Was the Copenhagen Global Warming Summit Walk-Out a Win for the U.S.?

There's a difference between a party with principles not doing a good job executing those principles and a party with no principles. Anyone who thinks that turning the reins of power over to Democrats will raise the country's moral bar should take a cold shower.

We can parse out every element of former Republican Congressman Mark Foley's behavior that sickens normal, decent Americans and find that these elements are today, in one form or another, a generally accepted part of everyday life in the country. We can thank liberals for this state of affairs, and these liberals are Democrats.

What are we upset about?

Sexual promiscuity? A third of babies born today in the United States are born to unwed mothers. The idea that sexual behavior belongs in the exclusive realm of marriage has long departed from popular American culture.

We relate to others as objects for our use, and then cast them aside when they are no longer useful. Why should we expect the culture of the U.S. Congress be any different from what we find generally accepted in the country as a whole?

Homosexuality? Let's face it. Culturally, homosexual behavior is now an accepted part of American life. Homosexuals host popular national talk shows. Most American corporations provide benefits for "partners" and prohibit any talk or behavior that might imply lack of openness to all "lifestyles."

The entertainment industry provides a steady diet of films, TV shows and music that legitimize every imaginable form of sexual behavior.

Underage sex?

According to data gathered from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention by Child Trends DataBank in 2005, 34 percent of high school students reported that they had had sexual intercourse during the previous three months, including 22 percent of ninth-graders. Half of 12th-grade students say they had sex in the last three months.

Twenty-eight out of our fifty states permit a teen-age girl to get an abortion without the permission of her parents. Seventeen states do not even require that the teenage girl inform her parents before getting the abortion.

One of these seventeen states is California, home of Democratic minority leader Nancy Pelosi, now palpitating at the prospect of becoming the first woman speaker of the House.

In 2005, parents in a local school district in California sued the school system for allowing a questionnaire to be distributed to kids from 7 to 10 years old, asking them explicit questions about their sexual feelings. The district court ruled against the parents. According to the court ruling, parents have no right "to prevent a public school from providing its students with whatever information it wishes to provide, sexual or otherwise, when and as the school determines that it is appropriate to do so."

Sexual "education" is now a regular part of public school curricula. Girls and boys receive this material together. The only message these kids get is that the only reason to abstain from any form of sexual behavior is the extent to which that behavior might inconvenience one's life. Sexual behavior is taught to be the result of "orientation" and not choice.

So what's the big deal about Mark Foley?

Bill Clinton transformed the Oval Office into a sexual romper room, used the power of the nation's highest office to prey on the young and naive for his pleasure, brought discussion about intimate sexual behavior into common public discourse, and educated America's children about alternative modes of sexual behavior.

Clinton suffered at most an embarrassing few moments, apologized for something or other that to this day remains ambiguous to me, and today postures as a global statesman.

Supposed Democratic outrage about Mark Foley cannot possibly have anything to do with Foley's behavior. In the world of the Democratic left, the only intolerance is intolerance. The only evil is to condemn any behavior that takes place between supposedly consenting adults.

Democratic outrage about the Foley affair is a simple stage show to provoke voters.

Republican leadership leaves a lot to be desired. The party has got to get focused and tighten the reins of management. But there is little question that there is only one party that still gives credence to traditional values, and that is the Republican Party.

To flip power over to the Democrats, the party of social chaos, is simply to take a bad situation and make it worse.

Another god article from
Star Parker. Don't worry Star there are a lot of conservatives who are not going to vote against their values.

Time To Fight Back
I feel the real point is the Republicans need to punch back hard on the Democrats trying to have thier cake and eat it too. They are the party of no principles and we need to push that point home every chance we can. NewsMax and Rush Limbaugh have a whole list of Dems that are still in office even after the worst scandles. Why are we not calling to have them thrown out...starting with Ted Kennedy.

Kimberly's remarks
Kimberly,
Do you know for sure that Foley is a "predator"? I don't see that from anything I've read about him. It IS true, however, about Ted Kennedy, Jerry Studds ,and Bill Clinton, himself. Let's not forget about Jim Mc Greevy, X-governor from New Jersey. Is there any place in Jersey that he did not have gay sex in, while being a married man and father? All of these men are held in very high esteem(?) in their own party and the main-stream media.
I'll take Republicans with all their warts any day.

Kimberly,
You're fascinating. This has been going on for years in Both parties. What I need to know is why it is more heinous for an elephant than a jack a--. Oh, now I know. You must not be an elephant.

Kimberly
Kimberly, you have a right to state your beliefs, but did you absorb anything from Star Parker's column? Her purpose was to pretty much indict the entire country, Democrats and Republicans, for what we have allowed to take place. Yes, she deservedly condemns the Democrats and liberals and their supporters for taking immorallity to unheard of heights, but the Republicans don't escape her anger. You have a small mind to turn everything back to an indictment of Foley when the facts clearly show so much going on, now and in the past, supported by the Democrats. Your anger is misplaced.

When Kimberely's political choices are
empowered, people like Foley will be Elevated- so long as they are Not Republicans.

Someone Remove the Electrodes
from Rude Two's brain, please. And get Bill Clinton's cigar out of his mouth.

Rude Two lied apparently a few days ago claiming not to be a liberal, since he's truncating "conservative" as "CONS" now.

Rude, we're never going to swallow the crap you're spewing about Republican hypocrisy. The only hypocrit to be exposed is Foley, whose shunning was so certain that Foley did it for us. Furthermore, conservatives do not believe in the inherent overwhelming goodness of mankind; therefore, the existence of every kind of evil in both parties in Congress does not surprise us in the slightest.

Finally, we have the reasoning capacity to differentiate between a group and an outcast former member of that group. Your identity politics is so amateurish and stupid it hurts. You've gotta be in junior high, dude.

Lesser evil?
We are often told that we better put up with the stink coming out of the Republican tent because we would be in real trouble if the Democrats got elected.

The Republicans better look to Iran. Their president got elected because the people of Iran didn’t care about his issues, they were sick of the crooks who were running things.

Conservatives are told they should be worried by the possibility of electing a Democratic congress that in the past has gotten us into useless wars, poor trade agreements, big government, huge deficits, open borders, amnesty for illegal aliens, increased welfare, more government regulation, bribes and looting the treasury. Oh wait a minute; this is what Republicans have given us.

Parker's right on with this
The biggest victim is as always the United States as a whole. We've been held captive by ignorant liberal laws(see california) for so long the decline of or lack of morals and common sense is evident in everyday life. It's infiltrated all sides of government(see Foley)and threatens kids at grade school level(see california again). Liberalism is a cancer spread nationwide. It needs treatment.

Glad to see Arnold had enough sense and listened to the public and vetoed the homosexual courses the CA. liberals wanted to teach school children. That's the kind of teaching that breeds people like Studds & Pelosi. Liberals can feign all the concern they want over this scandal, but their actions tell a very different story. They can't hide from that.

Vote against Hillary, keep her ilk out of Washington. Bill's first lady role will give him plenty of time to prey on more women. Don't let it happen.

UWCHARLIE
Appears to be the only one that gets Stars message so far. American society in general is being blasted for allowing homosexual activity to become as accepted as it is today. The cause of this growing acceptance of this perverted behavior can be traced back to the liberal ways of the Democrats, and the abundant number of fagots that walk the streets of Hollywierd. Homosexual activity however is still is NOT an accepted way of life in America. A clear example that could be used to show that Americans are still opposed to the gay life style is that whenever the same sex marriage issue is placed on the ballot for the American public to vote upon, it is almost almost unanimously voted down. What has happened over the years is that the Democrats and their supporters in Hollywierd continue to force the gay issue through their programming and make it appear that living the gay life style is now considered to be an acceptable way of life...NOT!

Rosie O'Donnell, and ABC, what two perfect examples of how screwed up the gay way of thinking really is.

GO DETROIT TIGERS!

Kimberly and r0_d2 are koolaid drinkers
Kimberly perfectly illustrates the liberal mindset. She is either willingly ignorant or a bald faced lier.

1. If it was known in the halls of Congress that Foley was a predator, it was known by Democrats and Republicans alike.

2. It is a fact that Democrats sat on this for months in order to get the most from it politically. While this may be an example of political hardball, it is also an example of putting politics ahead of the kids.

3. The Democrat mantra of protecting the kids is demonstrably false as the numbers 1 and 2 illustrate.

4. Is there really any need at this point to bring up Gerry Studds and the Democrat response to that affair?

r0_d2 is equally spinning for the dems and in the same category as Kimberly in that he is either willingly ignorant or a lier. To say that Studds engaged in consensual sex with an adult is just beyond the pale. The kid was 17 years old and an active page! Studds took him out of the country to avoid US law. Studds was the epitome of a sexual predator and he was rewarded by his party with 3 standing ovations, reelection until his retirement and plum committee chairmanships. So don't give me this crap about Studds.

The difference between the dems and conservatives is clear. For Republicans, when one their own goes bad, they jettison him. For Democrats, when one of their own goes bad they circle the wagon and protect him. The difference is striking and the double standard is sickening.

R-O et al
Simply put, ALL sexual predatos should be put away. Men and Women!. Yet, everytime I read your posts..... you just talk ;( too much.( Doth protest to much.?) And what ever point you're trying to make is lost in all that 'babble'.

To all
I meant "Too" much.

All summed up
Debauchery in a Republican is diversity in a Democrat.

Principles in Washington
is a joke...name three political incumbents in Washington that are principled...how can anyone argue either political party has merit...?

Principles?
How can some of you believe that the Democrats have principles. Just think of Ted Kennedy and Bill Clinton. Do we just sweep what they did under the table? Get real.

Clarification for Koolaid drinkers
Star's well-stated point is that liberal (i.e. democrat) policies encourage, promote and enable the Mark Foleys of our society. The only hypocrisy here is the phony democrat outrage.

Demos loves Homosexuals
It is a well known fact that democrats love homosexuals. Foley is obviously a homosexual, where is their love for this homosexual? Oh I forgot, there is love only if the homosexual is from the left side of the aisle. Anyone that is planning to vote for the democrats in November in an effort to restore morality in our goverment is hurting for brains.

In addition
Anyone else notice how liberals need cliff notes to understand that which has been clearly stated?

r0_d2
you need to calm downn i am getting the impresstion that someone molested you as a kid or something with how emotionally involved you are getting.
Actully this case is not really about abusing a child as we have no proof a child was abused, harrassed maybe but not abused. This like the studds, crane and Clinton case is about abuse of power. Studds, Crane, Foley, and Clinton all used there power to do what they did to their "victims" it does not matter if it was consentual or not it is still ethically wrong to use your power to intice someone to either have sex to talk about it.

ro_d2
Nice try. Now tell me. Which side supports NAMBLA?

Also
Which side made pornography a first ammendment right?

Why entertain the trolls?
Can't you see that it is pointless?

You just end up spinning your wheels and being drained yourself so that you take nothing away from the article that might be useful for yourself and your loved ones.

"Leave them alone, they are blind guides, and if a blind man leads a blind man, they will both fall into the pit."

Democrat power - NO
You are so right!
The garbage of propaganda is piling up high and deep on conservative heads with the result that Democrat power may be exactly what we will have a month from now.
Petulance on the part of conservatives and single issue voters is also piled high and deep and that is not what is needed.
Toward that end, my message to you is: CONSERVATIVES, GET OUT AND VOTE EVEN IF YOU HAVE TO HOLD YOUR NOSE.

If Conservatives are not feeling pressured, they are not paying attention. There is a high tech propaganda effort by the Liberal Democrat Left using pollsters, political handicappers and a cooperative media to intimidate Conservatives to throw in the towel and sit out the next election; a reaction that would be exactly the wrong thing to do.

Conservatives have been repeatedly and abundantly warned that Republicans will lose both House and Senate to the Democrat liberals because of Republican missteps and the war on terrorism,

The Left’s primary weapons in its propaganda campaign continue to be criticism of every policy of the Bush administration, hate for President Bush personally, anger about Bush winning the Presidency in 2000, and destruction of every idea that is not consistent with the Democrat’s desire to return to power. Now the Left has returned to the politics of personal destruction in the Rep.Foley scandal and is using it as a tool to discourage Conservatives from voting.

In the current political cycle, the Left offers no ideas and is capable only of criticism, hate, anger and destruction. For Conservatives, their strategy pales into insignificance and is rubbish compared to the prospect of being governed by Liberal extremists, socialists, who will purge Conservative ideas as a factor of political discourse.

There are only two answers to this for Conservatives: ignore the propaganda, and resolve to turn out in great numbers to support the Conservative consensus and vote for any candidate who stands for Conservative principles, who values our freedom, our traditional culture, our way of life.

The Democrats believe they have the election locked up and power will shift, but a Conservative and Republican turnout can prevent this.

m-mama
You must have it r-nothing where he lived, no snappy comeback, or perhaps someone hid his list of insults and talking points.

I saw Star's article as critical of both parties, but saying the Democrats were doing a lot of finger pointing without solutions. ( I remeber the saying the little kids used to have. When you point your finger at someone, the are 3 pointing back at you.)

Dems, take a shower
Well Said.

Repug-Lie-Con
When you have to resort to name-calling, you obviously have lost the debate.

Elect Democrats for their morals?
Foley has brought shame to Republicans but Democrats have no shame. Most people as individuals have a personal limit to what they will or will not do. Democrats in office do not have a sense of right or wrong, they govern by bunko scam. They are constantly inventing some pseudo crisis to save us from and usually do great harm in the process. To further their cause they pollute our news media so people no longer trust it, cheat children of proper educations by perverting our schools into Democrat Propaganda Camps graduating children who carry protest signs they can't even read, weaken America by dividing us into warring ethnic groups so they can tell different lies to appease each group. They obfuscate our language by substituting less harsh words to describe what they do, like "spin" for lie, etc.
Democrat Prosecutors prostitute justice by embarrassing Republicans , marring their reputations and forcing them to hire defense attorneys when they had positive proof the persons were innocent prior to drafting the indictment. Democrat Activist Judges endanger the very fabric of our justice system by deliberately misinterpreting our Constitution and negating rights of citizens for political purpose.
Our Constitution is written in a form of legalese known as "Mandatory Language", meaning the words have already been litigated many times and judged to have only one possible meaning. That is why these particular words are used to draft laws, wills, contracts, etc. For a Judge to deliberately cloud the meaning of those words is to jeopardize laws and contracts throughout America.

Just what is this Democrat cause that justifies any means? What do Democrats want to do FOR the people? The only objective evident to me is giving absolute power over our Nation and the future of our people to a devious pack of despotic tyrants who live by no moral code.

To All
Howdy everyone,
If you get down and wrestle with pigs (in this case the oft-repeating, screamer r0_d2) all you get is dirty and the pigs like it. Or, you can slap lipstick on a pig and it's still just a pig. My apologizes to the other white meat for equating you with r0. I imagine your vocabulary and ways of expressing yourselves are on a considerably higher plane.

Happy Columbus Day

PS: r0_d2, even if no one else loves ya, God still does.

umm r0_d2 calm down
no it is not about abuse of children. Tell me what abuse accured and where it accured last time i checked emails are not clear proof of abuse. I do not even consider the Instant messages to even lean towards abuse as the receiver of the IMs was 18 at the time.

I would also like to see proof of a cover up i just dont see it right now as there is no evidence the GOP knew the extent of Foley's advaces. All we know that the GOP knew is that he sent so "over friendly" emails to a page. if i understand right the response was the party leadership told him to cut it out, i dont know if this was the right response or not because i dont know what they knew and niether do any of us. If it can be proven there was a cover up then kick them out everyone who helped cover it up. i also would kick them out if someone withheld the info to use as an October suprise.

acutally i have
Well I was hoping someone would address the FACTS I posted, but I'm in a hurry............they have only been on here since 5am. My cordless keyboard batteries are toast.

Maybe if I have time later.

i did in order for a sex crime to have accured a sex act must be performed can you prove that Foley did anything to any of these pages he coresponded with.

Taproot
You are right,
cleaned off the spittle and the pig sty mud.

My only other comment to anyone on either side is when you start with name calling (nolo contendere) , most people find it hard to listen (read) after that.

r0_d2
"LIE 4 :
'Gerry Studds'

THE LAWS HAVE CHANGED SINCE THE '80's'. SORRY LOOK IT UP ! DC CHILD PREDATOR LAWS !"

So, just to be clear, you're saying that leftist morality changes freely as the laws change? Whatever is all the rage? And that's why the democratic party responded so much more favorably to Studds' far more serious transgressions? Because sex with minors hadn't become "uncool" yet?

You may be trying to make points against Republican principles, but you're certainly not making any in favor of Democrat principles.

Dear r0_d2
First, IF Clinton's consentual affair with a 22-year-old WOMAN (and whose wife doesn't care) is about "abuse of his power" what is this? Abuse of children.

Monica was 19 when it started

Second, to mix in the consentual adult page sex "scandal" of 1983, is totally FALSE LOGIC. Designed to cloud this Pedophile (laws enacted since the 1980's) issue. Laws the GOP ALSO voted for. Yes age of consent in DC is 16.

Consensual Adault = 17 at the time

Third, THERE ARE MANY VICIMS, those whose idiotic spin says that there is still only 1 victim, age 18, are LIARS.

There is only evidene of 1 though

Fourth, THIS is a crime if victim is under 18 years of age. While age of consent IS 16, IF predator is 4 YEARS or OLDER than a victim under 18, IT IS A CRIME. IF predator holds power over victim, it is a CRIME. (Newer child predator laws) Stop the spin, look it up.

See the item marked Seconde above

Fifth, knowledge of Foley by GOP now goes back to 1995 and COVERUP of pedophile sex known by GOP is now claimed back to at least 2000. To know of this activity and do nothing is a CRIME (child predator laws).

Knowledge of Foley being Gay goes back to 1995, and inocuous letters goes back to 2000, the knowledge of sexual scandal goes back to last Friday

Sixth, Claiming a pre-election "bomb" by the Dem's is Dumb. They didn't abuse children or cover it up. THEY, with what is known, turned the info over to the FBI the DAY they (CREW) received it in July.

I'd say holding on to information for a year to release it just before an election is a cover up too.

Seventh, The bogus "But, but, THEY knew too!" claim. There has been NO CONNECTION to the Dem's showing they knew of Foley before this GOP SCANDAL broke.

See the point marked fifth

Foley's Pedophile grooming, sex, and abuse of power involving CHILDREN being covered up by MANY in the party that CLAIMS their FALSE moral high ground is SICK.

An individual isn't the same as a group. To have investigated Foley would have resulted in the Democrats shouting "HOMOPHOBIA" from every corner of Washington D.C. and you would have been echoing the sentiment.

A party that is MORE worried about consensual sex with adults than a pedophile Cover-Up, solely to hold party seats, is a party of SICK PERVERTS.

I find it itneresting how you re-define adults for Democrats and Republicans.

little mistake there
jaydee writes
Monica was 19 when it started
-umm that is still of legal age the point is not that is was legal or illegal it is the fact he used is power as president to start the relationship.

R0-D2 has an announcement to make
From his remarks I'm certain the just like the liberal epiphany that Dan Quayle was right, right here on this forum r2-d0 is going to announce, “The Boy Scouts were right.”

He clearly is opposed to pedophiles (spell that Gay Men) grooming children (at least he’s defining 16 and 18 year olds as children, you see to say children makes people think of pre pubescent elementary school students rather than people capable of driving or joining the military) for their future sexual proclivities.

And from his quantum leap conclusions one can only conclude that a Gay Man who wants to be Friendly with young boys, and wants to discuss personal information (like you do in the Boy Scouts) is so obviously a pedophile that he should be fired from his position in the United States Congress, how can we trust any such individual in the Boy Scouts.

I’m waiting…

to chr335
No mistake

in the math class I took 19 does not equal 22

to chr335
sorry hit the enter key prematurly...

in the math class I took 19 does not equal 22, but this fellow keeps taking the extreme levels of everything. He sees only the 16 year olds and ignores the 18 year olds. Plus, if he defines child the same as Maxine Waters then Monica was a "child" when the affair started.

So when he makes his post, Monica who was involved from age 19 to 22 is now only 22. (grooming anyone?)

Dear r0_d2
Thank you for proving Starr's point.

You approve of the actions when they weren't against the law, and disaprove of the actions when they are illegal.

Thus you have no principles. You simply look at legalities.

Republicans disapproved of the actions all along. Regardless of the legalities.

Note: Foley has resigned. Because Republicans forced him to resign.

So you confuse legalities with moralities. The truth is you have only one principle - "Republicans=Wrong"

So when Republicans compare Fruit and Fruit you claim that a Fruit can become a Vegitable when the law says so. (See Tomatos)

Still waiting for your support for the Boy Scouts!

P.S. it was James Carvelle who said Monica was 19, see the Sunday Shows from last week.

Ms. Parker - There is no difference
between republicans and Democrats. The "Power of the People" has been hijacked by politicans greasing their own pockets. Republicans have not made us safer, they only have spent more money of TSA and homeland security. What a farce, you take airport security people, hire them as government workers, give them a 100% raise and we should feel safe. We are lucky the British caught the terrorists this summer.

Republicans have outspent the Democrats by 100%. The budget would have been balanced except for the continual spending increases.

Our borders are wide open. What worse harm can Speaker Polosi do??? We failed in Vietnam because politicans were running the war. Now that Iraq is caught in the cross hairs, the politicans again are running the war. Republicans have the power and don't do anything with it. This cowards are appeasing the democrats and offending me and others who have voted for them.

Now tell me again, why I should vote Republican as my republicans have failed me.

P.S. Kimberly never responds to a challenge, so you are wasting your fingers.

r0_d1
It doesn't matter how old Monica was, or if Hillary cared. Who cares what she thinks, her view is not relevent. Bill Clinton shamed America by abusing power to seduce a volunteer intern. It's about liberals selective outrage over social issues. That's the big picture & point. It's your point a child molester who seduces a kid online and arranges a meeting would be ok in your mind because if the kid 17, 16 showed up it would be consentual. That's sick. Studds had sex with an underage Page from the page program. He broke rules of the House and was censured as he got his three standing ovations of approval from Democrats. And then was elected to five more terms. That's the point. It doesn't matter what the age was in '83. I don't think the parents of the boy who was molested by studds would agree that he did nothing wrong. These are underage kids in a program. When the House Ethics Committee finishes then we'll know. You said prove it, no cover up has been proven on either side as the investigation is not concluded.

It is not Sex, Stupid
Republicans are in trouble because they have been just as liberal as the Democrats. Foley got caught and resigned. Now the Republicans are in damage control. What about Nortth Korea, Iraq and Iran. No one cares. We are self distructing because we are being robbed blind by our congressmen and all the pork going around.

WAKE UP. Foley is a distraction.

r0_d2
you are starting to sound like your predessor...
click,beep, bobop, beep

Dear r0-d2
At no time have I ever insulted you or called you names.

yet you insist upon the personal attacks.

I have disagreed with you and I have criticized your methods, yet I have never stooped to personal attacks.

Your personal attacks are not appreciated and from this point forward you do not exist to me. Since you cannot engage in civil discourse I discount everything you say.
Especially about the coverup that has never been proved.

Anyway since you lack the civility and good manners that republican familys instill I shall cease and desist in any further conversation.

Perhaps one day you will learn some manners, but until then I shall pity you.

Cat trapper and r0_d2
The Democrats just love the cat fighting over Clinton's escapdes and Foley's IM's. That keeps everything important off the newspapers. When did he know what, and what did he do.

1. Spending is out of control.
2. Democrats are lying about the fair tax and no one is calling them on it.
3. North Korea is threating again, setting off a nuclear bomb.
4. Economy is doing great, why are not the Republicans tooting their horn.
5. Judges - Why are the Republicans allowing the Democrats to continue to hold up Judical appts. What happened to the nuclear response?

Republicans cannot organize a picnic without being critizied. Democrats are setting the agenda and the Republicans only comment is, "If you don't elect us, you will get Speaker Polosi". That is so weak.

Monica Topic
Nobody cared that Clinton has sex with Monica (opps - I consider a BJ as sex). The issue was President Clinton Lied under oath. He lied so that a woman could not get a fair trial. He gave up his law license and paid a $100,000 fine.

Interesting isn't it the comparison between Foley and Clinton. THERE IS NO COMPARISON. Foley did not purjure himself, President Clinton did. President Clinton had sex with an intern. Foley talked about it. Foley had the good sense to resign. Clinton gave us the finger and stayed.

Yeah, they are similar, yes they are politicans.

r0_d2 - Standard Democratic Defense
Name calling and raising the decible level, that always works. Respond to my post above, Monica Topic, show me where my logic is not correct. What name will you call me?

r0_d1diot
You keep touting those links that mean nothing. Those aren't proof of anything. In polygamist communities the under age girls sometimes say they are in love with their offenders does that make it right? NO.

Your point has consistently been that Studds was well within his rights to seduce a Page from a program wherein kids come to Washington to learn about government. Duh. It's not OK DUH! That's the difference between you San Fran Liberals and conservatives.

The Ethics committee is bi-partisan.

I know you are not gone
But if you are I ran you off.

Foley will not decide November.

There is a difference between Rs and Ds
Scandlalized Rs resign. Ds get re-elected.

I think Foley should resign...
Oh, he did? Then why are we still talking about this?

Here's the bottom line (r0-d2 listen up):

With notable exceptions, Republicans are generally more conservative, more traditional, more likely to adhere to traditional moral values.

With notable exceptions, Democrats are generally less conservative, less traditional, less likely to adhere to traditional moral values.

Your vote on election day will determine which direction our society will drift.

Gurky
why do you adress me in the same post with that chattering robot?

rO
Again, I'll say it ....you talk too much...empty up there..... and every time you post, you sound more idiotic. Spin??? You are the "spinner". Watch O'O'Rielly.. Stop spitting at the computer. Find a nice place to take a rest.

Kimberly
The use of illegal drugs impairs cognitive functions.

Ms. Parker

You're a critic of African-Americans not opening their eyes to the hypocrisy and damaging effects of being self-destructively loyal to the Democratic party and staying on the Liberal plantation thereby being ignored as an electorate.

Now you're asking conservatives to stay on the Republican plantation, you're funny.

Or I guess maybe you mean that given a choice between skipping to Gomorrah (the Democrats) and strolling to Gomorrah, I should pick the latter because it affords a more leisurely view of the sights.

No, thanks, I choose to be loyal to ideas not to a party.

Kimberly
I quote from the website you provided

"This article contains assertions without appropriate source citations, such as websites and publications affiliated with the subject of the article. You can help dKosopedia by including appropriate citations. "

Assertions not facts

From the Democrats with love—
Let's see the Democrats gave us Diane Feinstein dancing with trans-sexuals in the San Francisco Gay Pride parade.
They gave us a President who was too busy having sex with his young intern to go after the terrorists that already attempting to blow up the World Trade center.
They gave us a liberal Supreme Court that seeks to take God out of every facet of American life.
So now because of one man's sick behavior, we are supposed to toss the entire Republican Party from Washington?
The Republican Party needs to quit cowering like a bunch of whipped puppies and bring the election's focus back to those issues that are of critical importance—like border security, immigration policy, the new nuclear threat, and terrorism.
On 9-11, the World Trade Centers were brought down by terrorists using our own planes as weapons. Isn't anyone else amazed that through largely Republican efforts, five years have gone by without another major attack?
I say Bravo Republicans!

Need for TownHall to Limit Responses
The above discussion, like so many of the others on TownHall, seems to have degenerated into a small group of insiders shouting at each other and largely off topic. I wonder if the substantial content of these comments might not be significantly improved by limiting each e-mail address to one response (and perhaps one of limited length - say, 2000 characters). That way posters are forced to get to their point, be as persuasive as they know how, and refrain from wasting their message allowance on mere name-calling.

So far I have heard all the accusations, gueses, hopes and dreams about the Foley incident.

Let's recap.

- He wrote overly friendly emails to male pages.
- He sent IM's to former pages that were more strongly worded than the emails.
- He met a former page in San Diego when that former page was of legal drinking age.
- Pages knew he was gay and had fun leading him on through the emails. They printed some of them out to share with each other.
- Somebody had copies of the IM's for a few years without releasing them.
- When the IM's were made public Foley immediately retired.
- The release of the IM's gave the appearance of being timed to influence an election.
- CREW provided redacted copies of the emails to the FBI and refused to provide originals or their source.
- A year ago, when the parents of one of the former pages who had received emails complained, Foley was approached and told to stop.
- When Hastert found out about the IM's he sent a letter to Justice requesting an investigation.
- The matter was referred to House Ethics for investigation. Their investigation appears to be looking into what actions the speaker took.
- Pelosi objected to an independent investigator being appointed by the house.
- As of the time I am writing this I have not yet heard of sexual encounter between Foley and an under aged male, page or otherwise.
- As of the time I am writing this I have not yet heard of an email or IM sent to an under aged male, page or otherwise, requesting or suggesting a sexual encounter.

Now, I read the DC laws you sited repeatedly. In order to get an indictment you would need more than the emails I am aware of. One of them is the law and the others are enhancements to be used in the sentencing phase, similar to being arrested with a firearm when you sold drugs to an undercover narc. In order to get an indictment you would have to have IM's, from Foley to an under age page, current or former, requesting, coaxing or suggenting a meeting for a sexual encounter or promising to use his power to advance, or impede, a male page in exchange for sex.

In order to get a conviction you would probably need more than what I listed in the previous paragraph. Foley would at the very least have to follow through, like be at the appointed meeting place at the appointed time. The overt act in furtherance of the crime.

Foley has retired, he's gone. The FBI now has the IM's and will conduct their investigation and determine, in conjunction with a Federal Prosecutor, if a crime has been committed. Nobody is protecting him or his right to be a Scout Master. The only thing people object to is someone running off at the keyboard who doesn't appear to be paying attention to what anybody else says.

Try easing off the cafine and you will get much more respect here.

To anybody else reading this, if I made a mistake in my listing or forgot something, please advise me. It bothers me to be incorrect.

I'm certain there is no spelling error
I live in the Seattle Area (Espresso Microbrew capital of the world) and the term wired is quite normal and called for in the context of his first sentence. [note the a not o in the word capital]

anyway

Wired = had too much coffee with caffeine.

Weird = strange, odd, different

[i before e except after c or when the sound is a or in the word weird]

so lets check;

Please start drinking decaf, you are enirely too wired.

vs.

Please start drinking decaf, you are enirely too weird.

sorry but wikapeida not good source
"Links that mean nothing. Those aren't proof of anything."

Not to you, but the one on DC law that proves anyone involved broke the law, even without proving sex, might be important to all those fingerpointing. You think.

yes but your links are from Wikapeida and you need somthing a little more acredited then that i am afraid and any one can write stuff on wikiapeida no way to know if it is correct. Best to have at least three sources in agreement to be considered a good fact in my book

You're right!
I haven't read much about David Scondras: A Boston Massachusetts Democratic former city councilman was arrested in a sting for soliciting sex from someone who he thought was 15 years old. The Republicans are getting beat up about the page scandal, but I'm not hearing much about a 60 year old man saying that 'prejudice exists against men who like to have sex with young boys.' This comes from police taperecording. Anyway I think this story has legs and ought to be explored.

WHAT’S WRONG WITH GEORGE BUSH?

Forget the Democrats; what’s wrong with George Bush? First and foremost, our President is not a rational thinker – his mind accepts information from only two sources: faith and experience. For example, he learned the "the enemy will follow us here" from Vietnam and the Domino Theory: “If we don’t defeat the communists in Vietnam, then we’ll have to fight them here in America.” Now just insert “terrorists” and “Iraq” into the one lesson Bush learned from Vietnam.

Because Bush is not rational (strictly empirical and subjective), objective facts and evidence such as the latest National Intelligence Estimate (NIE) are meaningless to this anachronistic man of several millennia ago. “STAY THE failed COURSE” is all that’s possible.
