Poll
Will the Dems' health care Christmas Present to America be an improvement or detriment to our health care system?

The honesty and transparency themes are driving much of voter sentiment in this election. It helps explain the surprising success of Republican candidate Mike Huckabee. And we see similar dynamics with the Democratic candidates.

Consider a "The Economist/YouGov'' poll out last week.

When Democratic voters were asked which phrases they would use to describe their candidates, results included the following:

-- Honesty: Obama 54 percent, Clinton 35 percent.

-- Moral: Obama 54 percent, Clinton 34 percent.

-- Religious: Obama 29 percent, Clinton 19 percent.

-- Says what he/she believes: Obama 60 percent, Clinton 39 percent.

Clinton's growing image of untrustworthiness is taking a toll. Obama now leads in Iowa, and the gap between him and Clinton is tightening in other state and national polls. Now, just out, is a poll by John Zogby showing Clinton losing in races against every Republican candidate. Yet, Zogby's poll shows Obama or Edwards winning these same races.

It's more than perception. Dishonesty defines Clinton's campaign.

A few examples:

-- Health Care: Clinton's signature issue. The defining theme is the need for mandated universal health care because of the large number of uninsured.

When the census bureau reported earlier this year that 47 million Americans are without health insurance, Clinton said: "When I began the fight for universal coverage almost 15 years ago, there were 37 million people uninsured. It was an outrage then and with 10 million more uninsured today, it is an even deeper outrage today."

Who are these 47 million? It's not hard to dig into the U.S. Census Bureau numbers to see. N. Gregory Mankiw, Harvard economics professor, and former head of President Bush's Council of Economic Advisors, did this a few weeks ago on the pages of the New York Times.

About 10 million are not U.S. citizens and many are illegal immigrants. Another 18 million have annual household incomes over $50,000, half of whom have incomes over $75,000. According to Mankiw, about 25 percent of the uninsured have been offered health insurance by their employer and have turned it down. A good chunk of the remaining individuals qualify for Medicaid and haven't applied.

After eliminating non-citizens, those who can afford to, but for whatever reason don't insure themselves, and those qualifying for Medicaid but haven't applied, the remaining universe of uninsured is a fraction of the 47 million. Continued...

Why support Hillary
The comments on the support of Hillary usually are just because she is a woman, or just because they hate Bush. Emotion mostly. The substance is she has no experience, she does not tell the truth, she is power hungry, and she is a socialist. When she cant answer a question she either gives the wicked witch laugh or blows it off with double talk. This nation is in need of a strong, honest, hard nosed leader who can bring all factions together for the common good. Thats not Clinton, she is a divider. The thought of her teamed up with nut case Polesi, and Reid is down right alarming. Then throw in Gingsburg and who else Hillary might appoint, we could be history as a nation. You want higher taxes, more abortions, weak military, bombs in our cities, open borders, futher distruction of the home and family, pastors told what they can preach, and more big brother looking over your shoulder? Go ahead support the Hillary.

You missed the point, again.

Talk about dishonesty!
Starr Parker is more dishonest thna Clinton (what can you expect from a black Warpublican) when she discusses the healthcare breakdown. The issue is not who can afford healthcare or not - the issue is HOW MANY ARE UNINSURED - talk about parsing a sentence. Even if someone makes over $75,000, if they remain uninsured, they can become a burden to us all - cancer or a serious operation can wipe out an income of $75,000 - hardly rich in today's world - and who will pay for chemothreapy?

The point being that, "if" we could get rid of all the illegals and the non US citizens who use emergency rooms for primary care, we would have a lot less "uninsured" people to try to deal with. Embellishing totals by including people who shouldn't be receiving health care makes Hillary look like she's tackling a much larger problem. It goes along with the pandering for the illegal votes she would be sure to get for her benevolent socialist handout programs. Every US citizen should be able to get needed health care at an affordable rate but until we address the amount of our tax dollars that are being used to support people who shouldn't be here, we won't get a handle on any of it.
I've lived in Russia and Canada, both of which have socialized medicine and I can tell you that it is not the way we want to go.
