Poll
Was the Copenhagen Global Warming Summit Walk-Out a Win for the U.S.?

Hillary Rodham Clinton has reason to be a happy camper. Over recent days, for the first time in months, she has moved significantly ahead of Barack Obama in Gallup's national polling. And, defying Milton Friedman's famous dictum that there is no such thing as a free lunch, she's made these gains at no cost.

Clinton has remained quietly on the sidelines, smirking like a Cheshire cat, as Republican commentators have done all her work for her. They've dragged out the tapes of the Rev. Jeremiah Wright and have helped sully what everyone thought was Obama's picture-perfect and Teflon-coated image.

Why, after all, should the New York senator bear the costs of attacking Obama and his controversial pastor, further alienating black voters she so desperately wants back, when Republicans have been more than happy to do this work for her?

As a result, Clinton has picked up ground and the Illinois senator has lost some. And what have Republicans gained by so enthusiastically jumping into the Democratic-primary fray?

Sorry, but I don't buy the calculations about which Democrat will be easier to beat. The brilliant political tacticians have as much insight about what will be nine months from now as they had nine months ago about what we have on the table today.

Sure, Wright's inflammatory sermons, and Obama's longtime association with this man, is important news. But the real story for Republicans is that, for practical considerations, there's no difference between the two left-wing, big-government-loving, morally relativist candidates for the Democratic presidential nomination. This is what Sen. John McCain of Arizona and the Republican Party should be running against, regardless of who it turns out to be.

There's some sense that Obama's relationship with Wright hints at a possible hidden subversive side of his that makes him more dangerous than Clinton.

But there's no reason to have concerns about one and not the other.

Take, for instance, Wright's outrageous accusation that AIDS in the black community is the result of some racial conspiracy.

Last summer, the Democratic presidential candidates debated at Howard University. A black journalist asked for comments about why AIDS is ravaging young black women. Clinton observed, "You know ... if HIV/AIDS were the leading cause of death of white women between the ages of 25 and 34, there would be an outraged outcry in this country."

Or how about Wright's trip with the Rev. Louis Farrakhan to visit Moammar Gadhafi in Libya?

So let's recall Clinton's famous embrace of and kissing Soha Arafat, wife of terrorist Yasser.

Clinton wants to credit her years as first lady as relevant experience to be president. In those years, her husband, then-President Bill Clinton, transformed Arafat from terrorist to statesman, inviting him to the White House and to Camp David to negotiate peace.

The fruits of this folly are pretty clear today. In a recent poll done by the Palestinian Center for Policy and Survey Research, as reported in The New York Times, 84 percent of Palestinians surveyed approved of the recent terror attack in which eight teen-age Israeli rabbinic students were murdered in a Jerusalem seminary.

In my speaking tours at universities around the country, students tell me that they hear from many professors a worldview not much different from what we're hearing on the footage of Wright's sermons.

Can we forget prestigious Columbia University's inviting, and providing a gracious forum for, Iran's maniac president, Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, to speak there (in Clinton's state of New York)?

What should Republicans do?

Offer low- and middle-income working Americans a real conservative alternative to "Hillbama."

Appreciate one point of Obama's Philadelphia speech this week on race and religion. The Jeremiah Wrights of this world do not emerge from nowhere and do not maintain large congregations for no reason.

Tens of millions of low-income Americans open themselves up to the simplemindedness of the left because they hear nothing else. They are lost because they are born and raised, often with one parent, in communities that are lost in a country that is increasingly becoming lost.

Our problem is in our broken families and our broken schools. Not in the ozone layer.

Let's hope that McCain will listen to the millions of conservative Christians around this country who are trying to communicate with him. They need McCain and McCain needs them. And the growing masses of struggling, working Americans need both.

Star - You got it right!
All, it seems, the Republicans want to do is criticize. People want change - conservatives and liberals. Huckabee was the Republican candidate for change, and he was snubbed by the conservative media and establishment. He spoke for the working man and social conservative which is exactly where most Americans are. The biggest mistake the Republicans made was not embracing Huckabee. Now, the bed is made, and they must lie in it. They just better hope they have not alienated social conservatives so much that they stay at home in November or vote for Obama because they are so desperate to change Washington.

NativeAmericaneyes
Except for the fact you are a complete leftist liberal who is sure that George Bush is at fault for all the problems in the U.S. and the world. And the fact that you most likely do not like any idea to the right of Marx, your to comments are great.

Uhm..so?!
NativeAmericaneyes writes: "Our moronic Government gave the Taliban and Al Qaeda training to use the weapons we gave them to fight against Russia in Afghanistan!!", et-cetera, et-cetera, blah, blah, blah...
And the Russians were defeated; then American government gave weapons to Saddam, and Iranians were stopped in their tracks; and then Saddam was defeated. Now American government should give weapons to people fighting Taliban and al Qaeda; and when those are defeated, give weapons to people who will fight those who fought Taliban and al Qaeda, and so on, and so on. If all those people want to fight each other, bully fo them. Give'em guns and watch them fight, while America remains rich and free.
Now, is there anyone America could give weapons to who would start fighting China....

You're a Bright Star :)

You are dead on. Low and middle income Americans hear one message... "Rich White Republicans".

The Democrats can name dozens of Republican CEO's who jumped ship with golden-parachutes worth tens of millions of dollars... While their employees went down in flames.

We have no answer.

Republicans
don't have the nerve, backbone to go to war with the democrats. They are like submissive puppies, that roll over on their backs and piddle on themselves whenever a democrat barks.
The only one in my lifetime that I can remember who had the courage of his convictins was our beloved Renaldo Magnus. The others are no where near statesmen, and are more concerned with their careers, salaries and perks than to jeopardize them by actually fighting the political wars to win. Instead they leave it
up to the Conservative talkers and columnists to carry their water, all we get from them is
fund raisers telling all about those wascally
wabbits, oops, I mean democrats and it will be just awful if they win in election A, B, or C.
And we just have to send them money to keep up the good fight. And I yawn, and look at ads for bridges up for sale in Brooklyn.

The Right is wrong in picking sides
When McCain was criticized for calling himself the true conservative, many in talk talk got so upset, they threatened to vote for Hillary. Since then, have they changed the way they feel about McCain. Who can tell. Talk radio may be more serious then conservatives think they are in supporting Hillary. All we've heard from talk radio and Fox are nothing but support for Hillary by attacking Obama. No wonder Hillary took a well deserved rest. Talk radio and Fox picked up the slack for her. When talk radio and Fox should be campaigning for McCain, their doing Hillary's campaigning for her against Obama. It's true, there's not one person in talk radio and Fox who can guarantee the voters Hillary will easier for McCain to beat. Either way you look at it, talk radio and Fox are doing exactly what they criticized McCain for doing, in reaching across the aisle to the Democrats. Who's the Maverick now. John McCain or talk radio and Fox? The strategy behind the attacks from talk radio and Fox is let Hillary play nice. Talk radio and Fox voluntarily threw themselves under the bus so Hillary could come away smelling like a rose instead of the thorn bush she's known for. Hillary is not the one who has labeled Obama a racist, anti American, Marxist, Manchurian candidate, very angry man, and lacks character and judgment to be President. It was talk radio and Fox, Hillary's supporters.

Native American Eyes
Stop copying and pasting your ignorance to all the articles. It's causing you to appear as if you're typing from a psych ward somewhere.

Star - Good observations. I'm getting tired of the Republicans focusing more on who they think will be harder to beat instead of focusing on sending McCain a message of how to win back the Conservative base.

Parker - Wright is an american threat
and when he is the mentor of a potential presidential candidate - that is the news that ALL americans (not just republicans) should be discussing. Rational americans who love this country, regardless of party affiliation, ought to discuss Wright into November so that nobody will forget what an Obama presidency spells for this country. Obama's speech did not have ANY REDEMING qualities - he gave us a history lesson about race, then proceeded to insult whites, blacks and seniors with his audacity of racism and how we are all racist to some extent. Obama is a bad mistake for not just democrats but americans in general. We will continue to make Wright the news for LOVE OF COUNTRY. And if superdelegates have any love of country in them, they too would not nominate a candidate who is mentored closely by a man who believes this country is an evil empire of the USKKKA and that God should "damn" it. Furthermore, ignoring Wright's influence on Obama when we discuss his candidacy is like ignoring Bill's influence on Hillary's candidacy. If you will use Bill's influence to criticize or praise Hillary, then you should use Wrights influence to criticize or praise Obama. Hillary should be smiling, not just because Obama is loosing his "messianic" perception but because a dangerous person will be stopped from occupying the whitehouse. Every american should be pleased with that prospect. In order for an american to support Obama's presidency - he or she will have to suspend all the reality that surrounds his philosophy and close influencial associates.

NativeAmericaneyes , get this
Obama support has declined by 50% among whites, blacks and hispanics. They are less likely to vote for him. Wright's influence on Obama is scary to RATIONAL americans, no matter what their race. It is not "nothing" when Obama picks this angry racist lunatic for a mentor and then defends him in a public speech. To quote Obama "don't tell me words don't have any power" - and we agree with him. Words do have power, words like "God damn america" and "USKKKA" and of course Obama's great line "typical white people". This man is a mess.

Sarah writes:
“Wright is an american threat and when he is the mentor of a potential presidential candidate - that is the news that ALL americans (not just republicans) should be discussing…”

While I concur with your sentiment, your plea ignores reality. You’re assuming the far left actually love this country and find the Reverend’s comments offensive. On the bright side, I think most reasonable citizens of all persuasions feel as you do. The question is how many clear thinking patriots are willing to vote for Sen. McCain?

Nothing there
The problem is that when the country club Republicans look down in the shower, there is NOTHING there. They can't even grow ONE and run for the hills if an editor at the NY Times points a boney finger at them.

Conservative talk show hosts can't save a party that won't fight back. We have another Bob Dole in McNuts. He is living in the past.

Tea party
You said it better than I. The Republicans are wimpy toast!

The far left
The new progressive far left Democrats don't give a damn for the country. They want some Socialist Nirvana like Cuba. They are nuts, but they have staying power and never give up.

McCain won't admit his own limitations
The only people that are describing McLame as a conservative are leftists and the media types. And this fool, despite everything he's done to p*ss off and annoy conservatives, will believe them. He thinks that just because he's mouthed support for the war, that satisfies the right base.

Instead of shoring up his right with a real conservative candidate, like Bobby Jindahl, who has shown convincingly that conservatism wins, or someone like DeMint, he'll pick another moderate GOP backstabber like himself - or even an out and out liberal like Lieberman.

McLame has an ossified brain - he thinks the country works because of liberals. On the contrary, it still works DESPITE liberals.

While trying to emphasize his strongest issue - national security - during his trip to Iraq, all he managed to do is display his ignorance.

The dhimmis could hand him the best advantages, like Oblahma's trying to do, and he'll still foul it up.

McLame is a disaster waiting to happen - and it will be his own campaign finance bill that will finally do him in.

The media no longer loves him - he used them and they used him. Come the main event, it will savage him - and big money will be powerless to come to his rescue to finance a commercial media counterattack.

It was said that Spitzer's downfall would have been Shakespearian if it had a moral. McLame's will have the moral.

McCain and conservatives
Star, you are right. McCain must reach out to Christian conservatives like myself. I have voted Republican in every election since I could first vote in 1976, except one- In Bob Dole vs. Clinton, I was living overseas, and after watching Dole not even mention abortion at the Republican convention, I decided it wasn't worth the trouble getting an absentee ballot to vote for him. For what it's worth, I think Hillary would be tougher to beat in November, and Republicans who think they are really messing up the Democrats by crossing the aisle to vote for her in the primaries are playing with fire.

Partial Disagreement
Parker wrote: " there's no difference between the two left-wing, big-government-loving, morally relativist candidates for the Democratic presidential nomination." Not so! The unveiling of "Reverend" Wright is an answer to one of the questions about Obama's history, background and thought process - and perhaps the direction he travels. Wright is one step from Islamists, it is who the followers believe in. The Wright sing-song could be interpreted to be the same as the Islamists, follow what I teach or be removed. There is still much unknown about Obama since he has virtually no experience except in winning a couple of elections. As to the other Demo, we have a pretty good understanding as to what she would do -- it takes a village. In that sense, both are for total government. Hillary would make all decisions for you, Obama hopes to put into place all the government mechanisms that will steer you in the direction of what he would decide for you if given the choice. McShame is on the membership list of the Council On Foreign Relations.

It's not Wright
The problem isn't Rev. Wright. It's the appalling ignorance of people that allow someone with these views to prosper. With a semi-literate and aware populace, people like Wright would wither away. The fact that Obama went to an Ivy League school and still sat there listening to the drivel and hate Wright dished out tells us something about the moral vacuity of our education system and the fog-enshrouded intellectual climate.

In an age when scientific progress is being made at a rate like never before, the abject ignorance of the vast majority of the public is growing even faster.

Star is totally right about what is needed. What we don't need is more self-serving and self-important politicians promising ever more government theft from the producers and handouts to non-producers. That fact that so many are falling for this, tells me that there are those who prefer being fell-fed slaves than achieving their potential as self-sufficient and proud human beings.

If this keeps up much longer, we'll reach the point of no return, if we haven't already, and head for despotism that will usher this country and the world into a nightmare of a dark ages. We'll regress to scowering the woods for fuel to heat our tents.

At least the the idiots can stop complaining that it's "all about oil."

Ms. Parker
"This is what Sen. John McCain of Arizona and the Republican Party should be running against, regardless of who it turns out to be."

Patience my dear, patience. There is a time for every purpose under heaven.

my 2 cents
The 'Republican hate machine' and the 'vast right wing conspiracy' have nothing on the democrats when they get to having a foodfight with each other. The worst thing we could do is get involved in it.

So let's enjoy it while it goes on, because it doesn't seem it will stop anytime soon.

And let's keep in mind that white liberal guilt is the gift that keeps on giving.

For a long time I have ben stating the obvious - that white people (white is a color too) long ago lost the monopoly on racism, if indeed we evr had it.

The latest example of this is Rev. (?) Wright, and perhaps his most famous parishioner has some of it.

And Wright looks even less black than bo.

And what does it say about the intelligence of people who will sit and listen to this clown for 20 years and counting?

Ms Parker again
You make a lot of good points, unfortunately, the "simple minded message" of the left is embraced by simple minded people.

Our schools are creating people who don't know the first thing about analyzing a speech or philosophy. They have never been taught to think for themselves or dissect the motives behind political messages. People today cannot tell the difference between rhetoric that plays on the emotions and arguments based in reason and fact. I don't see this as an accident. I think it has been a part of the long term plan of the left for decades. We are reaping the results.

You can't present a balanced and well formulated argument to people who have the attention span of a gnat.

This is the main reason I am against uncontrolled immigration. As bad as it is now, it will only get worse as we flood our population with even more simple minded people, many of whom have been fed the socialist message since birth.

Black America
I am more disturbed about the reactions of Wright's parishiners than I am about the hate mongering idiot (enjoying the freedom of America) is spewing. Salvery in this country was not only horribly wrong but it did end years ago. Blacks were suppressed - I agree, however since th 1960's Blacks have risen in most every field - those who wanted to - did! They, like White Americans and other races had the advantage of school and didn't have to drop out -no one forces you to take drugs. For all races many were not born with a silver spoon and had to work hard to pull themselves out of proverty - ...and then, of course, we have welfare - which many apparently choose rather than rising above the fray (all races).

The problem we have now with our presidential candidates - what do you choose - socialism, marxism, or freedom of a capaltistic society? Hillary is a marxist and has been since University days (do research) Obama obviously does not love America to the degree that he would walk out of a chuch spewing hate. McCain - borders on liberalism - who do you choose? The lesser of three evils? At the rate we are going with the corrupt politicians we currently have in office we are heading for a third world, and socialism. We Americans are already supporting people who cross our borders illegally to the tune of $338 billion dollars a YEAR and we still have open borders! Why isn't the gov't using that many towards many of the ills of our own citizens?

Dems blow
Ray: you can look at it this way: McCain is stepping back, letting these two clowns duke it out and in the process let's them expose each other's extreme shortcomings. Then picks off the "winner" of the democrat race later in the GE...

A Message to Star Parker
Ms Parker, as a black woman, how do like this, which is an absolutely factual account of my experience last week:

I had a phone from a Hispanic friend. She is not a Mexican immigrant but an Argentine physician, a well-educated and intelligent woman in this country for fifteen years. She told me that she had had a frightening experience on a bus where some passengers were, according to her description, dirty, loud, and drunk. She ended this account by saying, "y es por eso que no me gusta Obama (that is why I don't like Obama)".

Every black person in the United States has experienced this kind of prejudice: being judged as part of a group that is shown as having undesirable characteristics. Two or three comments made by Jeremiah Wright over a 36-year pastorate were taken out of context and played non-stop on television for a week with the specific purpose of smearing Barack Obama as a militant black separatist, which is clearly he is not. Townhall has done its part to spread that pernicious myth. I hope that, as a black American, you are proud to be associated with such a malicious initiative.

To jacy
Last week during the flood coverage on TV they showed a small town that was saved by a new $50 million levee. Small towns can't afford $50 million levees; that town had to have had state help to build that levee, which saved life and property from certain devastation.

In your post, you spread the usual right-wing story that government money, intervention, control, subsidy, or assistance is "Marxism" or "Communism". In reality, do you want to live in a country where a small town can be washed into the Mississippi when the high waters come, because that town was too self-sufficient to accept federal money? Or, when Florida is hit by yet another hurricane, its residents are told to take responsibility for themselves and get on with their lives? Do you actually want to see our elderly living in poverty and going without needed medical care because no government program exists to help them? And we won't even get into the billions that our government pours into the business world to keep it afloat---airlines, mortgage industry, tax incentives for outsourcing, Bear Stearns, without which by now our economy would have collapsed. I rather think that if the roof is blown off your house (trailer?) by a tornado, you will be first in line to request government help.

Lilly
If the roof of my house gets blown of, I will do two things.

I will go stay with a relative until the repairs are completed so that I can return home

I will file a claim with my home insurance and use that money to fix it.

If I don't get sufficient funds from my insurance, I will have to tap into my savings.

Responsible people set money aside for emergencies. They do not plan to run around asking for money and depending on everyone else to bail them out.

Why should we have to bail out people who couldn't be bothered to be responsible enough to plan for hard times and emergencies?

Mentally Unstable
Wright is mentally unstable, just as Jim Jones was. His mental condition has affected his followers such as Michelle and bHussein Obama. It not the first time that a crazy person was seen as a great leader. It's the Emperor has no clothes syndrome. The Pied Piper leading his followers into the abyss.

Trolls attack
Lilly and the Indin above illustrate why it is impossible to reason with the loony left - they are colossal jewels of glittering ignorance. I posted this on Carole's article so if you've already been there, you may skip to the next gem.

Of course Obama agrees with Wright, who hasn't said anything different than Howard Dean, Harry Belafonte, Susan Sarandan or scores of other dhimmicrats. The loony left, which Obama is a member in good standing, believes all of these horrible things about their country and can't be dissuaded by facts, truth or reality. Watch which of these sickos celebrates the 4,000 death in Iraq. By their fruits, you shall know them.

The fact that their own liberal policies have created the paternalistic, nanny-state which can only survive by creating more victims has been a scourge to the black community and so like any third world tyrant, they must deflect the blame to others to distract and maintain power.

The real shame is they use the pulpit to puke this bile. We true Christians reject this false teaching and pray for them to see the light. White people who may have retained a little bigotry and racism, now have the excuse they need not to vote for Obama because he has fallen from his transcendent high perch and now wallows in the same brand of race pimping as Sharpton and Jackson.

He will lose not because he's black, but because he is the most liberal candidate for President, EVER...

another strategy
Star, there may be an undermining strategy to their wanting people to vote for hillary.

The dems got like 88% of the black vote in the 2004 presidential election. Obama and hillary will have to continue that to stay ahead. Blacks will most certainly back Obama over Hillary and have shown in this election cycle already. With Obama ahead in most everything from delegates to votes Hillary needs super delegates. The only way she can get those is if she makes it close enough for them to viably turn to her. If she "steals" the nomoination away from Obama there could be a major outcry from the black community which could tear the democratic party apart.

I don't know for sure, but that very well could be a possible strategy for the people like Rush telling people to vote Hillary.

The Real Issues
42% of Amercians believe the economy is the #1 issue, and 18% believe its health care. 21% believe its the war in Iraq. Republicans have nominated a candidate who says he doesn't know much about the economy, and is ignoring health care. At the same time, Americans, who are putting 20% of their tax dollars into defense, have similar social programs to those in other Western Democracy's who are putting less than 5% into defense. As a result, we've had 7 consecutive years of deficits (and it will be the same in 09)which are running 20% or more of our budget, not including the money we're taking from social security to keep the deficits to that 20% figure. The democrats want to increase social spending, and McCain wants to increase defense spending, and all the while, the costs of entitlements are growing faster than tax revenues. Putin and OPEC have created an effective CARTEL that is driving the cost of oil systematically higher - extracting our money while fueling their agendas, the dollar is the weakest it has been in our memory, and we have two parties which are so committed to attracting the hispanic vote, that they refuse to enforce our immigration laws. And, even with a weak dollar, we're running the largest trade deficits in our history, deficits which will only grow if we find someway to strengthen that dollar.

And people want to talk about Wright. This should tell us something about how "unserious" this campaign, and the public and media, are.

We see no serious plans to strengthen the dollar, no plans to reduce our trade deficits, no plans to find the compromises between our desire to have the military that we do, while paying for the social programs a majority of the public demands, and no plans to deal with the costs of energy.

What a sad commentary on the state of this nation. I have no more reason to vote for one party than the other.

Redlac
you forget...its the US who defends those countries who spend 5% on national defense. The social programs not only cost money, but they waste money. National security has had to step up to the challenges terrorism has brought on us.

Redlac
You brought up OPEC. Very nice.

take a look here.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fuel_tax

The oil companies make money sure, but the government makes much more on the taxes, which is why our cost of oil is so high.

lily
"Two or three comments made by Jeremiah Wright over a 36-year pastorate were taken out of context"

now that is laughable!

Redlac
I suggest you check your sources. America spends a smaller percentage og its budget on the military than most other industrialized nations. There are some that spend less but they are in the minority. And where did you pull out that 5 percent figure? Is that the defense budget of Fiji?

An infected baby may be born without signs or symptoms of disease. However, if not treated immediately, the baby may develop serious problems within a few weeks. Untreated babies may become developmentally delayed, have seizures, or die".

Rev. J. "HAMAS" Wright...
...flock of traitors & sympathizers.Yes,it gets worse for the racist & his fool cohort.
Credit to Tom Blumer @ BizzyBlog for breaking this story on Mar.17th & 20th last week.

The United Church of Christ newsletter (The Trumpet) has published the HAMAS manifesto principles in last July 22 issue by Mousa Abu Marzook.

Who is he you ask?

He is the political director of HAMAS & a federal indictee AND fugitive.Marzook is hiding out in Syria from where he helps run & direct HAMAS.

BizzyBlog also mentions in the Mar. 20th post that the church's newletter gave space to another muslim EXTREMIST,one Omad Safi of the falselt-named "Progressive Muslim Union.

So I ask you Dem-o-RATS again, how can you MORONS be so in love with traitors & support them. You stupid, stupid,STUPID fools.

LILLY

.....I think you would agree that Obammy is a slick talker but I'll bet that you didn't know that he was this slick: ...

.....Obammy was sent as a missionary from the Trinity Church to the heart of Africa, hundreds of miles from the nearest white man ...

.....After a year the Chief's daughter gave birth to a partially white baby ...assuming the obvious the Chief had Obammy put in a pot and was about to boil him ...never losing his cool Obammy said, "Chief, look upon yon hillside where hundreds of sheep are grazing all of them white yet one is black". ...

.....The Chief replied, "Okay I'll let you go if you promise not to give me away."

.....Now that's slick .....COLOSSUS

Every black person in the United States has experienced this kind of prejudice: being judged as part of a group that is shown as having undesirable characteristics. Two or three comments made by Jeremiah Wright over a 36-year pastorate were taken out of context and played non-stop on television for a week with the specific purpose of smearing Barack Obama as a militant black separatist, which is clearly he is not. Townhall has done its part to spread that pernicious myth. I hope that, as a black American, you are proud to be associated with such a malicious initiative."

-------

Yes, describing AIDS as the white man's tool of retribution is soooooooo out of context.

Lilly, zip up your dress, please.

Your right Star...
You're right Star in that there is little to no difference in either democratic candidate currently running for president. However, how is it you can reach these people that you identified as: "Tens of millions of low-income Americans open themselves up to the simplemindedness of the left because they hear nothing else. They are lost because they are born and raised, often with one parent, in communities that are lost in a country that is increasingly becoming lost.

Our problem is in our broken families and our broken schools. Not in the ozone layer."

The problem with preaching hate from the pulpit are many, one being it reaches mass numbers of a captive audience. These same "simple-minded" masses evidently cannot, will not, or live in complete denial of the facts. The facts are hatred KILLS. And while the hate-mongering Jeremiah Wrights of the world continue to push it the willing "simple-minded" passes continue lapping it up. As they are doing this they ARE NOT succeeding in life, they are MISERABLE in their existence, and they're young men or killing one another in genocide proportions... Why it is not readily apparent as the nose on one's face is totally perplexing and horrifying? How we going to change that Star?????

Such a Non Issue
This Wright flap is nothing more than a bump. Obama's affiliation has little to do with changing the democrats views. This issue would better have been raised in August or September. Then it might have had an impact.

Conservatives have an odd sense of timing. They are trying to influence a handful of delegates at this point.
A wise old first sargeant once told me to conserve your ammo. You don't know what's coming over the hill.

Conservatives should have listened to that first sargeant.

Out of Context?
Okay jeramiah the bull frog's racist rants were taken out of context. Tell me in what context should I take "G*ddamn America"?

What Republicans should focus on
Wow! I rarely agree with every phrase in a column. Every line and every conclusion was right on. I am afraid that the current Republican nominee does not share such a logical outlook on the political landscape. Thankyou Star

billybob
Could you tell me which church that is specifically? And the actual Trumpet news letter.

Obama
Sorry Star but as a Christian you know you are the company you keep.

Obviously Obama lacks judgment. If he would choose this clown as his minister who will he choose to other important positions?

Quite frankly I find Reverend Wright more honest and refreshing than Obama. At least he doesn't lie about his racism where Obama does.

Just a Note
One of the reasons that "conservative talk show hosts" are exposing Barak Obama's duplicity is that he, not Hillary Clinton, is almost certain to be the Democratic nominee. The media will not focus on Sen. Obama, John McCain will not either. Someone has to pry the lid off what to this point has been a tightly sealed and evidently empty vessel.

@taft:
Everything you ask for is itemized in my post above.
I don't understand your ques.

Which is closer to the truth in America? The Sinclair Lewis view: "When Fascism comes to America, it will be wrapped in a flag and carrying a cross," or the Stalin view: "America is like a healthy body and its resistance is threefold: its patriotism, its morality, and its spiritual life. If we can undermine these three areas, America will collapse from within." Which view is espoused in American schools?

Rev. Wright/Obama/Spiritually problems
Has American has lost its way spiritually and is Rev. Wright is just one sign of that fact. A president who molests a young intern, A senator who drives drunk kills a young woman, A senator does a top tap in a restroom for homosexual hook up, a governor in N.J. admits he is homosexual as he humiliates his wife in public. A congressman from NOLA takes $$ and the FBI find $90,000 in his freezer, THe governor of N.Y. spends $80,000 for prostitution. Add to that the fact that teachers and some religious leaders are having sex with children under thier trust, the list goes on and on. We have to wonder where are the role models. 25 to 40% of teen girls have STDs. 68% of Africian American babies born in the U.S. are to single mothers. 1 in every 30 males from 20 to 34 are in jail, and 1 in every 15 black men are in jail. We have murdered 50 million unborn babies in this country since Roe/Wade. So why is Rev Wright ranting and spounting his anti- american, anti-white racial hate. Obama can not remove himself from it, and Hillary is loving every min of it. What Obama supporters must realize is that he can not win without the vote of white men, and they are runing from him like he is on fire.

Does the GOP Want To Survive?

It's really up to Sen. McCain. If he wants our votes, he has to earn them.

He said he heard us after the last amnesty fight. He heard two things right. We want the border secured and we don't trust them. There apparently was alot he didn't hear.

He hired Juan Hernandez, who represents foreign nationals illegally in our country as his hispanic outreach, instead of reaching out to someone from "You Don't Speak For Me" a group of citizens of hispanic descent who oppose illegal aliens.

He said a couple of weeks ago he would sign McCain/Kennedy if it were put on his desk.

If he wants my vote, there are a couple of things he could do.
1. Publicly dismiss and disavow Juan Hernandez and the Reconquista for which he stands.
2. Apologize for conspiring in secret with La Raza and Ted Kennedy and trying to jam amnesty down our throats.
3. Pledge to veto ANY amnesty bill.
4. Pledge to enforce the laws, including deportation, which is the penalty for illegal aliens.

It's up to Sen. McCain, he can represent the interests of American citizens and uphold the rule of law or he can continue to court the favor of liberals and illegal aliens.

I will not vote for the latter.

No Country For Sheep

The primary responsibility of the U.S. government is to protect the territorial integrity and people of this country. They have completely abdicated this responsibility. Both parties have been complicit in this. We are being told it is not possible to control our borders, enforce our laws, and thereby control our destiny as a nation. Hogwash. We are being sold out by corporations intent on importing workers for jobs that can't be exported with the taxpayers paying the true costs, financial and human. If we act like sheep and don't stop the inundation across our borders, we will lose our country without a bleat.

Gay Basher

NativeAmericaneyes,
Man you need to chill. I remember the 2004 election when Lawrence O'Donnel had so much invested in Kerry. I think they had to put him away for a few months after that election. This is not worth wrecking your health. Chill

You stated McCain pastor is a gay basher ? Most people still believe being gay, man having sexual intercourse with another man is a sin.
God loves the sinner but hates the sin. As far as I know christians still are taught this.

Star
Yes! Focusing on right, Right, not wrong, is a better way to go!

Despite polls, you mark my words. Barack Obama is quickly gaining momentum towards the presidency. Hillary Clinton is no longer even an issue.

John McCain should be practicing his oratory skills. Reading from cue cards is now going to be a distraction [from issues coming up] for Americans to hear.

The Taliban and the Mujahadeen fighters aren't the same people. After the US left, the Mujahdeen warlords started in on each other and were ripping apart what was left of Afghanistan after the Russians were through. The Taliban , before people realized things could get worse, were welcomed.

The Difference, Obama Is An Overt Racist
Obama's membership in a racist church for 23 years makes him a racist. Democrats have said racism is unacceptible. That is... against blacks. Anti-white racism and anti-American ideology is acceptible in the Democratic party and choosing Obama will prove it.

As a semi-last resort we could organize a National Strike like they do in Europe & Japan.

Letters, phone calls & FAXs helped stop that Amnesty bill.
What impact they would have right after an election is open to debate however.

RA
Where did Wright claim that the Black race was better than other races? Why do you think he's a racist?

TIMEOUT!!!! lilly
Who is it that continues to divide us into groups and claims that groups have rights? That is liberals, not conservatives or libertarians.

Who is it that inflames hatred between these groups from the political angle by favoring one group over the other at the direct expense of individual rights and liberties? That is you liberals.

Who is it that tolerates and facilitates the culture that produces these young black thugs and gang bangers? It is blacks and in particular their liberal leaders who blame whites for all their problems.

Whose moral decay is resulting in 70% illegitimacy and all of the community destroying problems that come with it? That is the black community itself in fulfilling the leftist ideals of freedom without responsibility fomented by liberal social scientists of the 60's and 70's.

Wright only made 2 or 3 comments? I've seen more than that on TV and no one on his side is saying those aren't accurate reflections of his worldview.

I've only made a few condemnations of abortion rights advocates from my pulpit this year... yet liberals would be offended and fearful that people like me are inciting violence. In fact, the recent hate crimes legislation would very much introduce culpability if someone acted on one of my sermon pronouncing abortion murder by attacking abortionists.

I know that the proposition that "America deserved 9/11" or "White America hates and is systematically destroying black America" really isn't all that objectionable to a liberal like you... but to those of us being so grotesquely lied about... it is quite offensive.

@Taft:

I'd suggest some of you should check your facts before commenting, not after.

So, let's talk about Europeon Defense Spending. The two largest are the UK and France. The UK's 08 defense budget was 31 B lbs on outlays of 587 B lbs, and Frances in 07 was 47.7 b euros, on total expenditures of 909 B euros. The UK's defense budget was 5.28% of expenditures, and Frances was 7.8%.

Now, consider this quote from the named source;

"France and the United Kingdom have by far the two largest defense budgets on the European continent. Combined, the two countries' defense budgets are larger than those of the other 22 European NATO Alliance member nations."
Source: Agence France Presse
Date: 09/28/06
Author: D. Darling: Europeon Analyst.

Would anyone like to think what the Germans, Italians, Spanish, Dutch, Swiss, Austrians and the like are spending? Do your homework.

Also, let me be clear on another matter. I'm not talking about cutting defense spending. I putting the hard facts on the table that no nation can have the social same programs as other nations, if it spends 20% of its budget on defense while they spend 5% or less. Unless we want indefinite budget deficits of 20% or higher. Vague mutterings about cut something, but not what or how much, or complaining that we have to defend these countries - ignores the fact that if we keep it up - you can kiss this country good-bye.

1 Correction
France's was 5.24%. For what its worth, we're being taken to the cleaners. These are wealthy nations.

WWII ended 63 years ago. And, like it or not, it won't continue much longer.

However, the three stooges currently running certainly don't want to tell Americans that. They don't want to tell them they can't have their cake and eat it too.

the total spending of the euro union in 2007 was
304,000,000,000 USD which on current rates is:
197,296,000,000 Euros which is much more than double your 80bil you gave up.

take a look at this page:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_countries_by_military_ expenditures

they do spend less than our 20% though as you stated.

one thing you have to remember when going through those stats is the US protects the whole western world to a degree. we have soldiers around the world stopping countries from going to war. Your point is taken that we have different priorities, but we also have different responsibilities.

The one reason we cannot afford the things we would like is our government wastes billions of dollars annually. Our public school system, which claims is underfunded every second, wastes more than any of them. Teachers on this site will account for that as they had, that is had, to spend thousands on things they neither needed or wanted simply so they would get the funding next year.

Sjt18 p1
“I know that the proposition that "America deserved 9/11" or "White America hates and is systematically destroying black America”

Although I disagree wit your views, you seem rationale and fair so I offer the following for you to think about without any spin: I think it is important to understand that Rev Wright was not repudiating America as a whole, he was repudiating America for specific things that its government has done. When he spoke of America sponsoring terrorism, he was talking specifically of the proliferation of weapons in the Middle East during the Iran /Contra affair, the proliferation of weapons to Iraq during the Iraq/Iran War and America’s bombing of Hiroshima and Nagasaki during WW2. The proliferation of weapons to both Iraq and Iran was an unequivocal disgrace to our country, and there are many individuals (especially Black Christians) who believe that the nuclear bombing of Japan was inhumane giving that there were thousands of civilians who were killed as a result.

As for the systematic extermination of blacks, there are many who believe that the cocaine imported into our country as a result of the Iran/Contra affair, disproportionately affected blacks and led to the crack epidemic of the 1980’s. Also, America did engage in scientific experiments and extermination of blacks during the Tuskegee experiment, so the disproportionate infection of HIV amongst blacks raises suspicion by some African Americans, and convinces others like Rev Wright of US involvement in these matters.

Sjt18 p2

“Whose moral decay is resulting in 70% illegitimacy and all of the community destroying problems that come with it? That is the black community itself in fulfilling the leftist ideals of freedom without responsibility fomented by liberal social scientists of the 60's and 70'”

I really think we need to move past this blaming one side or the other for the overall failures of some in the black community. The truth is that there is plenty of blame that rest not only with the black community, but also anti black racism, along with conservative AND liberal policies and attitudes. There is some truth to the conservative argument that some blacks need to take more responsibility for their own moral and economic failures and that many of these failures ARE NOT a result of racial and economic marginalization. It is also some truth to the conservative argument that many liberal politicians have become apologist for the moral failures of many blacks. However these truths DO NOT mean that blacks are no longer affected by racism and that any accusation of racism put forward by blacks are fraudulent or exaggerated.

It is also important to note that much of the breakdown in the black family and poverty in the inner city can be attributed not only to the distribution of crack /cocaine in our American inner cities during a conservative administration, but also pro-conservative trade policies that have caused a large amount of manufacturing jobs (many that were located in the inner city) to move over seas causing economic stagnation amongst the people in these communities. There is plenty of blame on both sides and we must look at things in a comprehensive perspective, opposed to partisan perspectives.

If only they would listen
Thank you for addressing this very important subject. The GOP is abandoning the moral values of their platform. Many of the GOP call those of us that oppose their personal views "religious bigots." Is is time for a mass exodus from both parties?

Isn't it amazing...
That all us racist, misogynistic conservatives can have so much admiration for the writings of Mrs Parker?

I've got news for those of you who find it convenient to think of white conservatives as a bloc of racists... we aren't. In fact, you'll find just as many Dem voters who are white racists as GOP voters... and that's without counting the implicit racism of white elitist liberals who don't think blacks are capable of making it as free individuals. They believe blacks require THEIR help... and of course they expect political support for their other causes in exchange.

Anthony
the higher HIV in blacks is not a conspiracy. some 70% or something of black babies are born out of wedlock, now how would that have happened? they are sleeping around more than the average person. HIV is spread through sex.

you mention cocaine being partial to blacks. what would anyone else have to do with that besides the people that took the drug? each and every person who took it is responsible

Anthony
dropping the bombs on japan saved an est. 8 million lives. it killed some < 1million people, but saying it was inhumane means you have done no research on the subject.

the Japanese civilians were brainwashed into thinking the Americans would kill them and eat their children, among other things. When the US took over islands the civilians would jump off a cliff with their kids in their arms. Many past and current generals have gone over the plans of our invasion of japan and concluded the casualties would be 7-10mil people with many of those being civilians fighting to the death. please do some research when you pull a topic like that.

CKhustler
“the higher HIV in blacks is not a conspiracy.”

It may not be, and I personally don’t believe it to be a conspiracy. However, I just wanted to offer some perspective on why many in the African American community believe that it is possible or why some in the African American community (particularly Rev Wright) believe that this conspiracy has actually occurred.

“some 70% or something of black babies are born out of wedlock, now how would that have happened? they are sleeping around more than the average person. HIV is spread through sex.”

Well I never have believed that blacks “sleeping around more than the average person” caused more infections. One, I don’t believe blacks sleep around more or less than any other race. I believe this because I attended college with, and have been exposed to the sexual habits of many whites who were just as (if not more) promiscuous as some of the poorest blacks in America and the world in general.

Many of the black females in the inner city are so poor that they can’t afford abortions when they get pregnant. In addition to this, many black females in the inner city don’t have a large stock of men that can be married in order to legitimize their irresponsible acts in the manor that some do in America. The disproportionate amount of babies born out of wedlock may have more to do with lack of eligible men in the black community and the disproportionate amount of poor blacks that exist in this country.

What's right about genocide Star?
Marxist liberals and their cohorts in crime(MSM) will never stop identity/seperatist policies. It's how they garner their money, support and power. I mean anyone with a shred of honor or integrity could not with a straight face say that any of these marxist liberals, MSM, supposed ministers or leaders, and/or anti-war protesters really gives two hoots in hell about Americans of African descent whose ancestors where slaves. How could they possibly? The FACTS are that in the 5 years our country has been fighting in Iraq and now unfortunately lost 4 thousand soldiers; during that EXACT same time on the streets of the USA, OVER 30 THOUSAND, yes 30,000 young black men have been MURDERED BY OTHER BLACK MEN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Not one of these wonderful, loving, caring ...ad nauseum liberal marxist people have made a singular protest sign decrying this, thrown false blood on catholic parishoners in front of cameras, printed daily body counts, held a million man march against this GENOCIDE. Hell even they've all barely touched on, it if at all. And they won't because there is NO MONEY and NO POWER to be gained from it. Yes, once again as always actions speak louder than words. Speak poetically and all Obama as your sheep continue to be led to their slaughter by becoming victims of your continued support of hatred, discord, animosity and emnity. Crucify their spirits and turn them into killing machines at your political altar.

I reported the UK in lbs, and the French in Euro's because my statement was as a comparison to their budgets - not dollars. Those two numbers were accurate. Recalculate those numbers according to current exchange rates, and you'll see that it is similar to this sources $143 billion US. Mine, I might add, does not include the gendarmerie which are the domestic police in France. Now, the total for the 27 member Europeon Union is $304 billion. When the author said this number was greater than the remaining 22 NATO countries, he was right, in that 5 EU countries are not members of NATO. Fourthly, keep in mind that these numbers are in US dollars. And it now takes 157 cents to buy 1 Euro, whereas 5 years ago, 90 cents would do the same thing. The actual number of Euro's those countries spend, is all of $193 billion. 5 years ago, that would've represented $174 billion US dollars. Now, if you take those Euro's spent on defense and compare them to the 27 national budgets as reported in Euro's, it will come in well under 5%. The only reason it is a little over if converted to dollars at this point in time is because the dollar is in a free-fall.

All you've done is confirmed my point. 5%. And, a few years ago, it was much worse.

And, I certainly wasn't advocating any defense cut. But I will guarantee you that when the battles between social and defense spending start to ramp back up over the next decade, that this will become a central argument. We can't have both, and have lower taxes. It doesn't work.

After all - what are we doing?

CKhustler
“the Japanese civilians were brainwashed into thinking the Americans would kill them and eat their children, among other things”

Do you believe that ALL the Japanese were “brainwashed”? Is it inconceivable that there were individuals in Japan that did not approve of some of the foreign policy and moral decisions that its government and citizens made? Do you approve of all of the foreign policy and moral decisions that our government and citizens make? Is it fair to drop a nuclear bomb on a country in the manor that the US did in Japan for the brainwashing of some of the citizens? Is everyone in Iraq a terrorist, or are there some ordinary people living their lives that have no politics one way or the other? Are their lives expendable?

“Many past and current generals have gone over the plans of our invasion of japan and concluded the casualties would be 7-10mil people with many of those being civilians fighting to the death. please do some research when you pull a topic like that.”

I have heard the argument that bombing “saved lives” before, and I have studied a great deal about WW2 so I am not ignorant to the subject. It is impossible to know what would or wouldn’t have happened had the US not dropped the bomb on Japan. An army general can only offer estimations at best and estimations aren’t unequivocal facts. There are many who believe that the bombing of Japan was inhumane and not needed, Rev Wright was one of them.

No sorry but, GD AMERICA and The US of KKKA pretty much speaks for its self and there is no way too take that out of "context" is there now?

My perspective on Democrats…
‘The man’ you cultural Marxists are struggling so hard to keep down in your struggle for equality, upon whom you blame-shift all your problems, the day ‘the man’ has to shut up and go away. I am specifically referring to the rich, capitalist, powerful, war-mongering, redneck, gun-toting, family man, who has Christian morality and the Protestant work ethic. When ‘the man’ is ‘Gone with the Wind.’ The day ‘the man’ is stripped of his power to impose, and defend our way of life, by Bill and Hillary Clinton, Ruth Ginsburg, Barrack Obama, George Soros, the ACLU, the ghetto lottery trial lawyers, and the despair sub-culture that popularized equality of power, that is the day the new ‘dark ages’ begin. You will lament what your own children have become, and like Los Angeles, DC, New Orleans, Detroit, pre-Giuliani NYC, you will be powerless to do anything to stop it. All your expert psychologists will ask for more money to study the problem, and will never solve it, because they are part of the problem. You will learn the hard lesson that all ideas are not equal. I did that in one paragraph without bringing up race or racism.

The other guys were adequate on Japan and other foreign policy decisions.

Just a couple of additions.

Chamberlin and the 1930's allied leaders thought appeasement was the right answer. They refused to make calculations in blood like Truman (a Dem) did. The result was the deaths of 60 million people worldwide by the time Hitler and the Japanese were stopped.

Jimmy Carter was a liberal who believed that if you talked and negotiated long enough... you'd find agreement. His weakness and betrayal of the Shah put the mullahs in charge of Iran. The Shah wasn't perfect and Carter disliked the harshness with which he dealt with internal threats. However by Middle Eastern standards, the Shah was very progressive and was leading Iran toward a "modern state" benign to its neighbors and the west.

I met a guy who was a Physics professor in Iran while the Shah was in power. He admitted to being an ideological friend to the Revolution that ousted the Shah. He said the mullahs had fooled them. The Shah had not cracked down on intellectuals as a norm but rather those who tried to incite real problems. By ME stds, he was tolerant.

The first act of the mullahs was to round up intellectuals who posed a threat. He and his family had police raid his home. They took everything. The only thing of value left to this former upper middle class Iranian professor was his wife's jewelry which had been hid. They sold it, bribed an official, and found asylum in Spain... eventually making it to Canada.

The moral of the story is that inaction is usually more dangerous to all involved than action.

The idea that if we leave them alone, they'll leave us alone is foolish and dangerous in the extreme.

I believe we should be far less sophisticated in our foreign policy... however the actions you questioned need to be put in whole perspective.

Anthony Thomas RE: Lolo1
Hi Boo, I just wanted to field a question you asked of Lolo1, which was for her to prove that Obama is a racist, as his Pastor Wright is.

I'll give you 3 words first:

Typical White Person

Ok, he's entitled to his opinions, but that is his opinion. That statement he made regarding his grandmother spoke volumes to me.

Now, Obama didn't say A Minority of White Persons, or a Small Group of White Persons, but instead used Typical White Person, which means as a whole, to Obama, white people are pretty much all alike.

To Obama, I am a part of the Typical White People club, and that means:

1. I should be uttering racial vulgar language to anyone who is black.
2. I should be in fear of black people.
3. It is my wish to keep them out of politics and deny them voting rights.
4. It is my wish to enslave them.

The problem is, as a Typical White Person with all of the other Typical White People I know, we don't hate black people or fear them. We don't throw vulgar racial language at them. We also had no part in slavery, or trying to deny your civil liberties, in protesting where you go to school, or where you wish to work.

I have been compartmentalized, as well as the entire white population by Obama's Typical White Person statement.

I know he regrets he ever said it, and I heard him backpeddle miserably on Larry King over it, and failed, because we all knew what he meant by it. Something you can never take back...look at Imus.

NativeAmericaneyes: Don't Take His Bait!
For those that want to discuss the issues raised by Star Parker please don't take the bait that NativeAmericaneyes puts out there for you. He posts the same rantings all over Townhall. I mean the same exact posts.

I guess the only thing he knows about his computer is how to cut and past. I wrote a serious response to one of his blogs and he ignored it. That's because he just wants to pull people into hateful arguements. So please don't fall into NativeAmericaneyes traps. He a waste of time and space.

Re: Obama's other "spiritual menor"
In an article he penned for the anti-Israeli website Electronic Intifada, Ali Abunimah wrote:

"The last time I spoke to Obama was in the winter of 2004 at a gathering in Chicago’s Hyde Park neighborhood. He was in the midst of a primary campaign to secure the Democratic nomination for the United States Senate seat he now occupies. But at that time polls showed him trailing.

"As he came in from the cold and took off his coat, I went up to greet him. He responded warmly, and volunteered, 'Hey, I’m sorry I haven’t said more about Palestine right now, but we are in a tough primary race. 'Hey, I’m sorry I haven’t said more about Palestine right now, but we are in a tough primary race.' I’m hoping when things calm down I can be more up front.' He referred to my activism, including columns I was contributing to the The Chicago Tribune critical of Israeli and US policy [and said:] 'Keep up the good work!'"

In an interview earlier this year for the leftist radio show "Democracy Now!," a daily TV and radio news program hosted by Amy Goodman and Juan Gonzalez, Abunimah said he knew Obama for many years as his state senator "when he used to attend events in the Palestinian community in Chicago all the time."

"I remember personally introducing him onstage in 1999, when we had a major community fundraiser for the community center in Deheisha refugee camp in the occupied West Bank," he recounted. "And that's just one example of how Barack Obama used to be very comfortable speaking up for and being associated with Palestinian rights and opposing the Israeli occupation."

Re: Obama's other "spiritual menor"
The Arab-American activist went on to say: "In 2000, when Obama unsuccessfully ran for Congress I heard him speak at a campaign fundraiser hosted by a University of Chicago professor. On that occasion and others Obama was forthright in his criticism of US policy and his call for an even-handed approach to the Palestinian-Israeli conflict."

"Obama's about-face is not surprising," Abunimah wrote. "He is merely doing what he thinks is necessary to get elected and he will continue doing it as long as it keeps him in power."

When Obama first ran for the Senate in 2004, the Chicago Jewish News interviewed him on his stance regarding Israel's security fence. He accused the Bush administration of neglecting the "Israeli-Palestinian" situation and criticized the security fence built by Israel to prevent terror attacks: "The creation of a wall dividing the two nations is yet another example of the neglect of this Administration in brokering peace," Obama was quoted as saying.

Re: Obama's "financial mentor"
Antoin “Tony” Rezko, 52, a long-time friend and fundraiser for Barack Obama, is a Syrian-born property developer, pizzeria entrepreneur and political fixer in Chicago. Hillary Clinton has made him a campaign issue by denouncing him as a “slum landlord”. Mr Rezko faces two criminal trials as well as dozens of civil lawsuits.

Mr Rezko ended up in prison in January for violating bail by failing to declare a $3.5 million loan from Nadhmi Auchi, a British-Iraqi billionaire who was convicted of corruption in the Elf scandal in France in 2003. Mr Auchi was involved with Mr Rezko in a pizzeria business in the Midwest as well as a 62-acre property development in Chicago, and had lent millions of dollars to him.

An earlier $3.5 million dollar loan to Mr Rezko was made only weeks before Mrs Rezko bought the garden next to the Obamas’ new house.

Nadhmi Auchi is an Iraqi-born billionaire who was charged along with Saddam Hussein for conspiring to assassinate Iraqi Prime minister (president) Abdul Karim Qasim and stood trial in 1959.

Auchi protected secret money for Saddam Hussein AND Muammar al-Gadaffi.

Auchi also financially backed Saddam Hussein's plan for a pipeline from Iraq to Saudi Arabia.

Auchi was also a business partner with Nation of Islam Founder's son: Jabir Herbert Muhammad.

The disproportionate amount of babies born out of wedlock may have more to do with lack of eligible men in the black community and the disproportionate amount of poor blacks that exist in this country".

There's enough men to knock them up, but not enough to marry them? Really?

Oh Please...pretty lame

What about the pill, what about condoms? I hear they give 'em away these days. I know, I know, it's just gotta be someone elses fault. C'mon Anthony you have to do better than this!!

So let me get this straight, Barack Obama would actually distort his real views. Oh my God! I don't know if I'll ever get over this.

Now here's some more news, Before this campaign is over we're going to hear about so many lies that Obama has told our heads are going to spin. The bad thing is that even with your first hand knowledge of Obama lying, its not going to matter. The media is so far in the tank for Senator Obama, there's no way that you'll ever find out about his twisting of the truth through the 'main stream' media.

The only thing you can do is tell your friends and family what you know about the Senator. I think that its good that you have posted your comments here. But for those that already have their minds up they're just going to blow you off.

Just a couple weeks ago, Obama lost one of National Security advisors. After the advisor left the campaign we found out through the Scotish media that Obama has no intentions of pulling out of Iraq. How much did you hear about that from ABC, NBC, or CBS? Nothing!

Don't get me wrong, I think we need to finish the mission in Iraq. And even if you don't hold the same view, I don't think that we should find out Obama isn't going leave Iraq through the international press. You would think that a lie of this magitude would have been exposed by our own media in big bold headlines. I don't see them, did you?

What is Star Parker really saying?
After reading many of the posts on this page it seems that most people have lost sight of what Star Parker is trying to say. She's trying to get us to look beyond the Jeremiah Wright Jr. story, so that John McCain's campaign can start reaching out to voters. I think that she has a good point. As someone who has written quite a number of blogs about this issue, I think we need to broaden the scope of our examination of Barack Obama.

I think that we all get the point that Jeremiah Wright is a bigot. And we all know Barack Obama sat in church and listened to his teachings for twenty years. So we all know that Obama exercised terrible judgment by being friends with a racist preacher. But if we don't get off this subject to some extent, we're going to miss moving onto other very important areas in this campaign.

John McCain, is going to need to reach a broad range of voters in order to win in November. One group of people that need to be reached are those that are economically disadvantaged. That means that the Republican Party needs to address the needs of black and white voters who need job education and job training.

The McCain campaign is going to have to ensure the unemployed that they will receive help finding good paying jobs. And McCain is going to have to show that they are engaged in the economic uncertainty, that has so many people worried about their futures.

John McCain himself, has admitted that he's weak on economic issues. Senator McCain is going to need someone really good on his ticket. Someone, that is strong on job building and economics. Will that be Mitt Romney? I don't know. But Romney has a lot of creditability on this issue. So McCain could do the national security and Romney could handle the economy, just a thought.

Re: RadhaKrishna
First, you have a serious problem, breaking the tenth commandment. Don't desire your neighbor's stuff. Second, you have blame shifted, the successful person is blamed for the failure of the loser. If the loser had punched a time clock instead of dancing he would have been just as successful or more successful. Third, you have Marxist assumptions that everybody should have equal wealth or at least cultural Marxist idea that everybody should have equal power. It is difficult to tell from your statement keep them down which you are talking about, keeping them poor or powerless. You must free yourself from all of these big lies. If the your job isn't paying you enough, start your own business. No one can keep anybody else down. They do not own you. If somebody is rich with dollars and if you trade in Euros there is no connection. If they trade in dollars and Euros start trading in seashells. Nobody keeps anybody else down. If you want that particular piece of property, just wait until they lose it in a divorce settlement or to their kid's gambling debt or drug habit. Punch a time clock save your money and buy the property. The system we have in the US has not been good to me. I have always been on the bottom rung and trained many supervisors. This isn't so bad, compared to Marxism, struggle for equality of wealth, which has resulted in humanitarian nightmares everywhere in the world it has been tried.

"There's enough men to knock them up, but not enough to marry them? Really?"

Wow, you completely missed the point. I’m not talking about prevention; I’m talking about when a woman (white or black) actually gets pregnant and what their options are and how this affects the statistic for out of wedlock births.

When white women get pregnant, they have more economic resources to get an abortion and they have more available men (given that most people marry within their own race) that they can marry in order to legitimize their irresponsible acts. The person that impregnates the woman isn’t necessarily the person that marries her and by sheer numbers there are many more white men who can be married in this country than black men who can be married. When black women get pregnant, they are more likely to give birth to their babies because many don’t have the money to get an abortion. They are also less likely to get married because of the small amount of black men (in comparison to white men) that exist in America, AND that are WILLING to marry someone that they just had a fling with, or that they did not impregnate.

Bullet bob p2
I have known women that have gotten pregnant by one man and covered it up by marrying another man and providing her child with the last name of the person they married even though it was not his child. This behavior is not practiced as much in the black community as in others. It is also important to remember that collectively white women earn more money than black women and this is why the economic disparity exists between those that can afford abortions and those that can’t. I don’t offer any of this to justify unprotected sex, I only offer it to give some perspective on why blacks have an inflated amount of out of wedlock births. No American should engage in unprotected sex before they are married and I don’t condone that sort of behavior.

Re: Anthony Thomas
"I only offer it to give some perspective on why blacks have an inflated amount of out of wedlock births."

My reply: The real life reason among blacks, whites, and Hispanics, is that "nobody has the right to tell anybody what to do." My Catholic grandfather would have given them the back of his hand real good, or if they were real bad used his belt. The priest would have had them in confessional, understanding their guilt, lighting candles and praying to save their souls. The Baptist revival preacher would have had them understanding their guilt, on their face in repentance crying out to God to save their souls. The community would have made the girls trying to be a single mom ashamed. Now nobody dares to tell a precious little girl what to do. The entire Democrat argument about abortion all the way up to their goddess Ruth Ginsburg is the government doesn’t have the right to tell a girl not to have an abortion, or anything else. The insistence on equality of power is cultural Marxism popularized by a despair subculture. We have secularized everything which has stripped everything that gave meaning to life and it results in all kinds of kids mental health problems, which the Psychologists blame shift most of these mental health problems on parents abuse. It pervades our entire education system, all of the kids entertainment, has made every traditional way of controlling others in our society, laughed at by the entire generation. They laugh at traditional family, traditional religion, traditional morality, being law abiding, and every other way traditional people, would have given them the back of their hand real good when they were out of line. These traditional people have had their hands tied by professionals who view a traditional man with the same contempt as a former slave owner. You will lament what your own children become and will be powerless to do anything to change it.

Anthony
this is a laughing stock...if anyone has put down the black race its your comments.

your saying that black men are good enough to have sex with but not marry? could you insult the black man anymore than saying there aren't very many of them that are responsible men able to have a wife? you speak as if all white women that get pregnant make sure they have a husband. the fact you would say that means you are dealing with an already skewed opinion on the matter. you will make up any story to compensate for what is going on.

there are free abortion clinics, often in the run down areas of cities.

you are digging yourself a hole with these arguments.

fyi
Anthony...im sure the ratio of black women to black men is the same as white women to white men.

Insisting on fighting for nothing
The above posts are classic examples of a royal waste of time. Why do you people insist on picking fights with each other? Nothing you are talking about is advancing the point that Star Parker is trying to get across. I would like to know why you are here? Are you lonely? Or maybe you just don't get enough attention at home.

I'd like to redirect your attention to the original point that Star Parker was making about getting the Republican Party to promote retraining people that are out of a job. She's trying to get us to acknowledge that the Republican Party has failed to reach low and middle income people with a message of hope. That the McCain campaign needs to counter the populism of the far-left Obama and Clinton campaigns.

But instead of talking about how to help the under educated get out of the hopelessness of being trapped in a dead end jobs, you want get caught up in senseless sniping contests. Which one of you has offered one concrete statement about the original article written by the author? I think you people just like arguing about silly and pointless sub-contexts that are totally off the point. So, if you're really bored, I guess you could try to pick a fight with me.

Re: Mr M Coupe
Okay, who is surprised the Democrats want more atheist public schools? They want more secularism, more cultural Marxism producing kids who insist nobody has the right to tell me what to do. Everybody who can get out of the chaos of their big cities does, and they have lots of empty buildings and empty classrooms to fill with illegal immigrants. Just build more prisons, and more gated communities with lots of security guards. Until you stop treating the family man like he is a former slave owner you are heading into a new dark ages.

Chas
I think that you and I would agree that the public schools are a total mess. And that the politics promoted by most school boards is geared toward secular humanism. And this agenda is driving many parents to private or home schooling.

My youngest son went to a Christian school west of Detroit that was at least 30% black. Most of the black kids came from the Detroit public school system because their parents knew their children wouldn't ever be able to go to college if they stayed where they were. And when it came graduation time the Detroit parents had tears coming down there cheeks because over 95% of the kids from their class were going on to higher education. This would not have happened with most of those students if they stayed in Detroit.

This is clearly the type of discussion that moves the conversation forward. Now we can talk about the virtue of a good education provided by private organizations as opposed to the government. The fact of the matter is that my son received a better education at a private school for less money than he would have at a public school for much more money.

I would like to see all children have the same education my son and his classmates had. If we could move minority kids into stable schools where they can receive a good education, our society would be changed in one generation. But this will never happen with the teachers unions monopolizing all the tax dollars for their under performing public schools.

With Regards,

Mr. M Coupe

Mr M Coupe
You state this very well, based on your personal experience. I agree with everything you wrote. I lived in Westland, Detroit, Reading and Allen, I worked in Wayne, Dearborn, Sterling Heights, and Hillsdale. I went to community college in Southfield and Jackson. I lived in Michigan for fifteen years. I still have relatives in Livonia, and Novi. I liked the automotive industry. I was into assembly plant paint, and paint preparation. Later, I was an engineering lab technician. I found that in the assemnbly plants, I was replaced by foreign competition and automation like robotics. In the lab the qualifications to do the job kept getting higher, I was eventually no longer qualified to do the job I had done for ten years. I understand thoroughly what people in Michigan are going through. I know how many empty buildings are in Detroit, and how many good people live with bars on the windows of their houses while the criminals are running the streets. They called it white flight but it was escaping the chaos and lawlessness. Now there are a lot of middle eastern immigrants, and the need to fill all the empty buildings and classrooms with illegals. In Democrat cities like Detroit, they are left bobbing in the wake of a lot of ambitious people who thought they could change the world. When their ideas failed, they just blamed it on the man. Now they just blame everything on Pres GWB.

Now he is going way too far...
Obama's pastor Rev Wright slurred Italians in a piece published in the most recent issue of Trumpet Newsmagazine... "The Italians for the most part looked down their garlic noses at the Galileans."

Okay, my family doesn't have a beef with his anti-semitism, but now he is going way too far. Guido, go break his legs... :)

Chas
I like your sense of humor. I'm not Italian, but after everthing Rev. Jeremiah Wright Jr. has said, now his gone too far. I hope that he has some good body guards, cause he's going to need them. I feel a rubbin' out coming on. You can say God Damn America, and the KKK of A. But 'gralic noses', he must have a death wish. ;)

Why is Barack Obama running for Pres?
He claims that he is uniquely qualified to “bring our country together” and that despite his lack of experience and relative youth, he has demonstrated superior “judgment”.
Obama has now acknowledged Reverend Jeremiah Wright, used incendiary language that widened the racial divide. Obama says of (his) fellow congregants that (their) anger is real; it is powerful; and that not understanding its roots, serves to widen the chasm between the races.
If Obama is really the Reconciler in Chief, why didn’t he change the hearts of Rev. Wright and his flock over the past 20 years? Everyone is asking what influence the good Reverend had on the candidate, but shouldn’t we be wondering why the very people Obama knew best; still hate America, the White Man and Israel?
With regard to the issue of judgment; Obama demeans President Bush, John McCain and the Clintons claiming that they didn’t know what was going on inside Saddam’s closed police state, (10,000 miles away) meanwhile he didn’t know what was happening in the pew right next to him.
I think that pretty well puts the qualifications issue to rest.
