Will the Dems' health care Christmas Present to America be an improvement or detriment to our health care system?

The executive director of MoveOn Political Action Committee did a victory dance on the opinion page of The Washington Post. He called Ned Lamont's defeat of Sen. Joe Lieberman in the Connecticut primary a "watershed moment" and Lamont's "principled progressivism" the "bold" new direction for the country.

But as is clear today, in the wake of the massive terrorist plot uncovered in London, had the primary been held a week later, Lamont would be history. Even detached Connecticut Democrats would have remembered that it was the terrorists of 9/11 that defined our "watershed moment," not a rich Northeastern dilettante.

Consider Lamont's victory speech, him standing up there flanked by the Revs. Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton. That visual alone was sufficient to tell us that what had occurred in Connecticut was a quirky flight from reality and not a defining moment in U.S. history.

The big theme of the contest was Iraq _ foreign policy.

Exactly one year ago, last August, as Hurricane Katrina was thundering toward New Orleans, Jesse Jackson was in Venezuela embracing and singing the praises of President Hugo Chavez, whom even rock star Bono called a "power hungry tyrant."

The following month, Jackson appeared along with Chavez in New York City, holding him and his country up as an example that the United States should follow.

"(The Venezuelan) government's priorities are to invest in its people. They subsidize oil, gas, health care and education and that's civil. We cannot subsidize our oil and education because we are investing in tax cuts for the wealthy and a war that does not make sense in Iraq. We need new values; we need to go another way."

Freedom House, a highly respected, non-partisan organization which promotes democracy and freedom around the world, ranks countries on a scale of 1 to 7, 1 being most free. The United States ranks 1. Venezuela ranks 4.

Freedom House also ranks countries by press freedom. Out of 194 countries ranked (No. 1 being most free), the United States is 17, Venezuela 158.

Chavez recently visited Iran, embraced their maniac president, Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, and equated Israelis to Nazis.

This gives us some idea of Jesse Jackson's global vision, which, given his prominence on the stage with Lamont, gives us some sense of where Lamont is coming from.

This defines where Americans want to go? You've got to be kidding.

The Jackson-Sharpton team-up also tells us something. There never has been much love lost between the two. Jackson, you might recall, refused to endorse Sharpton's presidential bid in 2004.

However, the two leaders pair up now because the far left, where they sow their oats, and where, of course, Ned Lamont and MoveOn.org think this country wants to go, is losing, not gaining, ground.

For increasing numbers of blacks, the Lamont-MoveOn-Jackson-Sharpton far left message is all "been there, done that." Black America is moving away from, not toward, this.

When Jackson ran for president in 1984 and 1988, he made inroads. In 1984 he won five primaries, in 1988 he won 11. By contrast, Sharpton, in his pathetic campaign in 2004, garnered a grand total of 26 delegates, 1 percent of what's needed for nomination. He couldn't even get 10 percent of the vote in South Carolina, where Jackson was victorious, with its heavy concentration of black voters.

The title of a new book by National Public Radio journalist Juan Williams, not exactly one of the names that gets dropped when folks talk about black conservatives, sums up the state of affairs: "Enough: The Phony Leaders, Dead-End Movements and Culture of Failure That Are Undermining Black America _ And What We Can Do About It."

Michael Barone of U.S. News & World Report points out that Lieberman captured the vote in cities across Connecticut, such as Stamford, where "there are still sizeable blue-collar and black communities." These are what Barone calls the "lunch bucket working class," who can't afford to lose touch with reality.

I've been writing for years about the need for a viable Democratic Party. The success and future of this country depends on solid debate and exchange of real ideas.

This is exactly what we are not getting and what is driving much of the voter dissatisfaction that we're seeing in the polls. There is just so long we can go on with only one party generating ideas and the other saying "No."

The Connecticut primary amounted to a dangerous retreat into fantasyland, not a steppingstone for the future. It's in the interest of the nation and of the Republican Party that an empty, bankrupt Democratic Party get its act together.

Blah, Blah,Blah!!!! Babble, Babble, Babble!!!
Hey, Hey, Hey!!! Hundreds of years ago???? I'M POUNDING REALLY HARD ON THE KEYBOARD!!!! Maybe some more exclamation points will convince them!!! Blacks never kill out of hate like whitey!!!! I'm oppressed!!!!

Black in the US Insptie of Republicans
The facts are that neither party, the Democrats nor the Reblicans, do absolutely anything for African Americans!!!

Those that remember when Eisenhowser was president, a young boy by the name of Emmitt Tell was murdered by a group of white racist, thug, hoodlums!!! Tell's crime was that he had whistled at a white woman...and he was beaten to death, pistol whipped, and thrown into the Mississppi River! Thirteen years young and the death penalty for poor conduct!!!

Blacks cried out to the Justice Department and Eisenhowser for the proper reaction to this sick crime! They knew that African American service to the war effort and U.S. Constitution would provide a just response to this murder!!! What did General Eisenhowser do...why Ike just lifted his skirts and ran away from his presidential responsibility! I am certainly glad that his courage did't abandon him during WW II, as it did in the White House!

Likewise, Regan, whom so many conservatives revere...when it was time for him to deal with issues of civil rights...what did he do? Why he added a little ditty to the civil rights bill that one had to prove that it was the mental intent of the defendants to do injury to the complaining party!

What's wrong with that...we don't have prove what the mental intent of terrorist are...we only have to demonstrate that if their plans are carried out...it will result in some type of destruction, and especially the loss of life!!! Never mind that that is their accepted means of spreading Islam!!!!

Why do we hold terrorists to a higher standard than we do for Americans who claim to believe in the tenents of our U.S. Constitution??? They both destroy lives...don't they?? However, conservatives are of the belief that as long as a person is able to walk around and continue to conduct metabolism that descrimination doesn't destroy lives???!!! So much for the very shining moments of the Republican Party!!!

And the Democrats who only claim that they would be fighting tooth an nail for civil rights of African Americans...if they could only get back into controling power of the Federal Govenment...well they sure do a really great job on behalf of babykillers AKA abortion/murder rights crowd, as well as the homosexual rights [which are not only wrong, but an absolute abomination to the Living God, ELOHIM] movement!

So what is the difference? The Democrats still have a track record for doing something right in face of tremendous odds! While the Republicans have the 'skirt-lifters' in the legacy of both Eisenhowser and Regan!!! Personally, I have voted a spilt ticket for decades!

'African Americans have no right[s] that a white man need recognize...', as was once enunciated by the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court, under the Administration of Abraham Lincoln...strange how things really don't change that much!!!!

Just saw your note to me.... Thanks for the kudo!

You seem to have been around these TH halls for a while. I am a mere novice, but it IS amazing how quickly one can pick out intelligent discourse vs the usual drivel of the DNC talking points.

Nice chatting with you!

Flag,
"It is time to stop trying to convert the dyed in the wool old Dems and go after the younger crowd, they hold the keys to the future of the GOP's acceptance by the black community."

Of course you're right. I think that's a good stategy in general.

Had you heard of Juan Williams? Interesting article on him and Cosby by Joseph H. Brown (The link is all the way down at the bottom, first post).

Man, I love
this site. After a long day's work, it was great reading all the posts. Reagan. Jesus. Guns. Jesus and guns. This place has it all.

Brian, DocNoleCat - loved the WWJP posts.

Great post, it couldn't have been better stated.
The change may be slow, but I believe that it is slowly coming; Blacks are not going to be fooled forever. And it is not to be dismissed lightly the contributions that Michael Steele and Lynn Swann are making to the effort to change some black minds about the GOP. These men have more influence than maybe even they know, and I am convinced that their success and the support shown them by the party is opening some eyes. It is time to stop trying to convert the dyed in the wool old Dems and go after the younger crowd, they hold the keys to the future of the GOP's acceptance by the black community.

UBL
For those who think we're not fighting the WOT because we haven't captured Usama bin Laden, let me remind you that he likely is in Pakistan. We can't go into Pakistan without undermining the authority of its leader, General Pervez Musharraf. We need him in power for now, as evidenced by the foiled plot to bomb airliners.

Primus54

I think you were spot on with your response to Dick. He seems to have the same M.O. as a blogger named Ricky, who recently exhumed the tired old Moonbat yarn; UBL has been captured and they (the sinister forces of Bush) are going to reveal him to the world at a time for maximum Republican political advantage.

Either he was working from dated DNC talking points or he was premature; you can make book the Moonbats will be posting this tale ad nauseam come mid-term.

Hey Bigbelly,
are you sure you didn't have that meeting bugged? What you wrote reads like a conversation that might have actually taken place between those opportunistic fleas. That was a funny post.

Sammy, it pains me to acknowledge that you are probably correct in stating that blacks overwhelmingly vote the Democratic ticket. I have refused to vote for a Democrat since the 1970s, and have been trying to reason with friends and relatives about the error of monolithic voting for that Party. It is slow work.

My daughter has slowly begun to acknowledge that the Democratic Party is not helpful to our people. There are a couple of friends who show signs of beginning to question their automatic voting for the Democratic ticket.

This blind allegience has its roots in the Civil Rights Movement. Liberal whites marched with MLK and his associates. They were beaten and even killed in some instances. Just like some black activists at that time.

It was not recognized that some of those white allies were Communists. Many of them were Jewish. Today the hostility of leftist Jews to Israel causes great concern to Jews who support the continued survival of the Jewish State. It was also not understood that those Communists had an ulterior motive for supporting the struggle for equal treatment under law for blacks. Embarrassing America in front of the world was also a goal. It worked on several levels.

For one thing the blatant racism and the glaring hypocracy of America was highlighted. Everyone could see that "With libery and justice for all" was a ridiculous claim for a nation to make that enforced Jim Crow law on its black, tax paying citizens. That reality gave Stalinsts a real edge in presenting itself as a better choice for people, especially black people, to prefer Russia over America.

America's children have been subjected to "social engineering" for decades that has degraded their respect for this country. That is certainly a factor in the way blacks vote, because current perceptions about America have been formed by that engineering. Blacks as victims is relentlessly underlined by the leftist educational system.

From revisionist history books, through brainwashed teachers and university faculty, to the media, especially TV, young Americans have been taught that America is not a country to be proud of. Black people have been convinced that nothing has changed in racial matters since Bull Conner was turning firehoses and German Sheppard attack dogs on Civil Rights activists. It is a ludicrous notion, but don't forget that there are a lot of dumbed down Americans today.

Yes Sammy, you are probably right. Blacks will probably be voting for Democrats for a long time to come. I can not allow that to prevent me from doing every thing I can to change that. The loonies who voted for Lamont in CT may have helped me. The farther left these people go, the better the chance that they will drive voters, black and white, away from the Democratic Party.

Also consider the distinct possibility that a lot of black registered Democrats voted for Bush in 2004. Homosexual marriage was too much for them to swallow. I remember the anger in the black community when homosexual activists first linked themselves to the struggle for black civil rights. that resentment is still there. I will use it.

Those Communists, who today have rejected the Communist label, but have evolved into the so called far left, have also convinced black people that Republicans and conservatives are racists who do nothing except devise ways to keep them down. I have noticed that this is a belief that does not survive challenge.

When I question blak Democrats about why they always vote for Democrats there is frequently an embarrases silence. Recently, when I challanged a friend by asking why he couldn't tell me why he was a Democrat, he finally blurted out that he wasn't a Democrat, he was an Independent. It is tragic that by charatans like Jackson and Sharpton. It is also bolstered by Democratic politicians, some of whom are barely able to conceal their own racism. Their portayal of Condeliza Rice in mammy head dress, and Joe Lieberman in blackface are revealing

Gentlemen:

I'll second BrianR, Great stuff!

It would appear there's a consensus; Jesus packs more heat than the Libs care to acknowledge.

And Ronnie was one great President.

You guys are killing me! LOL
Great stuff on the Gip, and the jokes.

"WWJP"? That's great! I've got to get a lapel pin made with those initials.

Jimmy...

Thanks for the joke!

Is this where we reminisce?
Ronaldus Magnus: There was a man in the Soviet Union who wanted a car. So, he found out it would be 3000 rubles. So, he and his family scatched, scrimped, and saved for years until they finally had the money. He went to the Soviet Bureau of Automobiles to purchase the car. He went to department after department after department for weeks signing hundreds of papers upon hundreds of papers. Then finally the last step was taken and he asked the lady when he could pick up his automobile. She told him 10 years. He asked her, "Morning or evening?" She asked, " What difference does it make?" He said,"The plumber is coming in the evening."

R.I.P.

Thanks Cutter
I thought I'd heard or read most everything ever written about Ron, but that story was a first for me.

His action in that situation doesn't surprise me one iota.

God bless Ronald Reagan and God bless the USA!

Thanks for sharing, Cutter!

Primus54/BrianR

I miss Ronnie too...

My favorite Reagan story is when he was asked to meet with some blind children, while Govenor of California. He asked that they be brought to his trailer, not wanting to make them or his time with them a press spectacle. Realizing they could not see him, he asked if they wanted to touch his face, which they in fact did.

What a testimonial to him and the content of his character...

What Would Jesus Pack?

Dick Tuck asks, "NRAlifer, what kind of handgun would Jesus use?"

Brian R responded wittily, "Jesus was a traditionalist, So I suspect his handgun of choice would be dependable "Old Slabsides", a 1911 .45ACP."

Of course as the Word Incarnate, Jesus himself needs no firearm (as Cutter Bench notes). However, he did instruct his followers, in Luke 22:36, to purchase the military-standard offensive personal weapon of his day. Thus, based on this verse, BrianR would seem to offer a valid exegesis. Of course it would be even more traditionalist to carry a revolver -- but certainly this falls in the realm of theology in which there can be difference without heresy.

And, to BrianR & Primus54 -- I too miss President Reagan. I rue the fact that I was a naive college kid from a family of New Deal Democrats during his time in office, so I did not appreciate him until long after he left office. Youth, indeed, is wasted on the young...

BrianR
You wrote: "God, I miss Ron!"

Me too....

He had a quality few men possess. His sheer presence always reminded me of the kind doctor who could walk into a patient's room and just make you KNOW everything would work out right... "comforting" is close but inadequate as a description.

Whenever our lefties out there start to wear on me a little, all I have to do is visit a few Reagan sites, read his quotes, catch a few pictures... and "voila!"... all's right again!

Primus re: The Gip
Oh, man, I was watching "Santa Fe Trail" (I think it was) last week with Errol Flynn and the Gip.

God, I miss Ron!

To Mr Tree Hugger
I want to compliment you (at least for now, :-) ) for writing and standing up for your beliefs, and especially for not resorting to the usual insults and name-calling typical of many left-leaning bloggers.

While we have fundamental differences of political opinion, I too note that for all the harping of most Dems against the war, few have attempted to cut off the funds without which it would end. I wonder if that is political expediency of simply a true lack of conviction. Or perhaps that is a difference without a distinction?

While I sincerely hope true antiwar politicians are defeated, I do appreciate the few who truly say what they mean and mean what they say. There are several Rhinos on my side that could use a dose of this...

N_Idaho_SOB

I like your thinking... When do we get started?

NRAlifer:

As a Christian I get tired of the hearing the Liberal pantywaist version of Jesus. The world has been so conditioned by the glam shot, soft-focus Jesus imagery that they have somehow convinced themselves that he is made in their image and likeness. If Jesus should return in Dick’s lifetime, Dicky-Boy won’t have to pull out the blonde, blue-eyed Jesus picture from his wallet and say, “Oh, look Janie it’s Jesus!”

“I saw heaven standing open and there before me was a white horse, whose rider is called Faithful and True. With justice he judges and makes war. His eyes are like blazing fire, and on his head are many crowns. He has a name written on him that no one knows but he himself. He is dressed in a robe dipped in blood, and his name is the Word of God. The armies of heaven were following him, riding on white horses and dressed in fine linen, white and clean. Out of his mouth comes a sharp sword with which to strike down the nations. He will rule them with an iron scepter. He treads the winepress of the fury of the wrath of God Almighty. On his robe and on his thigh he has this name written: KING OF KINGS AND LORD OF LORDS. — Revelation 19:11-16 NIV

Gun? The world has not seen anyone or anything that compares with the likes of the WARRIOR JESUS.

detatchment
Dear Star,

Since your comments show that you are clearly detached from the meaning of the Connecticut Primary from a Dem perspective, please allow me to demonstrate the true meaning from our opposing view.

I would give kudos to OSAGE, who commented on the problems currently common to both parties. I concur.

Many of us Dems are not happy with our Status Quo Dem elected officials who take our votes for granted simply based on our voter registration. WE do not believe we should be funding this war. We do not believe it is possible to end a war by funding a war. Sen Lieberman wants to fund anything that has the perecption of showing strength regardless if the programs are effective or not.

I know, your reaction will that that of the success to uncovering the the new liquid bombs airline plot as justification for the entire war in Iraq. Of course we are happy these dasterdly ploys are uncovered and stopped before they occur. Everyone is for ending criminal activity. Terrosiam falls into that. But we believe there is a grotesque disconnect between uncovering terrorit plots and chosing full scale war in Iraq. We can not condone the loss of tens of thousands innocent unintended casualties of Iraqi men and woman who are caught in the cross fire of our chosen war. Your side asks if I forgotten 911. Of course not, But have you forgotten God? inn

Too many elected Dems say this war is wrong but continue to fund it. We want Dems who are willing to stand up to any status quo because the status quo is not working. Sen Lieberman was but the first to go.

all the best

If it is okay to chime in... I too like "Constructionist". Perhaps "RE-Constructionist" is more accurate, but too many letters to type!

I just spent some time at a couple of sites with a plethora of Ronald Reagan quotes. Anybody but me miss the deep feeling of patriotism and purpose he brought to our great land? R.I.P. "Gipper"!

NorthIdaho_SOB: How about...

BTW, could you have possibly chosen a more difficult handle to type?

Dick Tuck: Jesus was a traditionalist,
So I suspect his handgun of choice would be dependable "Old Slabsides", a 1911 .45ACP.

Hope that helps.

Rightmindedmom: Excellent point!
Liberals are embarrassed to use the term "liberal" in describing themselves. I'm not ashamed to call myself a conservative; as a matter of fact, I'm proud of it.

I guess that says it all.

And for you lefties out there, don't try to tack on the prefix "neo". I've been conservative my whole life; nothing "neo" about it.

MISSING THE BIG PICTURE
The days of straight party voting are/should be a way of the past. The Moveon political action committee however are so overly bent on supporting the left that they are letting what's occurring in the political world go right over their heads, as appears to be what's happening throughout the Democratic party. With both major political parties basically in a state of disarray and being surrounded with world events that are leading to or suggesting a possibility of a World War Three could be in the near future, voters need to start waking up and voting out of office politicians who have been in office way to long and have already contributed to the scary situation we are faced with at this very moment.
Heads Need To Roll LLC

Response to Dick Tuck
I cannot understand why posters such as yourself only seem to see the "War on Terror" as merely rooting out the terrorists or finding UBL. Even in the "utopian" worlds of Islam / Socialism / Communism... you cannot buy weapons to commit terrorist acts without money. You cannot "train" for these acts without a place to train. You cannot control the propaganda of the terrorists without willing dupes and so-called political "leaders" in the nations sympathetic to the Islamofascists.

This is what "state-sponsored" means... and is why the WOT in much MORE than killing terrorists or finding UBL.

And as to your last couple of sentences: "this is what Bush should have done when he received an intellegence report that was titled, "Bin Laden To Attack America".

Perhaps Bush wouldn't have had an intelligence report on UBL if the great Bill Clinton had taken him in custody when offered by Sudan? Ever think about that?

NRAlifer
NRAlifer, what kind of handgun would Jesus use?

The fact remains that George Bush diverted limited resources away from the war on terror for the folly in Iraq. The fact remains that Scotland Yard broke this case using good old police work. This is what Bush should have done when he received an intellegence report that was titled, "Bin Laden To Attack America".

Dick

Does your Mommy know you're posting on the blogosphere?

The London Plot...
The London Plot was foiled by good police work and human intellegence. It wasn't foiled by an invasion of Scotland. Stay the Course is a stupid strategy, and does nothing to help us avert the kind of attack that we saw after George Bush took office.

Thanks for the comment. Your aunt and my sister should meet. I pray daily for my sister's enlightenment. She lives among a foreign society that once embraced Hitler. She's a Christian, however, so I hope that one day she sees the folly of her "progressive" views.

NRA lifer, BrianR, Flagwaver, you guys are all astute, articulate, and right on. I love reading Brian's and Flagwavers blogs. God bless you all.

Heady words, but how does one transcend present realities? Although a conservative I refuse to become a Republican lifer; simply because, in the words of Lord Acton, “Power tends to corrupt, and absolute power corrupts absolutely." And despite the fact I don’t like much of anything the present day Democrat Party represents (and nothing the Moveon.org crowd stands for) I still believe our two party system helps to prevent absolute corruption. How do you propose we maintain the balance of power and establish “viable means of electing the most qualified candidates to office,” that is, outside the framework of our present system?

I like FOWG’s line of thinking; dissolution of the Democrat Party and, “We as a nation could limp along with them (Republicans) until a real conservative party can be organized and challenge the incumbents.”

How would you go about implementing your premise?

Lamont
I`m not sure but it seems like Lamont has doubts about his winning. He seems to be like the kid who wrote a term paper and someone finds out he actuall copied it word for word and is trying to defend it as his own.Its going to be the most interesting contest in November. Doesn`t matter about all the rest. When on television he seems afraid.

Show Me the Evidence
"For increasing numbers of blacks, the Lamont-MoveOn-Jackson-Sharpton far left message is all "been there, done that." Black America is moving away from, not toward, this."

I've heard a lot of talk about this idea that Black America is somehow embracing the conservative message and moving politically in that direction. The only problem is that besides a few ancedotal Black Republican candidates and executive branch appointments, there is absolutely no statistical evidence showing Black Americans pulling the Republican lever at the voting booth. I suppose that when you have a demographic so overwhelmingly grouped (well in excess of 90%) to one side there is really only one direction for things to go, but is it really reasonable to hope or assume that Black Americans will ever embrace conservative thought in numbers even approaching 50%? I sure don't think so.

This article paints a picture just a little too bleak for the Democrats while ignoring the pathetic state of the Republican Party and it's leftward lurch that has left conservatives angered, uninspired, and dejected. I'm getting a little sick and tired of all of the insider-beltway columinsts with pseudo conservative credentials spewing out articles about how the Democratic fringe is destroying and marginalizing their party. Maybe there's some truth to it all, but it just hits me as a little incomplete given the equally poor foundation of the Republican Party. I find it a lot more pernicious that the leadership within the Republican Party has abandoned it's conservative roots and embraced big government, uncontrolled spending, political correctness, illegal immigrants, earmarks, steel tariffs, education bills, etc. etc. The real story is not just that the Democratic Party continues to lurch leftward, but that the Republican Party has decided to follow.

osage
Osage is very close to the truth.
My fantasy is the "Domestic Enemies of the Constitution" continue to fragment and ultimatly disolve which leaves us with the the Republicans. We as a nation could limp along with them until a real conservative party can be organized and challenge the encumbants. Then there would be real hope for the republic.

Lefties always 're-defining' themselves
Has ANYONE noticed that lefties are always making up new words for our consumption? ie: Liberals are "progressives", conservatives are "neocons". They even have CONFERENCES to figure out what they believe! They have to "inject spiritualism" into their debates because they don't have any spiritualism to begin with. These are socialists who don't want to be called socialits -- or even liberals anymore. Why not call yourselves what and who you are, socialist/liberals, and be proud of it. Then you can move to Germany or France, where over 50% of your paychecks are taken out for social programs. I know. My sister lives in Germany. She's a 60's hippie that never grew up, but she seems happy in her socialist society.

Fish Tale
Jesse and Al are like Remoras. Those fish that swim around next to the shark's mouth hoping for some dinner as the shark feeds. I was going to say those two were like Lampreys but the main distinction is that a Lamprey actually attatches itself to the host with it's sucker mouth and thusly can be called a parasite.
Not so with Jesse and Al. Those two are not quite parasites. They are simply opportunistic little fish that swim around the food source (TV cameras and anybody they are pointed at), and when stock in that shark they were following begin begin to fall; they simply swim away.

Viability?
We do not necessarily need a ‘viable democrat party’ - or a viable republican party for that matter. What we do need is a viable means of electing the most qualified candidates to office. ‘Most qualified’, in this context, means the ones best able to balance between the needs of the country and the wants of the people while ignoring their own personal ‘needs’ and quest for power.

Both parties have become so focused on acquiring and keeping power that they seem incapable of ‘solid debate and exchange of real ideas’. Until they regain that capability, they are a detriment to the system.

Premature Victory Celebration by Lefties
Isn't Lieberman leading Lamont in the polls for November's general election? Who says Lamont is going to be anything other than a "flash in the pan"?

There was a third wingnut on the stage with Lamont not mentioned, in addition to Jesse "Shakedown" Jackson and Al "Tawana Brawley Hoax" Sharpton: Kim Gandy, Feminazi Maximum Leader.

So Lamont is not only for socialism, but infanticide as well.

Sunday Morning Talk Shows
If one woke up on Sunday morning after a 3 year nap and listened to the breathless platitudes about Ned Lamont one would have thought he was the second coming instead of some millionaire that bought a primary and hopefully a Senate seat. Wonder what Eli Pariser will say when then man that epitomizes all the ideals of the liberal left gets beat by an independent with no party affiliation?

Star:

I agree with your premise, "about the need for a viable Democratic Party." And that, "The success and future of this country depends on solid debate and exchange of real ideas."

I've even held out hope, believing that what happened in Connecticut was an anomaly, but after reading the recent Zogby poll, where 4 out of 5 likely Democrat voter's polled agreed with the Lieberman flush, "Fantasyland" seems to be a fitting moniker for the Democrat party.

Pitiful
After all the nasty tricks and lies Lamont used to get elected, the people of Connecticut who voted for him deserve him. Unfortunately, he will be going to Washington where everyone will have to put up with his rancid brand of racism and leftist propoganda. If principled progressiveness includes pictures of Lieberman in blackface or on his knees in front of the president and lying about not knowing anything about blogging after blogging, then I would say Lamont fits the bill to a tee. I would never want to be labeled a principle progressive.

I can only roll my eyes when I hear the names Jackson and Sharpton included in the mix. You have to know you are on the wrong side of the fence when they come to your aid in an election.

The Chavez mention
The mention of Hugo Chavez and his embrace by the left bears serious watching. The man is a menace and could become a real threat to our security if left unchecked.

BTW: I have a post about Chavez at my blog called "The Fox in the Henhouse". Feel free to drop by and check it out. All visitors and comments are welcomed!

Cyne, thanks again
Everyone, check Cyne's too; it's a riot.

Jesse Jackson. Talk about a guy who's marginalized himself. He and Al Sharpie.
