Poll
Was the Copenhagen Global Warming Summit Walk-Out a Win for the U.S.?

Five minutes after George Bush won re-election in 2004 and began talking about Social Security reform, the pundits lined up those Senate Republicans they expected to be in trouble in the 2006 midterm election.

Some things never change.

Five minutes after Barack Obama took the oath in January and began signing executive orders and expanding government, those same pundits began lining up the Senate Democrats they expect to be in trouble in 2010, Obama’s first midterm.

Historically, a president's party loses seats in Congress in midterm elections, so in theory, 2010 should favor the GOP. Yet it is hard to imagine the GOP making significant gains because most seats held by Democrats facing re-election are in states that "went Obama" in 2008.

Colorado is one state showing signs of a possible GOP pickup. Democrat Michael Bennet, appointed to replace former Sen. Ken Salazar when he became Interior secretary, has little name recognition.

“If Bennet is opposed by someone like Pete Coors, who almost beat Salazar in 2004, or popular former Gov. Bill Owens, that seat could easily go to the GOP,” said University of Arkansas political scientist Rob Maranto.

Villanova University professor Lara Brown thinks a good conservative Latino recruit like Loretta Sanchez would be a smart move for the Colorado GOP.

Two other possible GOP pickups are the seats of Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid of Nevada and Sen. Chris Dodd of Connecticut. Polling in those states has found both men on remarkably shaky ground.

Brown says Dodd’s connections to the AIG and Countrywide scandals make him vulnerable to a possible primary fight.

“An enterprising Democrat might decide that taking Dodd on would be good politics," she said, pointing to a "reformer-type, someone who will not be perceived as a corrupt politician."

The race gets more interesting if that happens because Dodd would have to pivot between his primary challenger and a GOP candidate.

Both of these seats offer the GOP opportunities. Yet unless a major voter backlash arises to the Democrats’ legislative agenda -- and if Democrats use the budget reconciliation to pass health-care reform, there may well be such a backlash -- Reid and Dodd still have substantial resources to eke out wins.

Sen. Evan Bayh, D-Ind., offers the GOP another opportunity -- maybe. Bayh is an amazing politician (he formed his own moderate-Democrat working group in the Senate) and could stave off a GOP attack.

Sen. Blanche Lincoln, D-Ark., is similarly positioned and, wisely, is doing similar things to keep her seat.

Then there is the curious case of Sen. Roland Burris in Illinois. According to Villanova’s Brown, the only way the GOP takes that seat is if Democrats form a "circular firing squad" and fracture their party in a bitter primary.

The primary in President Obama’s home state is early -- February 2010 -- giving Democrats plenty of time to regroup if they dump Burris.

The GOP has a “maybe” chance in New York with Hillary Clinton's old Senate seat, although her successor, Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand, is well-suited to the state -- an upstater who isn’t so heinously conservative that Manhattanites vote GOP. In reality, 2010 probably will not be a reverse of 2006 for Republicans; maybe they pick up one or two seats overall.

Brown thinks Obama's potential drag on Senate candidates will be based strictly on the economy: “Americans don't like being patient for economic growth. ... Economic prosperity is ideologically linked to freedom and opportunity.”

Any politicians who counsel voters to lower their expectations likely will find themselves on the wrong side of public opinion.

People may be patient for most of this year, but at some point Obama’s reservoir of goodwill will run dry. If his approval rating falls below 50 percent before March 2010, then he likely will drag down those Democrats running that November.

Promise Real Government Reform
If enough people are edified regarding the horrific abuses by our banking industry and how our government is currently contributing to the problem by allowing BANKERS TO BAIL OUT BANKERS, then the 2010 election will be about true government reform. WE have be the ones to spread the word and need for government reform.

http://activated.blogtownhall.com/

As if....
The big campaign coffers wont rescue those dirt bags Reid and Dodd from deserved defeat.

If only the voters were being educated outside of Democrat training grounds known as government schools.

I hope my rice paddy has some shade!

dream on. there's no way a republican will win a senate seat in illinois any time in the near future.

As the "Libs" continue on with their
tax and mega spending sprees, there will definitely be opportunities in the House and Senate for the GOP to regain seats. NOW is the time to plan and establish strategies in order to hit the ground running next year. Are you listening Michael Steele?

One hopes they'll give up the statism
One problem with the GOP is that they still prefer big government statism to remedy any and all social issues. Many find this incompatible with the limited government principles espoused by the party in every other area. Until this is addressed, I predict the GOP will continue to be a minority -- and perhaps regional -- party.

I updated my blog with more on this issue.

Loretta Sanchez?
"Villanova University professor Lara Brown thinks a good conservative Latino recruit like Loretta Sanchez would be a smart move for the Colorado GOP."

The Loretta Sanchez I know of, is a California Congressman. She has an interesting story. She was Loretta Bixby, but ran on her maiden name when the latino population of Orange County increased. She ran against ("B-1 Bob") Dornan and won by a margin smaller than the number of illegally registered felons and aliens who'd voted (Citizenship USA). The disputed election went to the House of Representatives and a Democratic majority seated one of their own.

Is their actually a challenger in Colorado with the exact same name?

Go righter
To succeed the GOP should really take a leaf out of the Taliban playbook, as suggested by one of their own.

No Likely
Of Course each election is different and the GOP might pick up a house seat or two because of the situations in those districts. Overall, it is unlikely that the GOP will see a turn around in the mid-terms. Obama remains popular and even the Democratics Congress is much more popular than the GOP. The effects of Bush Incompetence and GOP complicity was too great to be wiped out in one election.

PLus the GOP leadership has been having trouble holding its own party together. It has no plans to turn around the economy that would be popular with the American People and its increasingly radical ultra conservative base. That is why they offered no plan. Running simply as an opposition to Obama will not work.

What would there slogan be. Lets bring back the Bush/Cheney Policies.

The best they can hope for is to hold even and to keep their seats in very conservative districts by talking about god, gays, and guns.

Keep the change
Yea, keep attacking the Public Schools that most americans graduated from and have pride in. That's a real winning strategy.

Banking Reform from Republicans. LOL.

The Republicans had their banking reform it involved giving the banks more power to go after people who can't pay their credit card bills even if the reason was because they got sick or had a breadwinner off fighting in Iraq.

Those are your banking reformers.

jmo51, socialst enabler
the dims have won the last 2 election cycles and they have been a disaster for america but promised salvation for socialists like you who crave more gov't.

Pelousy and corrupt land deal promised to drain the so called swamp of corruption in congress, stop pork spending and put put congress on a pay as you go system

The results, pork spending grew and pelousy and corrupt land deal
eid added some $800 billion to the deficit.

Now these two clowns have passed the $700 billion with an additional $170 billion in pork, the massive porkzilla of $800 billion and the $400 billion supplemental with more promised spending to come.

So under dim leadership your party has added well over $2 trillion to the deficit with more promised $trillion deficits.

But if your dim heroes are so bright, where is the oversight. And are you ready for the massive tax increases that will be coming.

Seems your governor is promising those in ny state higher taxes as well. Seems the country is on the plan to the socialism you crave

Dhimms are balking
Even the two dim Reps from my area, Raul "superMex" Grijalva and Gabby "ain't I cute" Giffords are vacillating on some of Obama's ridiculous policies. I think they may have gotten a few tea bags recently.

If Jim Tedisco in NY is an example of what the GOP has to offer, weepublicans don't have much of a shot. He was weak starting out and now that he's gotten "religion," seems phony.

The only way we will slow this socialist Utopian juggernaut is for genuine people to step up and get involved. The chances of that happening is slim, as the dhimmicrat smear and slander machine will be quickly brought to bear, and who in their right mind would want that anal exam.

We have elected mostly 3 year olds to represent us in Washington. Their brains lack the ability to store info from 5 minutes ago, much less 5 years, so they are continually living in the moment, reacting only to what affects their "reality." Their purpose is not to serve us, but to serve themselves, constantly campaigning and fund raising, feathering their nests, working for a reserved seat on the gravy train, funded by US tax payers.

Not a good model for what was once understood to be a temporary job. When private citizens stopped getting involved in gubmint, the professional politicians filled the vacuum.

Rumsfield and Cheney were throw backs to the bygone era of citizen representatives. They went to Washington for a time, did a good job and then went home, where both were very successful. One of the reasons both were called back to serve, was they weren't permanent members of the ruling elite.

We need to quit voting for narcissistic twits who are looking for a life long career and find some people who will protect and strengthen the republic, then go home.

I'm starting to change my mind about term limits, which has as poster boys, Kennedy, Biden, McCain, Byrd, Stevens, and anyone who has overstayed their usefulness to the people...

War on Drugs
The GOP should give up the foolish war on (some) drugs. If you want limited government you have to be willing to let some people live their lives in ways you might not approve of. They should also come out for term limits.

R

Joel-De Opresso Liber
Chances are slim, you aver. Not good, but better than slim. The economic downturn doomed McCain. It will be worse in 2010. Higher unemployment, stagnant housing market, higher misery index. The problem i see is voter interpretation. Will Dumbo be able to continue to disclaim responsibility? If he can, we are at the mercy of outside events. FDR was saved by WW2. Dumbo?????

I continue to keep in the back of my mind the huge percent of people eligible to vote who don't even register. I thought they might have an impact on Dumbo's election, and i was wrong. Maybe a few years on enemmployment might make a difference. These people are being very much hurt by illegals. It would be wonderful if this issue could be used to sweep some of the trash in DC, virtually all of whom are responsible, out of office.

The Opposition
For Republicans to succeed they have to have ideas. And they have to live up to our ideals.

Are there any of them with the guts to tell the truth?

I don't care what you think you big government leaning, hack troll. How's that?

If you are proud of your government school education and the Amateur hour president, that only reinforces my point that the brainwashing training camps are working fine for the big govt Ds- especially in the Vampire state.

I fled that God forsaken pit of liberal thought in 2000 because I didn't trust their lousy schools with my 3 kids. It was a great decision and you can keep NY and the change.

Bankruptcy of the USA is not good
The only way to reverse it is to elect a Republican House in 2010. It can be done.
What would Obama do without Nancy Pelosi as Speaker of the house? He would have no leader to tell him publically what to do.

Salena
I think you're fighting the last two elections. The real fight will be in the GOP primaries when each district will decide between true rwconsquirts and more moderate GOP candidates.

Don't look past your first battle. cons have to win in the primaries before they get to the election. You need to win your party before you hope to take on the Dems.

Real ConservativeToomeyVs. RINO Specter

Pat Toomey ,The President of The Club For Growth Will Primary Perennial RINO Specter here in Pennsylvania.

The Self-Term Limiting Former Congressman ,Toomey kept his word to The Voters and went Home to Pennsylvania.

The Democrats, who would be running against Toomey are No Name Losers or A Back Bencher.

Toomey is Polling ahead of Specter among Registered Republicans by 41 Percent to 29 Percent .

Specter is A Play Both Sides against the middle Perennial RINO ,who lives off Taxpayers ,for his Rice Bowl.

I think that 2012
will have the GOP picking up more seats. I think that in the tragic Blue States, it will take several years for it to sink in that Obama is a disaster.

Off-year elections
In analyzing the November election, I have a different, more positive take, assuming one is a conservative. I think the Democrats won big because of Obama's coattails, and that voters are not particularly ideological. The Democrats swept the election because of Obama's perceived magnetism and charisma and McCain's actual lack thereof.

Once people got into the voting booths, they justvoted a straight ticket. The overwhelming win of Saxby Chambliss in Georgia, who was considered by the Dems to be vulnerable, indicated that Obama followers weren't much interested in anyone else, and they didn't turn out. Republicans will turn out in off-year elections. Without Obama to pull them in, Dems may ignore 2010. I agree, though, that we need some conservative Republicans. No more Arlen Specter RINOS, or even I will stay home.

Americans' patience
Let's look at the last major economic crisis:

In 1981, Reagan was elected to deal with a slumping economy. But in the first two years of his Presidency, unemployment continued to rise, hitting a high of 10% in mid-1982.

Despite this, the GOP's losses in November 1982 were modest: No seats in the Senate, and 27 seats in the House.

The American people knew that a slumping economy couldn't be fixed in just two years, and they were prepared to be patient.

I think the same thing is going to be true this time around in 2009. The GOP should not expect that Americans are somehow going to revolt against Obama in just two years' time. The real test of Obama will come when he runs for re-election in 2012.

America
There is an historical, repetitive cycle in the life of nations. This nation has ceased to look up(higher than Oz) for at least three generations. The longer our gaze remains lateral the worse our condition becomes. Judging from the previous comments, the American mindset is nothing more than at least two groups rooting for their favorite football team. As a nation we have chosen Barrabas because we are just like him. I don't know if this nation can be dissuaded from suicide, at this point, but hopefully some will see the need for personal change and be saved by grace through faith in Christ Jesus. Will it be you?

Rethugs are FINISHED
A clueless, over his head RNC Chair; a Minority Leader waving around a 'budget document' that was as substantive as toilet paper; leaders like Rush, Newt, Sean and the leading 2012 hopeful is a clueless governor of Alaska.

Eisenhower, Nixon, Reagan and Papa Bush were Washington, Adams, Jefferson and Madison compared to this group of morons.

Bye bye thugs, your treasonous party is DYING and America can't wait.

And still, some people don't get it.
They believe that our voting system still works and that our Constitution is being enforced. And that they will just vote the bad guys out!

The Socialist/Communist powers have taken control of our government and you as a citizen or your vote mean nothing anymore. Any election in the future will be for 'show' only. An attempt to appease the "Chattering Classes" (as we're now referred to) so they don't have to use force before Ovomits Black Shirts are ready.

Given the corruption and voter fraud now running amuck and the manipulation of paper. They will keep those they want in power while making you think that it was, after all, the peoples choice! When in reality the "People" will have nothing to say about it.

Remember this quote because it is happening now!

"Those who cast the votes decide nothing. Those who count the votes decide everything."...Joseph Stalin

GOP Needs To Change Its Tune For 2012
If the GOP is to win any seats in other than safe districts it is going to have to throw Rush Limbaugh and the rest of the dittohead element off of the bus sooner rather than later.

First and foremost the GOP must admit to itself that Karl Rove was essentially wrong when he calculated that the majority of Americans are conservative. The GOP can not win without the support of Independent voters who are completely alienated by the Limbaugh/Coulter/Hannity element with its incessent obstructionist rant. A CBS poll earlier this month showed Limbaugh with a 19% approval rating.

Meanwhile Obama has an overall approval rating over 60% and in the 80s on specific issues. Presently the GOP has an approval rating of between 18% to 38%. Moreover a CNN poll, taken in mid-March showed that 54% of those polled said that if the economy has not improved in 12 months it would be a result of Bush era policies. People on the Right are making a miscalculation if they think that six months from now the past eight years of Republican Administration's and the problems flowing therefrom will be forgotten. All of this polling data is available on PollingReport.com.

The Democrats will continue to refer back to the past eight years with the message that it is too risky to give the GOP another shot at this point in time.

The GOP will have to come up with a personality that engages the public generally. The revolving wheel of McCain/Palin/Jindal/Steele/Limbaugh has just not given the GOP any traction with the general public.

SteveL
Obama is spending his political capital almost as fast as congress is spending our grandchildren's money. By 2010 his numbers will be close to Bush's. He is a one trick pony and people will soon turn him off as he continues to read speaches he didn't write "with feeling". By the end of summer Geithner, whom he continues to defend vigorously, will have resigned & he will struggle to find anyone else willing to take the job at treasury. I think Gibbs will have blown a gasket as well - if not his answers in the by then rare press conferences will be giberish. BO will become the poster boy for eliminating affirmative action once and for all!

Goodness Me Little Louie,TheThugette !

Republicans got Future Presidential Candidates like Governor Mark Sanford of South Carolina ,Congressman Mike Pence of Indiana, Senator Jim DeMint of South Carolina ,Governor Bobby Jindal of Louisiana and Governor Sarah Palin of Alaska stacked up like incoming flights to take down The Socialist ObamaBoy from Illinois.

Shooo Cupcake !

SJ

Thank you for a precise description of the problem republicans have and what is needed. Prying off these Rush/Jindal types though will be almost impossible, they have the mic. Maybe, if internet information took some control, but the noecons have that pretty well gummed too, with disinformation and fun, all you can hate sites, like Malkin or the Weekly Standard. I'm usually an optimist, but the future looks depressing.

Tim

Governor Sanford looks good, but will Rush let him run, after criticizing him once? I doubt it.

Democrat Loretta Sanchez
a Conservative? Are you kidding me? What is this writer talking about?

I hope that there is no shade in your rice paddy you perverted POS.

daft: Don't you ever take off even one

day from making a COMPLETE FOOL of yourself???

Anne

The republican party is dysfunctional and addicted to bad habits like Rush, and you only seek to enable them. Have some pride and start helping America get back to our glory days. It will be very hard for you, as you never admit being wrong.

Taft !

Hey Sport !

You Wanna Focus on Limbaugh as "The Ultimate Decider " ,knock yourself out Liberal Fella.

We are watching with interest ,the time, energy and treasure you Lib Agendists use up and deplete tryin' to "Marginalize " Limbaugh .

As The Main Stream Media goes Bankrupt, because Americans ,indeed Vote with their Wallets,Limbaugh just signed a $400 Million Contract for 8 years.

He has over 600 Radio Stations and 22 Million Listeners ,that Advertising Businesses pay Big Bucks To Sell to those 22 Million Listeners.

POTUS in Jail?
If the people really wanted to do something "WE THE PEOPLE" could have congress, senate and the POTUS thrown in jail! Think its not so? Right now the LAW clearly states that illegal immigrants are, well, ILLEGAL! That means that our entire government is guilty of aiding and harbouring fugitives. Following the letter of our current law they are guilty of millions of counts and could and should be jailed for life!

PEOPLE, READ YOUR LAW!

daft the delusional
as usual moron you can't see the deficits run up by the three stooges, fglap ears, pelousy and corrupt land deal reid as problem but you are an authority on what's wrong with the dims

Since you are fully in support of a socialist and his $10 trillion plan to bankrupt the country why not look at what that moron has planned.

But then again you are pretty much another leftie loser. Still working as a sub teacher because you you aren't good enough to be trusted with a classroom.

But I am sure you specialize in socialist indoctrination so you are right at home in calif.

Since you voted for someone you knew nothing about why are you so worried about what repubs do. But repubs know far more about mark sanford than you know about flap ears.

And at least sanford has actual experience at being an administrator something flap ears still avoids as he prefers making a fool of himself trying to be a comedian.

Tim

Not so ethically, Obama has been playing Rush right into his hands. I don't care how much he makes. He stops dead cold any moral intelligent republican from stepping up to the plate and taking there place in history. Even the Governor Sanford, a pretty good guy on all accounts, had to practically beg Rush to forgive him. The corporate world knows they have Rush in their pocket and will keep him there. Did you hear him telling everyone how much those AIG guys deserved our bonus welfare checks, after they helped run the economy into the mud?

cactushead
Thank you for a though provoking post! I'm not sure what your point is, but I can tell you lave your country. Lets keep our noses to the grindstone and help our nation recover.

regards,

daft the moron
so the messiah's butt boy lectures us about the repubs failings and refuses to acknowledge the coming deficits. But why would you care. You are probably amongst those losers who can't earn enough to actually pay federal taxes.

But blindly following the dims isn't going to do anything but make matters far worst. But then why would you care. Your messiah has informed you he will do the thinking for you and you just need to follow along like all the lemmings in the dim party and he will take care of you and your worthless lives

But love of country has nothing to do with wasting money on failed programs. But then you are the perfect dim loyalist. Your only solution is throwing money at problems you never will see fixed

Gains Will Be Limited
Ms. Zito presents a logical scenario, but her references to Colorado (where I live) point up a large portion of the problem for Conservatives such as me. She says Mr. Coors almost beat Mr. Salazar in 2004 as if that were a point in Mr. Coors's favor. A strong candidate would have beaten Mr. Salazar easily. The Coors campaign was one of the worst run campaigns I've ever seen -- the candidate himself was lifeless. The GOP in Colorado virtually handpicks the candidates, doing everything possible to avoid a primary. That strategy has really worked well -- we now have two Democrat senators. We aren't growing strong candidates. Why not? Owens has name recognition, so he might have a chance, but he was a big disappointment to Colorado Conservatives during the later years of his governorship. If elected, he would be more of a centrist. He would be to the right of Susan Collins and Olympia Snow(e)(?), but he's no genuine Conservative. We need candidates like the fellow in England who is getting all the press for his attacks on the British Prime Minister. Why can't we have candidates like that?

daft: Completely UNTRUE, but I'm

curious as to who told you to say that!!!

"The republican party is dysfunctional and addicted to bad habits like Rush, and you only seek to enable them. Have some pride and start helping America get back to our glory days. It will be very hard for you, as you never admit being wrong."

NOT a word of truth or intellect in that entire post! {sigh}

I appreciate the your opinions and keep up the great posting!

cactushead

I appreciate the your opinions and keep up the great posting!

You are right, I don't make much money. I at least need very little to be happy.

Maybe a better title
for this article would be, "GOP Prospects in the mid-terms are dismal."

The author states: "In reality, 2010 probably will not be a reverse of 2006 for Republicans; maybe they pick up one or two seats overall."

Taft !

Of course, you don't care how much Limbaugh makes because ,as with many Liberals ,you think that you can increasingly Force Confiscate Limbaugh's ,as well as We Americans' Money through Big Government Coercion and Threats.

Hey Socialista !
The Corporate World has ObamaBoy in Their Pocket.

Now,everybody go to the Public Records of The Campaign Bundlers and Donors to Obama,Chris Dodd,Bawney Fwank.Etc.

Next, let's look at ,Larry Summers,Rahm Emanuel and other Obama Administration members and their ties to Corporations and Wall Street.

While you ObamaBoy Agendists attempt to Divert and Distract Attention to Chump Change Retention Bonuses,to some A.I.G. Financial Products Unit employees,The Big Bucks A.I.G.Bomb is about to detonate.

These Big Government A.I.G. Bailout Scammers are giving Billions upon Billions of force confiscated American Taxpayers Money to Foreigners, not to mention ObamaBoy Buddies like Goldman Sachs.

No one needed to tell me the obvious. How are your horses? Have you though of getting Quarter horses instead, they are smarter and learn faster.

Tim
You make some great points but, doesn't one of your opinions contradict another one? How could Obama be a socialist if he's in the pocket of Goldmad Sach"s? It seems to me he's taking some big risks trying to save capitalism. At this point, a FDR would have Nationalized the banks. Be careful with your tea party and get in trouble with the IRS. It isn't worth it.

daft the moron
only the stupid equate money with happiness.

But you lefties only know one answer. Spend societies tax dollars to fund the losers your party enables.

Funny how the base of the dims fully captures the most illiterate and biggest whiners in the country.

But then again when has the teachers union actually concerned itself with teaching rather than union members collecting a paycheck.

If you lefties are so concerned why can't you solve the problems you create.

But the dims will always enable and reward failure and then seek to collect higher taxes from the earners to pay for more failure.

cactushead
Solve the problem "we" created? Bush left us this mess, not Obama, remember? I'm glad you can unload on me all your pent up anger, it's good for your health. Try walking or working out doors too.

Conservatives

WHAT ALL OF YOU MUST DO FROM NOW ON IS VOTE UNANIMOUSLY AGAINST EVERY BILL AND TAX THAT LIBERALS PROPOSE!!! DO NOT VOTE FOR ANYTHING LIBERALS PROPOSE!!! DO NOT GO ALONG TO GET ALONG WITH THE LIBERALS!!! DO NOT GO TO THEIR PARTIES!!! TOTALLY VOCALLY OPPOSE THE LIBERALS IN EVERY WAY, ESPECIALLY ILLEGAL ALIEN AMNESTY!!! THE LIBERALS ARE TRYING TO STICK YOU WITH PART OF THE BLAME FOR ALL THEIR FUTURE FAILURES; DON’T LET THEM DO IT!!! DO NOT CLAP WHEN OBAMA SAYS ANYTHING!!! JOINING LIBERALS IN ANYTHING IS SELLING OUT AMERICA!!! THEY ARE NOT YOUR FRIENDS!!! THEY ARE YOUR AND AMERICA’S WORST ENEMIES, AND WILL DO ANYTHING THEY CAN TO DESTROY BOTH!!! GET ALL THE RINO’S AND BLUEBLOOD COUNTRYCLUB ELITES OUT OF THE GOP!!!

You cannot stop their bills or even slow them down beyond calling for roll call votes for them. Make everything they pass totally theirs. What you will be doing is getting on record as opposing all the destructive liberal bills. They are trying to get you on the hook with them, so you can’t blame them fully. Why should money we give you to elect conservatives go to RINO”S like Specter, and McCain who spend all their time voting with the Democ-rats.

When all these liberal actions make things much worse, as they will, you can point at the record and show the people that none of you had anything to do with them, and that you had no control over their passage, that all this destruction was caused by liberals.

Here's one really good idea
We the people pay all taxes, and we are the only ultimate source of all tax revenue. Regardless where government initially collects it, all tax money ultimately comes from us, the people.
Since we the people are the one and only source of all tax revenue:
There should be only one tax to collect all tax revenue.
It should be a single, simple, fair, direct, graduated, individual, full-income tax levied on living persons for each level of government: One Tax and Done.
You cannot convince a person or corporation to start a new business or expand an existing business, increase jobs, and hire new employees, when you tax away the capitol he is using to operate his PRESENT business
The best thing that government can do to help the country, the people, and even government, is to repeal all of the many hundreds, or thousands of existing taxes, fees, and charges. These taxes are the federal deficit. These taxes are the high price of everything. These tax eliminations are spending cuts. Every tax that is eliminated is a tax that we the people no longer have to pay. These taxes are the difference between the price we pay for health care and everything else, and the price we would pay if these taxes were repealed. Eliminating these taxes will remove them from the price paid for everything by everyone.
One Tax and Done will provide many benefits to all, even government:
One Tax and Done will reduce the price paid for everything by one-third.

Taft The TORY !

No wonder you make little money.

Goldman Sachs People ,for years have been moving in and out and using Big Government and lobbying it and financing it through their buddy Politicians' Campaigns.check out Robert Rubin,Henry Paulson Jon Corzine,Larry Summers,Geithner's Treasury Deputy,Etc.

These guys have and are making money, while they use Economic Imbecile Socialist Schemers, like Obama ,Bawney Fwank and Chuckie Schumer.

You're a Tory Talker !

Up The Rebellion !

Sons of Liberty have moved into Rebellion !

What About the Polls?
This article sounds like wishful Republican thinking rather than serious analysis. Polls in Nevada and Illinois show both seats are secure regardless of who the challenger is. Polls in Connecticut are mixed but if averaged show Dodd slightly ahead of Simmons. In New York Gillibrand's strongest potential opponent is Pataki and out of three polls he loses in two and ties her in one. Polls in Colorado show that the only candidate that can beat Bennet is Owens (by 44-41). On the other hand, the Democrats have significant pickup opportunities in 2010. In New Hamphire likely Democratic nominee Paul Hodes leads all potential Republicans. Ditto for Robin Carnahan in Missouri. Ditto for Kendick Meek in Florida. Polls in Ohio and North Carolina are mixed but if averaged likely nominee Fisher beats Portman in Ohio and Cooper beats Burr in North Carolina. The Pennsylvania general election is unpolled but it's difficult to see how either Specter or Toomey win against any of the likely Democratic nominees (Schwartz, Murphy, Torsella, Sestak and Wagner). So Republicans may pick up CO but Democrats probably pick up FL, MO, NC, NH, OH and PA for a net gain of five seats. As they say, all politics is local (and personal). The fact is there are a lot of open Republican seats and a lot of very weak Republican candidates in 2010.

Hate to tell Zito and the rest
of the pundits, but the GOP does need to take the majority in 2010 to throw ice water on Obama's agenda.

GOP only needs to gain seats to spook the massses, especially the blue dogs.

Of course the media would down play that scenario, which will be an electric blanket to the Dems, but only in the short term. Soon the electricity will get turned off and they will wake up cold. Ignore the message the voters send and they will send it again and again.

Need proof? The GOP learned that lesson in the last three elections. They ignored and they lost.

The Truth
If in 2010 inflation is at 1000%, unemployment at 75%, the prime rate at 40%, the Dow at $50, and if Obama converted to Islam and embraced Stalin style communism, and surrendered to the Taliban, the American electorate would still have high approval ratings of him.

And the GOP would still be unable to craft a coherent message to the country, would still be muttering to themselves about short vs. long term interest rates, would still be trying to instruct illiterate and incest bred fat Americans on the matter of supply side economics, and would still be hiding under their desks fearing another "BOO!" from Obama.

All of this wishing and hoping for any semblance of balance in our politics is absolutely futile.

The left are fighters with a will to win. The GOP are cowards, bent over at the waist, geldings and eunuchs. They're old, tired, corrupt and perverted. They even look sick. The media is merely a division of the DNC, paid propagandists for the left.

And Americans, collectively, are null and void, a nation of slaves, and nothing more than brute animals in the wilderness. One only has to look around in broad daylight at these human pieces of garbage to see how it is we've got what we got in our government.

Those with intelligence and a sense of self reliance need to opt out of our politics and establish themselves in a way that they can evade from our government's crimes. Putting any more faith in any reawakening of the mythical American excellence, is a waste of time.

Hate to tell Zito and the rest

I am curious to know where you came up with the number of 36.5% approval rating for Congressional Dems. PollingReport.com shows the last three March poll results to show an approval rating for Democrats in Congress at 43%; 47% and 50% respectively vice the polling for Republicans at 18%; 29% and 28% respectively.

With regard to the right track / wrong track numbers you are correct with your mid 50's figure, but what is more important is that when the election was held, that number was in the 80s. As was pointed out on Meet the Press in early March, the shrinkage of those saying the country is on the wrong track from a number in the 80s to the current level is the greatest reduction in that poll number in history, outside of a time of all out war. What that shrinkage indicates is that more people feel that some positive change is in the pipeline. Don't loose sight of the fact that most Americans attribute the wrong track aspect of things to be a result of the Bush Administration and not the fault of Obama. Figures on PollingReport.com show 84% of those polled feel that BHO inherited the current crisis from Bush, as opposed to being it's instigator.

Common Sense
You can NOT spend your way out of debt. This is not rep or dem but common sense. Once this "sucker" rally is over in the market you will see massive inflation that will come around for the second major slap in the face. Will the people vote for republicans next year because they like republicans? It will not matter. People will vote for whoever is not "DEM" because when this next wave hits people will be tired of the massive unemployment and cost going up. You think the public is not waery enough? The tea parties should tell you something. There are many who don't have a loud voice right now but will have a voice when they pull the lever at voting time. You can only push people so far and they will fight back. The vote will be for the lesser of the 2 evils.

This simply not true. On a business level, you can turn a company around by increasing debt to hire additional people, buy additional equipment and invest in employee training It happens all the time. It may be common sense but it is wrong. Inflation is a danger longer term if the timing of cutting the stimulus spending is off. The danger of deflation was far more serious than inflation from this bush depression

Tim @4:59 3/29
As a matter of fact I had looked up RCP before I responded to you and the figure you are citing is an RCP average polling statistic for overall congressional approval and not a figure for the Dems alone.

With regard to mistakes made by the Dems as it relates to the current crisis, I don't dispute that they have contributed their fair share to the problem, but they got there by trying to co-opt Conservative ideas so as to remain popular and it is a policy that backfired for the country as a whole.

BTW I am a political independent.

Svara, Reid is unpopular but.....
You need candidates to win elections. Former congressman Jon Porter, who also lost his re-election bid last year (he couldn't even win his own congresional district let alone his state), is considered unlikely to run since he took a lobbying job at Akerman Senterfitt (and his unfavorables are as bad as Reid's). (In any case Reid beat him 46-40 in a poll). And lieutenant governor Brian Krolicki, once considered a rising GOP star, was indicted on four felony charges accusing him of mishandling state money (and consequently he also has high unfavorables). That doesn't leave many, if any, candidates left with the fundraising ability and political experience to take on a political powerhouse like Reid, and Sid Rogich, perhaps the leading Republican fundraiser in Nevada, has said that he will be crossing party lines to support Reid for re-election. In the final analysis no matter how unpopular Reid is, his potential opponents are even more so, and without a major candidate and without any money how will the Republicans beat him?

Anne, Article 1, Section 8, Clause 4
Bankruptcy in the United States is permitted by the United States Constitution which authorizes Congress to enact "uniform Laws on the subject of Bankruptcies throughout the United States." Common law, the basis for the United States legal system, has long recognised the concept of a receiver, a situation in which an institution or enterprise is taken over by a entity that is appointed as a custodian of another entity's property by a court of law or a creditor of the owner, pending a lawsuit or bankruptcy when the entity has gone into receivership. Several regulatory entities have been granted power by the Congress to place banking and financial institutions into receivership like the OCC for failing nationally-chartered commercial banks; the OTC for failing savings and loan associations; and the FHFA for GSEs such as Fannie, Freddie , and the 12 Federal Home Loan Banks. Most individual states also have granted receivership authority to their own bank regulatory agencies and insurance regulators. Nationalization, the act of involuntarily taking an industry or assets into the public ownership of a national government or state is particular kind of receivership. There is a long history of nationalization in the United States. In 1976 Conrail was created to take over the operations of six bankrupt railroads (Conrail was privatized in 1987). In the 1980s the RTC seized control of hundreds of failed S&Ls. In 2008 the federal government took over Fannie and and Freddie. None of these instances were ever ruled unconstitutional.

If we let the 2010 election go unchallenged, we can watch our freedoms disolve before our eyes. It matters not that our Constitiution has been the successful blueprint for our nation for over 200 years. The enemies of freedom, especially the Banana Republic Tyrant wanna-be in the White House, control both houses of Congress, control judical appointments. The conservatives (not RINOs like McCain, Snowe, Collins, Specter) of the country need to start NOW to raise money to defeat the Left-Wing Radicals and the Turncoats in the GOP(McCain, etc....).

Sorry HAL. ANY SOLDIER knows that when you get assigned a job it is yours. Does not matter what the guy before you did or did not do. Once you start your first day (first minute) on the job it is yours. Obammy took responsibility the minute he took office and knew full well what he was getting into. He had choices to make and he made the wrong ones. Blaming others is a sign of weakness and in the military he would be replaced if things did not improve in a short time. No questions asked. You would know this if you ever served but since you did not you know nothing. You are a fake and a bad one at that!

I love your passion, and you are right. But it's not just that we need real conservatives to run; we need to start fighting back against these people NOW.
I don't care what media generated polling data claim or what idiot liberals around here assert; the American people do not like what is happening now.
Truth be told, the American people have rejected liberalism time and time again, but it's hard to defeat democrats when republicans appear to capitulate at every turn.
If right now, while all this confiscation of freedom is going on, the republicans started hammering the democrats every damn day, the American people would cheer them on.
If the real conservative movement were energized, we would crush the left as we have before.
To my mind, every republican in Washington who lacks the ability, courage, conviction, whatever, to stand up to and forcefully fight democrats is as guilty of what is happening as the democrats are.

2010 ... The pivotal year ....Fight .... Remember Reagan, any republic is one generation from tyranny....That generation just voted for tyranny in 2008 .. "Useful Idiots" said Karl Marx.."

I remembered Ron saying something like that and it is what motivated me to become involved in the 2004/6/8 elections. I think we avoided that bullet when we tossed the failed bush regime and conservatives out on their butt. However, realizing that you disagree I say to you that you are on the right track it is what I helped do from the other side and that worked.

"...Fight that generation, fight the OBAMANATION, Fight the Guilty White Liberals, Fight the Main Stream Propaganda Press..."

I am not at all guilty, a bit embarrassed, but hardly guilty but I do see how someone from NC might feel that way.

"...The Second Protects the Rest!"

A weapon is a tool nothing else. It is the people that use them.

The GOP and 2010
I think Republicans will do better than pick up one seat in the Senate; simply because, if you look at the people who overwhelmingly voted for Obama, they were in the 18-29 age group. It will be interesting to see if this group votes in such force come 2010. Moreover, will they vote for Democrats when they realize they will not be able to get a job when they get out of school, or when 40 percent of their income goes to taxes? This goes for the states that voted for Obama. Some of those states are historically conservative. Republicans need to adhere to conservative principles and they will be fine. This question is how much damage will the Democrats have done by then?

Good grief are you incapable of any honesty? Here is who I am. I use my real name. But I do thank you for your honorable service

"...Honor and defending the constitution are the first things a real soldier stands for which HAL does not. Keep lying HAL. You are just making a fool of yourself."

LMAO it is not I playing the fool

Good night HAL
and keep up the lies. But don't feel left out because SATAN will have a place for you in his party one day!

An idea
We have all been inspired by the thrashing Gordon Brown recieved the other day by a member of the opposing party (his name escapes me). We would love, finally, to see this happen over here. Hopefully at some point soon it will happen (my money is on Michelle Bachmann). At that point, we conservatives of the country should do something to show our appreciation.
Now there are quite a few wise conservative folks here, so tell me what you think about this: When a republican slams a democrat, we should send that person gifts. Not money, but gifts; pro-flowers, pajama grams, vermont teddy bears, whatever. But make it so that every other schmuck member of congress sees it.
We know that these are incredibly vain people, so perhaps if we make them jealous we can persuade the on lookers to start doing the right thing, whether they are doing it for the right reasons or not.
Nothing else we try to do gets these people's attention, so maybe this might, and perhaps embolden the weak kneed to do the right thing.

There is NO National Mortgage Crisis

The National Mortgage crisis is a 'Myth' perpetrated by Barack Obama, Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid.

There is a crisis in some States that voted for Barack Obama.

1) Nevada - 1 out of 76 homes in foreclosure.
2) California - 1 out of 173 homes in foreclosure.
3) Arizona - 1 out of 182 homes in foreclosure.
4) Michigan - 1 out of 397 homes in foreclosure.
5) Florida - 1 out of 214 homes in foreclosure.

Barack Obama targeted Arizona because Liberals think they can win that state in the next election.

Foreclosures are a personal financial crisis, but NOT a National financial crisis.

The beneficiaries of taxpayer charity will be highly concentrated in just five states - California, Nevada, Arizona, Florida and Michigan.

Most of the homes in these 5 states that are 'Underwater' were financed by Fannie and Freddie to those NOT qualified for regular financing.

Anne
Still waiting for your response on the other thread. The federal judge who ordered the 19 Chinese Muslims released from GITMO in October.
Explain how that is BHO allowing detainees to come to the US?

HAHAHA right back at ya! How about an answer?

Underwater Loan Statistics
I am not aware of any source for the specific distribution of "underwater" loans by agency of issue. If you are aware of such a source of data I would like to be enlightened. However it is a safe bet that most of the loans that are underwater currently are subprime. By definition any mortgage that fails to satisfy Fannie or Freddie loan standards is labeled "subprime." Thus it is highly unlikely that most (in fact, that any) of the homes in those five states that are underwater were financed by Fannie and Freddie. More likely they were financed by organizations like Countrywide, HSBC Finance, or Chase Home Finance.

REPLY Anne
Its funny to watch. Don't let these America haters like shorts or hal get to you. They are all just sucking Obammy dick and will say or do anything to support the liberal ( marxist) view. Ignore them because in the grand scheme of life they don't matter!

bravemonk199: It just gets better and

better... :-)

doofass says, "and conservatives clearly lie."

HA HA Just MORE paraphrasing of "the failed Bush admin.... " :-)

doofass: "I do care about the constitution which is a major reason I got involved in politics and took an oath to defend it"

HOWEVER, I've asked doofass-the-clueless at least 20 times to tell me exactly where in the Constitution it gives Bozo authorization to do what he's done since 1-20-09, doofass hasn't given me an answer...

Certainly makes one question if doofass has actually ever even READ the Constitution!

doofass: "I do care about laws and people and what conservatives have done to both"

And yet ANOTHER opportunity to blame Conservatives! It's what doofass lives for!

doofass: "...governments money?"

BINGO! doofass doesn't seem to understand that the govt DOESN'T have any money! It's our money the govt is spending!!!!!!!!!!

"...People in this country are waking up and they will wake up even more later this year because after this sucker rally in the market.."

Of course that will be another downturn and after folks wake up to the fact that they can't afford Christmas gifts because unemployment is up to 15% nationwide and 401K's have dropped 70%, they will DEMAND something different...

doofass: "If this happens which I hope it does not..."

Of course doofass doesn't want people to wake up... 'cause then doofass will have to face some pretty cruel facts! And it will be, NOT that "this is a bush depression" but rather how they've bought into Bozo's Marxist plans all along!

2010 Congressional Elections.
I so hope that you are right. Each morning I wake with a sense of dread before seeing the news. Yet five or six times a day, I check the news. 6) Whatever cash is left, give it to the most human failures you can find.

But even better flap ears promises to punish the evil rich to reward the great unwashed and all the victim groups the dims enable

Anne
you're in denial. What about defending your BHO lie? You're getting your butt kicked with facts and you resort to chortling. How adult.

Tim @ 5:50 PM & 5:59 PM 3/29
Yes Congress is Controled by the Dems but if you go to PollingReport.com and look at the most recent polls addressing the approval ratings of the Democrats in Congress the average number comes up at 48.5% not 36.5% which implies that the results derived from the RCP findings address a generic question about the public perception of Congress as a whole, the results of which are affected by the public perception of both parties. Seeing as the GOP is at a historical low point as it regards to public approval of it's performance on Capitol Hill, I think that it is safe to assume that those figures get you to the 36.5% overall approval rating reflected in the RCP polling.

I don't know what it's going to take

before these intellectually limited liberal idiots figure this out....

But today Bozo the wannabe dictator fired... FIRED... Rick Wagoner, the chairman and CEO of General Motors!

NONE of these idiot liberal Bozo lemmings have a clue about what's going on!

There is a limit
To Anne and Cactushead..

Look you and I know you can't spend your way out of debt. There is a limit to how much money you can throw at a problem without some kind of backlash from those who are providing the funds ( ie, taxpayers ). Nationalizing healthcare is another disaster in the waiting. Our own government is clearly breaking the law by having a law that states illegal immigrants are illegal. They are aiding and harbouring fugitives that are breaking the same laws that they in government have sworn to protect. These are just a few issues of the many and I know for a fact that people are waking up because I am even hearing the "N" word used by people I know who voted or Obammy. The who fell for the "love affair" concept is breaking down. Just let the words of the Obammy lovers go in one ear and out the other because by the end of the summer this mess will be worse. I have faith in the number of REAL AMERICANS left in this country!

bravemonk199: Geeze, "the "N" word used

by people I know who voted or Obammy."

Cripes! I'm not surprised, but I would never use that word....

Ha! Wait 'till they find out how far he's gone now!

Problem is, most of these intellectually limited, uneducated, low-life scum bags who voted for Bozo, don't have a clue (yet) what a Marxist he is....

Lots of rude awakening in the future for these folks.

Heck, I'm wondering if any of them even know who Karl Marx was? OR can they spell Marxism? Or can they spell Communism?

Anne on GM
GM had a choice, dont take bail out money. Otherwise the lender (Federal Government) in this case ends up calling the shots.

Lenders do that. This is symbolic, firing this guy Wagoner really means nothing, just that the UAW will have the attention diverted away from them for awhile courtesy of the administration.

Defending Obama's Lack of Character

How does someone defend a person with NO character?

Obama Character
---------------
1) The summation of all of Obama's decisions and actions (judgment).
Chose a 'Black Separatist Church' to raise his kids in.

2) Obama's personally held values.
Brother and Aunt living in poverty and Obama ignores them.

3) Obama's view on sancity of life.
Thinks 'Partial Birth Abortion is a right for women.

4) Obama's defense of the helpless.
Worked hard to deny any aid to babies dying in excruciating pain.

5) Obama's associations, allies and friends.
ACORN, Terrorists, Communists, Socialists.

6) Obama's honesty and personal integrity.
Lies about anything for political expediency.

Those Trying to Defend Barack Obama have no other recourse than to attack the messenger of the truth about him or change the subject.

Those Trying to Defend Barack Obama have no other recourse than to point to other peoples bad behaviour in hopes of mitigating the horrendous lack of empathy that Barack Obama has for defenseless little Babies.

Those Trying to Defend Barack Obama have no other recourse than to try and point to others 'Radical' alliances and friendships in hopes of changing the subject.

Those Trying to Defend Barack Obama have found there is absolutely NO way to defend Barack Obama so they use any ruse they can to get off subject or change the topic.

Attempting to defend Barack Obama is a 'fools' quest at the very best.

anderson659: That is exactly the

"catch-22" and why instead of letting them file Chapt. 11, which is what they should have done in the first place....

What the hell is wrong with these people that they couldn't see that??????

Oh yeah, we were all crazy when we said MONTHS AGO that this would happen...

So who's crazy now? Huh?

Anderson659 is refuting you now! You are never on solid ground are you? We know what a marxist is and BHO is not one. hahahahaha. How about the Chinese Muslims now. Any comment? How about an answer there Annie? Still waiting a defense on your previous fabrication.

TOM: 2010...The pivotal year 7:20PM 3/29
One thing that must be understood, if Obama's reservior runs dry it does not necessarily follow that the water will find it's way into a Conservative or a Republican reservoir.

Structurally I think it will be hard to try to retake Washington based on an energized Conservative base alone. A Pew Reserach Paper, Winds of Political Change Haven't Shifted Public's Ideology Balance, dated November 25, 2008, revealed that only 36% of the public identifies as Conservatives, but that those identifying with the Democratic Party has widened over the past two decades. Moreover, other studies have shown that the percentage of respondents who identify as Republicans is 32% when given a choice of three: Democrat, GOP or Independent. To read the actual Pew Report go to:http://www.pewtrusts.org/our_work_report_detail.aspx?id=46450.

Obama's personal favorability rating remains high in spite of the numerous misteps made in his fist two months in office, in comparison the GOP has never polled approval ratings as low as those it now has in the history of polling. Seeing as there is no national Conservative Party, those on the Right are stuck with the GOP in the short term.

Those on the Right who are operating under the assumption that the political climate of this country has not really moved to the left would do themseleves a favor in reading the following article: For Much of the Country, a Sizeable Shift (Google Advanced Search). The article presents a county by county anaysis of the percentage of increase in voting for the Democratic Party. It is surprising to see just how blue the country has become.

Hey Anne
There are many more people who will vote against the dem's next year than you think. I know a few who have to be careful because they are in union's and don't want to get beat up or fired because they don't agree that Obammy is king. So these people stay silent but when they get behind that curtain at the voting booth they will vote these clowns out. Don't get discouraged when you don't see more people at the tea party or more people speaking out on the blogs because some are just filled with too much fear to be public but they will laugh all the way home from the voting booth next year!

anderson659: And, if you recall...

Pelosi, Reid, and the rest of the liberal Marxist Congress went on a HUGE campaign as to WHY GM couldn't possibly go Chapt. 11...

"No one would buy a car from a company in Chapt. 11... whaa whaa whaa..."

Gee, wonder why Pelosi was so OPPOSED to them filing Chapt. 11????

When the fact is, had they filed Chapt. 11, as they should have in the first place, the judge would have ordered such things as new mgmt, and a business plan, etc., etc., etc.

It's a totally different scenario than having the govt. take control.

Of course, these idiot liberals have no clue!!!

They don't seem to comprehend that this is NATIONALIZING industries!

What fools!!!!!

But you can refinance and rebuild that is what you folks fail to realize. Right now taxpayers support Obama and the Republican Party membership is crashing except maybe (not certain even here) for poor white rural folks

",,,Nationalizing healthcare is another disaster in the waiting..."

As is doing nothing... time to get to work because you lazy parasites did nothing to fix healthcare when you led the nation (yet one more conservative failure)

"...Our own government is clearly breaking the law by having a law that states illegal immigrants are illegal..."

huh?

"...They are aiding and harbouring fugitives that are breaking the same laws that they in government have sworn to protect..."

Under the law, being an illegal immigrant is a less serious "crime" than jay walking. When you fix jay walking then let's "fix" illegal immigration

"...These are just a few issues of the many and I know for a fact that people are waking up because I am even hearing the "N" word used by people I know who voted or Obammy....

Ahhh the classic racist LOL just how old are you...?

They HAVE to be dumber than dust!!!

(Cripes, and even I can't be bothered with dust... I have someone come in and get rid of dust for me... Ugh!)

But you'd think they'd be too embarrassed to be openly that dumb! Apparently not!

wrightswrong52- is wrong
You need reading comprehension lessons. Not only am I supporting what Anne said, I believe there is a deeper reason for it. And I stated the reason why Wagoner was fired in my opinion.

What you posted was a twitism.

You are too funny HAL
Let us know when you are finished digesting Obammy's dinner! LOL

Someone said that Helen Thomas called Police when IQ29 demanded a 'Nude Picture' of her.

Someone said that IQ29 will soon be arrested for 'Stalking' Helen Thomas.

Fear is an anti-union tactic. You don't have to worry. EFCA probably won't pass this year, but I think it will pass after the midterms. I've witnessed first hand the tactics used by Macy's in preventing unionization (no I'm not an employee, I'm merely interested in the welfare of one of their employees). You can't stop us. We will win in the end for the simple reason that what you are trying to do is simply unethical.

Nero Fiddled while Rome Burned

Nero fiddled while Rome burned - Barack Obama giggled and laughs on 60 minutes until Kroft asked Obama if he was "Punch Drunk".

Barack Obama has been tutored, mentored and trained, his entire life, for the time when he could destroy America.

Many good Americans were deceived into voting for Obama, just like many good Germans were deceived into voting for Hitler.

Once evil is in power, whether it is personal or National - evil is very difficult to overcome.

America will be scarred for life, just like a man or woman who became personally overcome by evil.

anderson659: Thanks. I knew you were...

But we all know "reading comprehension" is an ongoing issue with most... no ALL libs.

And of course, not the least of which is doofass!

And yes, I agree, there is something deeper going on...

Earlier today, on Giles' thread I posted... "Is it too soon to say 'We Told You So?'"

Well... obviously it's NOT TOO SOON!

Union Members Striking Against Union

WASHINGTON -- Sometimes even unions have union problems.

Dozens of employees of the Service Employees International Union picketed their own union Friday over its decision to lay off about 75 workers.

The staffers marched outside SEIU headquarters in Washington as they yelled into bullhorns, passed out flyers and chanted, "Justice for all, not just some."

"This union is supposed to be at the forefront of the progressive movement, but it can't seem to follow its own ideology," said Malcolm Harris, president of the Union of Union Representatives, which represents 210 SEIU organizers and field staff around the country.

The UUR has filed unfair labor practice charges and age and race discrimination claims against SEIU. Harris called SEIU leaders "hypocrites" for calling out corporations that shed workers, yet moving to lay off their own employees.

SEIU spokeswoman Michelle Ringuette called the complaints meritless and said layoffs are needed because the union is shifting organizing work away from its national office to local unions.

"We're in the middle of realignment," Riguette said. "This is how we implement the democratic decisions arrived at our convention."

They are all socialist. They hate America don't have enough intestinal fortitude to admit it. Honesty is not in their creed!

the scranton drunkard
so now this idiot babble his nonsense about his faith in the american people and how they will continue to support flap ears.

Seems the drunkard has been getting all his inside info from his masters at huffpuff who love flap ears even more than this dimwit.

But why the surprise, the drunkard has lived off the gov't his entire life just like flap ears and thinks gov't the answer to everything.

As long as the dims can identify their enemy they think they will win. But going after the evil rich they will never find the necessary tax dollars flap ears needs to remake america intop his socialist nirvana.

But flap ears in his lunacy thinks he is the reincarnation of lincoln who is now fighting the evil repubs he has cast into the enemy formerly known as the confederate states.

But sooner rather than later the country will tire of this fraud who needs his ego constantly fed by the adoring ignorant.

Flap ears will never lose the love of the trolls, they have accepted him as their new divine leader and inspiration.

But the tax and spending plans and the growing deficits will never re-energize the economy, no matter how much the history and economic theory challenged flap ears yells the trolls they will.

But it seems the euros are waking up to the idea that under flap ears, the only way america's economy will re energize itself is when the rest of the world fails.

There is only so much available cash floating around the world and flap ears thinks he has the right to take it all

George Soros and Unions

George Soros is a Barack Obama supporter.

In one of his most significant and effective efforts to shape the American political landscape, Soros was the prime mover in the creation of the so-called "Shadow Democratic Party" in 2003.

This term refers to a nationwide network of more than five-dozen unions, non-profit activist groups, and think tanks whose agendas are ideologically to the left, and which are engaged in campaigning for the Democrats. This network's activities include fundraising, get-out-the-vote drives, political advertising, opposition research, and media manipulation.

In December of 2006, Soros met with Democratic presidential hopeful Barack Obama in his (Soros') New York City office.

Soros had previously hosted a fund-raiser for Obama during the latter's 2004 campaign for the Senate.

On January 16, 2007, Obama announced the creation of a presidential exploratory committee, and within hours Soros sent the senator a contribution of $2,100, the maximum amount allowable under campaign finance laws.

Later that week the New York Daily News reported that Soros would back Obama over Senator Hillary Clinton, whom he had supported in the past.

Communists and Unions a Family Tradition

Unions begin big election effort
By John Wojcik, People's Weekly World
Communist Party USA

"With the primary season over, labor is wasting no time jumping into the fall campaign. The 10-million-member AFL-CIO is expected to endorse Barack Obama, the presumptive Democratic presidential nominee, shortly. The Change to Win federation has already endorsed him.

Once the AFL-CIO officially endorses Obama, it is expected to deploy large numbers of ground troops for the election. It has already budgeted $54.3 million for its own get-out-the vote drive and may, according to its political committee chairman, AFSCME President Gerald McEntee, spend as much as $60 million on the effort.

The Steelworkers have already begun what they say will be 30,000 or more worksite visits by union activists, talking directly to workers about Obama’s positions. They’re emphasizing his proposals for fair trade policies and for creation of millions of good paying “green” manufacturing jobs. The jobs they are talking about include production of solar cells, industrial-sized windmills to power electric turbines, and hybrid automobile engines.

The Service Employees (SEIU), the largest union in the Change to Win federation, voted at their June 2–4 convention in San Juan, Puerto Rico, to spend $85 million for the fall campaign to elect Obama and a bigger Democratic majority in Congress.

An additional $55 million will be spent for a legislative campaign to push for creation of a “universal, comprehensive and affordable national health care plan,” according to a union statement issued after the convention.

In a unique move, SEIU voted to spend $10 million to mount campaigns against legislators on any level who go back on promises they have made to the labor movement."

About Hal Donahue
To the good people of Town Hall: If I may, I would like to say a few things about Hal Donahue.

First, I would like to offer my humblest apologies on behalf of myself and my staff for failing to keep Hal in his padded room, and away from a computer. Because of this failure, he has managed to log on to TH and bore every thinking person to tears with his constant babbling about the virtues of Liberalism.

Second, it is important--in order to make sense of his inanity--to understand what he is suffering from. So I will give you a little background info on him.

Hal's mental development is extremely slow, as evidenced by the fact that he took his first steps, ( i.e. started walking) at the age of six; He started talking at the age of ten, and his first words were " Government ", " Taxes ", and " LMAO " ( in that order ). When he was sixteen, and finally stopped breast-feeding, his parents thought it best ( finally ) to seek professional help.

They decided to bring Hal to the " Mental Care Facility " where I work as a Janitor. . .er. . .psychiatrist. After much evaluation of the subject, I came to the conclusion that Hal was suffering from the very same thing that millions of other Americans suffer from : It's called HUTRCS ( head-up-the-rectal-cavity-syndrome ). In other words: Liberalism!

It should be said that not all who have this disease exhibit the same symptoms as Hal, e.g, talking and walking late, or breast-feeding into his mid teens, etc; Never the less, all those who are afflicted with HUTRCS are oblivious to reason, logic, and facts.

So, I hope this explains why Hal--who is in his sixties--acts like a giddy teenage girl ( or boy ) and uses " LMAO " and " LOL " to express himself.

Thank you for your time.

A story for Anne

A first grade teacher named Dr. Douglas, is explaining to his class that he is a Democrat, and a far left wingnut, and how nice it is that a new Democratic left wing nut president has taken office.

He asks his students to raise their hands if they, too, are Democrats and support Obama. Everyone in class raises their hands except one little girl. "Anne," says the teacher with surprise, "why didn't you raise your hand?" Because I'm not a Democrat," says Anne. "Well, what are you?" asks the teacher.

"I'm a Republican and proud of it," replies the little girl. The teacher cannot believe her ears. "My goodness, Anne, why are you a Republican?" she asks. "Well, my momma and papa are Republicans, so I'm a Republican, too."

"Well," says Dr. Douglas in an annoyed tone, "that's no reason for you to be a Republican. You don't always have to be like your parents. What if your momma was a criminal and your papa was a criminal, too, what would you be then?"

Anne smiled. "Then we'd be Democrats."

Jay Leno was prophetic
Leno on having a lawyer for a president in 2004:

John Edwards is a seasoned trial lawyer. You think a lawyer would make a good president? You know I look at it this way, if we're going to consistently have liars in the White House, why not get a professional?" —Jay Leno

So, we did. One form Hawvaaaard.

Just look at the dates of your Polling Report.Com compared to RealClear Politics Polling Dates.

RealClear Politics has two of the same up to date polls and others that are as recent and up to date, compared to those other Polling Reports.Com out of date Polls.

Ha. Yea, you said it all! That was good.

Are all Right Winger's Autistic?
I've been struck by the fact that anytime a right winger is directly challenged with a question on this site that they ignore it as though it were some kind of indiscretion. Is this becuase they suffer from some kind of mental malady or is it becuase they truly have no response?

Not So Fast
With all this talk about the GOP rebounding and such, I just have one question to ask:

Has anyone read the Republican Road to Recovery, which is the GOPs answer to the next stimulus phase?

If you haven't, I'll give you a short and sweet precis...

It's a steaming pile of shite.

Look, I want to have the Dems go down in a blaze of glory, but if the above reference is any guide, it is clear that the GOP doesn't have anything on the table yet.

Until the GOP quits crapping their pants and actually offers, you know, some ideas, Obama's Party is going to continue to damage this country with their idiocy.

Response: No.

There, direct enough for you Mark? Did I miss answering any of your points?

Anderson659, so no response?
In other words you have no response. I should have known so.

I bet if you were

Hello, this is HAL. Sorry I cn't talk right now but I've been sucking on Obammy all night. Please leave a message at the sound of the dink.

How many seats change hands? By my count (read my previous entries) The Democratic Party picks up about five seats net scientifically. Thus after the next cycle the Democratic Party has 64 seats or so. Anyone who thinks otherwise is wishing and is not evaluating.

Er, Doctor (I use the term as loosely as Dr. Dipsh!t does), in arriving at your 'diagnosis', was it you who ordered and assisted with Hal's rectum exam using your mop handle in order to determine if in fact he had 'laughed his a$$ off'?

I assume, before the test, you had to extract Hal's head and thereby interrupt his lunch. Did you think to bring a dilldo big enough to pacify him?

Can't you?

Yes Athens Bob gets his, Ms.Wobbie never complains, even when he forgets to wipe her off.

I wonder where his next fantasy will be? Perhaps we should send him Total Recall to help him out.

Dear grubby, It was I who ordered the exam, but I offered no physical assistance in said exam, because I thought it was time to pass the mop handle to my protege. The extent of my participation was limited to supervision.

And to answer your question about the dilldo. . . .yes, I borrowed Ranger29's.

'off for the days work'

What's that? Hal's acting dilldo? How much does he pay - or do you settle for head?

Hal Donahue's Psychiatrist
Tough work - I sympathize. Those gov't jobs were meant for the mentally impaired and amorally degenerate. The pay is never enough for anyone who has competence and a sense of self respect.

I salute your dedication to public service.

PS I never read Hal Dumbfuk ...or Wobbie Wagholder - but I do sometimes get a chuckle from those who are acquainted.

mark the dim troll
so your weak theory is that americans are in a mad rush to be taken to the cleaners by the dims. That americans not only welcome the coming deficits but can't wait for them to get even larger and then go into rapture for the huge tax increases.

It is one thing for any president to work with congress to make things better in the country. But we have a situation where the three corrupt stooges, flap ears, pelousy and corrupt land deal reid are working to destroy the america that allowed them to achieve fame and fortune.

Perhaps losers like you welcome 3rd world status and think that we will be a better nation when all live in poverty but like all the lefties you have yet to make your case why the earners must be puinished to reward the losers the dims enable.

If you lefties were truyly compassionatre you would demand people take care of their own lives and responsibilities by achieving with their lives rather than demanding more assistance and handouts from the dims.

So tell us genius, how does giving corrupt land deal $10 billion in pork to build a rail road from LA to vegas grow the economy or make things better for americans living in florida or montana.

You lefties cried when bush had a deficit of $200 billion, flap ears and the dims will put through $2 trillion this year alone and you think that will make the voters switch to voting for more dims to loot the treasury

Troll or eunuch? Troll or eunuch?
Better to be trolls than political eunuchs. Enjoy the Wilderness, conservatives.

END OF ARGUMENT...NOT SO FAST!

Tim my good man, I would like to know which RCP polls you are referencing (i.e. the dates) and the particular poll numbers you are referring to so that I might do the averages and see where the number of 36.5% actually comes from.

Numerical gymnastics aside, I still contend that the RCP average of polls is for the generic question of Congressional approval rating per se and not for the Democrats specifically. The fact that the Dems control Congress at this point in time does nothing to obviate the negative veiws of the GOP on the Hill as it relates to the figure of 36.5% in the RCP average of polling.

You may be right, I am just asking you to provide me the specific details so that I can prove it to myself.

Thanks.

SJ Gulitti !

Look At:http://www.realclearpolitics.com/polls/

Look at: Congressional Job Approval Polls,CBS 3/20-3/22,NPR 3/10-3/14,Gallup 3/5-3/8,Fox 3/3=3/4.
Only Polling Report CBS is as up to date.

Now look at Direction of The Country.
Obviously, that takes into account The Obama Executive and Congress.

What's your Question ? The March ,up to Date Polls, even Daily Kos ,pretty much agree around 35 Percent Right Direction,56.8 WRONG DIRECTION !

Follow Now ?

The Genuine Cactushead,
It's all about investing in our country's future. Instead of worrying about how much revenue needs to be raised you would be wise to learn how to raise that revenue by minimizing the deadweight loss. But that would require you taking a course in university economics. Oops!

Tim @3:11PM 3/30/09
Tim,

I reviewed the RCP polling stats that you referenced and I actually went inside some of the polls for the particulars and as I have previously stated and as those polls bear out the 36.5% approval rating is for Congress as a whole and not for the Dems in on the hill specifically.

Moreover, you are incorrect in you use of the right direction / wrong direction statistics. Yestarday's ABC/Washington Post poll numbers show that in October of 2008 only 13% of respondents felt that the country was on the right track as opposed to 42% now. With regard to wrong track its 85% in October of 2008 vs 57% now. Many commentators on the Right are trying to use the right track / wrong track stats as evidence that Obama is failing but they actually reveal that he is succeding in turning around the public's perception of the problem. Furthermore four out of five respondents don't blame Obama for the current crisis in America and he has a current favorable rating of 66% as of the latest polling. That same poll shows the Congressional Republicans with a approval rating of 25%.

I am standing on my contention that the 36.5% favorable rating for Congress is a generic one and not a poll number specific to the Democrats on the Hill. You will have to go inside the individual polls you cited and prove otherwise.
