committed to the belief that many American should have their rights to vote revoked.

another omission
Obama stammers A LOT but it's all edited out. Why?

Dear ImpeachBush . . .
. . . Re: Your Post at #70 . . .

You are absolutely right -- there has never been a U.S. President assassinated in Chicago . . .

Hence, I continue to renew my invitation to Mister Obama to visit Dallas . . . or Oklahoma City!!

Barrack don't turn your back on Chris
If Chris Matthews feels a tingling going up his leg when he sees Barrack, here is some advice for Mr. Obama, "Don't turn you back on Chris."

Want to really shaft O'Vomit?
Two changes in voting laws would do it. First make people vote on weekends. Give them TWO days with 24 hours polls so the WORKING people will come out in bigger numbers than the indolent leeches who vote Democrats.

Second you RAISE the voting age not back to 21 but up to 25 so that they have a few years of getting robbed by "compassionate government" under their belts before they cast their first vote.

This has two effects. First you get REAL people voting not freshly hatched skulls full of mush. Second we have too many 18-20 year old college students and graduate students living on their trust funds while Mommy and Daddy shield them from the world. Let them get knocked around by the assassins of liberty known as liberals for a few years BEFORE they vote.

Let them graduate with their 3.8 grades and degrees and watch their jobs being handed out like Halloween treats to underachieving but politically protecting individuals by virtue of set asides and race preferences.

THEN you'll hear shrieking and howling! Even more so when folks go vote right AFTER being raped by the IRS to feed the money machine that buys the Democrats 99% of their votes.

Good grief you are extraordinarily dumb and buy into every single grand conspiracy that comes along.

Get some help for your paranoid delusions.

Obama
is not a great communicator and the media telling us so does not make it so.

The media is so saturating the public with Obama mania that it has the potential to back fire. People are going to get sick, if they haven't already, of seeing him every single minute in the news.

To: WratWrangler . . .
Dear Ray . . . I'm compiling a list of highly intelligent men (whom I respect and admire) as prospective husbands for when (and if) a law is ever passed allowing polygamy -- hopefully SOON because I'm an old geezer, and I can't wait forever! So far, the list includes (1) Burt Prelutsky; (2) VIC in SC; and (3) Retired Geek. Have I your permission to add your name to the list?? I like your style!!!

Townhall infatuated with Obama
This is great!!! Townhall bloggers are crying like babies;

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v620/lpbk2713/cry_baby.jp g

because of all the attention focused on Barak Obama because he is liked by the whole world (as if that's a bad thing) while the rest of the world despises Bush and the republicans in general.

Now of the last 45 Townhall blog post 21 are major pieces on Obama and only 6 are about Grampy McSame.

Republicans new motto should be, "NO WE CAN'T' and Barak Obama should hire McCain as his campaign manager for suggesting a trip to Iraq.

SWEET!!!!.... you guys and your closed little minds deserve every bit of this torture... especially since you're pro-torture.

MINUS FIVE STARS

.....A REAL STINKER CHAPMAN ...

.....The pres is using Obama the same way they used McCain when he ran against Bush and in this years primaries ...the same way they used the Clintons when they had the White House ...

.....How fast did the press turn on Hillary and abandoned her to jump on the Obama bandwagon? ...how fast have they thrown McCain under the bus? ...and they will do the same to Obama when he no longer serves their purpose ...

.....The truth is that the press are for the most part Liberal/Socialists and they do not want to report the news ...they want to manipulate it ...they want a Democrat in the White House and that is the bottom line .....COLOSSUS

Then add the Nuge!!
If you like us you'll LOVE the Nuge!!!!

The Goat herder's son...
Obama frequently brags about his goat-herding dead-beat dad from Africa - you know the guy who knocked-up Obama's mom, while he was still married to a woman in Africa, then dumped his mom and went back to Africa to finish his life off - apparently as a drunk. Well Obama often mentions his goat-herding father as if his father's lowly job as a goat-herder somehow qualifies him to be POTUS. I say Naaaaaaa! Naaaaaaa! Vote against the mainstream media, MoveOn.org, and George Soros... Vote FOR John McCain. His dad was an admiral in the Navy, and John was a Vietnam POW and war hero. What has Obama given to this country except HOT AIR. He may in fact be the single biggest source of global warming! Every time Obama opens his mouth another polar bear dies in the arctic.

WratWrangler . . .
Dear Ray . . . RE: your Post at #91 . . . was that a "Yes, you can add my name to the list"??

Ah, "The Nudge" . . . thanks for the heads-up about him

Also, I belatedly realized that I omitted SeaWolf's name from the list . . . so, my apologies to him!

the bottom line for repubs/cons on obama
"if you dont like obama, then dont vote for him."

it's that simple really. you guys have one vote just like everybody else. so exercise your right and vote for his opponent, Sen. McCain.

but therein lies the problem, repubs/cons cant convince obamas supporters to see him in the same vile/hateful light as they do and they envy the fact they dont have anyone remotely like him. but that's cool.the contrast between the young obama and the ancient mccain couldnt
be more distinct.

obama is getting great press coverage? I'd say thats because his staff is doing a great job of
maipulating the press and mcain's staff isnt.
the press goes with the HOT story and right now
obama IS the hot story..he' selling newspapers, magazines and advertising. that's why the press is covering him as they are. His story traslates into BIG BUCKS$$$$ FOR MEDIA OWNERS.

it has absolutely nothing to do with partisan politics and bogus "love
affairs"

dont hate the player, hate the game...lol

Wrat on
"THEN you'll hear shrieking and howling! Even more so when folks go vote right AFTER being raped by the IRS to feed the money machine that buys the Democrats 99% of their votes."

If this paragraph means that you propose moving election day to April 16 (or tax day to the day before the election), I'm all for it.

Of course no reform package would be complete without a requirement that all ballots, instructions, and other election materials be made available only in English. That should weed out a few illegals and insta-citizens.

Left Angle

True dat! Good post

What's McCain bitter about?
McCain even didn't know that Chech Republic and Slovakia were countries in Europe. The media covered for him on that. The media, CBS of all sources, covered for McCain on his personal attacks of Obama as well.

Aside from his foreign policy slip ups, what's McCain complaining and attacking the media for? He wants them to carry his name calling attacks and message accusing Obama of being a traitor, and wanting defeat in Iraq? Consider this the media doing a favor for Iraq. 70-80% of the country doesn't want to hear a pompous supremacist going around the country attacking them and accusing them of being unamerican, unpatriotic traitors.

I mean, unless you want to call the election right now, you should be happy the media isn't covering his hate campaign. By all means, if you want Obama to be President, let the dogs run loose. Run a campaign goes around and attacks everyone in America for being traitorous, and then whine about the Media.

It gets a little old after awhile. The average American right now are bracing themselves on how the hell they're not going to freeze to death this winter, and how they're going to pay the food bill next week. So appearently, McCain is angry because he doesn't have a big enough platform to tell the average American that they're unAmerican, unpatriotic traitors. Oh yeah, that's exactly the message he needs the media to carry for him - not just to carry for him, but to kick and scream that it's not being covered enough.

McCain should consider himself fortunate, not just that the media has covered his mistakes, but that he's not asked the tough questions.

Maureen Dowd
B2slim, please wake up. Dowd did not write the article about Obama's money which was emailed around a few weeks back. All you nave to do is Google Maureen Dowd and check her news articles. I checked and that article was not there.

Let's please sue the truth to beat this guy and stop all the lies and innuendo. All that does is give him ammunition to call us right wing conspiracy nuts.

Oh look, two left-wing imbeciles patting each other on back, if you were in the same room you would be sniffing each others rear-ends.

You morons just don't get it do you? You think that because some leftist elite told you what to say and how to think that your crap is somehow original or "intellectual". All of the leftists I have ever run into are pseudo-intellectual, pseudo-human nitwits sporting room teperature IQs. Free-thinkers? Left-wing intellectuals? Sorry, those are mutually exclusive terms when associated with the left.

Of all the people I've met in my life I find leftists the most narrowly focused. Focused on utopian fantasies with no basis in reality. Socialism's history of failure is being played out in Europe now, it destroyed the USSR, is in the process of destroying Venezuela, and is responsible for world-wide poverty. Lets not even mention that leftist ideologies are responsible for the murders of 90-150 million people in the 20th century alone.

For the left... "stupid is as stupid does", that's from one of your own. You guys keep sniffing each other, keep patting each other on the back. Go home to DU or KOS, let the adults handle the thinking.

Won't see this on ABC

This is a note from a warrior in Afganistan about Obambi's recent "tour of doody." Apparently the snubbing of the wounded soldiers in Germany was no fluke.

Hello everyone,
As you know I am not a very political person. I just wanted to pass along that Senator Obama came to Bagram Afghanistan for about an hour on his visit to 'The War Zone'. I wanted to share with you what happened.
He got off the plane and got into a bullet proof vehicle, got to the area to meet with the Major General (2 Star) who is the commander here at Bagram.

As the Soldiers where lined up to shake his hand he blew them off and didn't say a word as he went into the conference room to meet the General. As he finished, the vehicles took him to the ClamShell (pretty much a big top tent that military personnel can play basketball or work out in with weights) so he could take his publicity pictures playing basketball. He again shunned the opportunity to talk to Soldiers to thank them for their service.

So really he was just here to make a showing for the American's back home that he is their candidate for President. I think that if you are going to make an effort to come all the way over here you would thank those that are providing the freedom that they are providing for you.

I swear we got more thanks from the NBA Basketball Players or the Dallas Cowboy Cheerleaders than from one of the Senators, who wants to be the President of the United States. I just don't understand how anyone would want him to be our Commander-and-Chief. It was almost that he was scared to be around those that provide the freedom for him and our great country.

If this is blunt and to the point I am sorry but I wanted you all to know
what kind of caliber of person he really is. What you see in the news is all fake.

Lets get real. Most conservatives can barely stand McCain. That is why virtually every post here on Townhall has been about Obama. Obama Obama Obama. Clearly a lot of poster don't like Obama mostly based upon inaacurate information about his record.

Lets try a test ask the posters to list five things that they like about McCain and three things that they like that he accomplished while in office. (after 25 years that should be easy)

exwyomingite: It is what it is...
just as you and your brethren have concerns of obama's experience, mccains age is definitely a concern for some in the electorate. race us another factor. there are simply some people who cannot bring themselves to vote for a person of color. that is a fact and i wouldnt call it racist or bigoted. I'd call it inherent.

obama european tour was no charade. it was a congressional "fact finding" mission, which members of congress take quite often. he was accompanied by two other senators one i beleive was republican chuck hagel (who i think would be a excellent choice for obama as v.p.) mccain took one not long ago and it didnt draw as much press for whatever reason but that cant be blamed on obama.

what obama and his staff did with this trip is to assuage concerns of the american people on his one weakness..foreign policy and security.
the important thing was the images of obama being welcomed by leaders of other countries and allies in the gwot. the contrast between how he was recieved and how they cant stand repub prez bush coudnt have been more stark.
His trip indeed was a SUCESS and you know it.
it did exactly what it was supposed to do.
you think those images WONT be used in the upcoming general election? GET REAL LOL

As i said before:

"hate the player not the game" and right now obama and his staff are playing the game brilliantly, whether you want to admit it or not.

Arrogance jokes
I can see it coming, in spite of the media's force shield protecting the messiah.

Question: What is Obama's favorite article of clothing?
Answer: his name tag.

Knock knock
Who's there?
Me
Me who?
Me me me me me me....

Far more damaging than trying to respond to the sillyness of changer and hope.

correction:
"hate the game, not the player" lol

Fairness
Americans believe in fairness. The kerfuffle over the obvious press bias towards Democrats (Dems all the time, 24/7 unless it's a hit piece on the Republicans)angers AMericans precisely because they feel it is unfair. The difference between liberal Democrats and most Americans is that the liberals believe the end justify the means. 'Nuff said.

The press and the messiah
In the 30's, in Germany, there arouse a messiah for the German people, his name was Adolph Hitler. In the 30's, just as it is today, the people, with the help of the press, was looking for a messiah. In the 30's, there was Hitler, today, there is St. Barack of Obama. The press idolized Hitler then, as they now idolize St Barack. According to the 30's press, Hitler was man of the moment, as it is today, the today's press consider St Barack as the man of the moment. Hitler got into power not by force, he was elected, fair and square, by the German people. Hitler promised the people the same thing that St Barack is promising us today. When Hitler got into power, he convinced the German people that they needed a dictator. How much you want to bet that when St Barack gets in to power, he will try to convince the people that 4yrs or 8yrs is just not enough time to put the USA in order along with the western world. St Barack has this love affair with the press, Hollywood and all the libs that crawled out of the woodwork. Even Hollywood, ie; Lucas & Spielberg thinks that St Barack is a JEDI KNIGHT. Who can argue with a jedi knight? You will not get the liberal press or any lib organization to say anything against St Barack, until St Barack throws them under the bus, by then it will be too late.

Muigeo Doesn't Understand Trade
Muriego said, "That's ridiculous considering how Republicans have sold out our country to multi-national corporations. Do you understand that Anheuser-Busch is no longer an American Company?"

That's called trade and industry. Capitalism working, people buying and selling. The Republicans didn't sell anything. If anything, Anheuser-Busch decided it was easier to produce and market their product abroad, where regulations and restrictions aren't shoved down their throats by Democrats. Why do you suppose places like Pennsylvania and Michigan have lost so many of their industries? Democrat and environmentalist regulations crippled the industry. Common sense: business will thrive where business is made welcome. Besides, people who own share in this corporation will still get their dividends, probably bigger ones now. Good for them.

exwyomingite: oh really?
first of all the condescending tone of your post is unneccssary. for some reason you think you are smarter than i am and couldnt disagree more. I respect your opinion but puhlezze the lecturing tone is YOUR vanity.

I am well aware of who John Kennedy was and his historical revelanace. I am also well aware of the purpose of "fact finding missions and flyovers" are" but as i said before that is how they are offically classified. these things have a pracatial as well as politica effect and rmainfication. you dont deny that yourself.

Whch is why your frustration with obama puzzles me. if you are such a polically aware animal then you should understand EXACTLY what he is doing how he is doing it and what the reasons for his actions are. the bottom line is the man is attempting to make history, defy the odds and get elected to the potus and thus far from my point of view he and his staff are doing and excellent job. the funny thing about it is you know it too..lol

Obama veep team floats GOP name

Obama picks NEOCON as VP?

Politico- Barack Obama’s vice presidential search team has floated the name of a member of President Bush’s first-term Cabinet, Agriculture Secretary Ann Veneman, as Obama’s running mate.

The search committee, now led by Caroline Kennedy and Eric Holder, raised Veneman’s name — among others — in discussions with members of Congress, said two Democrats familiar with the conversations.

The mention of Veneman’s name surprised Democratic lawmakers. The low-profile Republican was close to food and agriculture industries but clashed with farm-state Democrats and environmentalists during her tenure, which lasted from 2001 to 2004.

But Veneman, 59, has a biography that could be suited to Obama’s unifying message. A Republican raised on a California peach farm, she rose to become the nation’s first female agriculture secretary. In 2002 she was diagnosed with breast cancer, which was treated successfully. Today she serves as executive director of the United Nations children’s agency UNICEF.

The selection of a Republican could bolster Obama’s unifying message, a Capitol Hill Democrat familiar with the discussion said.

“You select a strong independent woman who appeals to Republicans and independents, and so that’s hard to beat,” the Hill source said, explaining the logic of the possible choice. “Choosing someone like [Veneman] doesn’t hurt you with the Democrats. It just doesn’t hurt you. But it helps you with Independents and Republicans.”

LOL
From CNN, a quote by Obama:

""Sen. Barack Obama conceded to reporters that his stint off the American campaign trail may hurt him a bit with voters but felt the trip was vital to giving a “sense of where an Obama administration might take” U.S. foreign policy."

Yeah. American policy formed by nodding, positive, affirmative diktat from Europe.

John F. Kerry thought that message would resonate well with American voters, too. Now, the only time John-Boy will ever get to see inside the White House will be as the rest of us.

As a tourist.

Good question, Left Angle
"how is this "fraud" doing it?"

How IS he doing it? Seems like you've previously conceded he is merely a figurehead or puppet, so doesn't that beg the question... who IS pulling his strings? You would do well to look behind the curtain.

If you believe the man himself is responsible for his own shining image, you can count yourself among those useful idiots that the idealogues you revere attract in droves.

You ARE correct in your continual reference to the scarcity of pro-McCain articles/columns/comments on TH. You seem to believe this proves some major point about the superiority of your position. It does not.

The vast majority of TH columnists as well as its readers and posters do NOT worship the presumptive GOP nominee. He was NOT the first choice for most of us. Many of us disagree with a number of his past and present positions and are willing to say as much. That's what people who think for themselves do.

My vote for McCain will be a vote first and foremost to prevent any further erosion of the Supreme Court. My vote will be in opposition to Pelosi and Reid's destructive energy and tax proposals and the $mega-trillion Progressive Caucus agenda. My vote will be to protest the attempt to remake this nation into a clone of European socialism.

He is an empoty suit Doofus.

Chapman Not Facing Up To Problem
Chapman is not facing up to the serious problem of the media's infatuation with Obama and a worsening of media left wing bias in general. Chapman is kidding himself if he thinks he can put things in perspective by citing to the 2004 race, as if what is going on now has happened before. What is going on now is far worse. The McCain ad is quite effective in pointing to the problem.

My problem
is not that Obama went to Berlin, but that he came back. The Germans had him and let him go. They must have lost their touch.

Liberal Insanity
There are several posters we can count on to take a negative opinion on EVERY post. The same tired old hate-filled liberals. I suppose they just can't help themselves. So pitiful.

They cannot get over the fact that they thought they had 2000 won and G.W. beat them. In 2004,same thing. "Curses, foiled again"!!!It has left such a bitter taste in their mouths, and they can't rid themselves of it.

It really is pitiful to see. Grown-ups acting like children. Hate has consumed them and they just have to share it with us.

After November when the same thing happens again, they won't have to change their posts, just replay the ones here every day. Only the names will have to be changed. The message will remain the same. Poor babies.

Motley Crue writes: "The Germanss had

him and let him go."

You mean like when clinton (pretty much) had Obama.... ooops, I meant Osama, and let him go?

You mean, like that??? :-)

Chapman you are Unique!
I am pleasantly surprise to read this article on TH. I thought TH was just a mouth piece of the gop and had to bash Obama no matter what he does. But this article proves me wrong. Infact your article is very objective. I have been very surprise to hear some of the things coming out from the Radio guys. I do not agree with Obama on social issues but will have to admit that he is a very inspiring leader and smarter than McCain. He has left McCain in the dust, jealous and angry. Its such a dissappointment that all the gop could come up with is McCain.

Most people don't even say Limbaugh, Hannity and Fox news has convered Obama more than any candidate. The gop website has so much about Obama than Mccain and even than any political agenda. Obama is the hottest politician on the planet.

Obama's trip to Europe was more than a home run. He is as Richardson put it: "Once in a life time leader" Wether we like him or not, it is very clear that he is smarter and has shown better judgement than McCain and Bush.

ITS WHAT THEY DON'T SAY THAT COUNTS
So, according to Mr. Chapman, the infatuation of the MSM with Lord Obama is harmless. The breathless, orgasmic coverage of the Oabamapalooza Berlin Tour will subside over the course of the campaign.

In the meantime, the media, in full school girl crush mode, can't be bothered to report the facts, such as:

Obama is the most inexperienced candidate in modern history (How can it be that the boy who would be king was not laughed out of contention when he claimed that his brief schooling in Indonesia was a foreign policy asset?);

Obama is the most liberal member of the Senate. Rated to the left of Ted "Splash" Kennedy, himself;

Far from being a bipartisan uniter, Obama is the most trenchantly partisan person in congress;

Every single foreign policy utterance of Obama's reeks with the stench of appeasement;

Obama and her whiness, Michelle, are reflexively anti-american;

No, the media are so in love with this guy, they'll do anything to cover up the fact that what we have here is am inexperienced, naive, smug, self-centered, solipsistic GIRLY MAN (HE BOWLED A 37 FOR GOD'S SAKE!)

And finally, Mr.Chapman, you know full well, that the only reason McCain got good press was because he was consistently anti-Bush and often anti-Republican.

Mr. Chapman would do well to remember the words of Edward R. Murrow, which were the "quote of the day" in my blog yesterday: "Everyone is a prisoner of his own experience. No one can eliminate prejudices --just recognize them." The MSM -- Mr. Chapman among them -- refuse to recognize their prejudices.

this article
Obama is loved by the press because he spouts the same type of jive talk you would hear from someone slithering aroud a lamp post out on 95th and Dan Ryan on the south side of Chicago. Double talk all day, nothing concrete

Chapman parries concerns over media bias
Hey---no big deal that 100's of media personel follow Obama around Europe and only one reporter shows up to cover McCain landing at an airport----right?

WRONG!!!

70 per cent (seventy per cent!) of the American public thinks the media coverage is biased in Obama's favor. It is sickenly obvious.

American journalists are guilty of journalistic malpractice. If you were in medicine you would have had your licenses revoked years ago.

The Liberal Press
The MSM love the 'man from Chicago' because "For the first time in their adult lives they are proud to be Americans". Haven't we heard that one somewhere before?

The Obama-man is singing their tune. Hillary wasn't far left enough for them. They wanted more. So they kicked her to the curb. She is not just sitting there waiting, though.

I can hardly wait until Denver to see what the Clintons have in store for their enemies. I hope when they get through with Obama, they will have enough left to put some hurt on some in the press.

What I read here
was confirmation in WRITING that the media is so biased that no member can seriously consider themselves a journalist. Thanks for telling us all what we already knew! Usually the saying is "if it bleeds, it leads" - since Obama came on the scene, it is "if it's Obama, it leads!"

How I wish we could see over and over again that tidbit of Hillary asking if Senator Obama needed a pillow - SNL got that one right!

Sorry Mr. Chapman - most of us here know better than to think journalistic standards are being met by today's media.

FOR B.O. TO DO A TOWNHALL FORMAT
WOULD BE SUICIDE. Team Obama's job is a busy one in just keeping up with his moment to moment 'CHANGE' of policy, which does require constant monitoring. Flip-flopping is almost as tiring as stradling both sides of an issue. As we've see, B.O. does a few.

B.O. could only function in a townhall setting if to have lines fed to him, to answer scripted questions, were allowed. A few plants in the audience be a nice touch.

Alas for B.O. it's not allowed and he's wise to avoid townhall formats.

Debates will prove interesting; teleprompters and biased moderators, tingling and jigggling in their pants. Hopefully it won't be Chris Matthews, who gives 'HARDBALL' new meaning.

Ronald Reagan speaking at Omaha Beach on the 40th anniversary of D-Day, where actual historical human valor is attached is one thing. B.O. and his speechwiters fabricating an otherwise non-existent foreign policy is another.

B.O. is vapid, transparent and weak, it's shown from day one and continues to do so. B.O.'s lemmings are forced nearer to the cliff. Where's a bus when you need one?

B.O. will never be POTUS, Americans will keep America free.

GOD BLESS AMERICA!

The one of the main reasons that industries that were in Ohio, Michigan, and PA, were here for so long was because of Steel! Let's face it, that time has past and because of the way unions run America businesses had to find cheaper ways of running their companies. How do you make a profit when you pay benefits, taxes, loans, unemployment, SS tax, etc., and then you have unions constantly telling a business owner what YOU the owner is going to do. Big business got fed up and went overseas and found cheap labor, and since the late 70's, that decline has hurt America. Nobody wants to blame unions at all but the greed that runs them is perilous, and yet you want to blame the Conservatives for business running elsewhere. You might want to try blaming the Democrats for passing Nafta and Cafta, because I don't see any evidence of those acts bringing business into the US, only sending more jobs away. Plus, it opened the door for the US to buy petroleum from Canada and Mexico, where we buy 19 percent and 13 percent of imported oil from those two countries. Quit being Cong. Wexler and use your head, blame unions, changing industry, and a Democratic Congress but our President and the Conservatives are not to blame!!!!

All Three Anchors?
I'm hardly a McCain loyalist. In fact, his VP selection will dictate whether I even vote for him. But, independent studies indicate that Obama is not only receiving far more coverabe, but also much more favorable coverage.

When is the last time all three anchors followed a candidate around the globe?

If memory serves me correctly, this isn't the first totally stupid column Chapman has penned (this month).

Don't take the word of anyone posting on this site. Do a little research. Start by looking at what the Nazis said about themselves. The very name _Nazi_ is short for _Nazionalsozialistiche Deutsche Arbeiterpartei_, or "German National SOCIALIST Workers' Party." Their command economy, attempted eradication of individualism, and so on till you want to throw up, were straight from the Leftist playbook. Hitler was even less Christian than Stalin (a former seminarian).

Paleocon: Thank you. I was just about

Your advice... "Don't take the word of anyone posting on this site." True, if you mean the leftists, that is.

So
"Obama is by anyone's standard a powerful orator, and powerful orators are good at eliciting emotions. "

Powerful? Maybe....but in delivery, not on content. The kind of mushy message they can latch on to -- for what its worth. A feel good, "we are the ones we've been waiting for" stuff. Or his recent "People of Berlin, people of the world, this is our moment. This is our time.” Though I remember he referred to those who cling to guns and religion. It did not sound like it was “their moment”.

As predicted earlier:
I expect to hear an “I’ve seen the mountaintop” speech after his return from world tour. If not I’ll be amazed – unless he’s saving that for the convention speech.

Hard-Ball's tingle will trickle...

How little you remember. The MSM was either neutral about the invasion (they backed the French "Non" in October 2002, and fully supported Hans Blix ineptitude. The NYTs, Wash Post, Chicago Tribune, LA Times all editorialized about giving the 12 year sanctions more time). Niether the AP or Reuters gave Bush any slack, as they reported constantly about Bush's "Rush to War". It got so bad you couldn't tell the differnce between editorialis and raw news.

Hum... that's interesting coming from a guy who's party has as it's base a bunch of people who actually think the Earth is 6,000 years old and are entertained watching race cars go round and round and round and round and round and round and round ...the track.

Hey MSM....
In the words of Joe Friday, "Just the facts, please!"

Steve,
Here's some food for thought.
They liked Huckabee for his words and style, as a gifted speaker -- while calling him a dark horse, and even that was like a promotion. Then there was an ad some claimed had a cross (symbol) in the background. That got coverage. Now look at those pictures of Obama posed with a big cross or even from the pulpit. And what response did they get? What significance did the leg-tingling disciples see in it? Is it only media frolicking to and fro? What they do not say is just as important.

Chris Matthews, Keith Oberslime & CNBC
Off topic a bit, but who would watch those idiots at CNBC. I thought it was a joke when I heard the "tingle running up my leg" story regarding Matthews, but he said it!

Oberslime can't get his "facts" straight and CNBC is all Obama all the time. Are the morons from the Daily Kos the only people who watch CNBC on a daily basis?

Obama needs fashion consultant...
Who advised Snob-bama to wear a skull-cap? I know he wants the Jewish vote, but all that cap does is make his ears look bigger!

Besides any Jew that votes for Obama needs their head examined!

Here's what I want to know
Since Obama finally admitted that the trip overseas wasn't a Congressional Factfinding trip, but a trip funded by his campaign; Is he the one paying for Katie Couric, Charles Gibson, and Brian Williams to be with him? Obama admittedly said it when he didn't go to see wounded soldiers, that it would have been irresponsible for him since his trip was paid for by his campaign. So that tells you that, he owns the major networks simply and they favorably owe him for their bigger profits. But the question is will Obama keep impressing the American people? I see a very unsettling way about him and he is becoming the same Liberal candidate that Kerry was. Once August is in full swing and the nomination is over, the gloves come off. Obama will have to answer to the American people more and more, and not be protected by the media cameras so much. Let the real battle begin when Obama can't deal with a truthful and balanced campaign forum.

1st Amendment and the "Fourth Estate"
We;as Americans first, take for granted the freedom of speech we have. I am concerned about such things as this "Fairness Doctrine" espoused by Nancy Pelosi and a number of Obama comments about what is and isn't off limits to the press. I am concerned about the way Obama misled his own media entourage about secret and private meetings. I am concerned about his changes in itinerary, that left the press corps on a plane to nowhere; and his so called security needs that preclude even one member of the press allowed to know where he is going and who he meeting with. I don't always agree with what I hear and read but I don't support anyone that may attempt to suppress my right to read or hear it.There has always been rivalry in the media but not this bitter pitting of one against the other? Communism,Socialism,Progressivism,Islamism all control their media. Is this the path our media is heading for? Please pay attention before it is to late for all of us.

Liberal Posters
It is so much fun to read these left-wing posters. They get more and more strident. They have one thing going for them that the other side doesn't. Facts don't really matter with them.

Some have evidently just become interested in the political scene when Obama got in the race. They know no history concerning anyone that happened before 2006.

Some of the things they blame Bush for did not happen on his watch, but does that matter to them? Of course not. Their BDS does not allow them to think outside the box. Their box.

Paleocon
How about weekend voting? We're one of few free industrialized nations that doesn't hold elections on weekends. That way there's NO excuse not to vote. In Oz voting is a requirement of citizenship. Apparently they got fed up with all the whining over who got elected. If EVERYBODY votes then you have nobody to blame but yourself.

With two non-working days (much like most Democrat voters) the solid American base could come out. Making Tax Day the first Friday in November and Election Weekend the following two days would be delicious!

Imagine the democrats with their hordes of bused in voters and shut-ins agog when all the small business owners, off-duty cops, firemen and military show up to vote? Throw in the other hard-working conservatives who can't always take time off to vote and the howling will sound like music.

steve's having a laugh...
...at our expense. he's gently ridiculing the idea that the press is any more in love with Obama than McCain, or any candidate the press has ever covered before.

what hogwash! the press has been slobbering over Obama since his Iowa "coronation." if Mr. Chapman truly can't see the fawning obeisance of the MSM to the Obamas, then he hasn't just drunk the kool-aid he's drowned in it.

Chapman are you serious ?
If you think that there is any kind of balance in the press bias for Obama you are delusional.

Another "Vast Right-Wing Conspiracy"
Here's a great super-secret tactic to use in fighting the great threat of socialism in America and Obama as the POTUS: THE TRUTH.

Lots of people aren't political junkies, and they simply don't KNOW the truth about Obama. The media tells them how popular Obama is, how McCain has no juice, and they believe it.

Every day between now and November 4th, we need to reach out to all the members of our families, especially the young adults who might be swept up with all the Obamamania they see with their peers. Talk to your friends, your neighbors, your coworkers, the people on the bus with you (trying to save $$$ on gas), any and everyone you come across. We need people to be as INFORMED as possible by November, and we need to come out in record numbers to be CERTAIN the electoral college fully understands "the will of the people." We can't chance this one folks. This particular election will determine the life of America itself; will what our founders built be destroyed, or will we be able to fight off the home-grown socialists and communists? Like I said, we need record numbers.

HUMORLESS PRIG
HUMORLESS PRIG
The Obama Cult requires a 10-cent IQ max.

"I don't take myself too seriously!" Barack "Barry" Hussain bin O'BoyToy (nee: Obamass) cannot laugh.

I have written before on TH that this guy is a humorless prig. There is not a legitimate laugh or joke about the O'BoomBox. All he is is a case of serious self judgement bordering on mental illness.

Remember me when I wrote; George Washington used to take out his false teeth for a communal laugh, Abraham Lincoln liked racy French girl jokes, Teddy Roosevelt acting and making mug faces, George Bush gusting around with the 20 year olds at the Air Force Academy.

Humor is an indication of healthy mental acuity which Barack "Barry" Hussain bin O'BoomBox (nee: Obamass) "You know, I never take myself too seriously!" lacks Big Time - pathetic.

I have been on a quest for some months now for an intelligent response to this simple question:

Name one - just 1 - redeemable quality relative to Barack "Barry" Hussain bin O'BoomBox (nee: Obama)?

So far I have received "Iraq" from a drug addled middle aged woman from Ca, "he's not Bush" from a college brat from Ohio, and the same response from a supposed retired USAF officer.

So far those displaying an affinity to the O'BoyToy have demonstrated nothing but a two-bit 10-cent IQ. Try to do better!

The Oblahma World Tour Media Event
I wish some of the t-shirt ideas I've seen at Malkin's blog were available for sale. The 'Tour de Farce' with B. Hussein on a kid's bike with training wheels was precious.

Of course, the tour had its low points when the Oblahma man had to actually avoid meeting troops in the War zones - too uncomfortable. Sopme pictures of them giving him the finger might have showed up in the world press.

In a world of terrorists, it's clear Oblahma man is no Batman. In Iraq, he was chagrined to find there was nobody to surrender to. He had planned to meet up with his Iranian counterpart, Ahmadenijan, while he was there and assure him that a B. Hussein administration wouldn't care how many nukes he has; that, in addition, he would send him plenty of 'foreign aid', to do with as he chooses - but his handlers decided that the moment just wasn't right - and the pictures wouldn't enhance his phony image.

Very unfortunate: To celebrate, the mullahs might have even treated him to a thousand person public hanging...now there's a kodak background that would have set off a Oblahma's smirking, smug mug and been still another great T-shirt to commemorate his surrender world tour.

Change What?
If Obama supporters think a Democrat from Chicago is going to change anything they are nutz. He's guilty of something, being associated with the Governor of Illinois, and Rezko. Not to mention his 60's radical mentors.

It's also hard to fight his record of doing pretty much nothing while in Springfield or Washington.

Obama pretty much popped up like a mushroom. Anyone who knows anything about mushrooms, knows it takes something rotten for them to surface. Obama popped to the top very quickly.

To Reilly
And who decides what is a redeemable quality? You? Are you an intelligent and astute, and above all, an impartial judge? Hardly so, to judge from the load of excrement that passes as wit in your neighborhood.

How about this: Obama has a keen knowledge of geography. He knows where Iraq is, and that it does NOT border on Pakistan.
You want another? Obama has a remarkable understanding of what the next step in the Iraq catastrophe should be, and it has to do with a 16-month withdrawal. Not surprisingly, the prime minister of Iraq seems to think the same way, the Bush administartion has stopped calling timetables "treason and surrender", and McCain himself, trying to stay on THIS side of senile dementia, thinks that it "is a pretty good timetable, but it should depend on conditions on the ground". Well, duh! Thank you for the contribution. "We'll go to the beach, unless it rains".

Come back in a couple of days, after Obama talks about the economy, and McCain has the opportunity to put both feet in his mouth. Again. We'll discuss more redeeming qualities then.

Hundreds of indignant cons
ranting, and all of them whining that mass media is playing favors, reporting exclusively on Obama, and in a favorable way.

But you shouldn't blame the media. They are doing the best they can with whaT THEY'VE GOT. It is not their fault that Obama is charismatic. It is not their fault that Obama can find his way around a map of the middle East. It is not their fault that Obama remembers a time when McCain assured everybody that the war with Iraq would be won in a New York moment, and that it would pay for itself with cheap oil (And McCain still hasn't acknowledged how stupidly wrong he was). It is not their fault if two hundred thousand Germans, long hungry for a show of leadership from the only superpower, crowd a square waving American flags.

You should be thankful that mass media paid little attention to McCain. The one glimpse we got from him was devastating: he was driven around in a golf cart by another geezer, Bush Senior, who didn't even pay him much attention. The contrast with Obama was heart braking.
Next week there will be debate on the economy.
Thank god, that's a topic that McCain knows aaaaaaall about.... Can't wait for him to explain the mortgage bubble, and how we should reward financial institutions with even less regulation. Right.

Apologist for the liberal media!
I can't believe Townhall is running this column! Clearly the media is favoring Obama. Though fortunately, as Not WRIGHT for America has argued, it could hurt Obama ultimately.

BTW, check out http://www.notwrightforamerica.com, it's a great point they've made on this, one I had not thought of.

"The LATimes reported that the Center for Media and Public Affairs at George Mason University, where researchers have tracked network news content for two decades, found that ABC, NBC and CBS were tougher on Obama than on Republican John McCain during the first six weeks of the general-election campaign."

Oh yes, for instance they've highlighted the dozens of gaffes Obama has made since last year; or his obvious renegging of his many campaign to Leftists promises months before he's even been elected; or last week in Berlin, when his senior foreign policy advisor kept referring to the Obama Administration. Not one reporter pointed out the obvious fact that Obama hasn't won anything yet.

With the exception of FNC, none of the major media outlets have even paused in thier adulation of Obama. My only warning to the Democrats our Allies, and the American people is: be carefull for what you wish for.

Biased Press!?
There hasn't been an unbiased press in this country in it's entire history. Think Horace Greeley, Edward R. Murrow, Walter Cronkite. All of these famous people were biased, and their reporting showed it. During WWII, much of the press was biased toward the war. Almost all of the press was biased against Viet Nam. Those same press are still in power and anti-conservative.

Yes, it is fair and balanced. It is the one and only channel that gives the conservative view the time of day.

Of course, the BDS afflicted cretins think Fox is biased for the right, because they NEVER hear a positive story anywhere else, and that is how they think and what they want to hear.

Name a show on Fox that is not balanced or back off.

Bottom Line for Repubs/Cons
the bottom line for repubs/cons on obama

His story traslates into BIG BUCKS$$$$ FOR MEDIA OWNERS.

it has absolutely nothing to do with partisan politics and bogus "love
affairs"

dont hate the player, hate the game because thus far obama, his staff, and advisers are
doing a excellent job of doing just that. lol

Bottom line?
If you didn't like Bush, you should not have voted for him. And after you did not vote for him, the left started their propoganda of lies, 1st, they said Bush lied, then they said that they would impeach him. Hate, hate, hate and more hate.

Never was there any proof of lying.

So, why shouldn't Obama be treated the same way that the left treated Bush? It's not about just voting or not voting, so we learned from the left. It is about spreading lies about Obama, propaganda, constant hate and lies. We learned that from the Democrats.

Obama is not
doing a good job of manipulating the press. The press love him. They have alters to him in their offices.

He reflects their Socialist views.

Jon33 answer me this:
How does the press/msm make money?

The press is against McCain?
When I see a front pager detailing McCain's treason for dishonoring his uniform, cheating on his wife and dumping her for the fresh one, a retelling of the Keating cheating and a daily list of his gaffes, then we'll know whom the press goes for...

charlie echo says:
" He's guilty of something, being associated with the Governor of Illinois, and Rezko. Not to mention his 60's radical mentors. "

And what was McCain doing in the 60s? Signing NVA documents admitting his war crimes? During the 70s? Dumping his wife for the drug addled and drug stealing sitz.

During the 80s? Pocketing big dollars from Charles Keating.

During the 90s? Running away from who he really was.

And now - refuting the John McCain of the 90s!

sandcrab says:
"Almost all of the press was biased against Viet Nam."

Nonsense - just as the press regurgitated the spoon fed pentagon lies back to the American people for the Iraq buildup, they did the same during Vietnam. it wasn't until after Nixon that the press even grew a small pair...

You are more than welcome to your revisionist history. It is a fairy tale you have made up to make your BDS viable.

A therapist sometimes helps in a situation such as yours. It may take shock therapy to remove the deepseated hatred of Bush. Several treatments may be recommended.

I advise you to seek help as soon as possible before you go off the deep end permanently. Let me know if I can be of assistance in you.

If Fox is truely "Fair and Balanced" (LMFAO) Then why are they running 8 year old video of McCain? He sure has aged a lot in the last 8 years:

Yep, that's what watching Fox News will do to ya.

He was probably listening to Sean Vannity on the way to the church.

Amazing - He was frustrated because he could not find a job. I thought the recession was all in our heads? So, the republicans have ran the entire country for last 7 years or so and this idiot is blaming liberals for his lot in life.

It is amazing that this Fox propaganda actually works with the feeble minded people.

He should have taken Hannity's advise, you know, pull yourself up by your bootstraps!!

URGENT! Boycott CNN, ABC, CBS, NBC,OPRAH
ESPECIALLY CNN!

Boycott these integral organizations to the Obama campaign.
STOP OBAMA!

If you’re a responsible America-loving person, why let these so-called “news” stations assault your soul with lies?

SPREAD THE WORD! COPY AND PASTE THIS TO ALL YOUR FRIENDS!

Instead watch FOX or better yet watch sports, comedies, nature programs, religious shows, movies, or national geographic shows—ANYTHING but CNN, ABC, CBS, NBC, and OPRAH, especially CNN.

It may be hard at first but after the first few days you’ll see just how easy it is and how much better for your mind and soul once you get away from watching these “PROGRAMS…”

They’re called PROGRAMS for a reason. STOP LETTING THEM PROGRAM YOU!

Yes, I turn to Fox for my news. I like the way they portray McCain using footage from his 2000 campaign. I really like the way they put a (D) by Mark Foley's name. Steve Doocy is a genius in the way he claimed that Obama is a Muslim and such.

I really like the political commentary by Dick Morris who sucks on hooker's toes (eeeewwwww).

But best of all, I like the way they take advantage of their viewers ignorance by continuing to claim that we can drill our way out of our energy situation and that the Iraq war will pay for itself.

Yes, Fox is balanced
"Scott McClellan confirms on Hardball what we've been saying all along: "Fox News Commentators Use The ‘Talking Points’ That The White House Sends Them."

ThinkProgress reports

"On MSNBC’s Hardball last night, host Chris Matthews asked former White House Press Secretary Scott McClellan if he saw “FOX television as a tool” to get the White House’s “message out” while he was in the Bush administration. “Certainly there were commentators and other, pundits at FOX News, that were useful to the White House,” replied McClellan, adding that they were given “talking points.”

Making a distinction between journalists like Brit Hume and commentators like Sean Hannity and Bill O’Reilly, McClellan admitted that “certainly” the White House used Fox News talking heads as “spokespeople” with “a script”:

Ironic
How ironic that the people who claim to love freedom and claim to be patriotic are the same ones who don't want me to watch various news broadcasts and watch the Government Propaganda channel instead

Fox
The use of a supposed "news channel" to propagandize the population is anti-Democratic. When people are treated like mushrooms, kept in the dark and fed manure, they cannot make informed decisions in their own best interests.

From Crooks and Liars
"KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (AP) — Knoxville’s police chief says the man accused of a shooting that killed two people at a Tennessee church targeted the congregation because of its liberal social stance.

Chief Sterling Owen IV said Monday that police found a letter in Jim D. Adkisson’s car. Owen said Adkisson was apparently frustrated over being out of work and had a “stated hatred of the liberal movement.” The church is known for advocating women’s and gay rights and founding an American Civil Liberties Union chapter. Read on…

Adkisson is obviously a very disturbed person, regardless of his political views. We will most likely learn more details in time, but the picture that’s developing is one of a typical, uninformed Fox News, Rush Limbaugh, Michael Wiener-Savage fan — an angry white male who has been brainwashed into thinking that everything wrong in America and around the world is the fault of the evil liberals. As with the church shootings in Colorado last December, the right will find some way to spin this story and turn Adkisson into an anti-Christian liberal whack job and blame it on the liberal media.

In response to the tragic church shootings in Colorado, Family Research Council head Tony Perkins naturally pointed the finger of blame at the “secular media.” The senseless massacre of several deeply religious people by one of their own reflected, he claimed, “hostility that is being fomented in our culture from some in the secular media toward Christians.” Of course, Perkins has it almost exactly backwards. Whether concerning abortion, gay Americans, immigration or judicial appointments, the line connecting the rhetoric of the Republican Party and the mainstream conservative movement to right-wing terror is a very short one. Maybe you and impeachbush could see the same therapist to rid yourselves of the dastardly BDS. You both are afflicted terribly.

You may someday get rid of any opposition to your beloved left-wing media, but at the present, you do not have a monopoly.

I have no doubt, the first thing that goes if the left gets total power is anything that does not advocate the socialist view that you and impeach have. But,thank God,you are not there yet,so live with it!!

Rowly
Why do you keep calling us socialists? Our nation ha become more socialist under Bush. Look at our debt being financed by the Chinese and all of the corporate bailouts!

all you can do is use the tired old BDS crap and throw out the marxist/socialist red herrings.

you just lost the arguement as usual

Charles
I lost nothing. Call it fascist/socialism/Marxism or communism. It is a bit of each. It was at one time capitalism until so many are getting a hand-out ,the rest of us are providing for them.

Have you ever seen me praising GW Bush for his handling of the economy? No. The government is taking more and more private institutions under his watch.

Whatever you want to call it,it is not what we need. No president will right this sinking ship, but one may allow it to sink faster than the other.

impeachbush
Your post is not worth considering, nor are you. You know nothing about me,what I think or what I do. I do know from reading your hate filled posts now for months, you have nothing good to say about anything except Obama,Obama,Obama.
