Will the Dems' health care Christmas Present to America be an improvement or detriment to our health care system?

ST. PAUL-The one thing that Democrats, Republicans and analysts agreed on regarding Republican vice-presidential nominee Sarah Palin was that the double standards on parenting directed toward her crossed all kinds of lines.

“I think it is highly sexist to suggest that Sarah Palin cannot be a good mom and run for office,” said Kate Michelman, an adviser to Democrat Barack Obama.

Michelman, a premier advocate of abortion rights, faced a different form of sexism during the run-up to the Democrats’ primaries: MSNBC hardballer Chris Matthews asserted that she had “abandoned her commitment to the women’s movement” by backing Obama instead of Hillary Clinton.

So much for the glass ceiling being broken.

“Sexism is all over the place,” said Purdue political science professor Bert Rockman. “It’s assumed that the mom will do everything at home and maybe work 60 hours a week, too. But if things go wrong, it’s her fault, not dad’s.”

Mike Huckabee, former Arkansas governor and Republican presidential candidate, says what he heard and saw while attending last week’s GOP convention here was “sexism from the media in the worst way.” He reinforced a point that Michelman and Rockman both said: “Nobody has ever asked a male candidate running for office whether it was inappropriate for him to run for office while he had children.”

If that infamous glass ceiling has been shattered, Michelman, Rockman and Huckabee all say they’ve seen no evidence of it.

“Sorry to say, but we have a long way to go towards gender equity,” Rockman added. “Were Hillary not already a major public figure and the wife of a popular former president, would she have been able to put the money together to forge a competitive campaign? I doubt it.”

Like it or not, sexism -- like racism and ageism -- is part of our culture. But it exists on an entirely different plane; much of it is based on how American society conducts its daily life.

Americans work longer hours than just about anyone else in the world and, without any established child-care system in place, that becomes a private expense. In countries where women routinely share power or even constitute a majority of the political elite, far more time off is allowed and day care for children is provided.

In some places (Sweden and Norway, for example), fathers as well as mothers take turns leading neighborhood play groups for children.

Although the U.S. Supreme Court, going back to Buckley v. Valeo in 1976, has ruled against restrictions on political campaigning as a violation of First Amendment rights, what it really has done is to say that money rules our politics. So long as that is the case, women will find it difficult to shatter that glass ceiling -- unless they have a spouse who already is networked.

Notice that women are fairly well-represented in the political elite of American states where running for office is fairly inexpensive. The appointment process also works better than the electoral process when the costs of running for office are so high.

Since much of the media is perceived to lean left and to favor Democrats, some people will argue that press negativity toward Palin could be blamed on the Democratic Party.

Both former Pennsylvania governor Tom Ridge and GOP House Majority Leader Tom DeLay believe that will be a problem for Democrats, even if they did not perpetuate the press coverage.

DeLay's response to the media is, “Bring it on.”

Franklin & Marshall political science professor Terry Madonna says the only danger for the Obama campaign is if it buys into some of the sexist arguments of the leftwing blogosphere.

According to an ABC News poll, 61 percent of all mothers work outside the home in some capacity. That is a lot of voters on Election Day.

And if the media continue to question Palin’s ability to mother her family and to serve her country at the same time, that is a lot of female fury to scorn.

Democrats hoping to earn that female vote will be wise to distance themselves from the media on this one. Just ask any hurting Hillary supporters if they’re over their perception of political sexism.

Pure cynicism
I don't think the smear artists are really sexist. They don't believe women should stay home to raise the kids any more than Obama believes the surge was wrong and has failed to produce the results we need. These are just more cynical arguments of convenience for them.

Bill Clinton tried the same thing against Obama in the primaries. Bill isn't racist, but he cynically tried to play on the fears that he thinks many voters have about electing a black president. He not only misjudged the racism of his intended audience, but he provoked a backlash against his wife's campaign. Far-left hatemongers are now creating the same effect with their disgusting and dishonest attacks on Sarah Palin.

Sexism
we conservatives do not have a problem with feminism, we have a problem with liberal feminists. these are the ones that claim to support all women but tear to shreds any woman who happens to be conservative.

who says todd palin could not stay home to raise the kids, did anybody ask?

Leftist, feminist BS
The middle part of this column makes me wonder if Zito is one of those people who think men and women are interchangeable. We're not. Women are better equipped to raise children than we men are. (God help us all if men become the primary child rearers!) Men and women both have crucial roles in raising children, but they are inherently different roles. Sometimes the man will decide to stay home with the kids while the woman is the primary earner, but usually that isn't the case. Either way, their roles within that larger framework remain different.

Child care "becomes a private expense"??? That's how it almost always was (before socialism) and should be. And in what way do women not "share power" in the U.S.? Women enjoy more rights - the same as men - here than anywhere else in the world. Most women simply choose other careers, including homemaking. There is nothing stopping women from becoming a corporate CEO, a Senator, Speaker of the House, or Sec of State. The U.S. is the best example of a meritocracy anywhere in the world and at any time in history. Americans are limited only by our own abilities, desire, and ambition.

And what's this garbage about women being disadvantaged because "money rules our politics"? Zito provides no evidence that women have a more difficult time raising contributions than men do. And the idea that "money rules our politics" is not as bad as it may seem; money raised by candidates often is a reflection of their support among the voters.

One more point
Zito claims that women have an easier time winning elections in small states "where running for office is fairly inexpensive." But men have the same limitations in those states. If men in those states are competing for the same limited funds, then according to Zito they should be able to get more funding than women. That's no different than the dynamics in larger states. It just means that instead of running TV ads 10 times a day in each of their state's 60 markets, the small-state candidates run TV ads 10 times a day in each of their state's 20 markets. Or does Zito have evidence that small-state candidates raise less money per voter than large-state candidates?

This column provides little more than generalizations, oversimplification, and innuendo.

a woman as a person

My feeling is simple. The woman who takes her own chances in society has every right to do it, within moral bounds. If she fails, that's too bad. Nobody laughs when men fail, and plenty of us do.

Judge the individual woman. If she starts with an advantage, more power to her. That isn't a stigma. Her work is what defines her. She doesn't have to listen to the public one way or another. Some will distinguish themselves and some won't. Same as with men.

We must judge them in politics as individuals, as we judge men.

Nothing is more impressive than a great woman. Just because all of them can't be great, won't deter the great ones.

Thats because men's sexism is actually about sex.

Its women who see sexism in each and every topic know to mankind.

If women were like men, none of us would be sexists would we?
Maybe not accepting there really are differences is these feminists problem.
I do not have one myself, and I do not know any other men that do have a problem.
Its always whining women, why is that?

If you really want to be equal, shut and quit whining and take what you want from the men and that will make you equal.

All this whining you are doing here makes me not want to be around women.
If...they were all like you, that is, and thank God they are not.

Innocence
Sexism in America is alive & well. Much is subtle, but the facts are there if one is willing to open there eyes & ears to it.
That said, what is really disgusting about reactions to Sarah Palin is not the sexism, but that it came vociferously from liberals. To be specific, it came from "liberal" women.
Liberal women believe in women so long as they are "liberal women." A conservative woman cannot be liberated, or a feminist, because, she is not a "liberal woman." They act as though they alone own being a woman.
Palin, has a husband she is in love with, five children, a special needs child & she decided, even after knowing the child was afflicted with Down Syndrome, to keep the child (an abortion was never on the table for her!). Palin has a 17 y/o daughter who failed in "HER OWN" judgment & became pregnant. Liberals are angry because the daughter decided to keep her child & marry the father.
Liberals are angry because the Palin women did not have abortions. That is their true anger. For liberals, this is all about, abortion!
Oh the pain of it all. Sarah Palin has done exactly opposite what liberal women are expected to do. Sarah Palin has lived up to her conservative credentials.
THAT is why liberal women & men are screaming. They are angry that a woman, any woman, would actually decide to have children, special needs children, and still, become governor of a state.
A state with over 20,000 employees, an $11 billion dollar budget that is balanced, & which she had to fight for the job, plus she had to fight even her own party establishment cronies & dump a number of them.
Palin is the modern day example of "women can have it all!" Liberals are out of their minds with anger & fear that what they championed is shown possible, by a conservative woman."

The truth is obvious...
We are the product of our choices. Any woman who chooses career over family WILL reap the consequences. Bristol Palin is a testament to that truth. For most conservative religious families, a teenage pregnancy is still considered shameful, at least here in the South.

If we choose to leave the home, we must be willing to accept any distasteful consequences. And that is the truth.

Look . . .
. . . if Sarah Palin were a liberal woman, the media would already be touting her for Mount Rushmore. Unfortunately, their sanctimonious view of the world blinds them to their own hipocrisy.

The majority of men who post here
blame women for every problem children have. They believe that men should be free to pursue any avenues of life they choose, even abandoning their wives or the mothers of their babies (all types of men often believe that if women get pregnant, that is WOMANS problem and SHE is the one to deal with it)but anything that goes wrong in the family is HER fault no matter what HE is doing or not doing.

It was not long ago that women were not allowed even to visit the pitlane, because a man who saw a woman would be unable to think of anything but sex. Nowadays men and women share the pitlane and they do it without the men having an irresistable urge to have sex with their mechanics. The day will come when men and women can take equal responsibility in the home, too. Believe it or not, some men are better at child care than some women.

Popular wisdom that is false
“Sexism is all over the place,” said Purdue political science professor Bert Rockman. “It’s assumed that the mom will do everything at home and maybe work 60 hours a week, too. But if things go wrong, it’s her fault, not dad’s.”

If you repeat a falsehood often enough, it become popular fact! Feminists like to portray all women as working fulltime jobs and doing all the domestic work as well. Many studies and the reality you see with your own eyes tell you this is false.

Studies show that married men and women put a very similar number of hours of effort in behalf of their families. With all the families I know, the husband puts more focus into work outside the home and income generation, but also expends many hours on family and home related chores. The women tend to focus on the home. Some of the women do not work outside the home, and other do.

Many statistics show that more and more women are choosing to quit jobs or scale back careers to focus on family and home. Of the women who are choosing to focus on home and family, and disproportionate number of them are in the “powerful” class of college educated women who have the most options to select from.

The comment that failures in the home are considered to be the mother’s fault and not dad’s is laughable. Our society has developed a sick obsession for seeing all situations with women being the hapless victim. There is an entire industry consisting of feminist organizations, mass media, and politicians dedicated to defining women as the universal victim.

sexism
Why didn't the msm attack N. Pelosi? I believe she has 5 children. To attack Bristol is dispicable, and don't give me that B.S. about the fact she was fair game because she was in a picture or that her mother told the truth about her pregnancy. The left in this country have no ethics. They love to shout about the c0nservatives the err,but act like they never have or ever will.

I agree -we need to do more for equality
"“Sorry to say, but we have a long way to go towards gender equity,” Rockman added."

We need more real equality... and not just the cherry-picking kind.

93% of occupational fatalities are male
99% of military casualties are male
80% family court rulings give primary custody to mothers
75% of divorces are initiated by wives
85% of suicides are male
75% of family incomes come from the father’s outside labor
80% of family spending is controlled by females

The list of shocking reality that contradicts the popular "female is victim" obsession goes on and on.

If one honestly looks at the big picture, a reasonable person would see fathers/husbands/males as being the ones who are exploited.

Get off the ridiculous “women are oppressed” crap!

Some corrections
I'm guessing Zito thinks it more progressive that other countries take over child care so the mothers can work and support the state, and that fathers lead playgroups. She seems unaware that fathers here in America lead playgroups too.
I absolutely think most parents should raise their own children (that means caring for them the majority of their waking hours) during those tender years of at least birth to ages 3/4. Our children are ours, not the government's. At least for now, in the US.
Regarding Sarah Palin: Remember, except for Trig, and Track, her children are in school the majority of the day. She doesn't have to deal with "running the household duties", she can bring Trig with her...AND she has her husband Todd Palin..hello Dad!...who from what I've heard, is not "working" in the traditional sense since her election to Gov. of Alaska.
Bristol is basically an adult now. The media treats her like a little girl. Odd, since the left thinks girls are "women" and should have privacy, particularly from their parents, down to at least age 12...so they seem to tell us.

sexism
As an engineer I have worked with men all of my life and tell you that many fully support their families both financially and emotionally. Unfortunately, there are some who still think a woman's place is in the home, taking care of him.

Having said that, Sarah Palin and her husband made the decision to have five kids. Somebody needs to take care of them and from what she has said that person is her mother. Maybe her mother enjoys looking after the kids but did Sarah ask her before she had all of them? Was it fair to grandma or the kids?

The Palins are lucky they have someone who can look after the kids and have enough money to hire caretakers if something should happen to her mom. Many people don't have that option especially when they find their wages don't even cover the daycare expenses.

I agree that Bristol's personal life should be off limits however Sarah's opinions on sex education and abstinence do need to be examined in light of Bristol's pregnancy. If Sarah had just handed her daughter a package of condoms and said if you are going to do something I don't approve of at least use protection. Study after study shows abstinence does not work, but condoms do.

I was a little shocked when Ms. Palin said she was happy with Bristol's decision to have the baby. Sounds like Bristol had a choice in the matter. I guess Ms. Palin is Pro-choice after all.

Will is wrong...again!
We haven't said "women" have to raise their children...we've said that parents are responsible for raising their children. If the father is willing and able to do so, all the better! The real "choice" is whatever works for any particular family, putting their children first. I find it so ironic that liberals change their definitions to suit the occasion; a 17 year old who decides to have an abortion without her parents' knowledge or consent is an "adult" who can make up her own mind. However, if she decides to keep her baby, and to marry its father, she is a "child" who needs her mother's total attention. Phonies!

But It's All They Have
It's All They Have
We should not be kind in the condemnation of the DNC running-dog lackeys’ attacks on Sarah’s credibility: after all, It's All They Have. It just sux to be a Democrat right now: no real ideas, no fathomable spirituality, and no safety nets under the platform. Surviving the media warthogs is the least of Mrs. Palins’ worries, I think, because the cattiness of the femi-nazi is just getting warmed up. Next, from the worst of them in The View, we’ll hear that her shoes don’t match her skirt (by the way, did you notice that at the GOP acceptance speech last night that a pantsuit was not present?) or, perhaps the media darlings will endlessly discuss the temerity her second youngest daughter displayed to kiss and play with her baby brother when she should have been listening to the speeches: but then, after all, It’s All They Have.

shoes and skirts
I could really care less what Ms. Palin wears since it pales in comparison to the high end designer outfits that Ms. McCain wears. At least Ms. McCain could have selected something attractive if she was going to pay several thousand dollars for it. Classic example of more money than taste.

Sandra
so are you now a Prada officionda?
classic example of more jealousy than brains
but then again- i bet you are a K-Mart Queen

It ISN'T sexism...
... it's ideology. Liberals are using the "shouldn't-she-stay-at-home" issue the same way they're using the "experience" issue - only as far as it helps them. If they are hypocritical or inconsistent, well, that's the way they've always been.

All for black accomplishment? Sure! Unless that black is a conservative like Colin Powell, Clarence Thomas or Condoleezza Rice. Against rape and sexual harassment? Absolutely. Unless the rapist or harasser is a popular politician who supports abortion. Vocal against the wealthy? Always. Unless those with wealth live in Hollywood and vote Democrat. Or made their money on the speakers' circuit and vote Democrat. Or apologize for their wealth by advocating for confiscatory taxation and wealth redistribution, and vote Democrat.

People who fall for the "sexism" argument are missing the point entirely.

make up your minds
Would you guys make up your minds. Apparently Democrats are either shopping at K-Mart or cultural elitists. James: Do you really think a professional engineer is shopping for her clothes in K-Mart. My point that you obviously missed is that the McCains are the elites not the Obamas.

Cindy McCain inherited her father's beer distribution business and is worth over $100 million and owns somewhere around 8 homes. John's father and grandfather were both high ranking Navy Admirals who paid for John to go to a private prep school and got him into the Naval Academy where John proceeded to mostly party and get in trouble graduating 894 out of 899 in his class. Whereas Barack put himself through Harvard Law and graduated at the top of his class.

John McCain cheated repeatedly on his first crippled wife, then dumps her when he finds Cindy who was a much younger and richer model. Is that a Christian standard? There is a real double standard here when it comes to cheating on your wife. You guys all through Edwards under the bus for doing the exact same thing as McCain but you excuse McCain.

Also James, you are correct if you don't have sex you will not get pregnant. The problem is kids do have sex and they do get pregnant. It is an important issue that deserves a respectful conversation not pandering one liners.

Sexism rears its ugly head
only when the candidate is a republican. Democrats seem truly anxious about the appeal of this woman so are out to destroy her.

Democrats are putting forth the notion they care more about women because republicans are not advocating for equal pay for equal work. I would like to know exactly where the problem exists given that so many working women are now protected by union contracts and state abd federal laws.

50 years ago,I worked for a child protection agency where the men were paid more because supposedly they had greater need as the head of households and this position was openly presented.. No business would dare do that in this day and age.

sexism
Didn't Joe Biden stay in office as the lone parent after family tragedy took his wife and 2
of his kids? Seems to me he must have been needed more than ever, but chose to continue to
go to Washington.

Sexism
I am old enough to have been a product of the 1970's when the women's movement was going strong, declaring that women could have it all, a career and a family. We became aware that we had choices, stay home and be a housewife & Mother or go out into a man's world and work life hell, taking care of family and career at the same time. I chose to do that in the 1970's, as millions of women have. I raised two fine sons, and ran a business very successfully. Has the feminist movement flipped-flopped like Obama always does and declared a woman can't do it all in 2008? Come on Gals, you have betrayed your Gender for the sake of a smooth talking Democrat. I voted for John Kennedy and he is no John Kennedy!

Sexism
Personally I could care less if Palin has twenty kids and goes to work as long as she and her husband can find a way to take care of them. I don't like Palin because I don't like her politics and her lifestyle. Sorry folks but I refuse to vote for anybody who thinks chasing down a wild wolf with a helicopter and then shooting it with a high powered rifle and maybe or maybe not killing it is sport.

I refuse to vote for someone who thinks global warming is not due to man's impact on the environment.

I refuse to vote for someone who has zero national or international experience and isn't allowed to talk to the press because they might ask her a question she can't answer.

I refuse to vote for someone who supported the bridge to no where until it became a political hot potato and then didn't support it but took the money anyway. Part of that money built a $27 million road to the bridge that never got built. She lied when she said she turned down the earmark.

I refuse to vote for someone who tried to fire the town librarian for not taking books off the shelf that Sarah didn't like.

I refuse to vote for someone who says it was her daughter's choice to have the baby but tries to tell me I will have no choice.

I refuse to vote for someone who doesn't want to give her condoms and teach her sex education.

By the way I agree with her in teaching creationism is school because I think kids she be taught as much as possible and make up their own minds. As long as all other theories are on the teaching agenda I have no problem with it.

The perfect model
Our Blessed Mother. There is no woman above her. She was a stay at home mom, a helper in her community, a model of faith, a disciple, and the MOTHER OF GOD.

Sandra
I think that if we have a choice to kill our babies we should also have a choice to kill our wolves.

My kind of Man
As far as I am concerned Palin is more macho than half the republicans and 99% of the Democrats! She changed my mind about voting for McCain.

Sandra let me guess
who the lying SOS you are going to vote for is. Good luck to you and all you phony feminists.

Sandra
I see you are a jealous female.Jealous of Mrs.McCains money, which she earned and jealous of Sarah's beauty, perhaps because you have neither.

JohnnyP two more items
For every male born there are 106 females. Average life span for males 78 for a women 88.
That makes females a minority? Boy are we stupid or what?
I dont care what gender or race a person is its what they stand for thats important. Give me a black Margaret Thatcher and she'd get my vote every time.
Go Sarah! If Obama wasnt full of BS he'd have picked Hillary as VP. Didn't, I figure he was afraid of her being too strong a running mate.

Hey will
Conservatives are not pro feminists they are about treating people all the same of course I understand why you cant delineate that.

Here is some news for all
Who say some men still think a woman's place is in the home.

That is right.
There is nothing you are going to do about it either.

no answers
I must have hit a few points you folks don't want to address. There is mostly sniping here and very little in the way of actual facts. If you just want to listen to the party line and not do research or think for yourself then you are voting for the correct people.

I was raised to believe Christians were kind, compassionate people who supported their communites, helped out in charities, and gave money to the poor.

The Republicans are all about big business, taking care of their powerful friends, shipping jobs overseas where the labor costs are less and generally keeping the status quo so they can make even more money. You guys are too brainwashed to see past the fact that the Republican Party is using the social christians to get votes. They don't give a stink about you after you vote for them.

A friend of mine from overseas one day asked me how a christian could be a Republican when the Republicans were all about big money, big corporations and not about helping the poor. I didn't have an answer for him.

And by the way Jax33 if you are voting for McCain because you thing Palin is good looking you really need to examine your thinking. Maybe you shouldn't vote.

Sandra
Your posts are a glaring example of why it is sometimes extremely difficult to take women seriously. I realize that you are a distinct minority and not indicative of most women (Audi, don't come down on me, I didn't mean you). Your drivel isn't helpful and actually sets women back.

Dimocrats trumped . . .
Scared, threatened and hypocritical to the core, they have reached their Waterloo in their vacuous rhetoric and soulless idealism. I finally watched "Manufacturing Dissent" last night since Gustav stole my cable and it's quite apparent that the "prophetic" babblings of fat slackers who manipulate the truth "Goebbels-like" has been swallowed like kool-aid in Jonestown by the willing and the weak. We don't need to fear BHO being "antichrist" because there are enough false prophets running around the DNC and Hollywood that make him look mild by comparison.

And pit bulls are kind of cute with lipstick . . .

midfielder
Your post is a perfect example of what I was saying. No facts just an attack. Would you like to clarify what you consider to be drivel in my comment. Sending jobs going over seas? Cutting funding to the poor? Trying to cut social security? Trying to cut Medicare? How can you call yourself a Christian and do that?

To Sandra
Read the book "The Big Ripoff" by Timothy Carney and you will find out that the most money grabbing friends of big business are people like Charles Shumer, Dick Durbin, Nancy Pelosi etc. Most of the Democrats in the Congress and Senate have been handing out corporate subsidies for years.

In your own state of Florida the sugar subsidies are enriching one family and keeping competition at bay.

truetolife
First: You must be voting for Obama if you think women should stay at home.

Second: I don't believe in abortion and never said I did. What I did say was Palin has no right to say her child was allowed the decision to keep or not keep her baby, that would be called a choice, when she is telling me that I don't. Don't you see the hypocrisy of that?

Third: I don't see how anyone can shoot an animal. It makes my skin crawl but to chase down an animal with a helicopter until it is almost dead from exhaustion is cruel. There is nothing tough about it and there is nothing Christian about it.

LL in LA
It sounds like you watched a right wing propoganda film about Michael Moore who makes left wing propoganda movies and believed everything the film tells you to believe. As far as scared. You bet your little Christian behind I am. This country cannot afford another eight years of Republican policies that have plunged us into a recession, have created an housing crisis and started a needless war we can't end.

Sandra according to you
Al Gore and Edwards are Republicans. BTW who is George Soros? Most republicans are either blue collar or small to middle business men. These people are the ones who put a lot of money into social security, health care, taxes in general, and believe government should be effective. The republicans are all about the rich is BS they are all about ALL of us should have the opportunity to be rich someday.
In my opinion its you who needs to do some research and stop buying the party line.

LL in LA
Ooops. I fogot to mention the $10 trillion debt our country now has of which the last $5 trillion was run up by the fiscal conservatives is office now. These guys have run up a bigger debt in the last 8 years then all of the Adminstrations before them combined. It is also owed mostly to the Saudis and the Chineese which also scares me.

Sandra you want facts
Then do the research and look up what recession is. As a christian can you defined a needed war?
I am a christian and I realize I am not Christ like. I do the best I can while trying to protect and support my family and country. To argue that you are not a Christian because you prioritize your assets that way is totally inane.

Once Again...
Palin is proof that once again, Republicans don't TALK about equality, they LIVE it. George Bush didn't TALK about equality for blacks, he appointed a black man and woman to two of the most powerful positions in his administration. John McCain didn't TALK about equality for women, he CHOSE Sarah Palin.

The libs and the MSM are going nuts about this because, while they TALK a big game about equality for blacks and women, they don't really believe in it - unless the blacks and women in question have the "correct" leftist beliefs. And they don't put their votes and their political appointments where their mouths are (see America's first black president Bill Clinton for proof). They don't believe this stuff they spew, they just think it sounds good.

not to vote because he thinks Palin is good looking (she is by the way) then in that same vein 90% of blacks shouldn't vote for Obama because hes black or a democrat.

Sandra as a christian
McCain gets forgiven for cheating he has asked for forgiveness. How about Bill Clinton? Oh BTW maybe just maybe 5 1/2 years of torture confused his priorities a bit.

idiotic statement. what proof do you have of this claim?

Put a 4 year old boy in one room, a 4 years old girl in another, and give them each a box of exactly the same toys.

Come back in 15 minutes, and you will find the girl, with a doll in the box, rocking it back and forth.

Go to the boy’s room and he will be sitting in the box, making engine noise, driving to the store.

In all nature, all creatures I have heard of, the female is the most important one as far as little ones are concerned.

As in much of nature, and with males like Ranger29, the only time they showed any interest in anything to do with a child, was during the sex act.

Well, not everyone, and not all the time.

Birth control Pills

There are two birth control pills that have been available for many years, and they work 100% if properly used.

One is an aspirin pill. Instructions, “Clasp firmly between the knees … … .

The other is a pill called Noassatall.

cheating?
How do you know McCain cheated on his wife, anymore than Barry may have cheated on his?...and besides...during the "Slick Willie" years,we were sold the message that those sorts of "carryings-on" were cool. Remember...in the Lib circle, cheating, drugs and lying are resume enhansers.

hagar
You forgave McCain because he asked for forgiveness? You can sit there with a straight face and forgive a guy who came home and found not the model he married before the war but a cripple. So he dumps the woman who raised his kids to marry a rich, beautiful, young wife who bought him a seat in the Senate. That is my definition of scum. Also, once a cheat, always a cheat.

hagar
Not what I said. If you are going to vote for Palin ONLY because she is good looking you shouldn't vote. Hopefully there are other good reasons to vote for your candidate of choice.

txdaddad
Um- McCain admitted to it. There is no question he did. Did you do any research on your candidate.

Freedom of Religion, always

As I have said several times, I wish the word abortion would never be used by any politician, just forget it.

Since so many people have combined their thoughts about abortion with their thoughts about religion, let’s take a look at the First Amendment, or at least some of the ways that Amendment is interpreted.

It would seem we could all agree that the Government can not make a law about what clothes a Catholic Priest or a pastor can wear, or what procedures can be used in services, such as baptism, and on and on.

Well, since most of you agree that freedom of religion is important, and you insist that your religion says this and that about abortion, why is it that you do not permit freedom of religion as it is interpreted by each and every person, based on their religion?

You don’t like the Government making any law concerning how your children must act concerning sex, that’s your problem, and it is your problem to deal with the results if they don’t follow your instructions, whatever they were.

Just think, many places the Nanny government is telling you what you should eat, and that you should not use a gun to withdraw money from the bank, so what is next.

new trolls...
Aren't we seeing a lot of new names on TH since the announcement of Sarah Palin on the Republican ticket? I don't recall seeing half the names that I see now. They are like cats, once you feed them they will NEVER go away. While I have no problem with cats I do know how to deter a cat from problem behavior, throw hot water on it and then ignore it, it will go away.

As soon as I see some obnoxious poster throwing around "Christianity and condoms" in the same sentence I ignore the post.

There's nothing worse than some sanctimonious meme stretching about something they have no idea about or desire to know about, as if sitting there demeaning someone is going to change their mind or make them more open to your point of view. The only thing it does do is prove to others what kind of fool the poster really is and proves that Christianity is no part of the posters life at all.

As my Grandmother used to say, "Some people, if they had any brains they would take them out and play with them."

obama between a rock & a hard place

I've pondered the reasons Obama didn't ask Hillary to run as VP.

It was the dream ticket. We have to see the rock & a hard place Obama was caught between.

Speaking of sexism; who was it said the female of a species is deadlier than the male? Hillary was OUT; since Obambi looked at it realistically. If she gets a heartbeat away from being president, in 6 months he would've gone to the ER ten times for any number of mysterious illnesses.

Before long we would be holding memorial services for the Siamese Cat Who Walks Like a Man.

Too risky having the Hildebeast around the president of the U.S. That's a strong woman for you!

Sandra
First, I never said that a woman should always be at home. So I guess I won't be voting for Obama--I'm not an OBAMA MAMA.
Second, Sarah Palin never said that her daughter had the CHOICE to kill her child in the manner in which feminists "choose" to kill their children. Do you see your mistake in that?
Third, there's nothing wrong with killing animals. Just killed a chipmunk in my sister in laws basement yesterday. The little terror has escaped every trap (including a live trap) for the past two weeks. The bucket 'o death worked though.... Usually those "buckets" of death are kept right at the end of the death table when women "accidentally" give birth to "aborted" babies. There's a LOT wrong with that.

drednaught
Very good point. Don't overlook the possibility of the Clintons still having mysterious "deaths" surrounding certain people....pulling another "Vince Foster," so to speak.

will is right on this one
Socons believe and have loudly advocated that women should sacrifice high-powered careers and stay at home OR marginalize their careers because such careers do not allow enough time to spend with the children. But when Sarah Palin goes in full-throttle for just such an ultra high-powered career, they say there is no reason she cannot do it--even with her problematic family situation that would require above-average parenting time. They are even putting forth Todd Palin as the primary care giver, despite the fact that yesteryear, they decried stay-at-home dads and called child-rearing the mother's God-given responsibility.

If, by her very belief system, she should not be careering, then she should be questioned on it. Is she distancing herself from that belief, is she living by hypocrisy, or does she plan to have 9-to-3 hours as VP?

Listen to Wendy the Caregiver!

You see nothing bad about aborting a living human being; yet here you are flying the flag for the Palin kids?

They're AMERICANS, Wendy. We aren't living in that Nanny State yet.

Sarah's youngsters will respond to any challenge with inborn American guts!
They've been raised where wussies do not sit at the dinner table; only WINNERS!

They're not abashed standing with their Mama in the glare of the klieg-lights; and grinning in the thunderous applause; IT'S FOR MY MOM! is what their faces tell us! They were thrilled at our joyful convention. They can't wait to see Mom take the oath of office. Americans are people of FAITH!

Wendy
If this were Michelle Obama's daughter--she would have quietly killed the baby and there would have been NO controversy. Only controversy is that we have a real pretty, real mom, real strong, real woman--a Republican!!!!! Eats at you doesn't it?? Don't you wish you were real pretty, a real mom, real strong and a real woman instead of a feminist lemming??

truetolife
Sarah Palin said she was proud of the DECISION that Bristol made to have her child. How does that differ than having a CHOICE???? What was Bristol going to do if she decided not to have the child??? I only know of one alternative. Now if she had said Bristol was thinking about giving it up for adoption that would be a different matter.

Only Liberal Moms Can Work
It's interesting that two high profile women who want to climb the political ladder haven't said much about women with children out working since it's the liberals who promoted the idea that us young moms in the 70's could have it all and that we should get out of the house and put our kids in day care, when there weren't any, and get out and work. Where are all of those women who supported this idea? Why aren't they behind the concept of Palin just like they were okay with the concept as long as those women were liberal democrats. It appears that there's a double standard that it's okay for moms to work if they're liberal democrats, but not if they're Republicans?

Truetolife
"If this were Michelle Obama's daughter--she would have quietly killed the baby and there would have been NO controversy."

This is possibly one of the most disgusting things I have read on this post and possibly anywhere else. You don't know this, you are making stuff up to justify yourself. You don't know Michelle Obama or her family well enough to know what would happen if this happened to one of their children. You are a disgusting POS for saying this and you should be ashamed of yourself. And you call yourself a Christian. Maybe you better go reread the new testament.

Sandra
Hmmmm......I'm not sure. Exactly where in the New Testament does it say to call someone a POS??? Hypocrite. Per usual.....ho hum.

Here's Our Opportunity
So, the bottom line is, everybody, do you want a real change for the better or do you want politics as usual. With all the griping about government interfering in too much of our lives, do you want bigger government? Do you want higher taxes? Do you desire that ours should be a government that is more Socialistic? Wake up! It is a no-brainer...we'll vote for John McCain and Sarah Palin, and clean house of some of the governmental-laden garbage.

marijane
Darling - really. McCain has voted with Bush over 90% of the time which by his own admission is higher than many other Repubicans. Why on earth do you think he will change anything?? McCain and his wife are worth over $100 million why do you think they want to change a system set up to help themselves? The Republicans controlled all three branches for 6 years and had enough votes the last 2 years to stop any significant changes from happening.

Our government and by extension the rest of us is now $10 Trillion (with a T) in debt to Saudi Arabia and the Chineese and you for some reason continue to support this.

The Republicans stopped any significant oversight of the banking and mortgage industry and you can see where that led. In 2006 Bush deregulated the oversight on oil futures speculation which is why you are paying so much for a gallon of gas. Get real.

cheating
Still waiting on that McCain cheating explanation. Anyone??

EVERYTHING BUT THE KITCHEN SINK
is what the Dems/Libs are throwing at this very accomplished woman. Since WHEN didn't N.o.W. &
especially Steinem, etal suggest that women get out of the house and work? Now, all of a sudden
because she is a threat to the Dems/libs She should stay home taking care of her children. I think this is what she has done all along-take care of her children. Secondly, she has ONLY two young children that need cared for-the son is off to the service, there is another daughter
who the MSM was going to slam about being preg.
(I'm sure she is going to be off on her own with her baby's father)until Gov.Palin beat them to it; then another daughter(don't know her
age but she certainly doesn't seem to need constant care as some younger child. The Obama-
Mud-Machine is threatened by her experience(as it is MORE than his) her likeability and the no nonsense approach she brings forth. She is being asked about her life, and is forthcoming,\
which is more than the way Obama has been hiding
his past, his mentor's and where all his money is truly coming from. I also am ashamed that it
is Hillary and her attack dogs that are being called in to try to besmearch his qualified woman. I think people need to REVOLT, and take
their votes to the ballot box for McCain/Palin.
as We are the ones being bullied here, NOT OBAMA

What is the number of times Obambam didn’t even vote in Springfield, he just said Present?

Did anyone count the number of votes that he missed in the Senate in DC, since he wasn’t even present, much of the time.

And why don’t you count the number of items that Bush signed that were voted on by OBamBam.

Look it up, You will find the reason right there next to the explanation for the actions of FDR and Eleanor, only part of the JFK stories, there isn’t room for all of them, and then there is your friend Clinton, and haven’t you heard of the Kennedy/Dodd Waitress Sandwich? Just look it up on Google.

I just checked the Constitution, and saw no mention of a candidates sex life. I guess the founders didn't want to expose their off-duty life.

I am the expert with no experience. But I don't care what anyone else does.

Jo
You guys have been screaming sexism since the Democrats starting citing Palins lack of experience. I could care less how many kids this woman has as long as someone is taking care of them. If Palin can't take the heat she should go back to her kitchen. A rightful examination of her policies and ethics is not sexism.

If you want to go by executive experience she has more than both Obama and McCain both of whom have very little. Does that mean Palin should be on top of the ticket? She has no national experience, no international experience, no experience with terrorism or domestic security, no experience with illegal immigration, no experience with national defense or even defense of her own state.

Go back and listen to her acceptance speech where she stood there attacking Obama for the majority of the speech and then come back here and talk about attack dogs.

sandra judge and jury

Sandra dislikes mcCain because he cheated.

"Still waiting on that McCain cheating explanation. Anyone??"

We had nothing to do with this sad event in the life of our candidate. We therefore owe nobody an explanation. We're giving the nominee of our party an option to run for president. Not to cheat for president.

If YOU don't want to vote for him, just don't. Vote for the party of abortion on demand and, in Iraq, Cut and Run! Your kind of people, Sandra.

WHAT A HYPOCRIT YOU ARE SANDRA,
bring up "cheating"? from McCain-who returned a
broken man, due to serving HIS country-and could
possibly have had POW syndrome, as so MANY of our pow's did-Only those two know what went on
during their marriage that ended-(they're close
to date btw)and didn't McCain say it was his life's moral regret? WHERE were YOU Sandra, when the whole country was embarassed by the lie
to them, when Bill was using the Wh.House for his TRYST W/MONICA(while Hillary was upstairs?)
and WHERE was your indignant remarks Sandra when it was a fact that Bill raped, molested, &
exposed himself during his time as POTUS?

What THIS attack by you amts. to-IS THAT IT'S OK TO GO ALONG W/ALL THE DEM/LIB MISCONDUCT &
CRIMINAL ACTIVITY- BUT, You become insensed when you "Think of a Conservative Woman, that has the intelligence, track record & moral background to become the V.P. of the U.S.".
You, are Truly, a Hypocrit.

jim
First off, we weren't talking about Obama we were talking about McCain who has been part of the Washington insider circle of over 20 years and for some reason you guys think he is going to change something.

Second, you guys are the first ones to throw Kennedy, Clinton and Edwards under the bus but you overlook McCains cheating.

Third, you guys are the ones interested in everyones sex life which is why you don't want a lot of people to have one (gays) and if they do you want them to follow your rules (abstinance and marriage.)

Boys and Girls and Toys
To the nitwit who said that ALL girls will choose dollies and ALL boys will choose trucks, clearly you did not grow up in my neighbourhood. Where I grew up, as many girls as boys chose hockey sticks and skates, bicycles, basketballs, crayons and easles, firecrackers, Gilbert Chemistry Labs that you could really blow stuff up with, musical instruments (particularly the piano), baseball, hiking, building race tracks for slot car racing, bottle rockets, Ante Over, Red Rover, PomPomPullaway, DuckDuckGoose, Sardines, Prisoners Base, Statue and Dodge Ball. Heck, in my neighbourhood there were plenty of boys who could jump Double Dutch!

Clearly you, Mr. Nitwit, grew up in a very limited society. Sorry you missed all the fun.

BTW Sandra..
What the HELL kind of experience do you think the TOP Dem, Obama(the Messiah) HAS? NONE-Zip-ZERO. You think because he went on his Eurotrek
to Pander to become more "worldly looking" was a
ticket to POTUS? He DIDN'T EVEN FIND TIME TO VISIT "OUR TROOPS", BUT HE MET THE THRONGS THAT
HE WAS APOLOGETIC ABOUT THE USA TO. PITIFUL...
THE IRANIANS "WANT THIS MUSLIM(QUOTING AKMADDOG)
and why? YOU AND EVERY PERSON ON THIS SITE WILL
NEED TO FIND OUT ABOUT THE "REAL OBAMA THAT IS HIDING HIS PAST AT COLUMBIA, THE MENTOR'S(INCLUDE THE LATE COMMIE-FRANK MARSHALL DAVIS,
GEORGE SOROS THE BILLIONAIRE BACKER THAT WANTS TO BRING AMERICA TO IT'S KNEES. SO HERE'S MY SUGGESTION: INSTEAD OF BEING DUPED BY THE SMOOTHE TALKING OBAMA....GET READY TO BUY THIS BOOK AND LEARN SOMETHING THE MSM "WILL NOT ASK,
OR REPORT ON:-"OBAMA UNMASKED"

ALL AMERICANS NEED TO READ THIS BOOK, AND MAKE A
DECISION THAT IS INTELLIGENT.

BTW SANDRA: I AM A LIBERATED WOMAN, SO I CAN RECOGNIZE ONE IN GOV.PALIN--SHE IS "WHAT N.O.W.
USED TO TALK ABOUT, BEFORE THEY DECIDED IT ONLY APPLIED TO LIBERL/DEMOCRAT WOMEN.

Sandra
Well it is certain that you are not a Christian or anything near to having a soul, having given it up to the devil. Your posts are biased and boring and I'm still quite certain that you're upset that a pretty woman, who is exceedingly accomplished and is balancing her life very well is also a conservative. Deal with it. Your "Obama" who looks like a volkswagen with both doors open isn't going to win. Even with public education, there are still enough intelligent people in America to make the right "choice." The only way the dems will win is if they succeed with their fraud. Here in Wisconsin, Gov. Doyle refuses to allow photo i.d. because then the dems can't vote as often as they like. They slash the tires of Republican vans that offer rides to voting booths. Many dead people are voting and absentee ballots are being stolen out of mailboxes. The dems are evil. What can you expect of a party built on the concept of death?? If they can't respect life at its inception, what makes you think they care about any part of its natural progression? You are a lemming. Shame. Shame. Shame.

truetolife
I have read the bible and understand the Christian faith and from your ramblings I am pretty sure you are not a Christian. To put words in the mouths of others or claim actions that haven't happened is called lying which is exactly what you do.

Christians should take all others into their hearts, give to the poor and help the needy. To me that sounds like social security and medicare which are the first programs the Republicans want to cut. The Republican party uses people like you to get votes. Good luck.

dreadnaught
You belong to the party that touts family values right up until one of your families does wrong. Then it becomes a private family matter and is nobody's busines but their own. If you ever said one bad word about Edwards affair or Clinton's affair then you should not be voting for McCain.

Jo
"McCain-who returned a broken man, due to serving HIS country-and could
possibly have had POW syndrome"

Right there is a really good reason not to vote for him.

By the way, my father was a fighter pilot in WWII and got shot down. Fortunatley he was rescued before the Japaneese could get him but he was injured. When he recovered he went back to the south pacific where he contracted malaria and ended up in a hospital for months where he almost died. He came out and led a training squadron until the war ended. At no time did my father think it was okay to cheat on his wife and dump her for a younger model. I also know he did suffer from post-traumatic stress syndrome as do many war veterans. Also, just because my father was a fighter pilot who served his country and almost died in that service he was not qualified to be President.

Sandra
Sandra, as they say in England, get stuffed! Enough said.

Obama guarantees a dead baby
Democrats are saying Palin doesn't even have experience as a 'Community Organizer' like Marxist Obama did, she wasn't even taught by Communist Saul Alinski.

Democrats are saying Palin may have executive experience but Obama has speeches.

Democrats are saying Palin probably had a 'typical white' grandmother.

Democrats are saying Palin never left her babies to die in a 'Dirty Linen' closet like Obama has fought so hard for - how can she understand the 'Obama Hope'?

Democrats are saying Palin was never 'Mentored' by 'God Damn America' black racist Jeremiah Wright - how can she understand the plight of the ordinary black American?

Democrats are saying Palin is a Capitalist and was never trained by Marxists like Obama - how can she bring the 'Obama Change' to America?

Democrats are saying Palin never voted present 129 times - how can she bring the political experience Obama has to the White House?

Democrats are saying Palin doesn't understand the 'Bitter Clingers' like Obama - the typical whites who cling to 'God and Guns'.

Democrats are saying Palin doesn't even have 'Cult Followers like Obama, who believe Obama is the messiah and will heal the world.

Democrats are saying Palin has a husband who has always been proud of America, how can she understand those like Michelle Obama who was never proud of America.

Democrats are saying Palin thinks babies are wonderful how could she understand the 'Baby Mistakes' Obama talks about.

Democrats are saying Palin has worked at real jobs, how could she understand the plight of Obama who has never had a 'real job'.

Democrats are saying Obama will keep his word - when a woman wants a dead baby Obama will make sure they get a dead baby.

Democrats are saying Palin might bring real values to America not the phony ones they believe in - Democrats are afraid!

Obama chooses friends carefully

There is an old Spanish saying.
“Tell me who you walk with, and I will tell you WHO YOU ARE!”

"I chose my friends carefully. The more politically active black students. The foreign students. The Chicanos. The Marxist professors and structural feminists and punk-rock performance poets." - Barack Obama (Dreams of My Father)

Obama the 'Chosen One' chose these friends:

Marxist Professors
Structural Feminists (anti capitalists)
Activist Black Students
Mentor Wright - Black separatist and Mentor.
James Cone - Black Separatist and racist.
Saul Alinsky - Communist 'Community Organizer'.
William Ayers - Radical anarchist.
Fr.Pfleger - Radical religionist and race baiter.
Louis Farrakhan - Radical Islamist and racist.
Tony Rezco - Convicted felon and thief.
Frank Marshall - Communist and Obama Mentor.
Many other 'Radical Leftists'.

Any American voter should look at some of the chosen associates in the life of a man who is a contender for the position of President of the United States and Commander in Chief of its Armed Forces.

Babies Crying in Terror
The 'Born Alive' baby who has known the closest contact with another human any human can experience - the baby has been inside another human for months.

The baby has kicked, stretched and some even suck their thumbs. Every need has been met by its human host - shelter, nourishment and safety.

Suddenly one day the baby is attacked with chemicals and poisons.

The baby enters a world bent on death and destruction towards its life.

The baby has never seen a butterfly, puppy, pretty colors or things all babies enjoy or had any human say I love you.

The baby enters the world in excruciating pain and the best trained Medical experts in the world refuse the baby any aid - in a hospital - where all facilities are available and the Doctors have sworn to protect all human life - except his.

The baby is thrown on a cold table and left to die in some hidden place.

The baby struggles to breathe because a human is born with the human will to survive. The baby cries in terror and sobs for help - that never comes - no one cares.

The innocent baby tries to live with every breath and dies alone, abandoned like a used kleenex, never having experienced anything but pain, rejection and hatred.

When the baby finally dies a death of torture and the ultimate rejection any human can receive, it is such a worthless human it doesn't even have a 'Death Certificate' issued that it ever existed.

For a few minutes, hours or days, that baby WAS an American Citizen, that should have received all of the 'Rights and Protections' under law, that any other American Citizen should have.

Michelle and Barack Obama and most Democrats, have done everything humanly possible, to make sure this baby does NOT even receive any pain medication.

Very well said and absolutely, positively true. The dems do not care. They all pretend to care about others but it is their own egos that need constant feeding and sheltering--not babies. They are the most narcissistic people one can ever meet. "It's all about me," is their mantra. Look at how wonderful I am. I this and I that. BUT they pretend oh so well to "care" about others. I guess we can't ask the millions of dead babies if they agree with them.

But McCain didn’t try to hide his problem from years ago, and run for President while a baby was in the oven, like Edwards did.

And I forgot to add LBJ. Since this happened 40 some years ago, I don’t remember the details, but LBJ had five, count them five, ladies on the Government paid staff, who would be available at any moment for him. One of them, who I will not name, is still on TV regularly, and the Demorats didn’t care then or now.

McCains stupidity didn’t happen while he was in office, or running for office, and that does make a difference.

Did you hear the demorat on TV the other day who said McCain had a promised affair with the Barracuda, after the election.

I did not say all little kids, and I was talking about kids too young for

Oh and by the way, if you needed a baby sitter for a one year old, would you look for a 15 year old male or a female baby sitter?

Well maybe I should ask, would most people look for one or the other.

And you sure described something worse than an early abortion.

John McCain returned from five and a half years as a POW in 1973! THAT WAS THIRTY FIVE (35) YEARS AGO!!!

Can Sandra explain what happened to McCain THRIRTY FIVE FREAKIN' YEARS AGO has to do with "is a really good reason not to vote for him?" PROBABLY NOT! :-)

Or perhaps Sandra would like to share with us why it was okay for Marxist Obama to have done ILLEGAL drugs 20yrs ago, and it's okay to vote for him.

We'll be waiting.... Bet the farm that Sandra will NOT be able to answer that! :-)

Big Lie
The bug lie of the Republican Party is that in office they are looking out for Blue Collar working class citizens. The is nothing wrong with being rich, but they don't need a government looking out for their interests. Another lie of the Republican Party is that they are looking out for small businesses. They never do. The Reason the Republicans are so successful in getting people to vote against their interests is phoney patriotism, phoney fears about those who are different, lots of momo-jumo about family values that they don't back-up with legislation.

We all know that it takes longer to get over a divorce than a drug habit, right?

JohnnyP
I would just like to know where you got your statistics and what they are in reference to. Is it per year, since the beginning of time, what? Right now, your stats are just numbers hanging out there with no real meaning. If it's since the beginning of time, then they are not really appropriate for your agrument. I mean take the 99% of military casualities are men, well that would make sense, considering women were not allowed in the military, knowingly, until 1943. Also taking into account that most of the time, the MEN in high ranks thought that it was safer for the women and less distracting for the men if the ladies just stayed back. That would take the air out of your sails. I would also like to point out to you that if 75% of the money in households comes from the man, then it only makes sense that the men would carry a higher work death percentage than women and it would also explain why 80% of courts give the mother child custody. If you consider that in most cases custody is awarded to the parent that is deemed the primary care-giver and that is determined by which parent the child is with the most. As to why women spend most of the money, in every relationship that I have ever seen, the woman does the grocery shopping and makes sure the bills are paid. If this is truly how it happens in most places, then that explains where the 80% is going, but where is the man's 20% ending up? On the suidcide note, I would like to point out that most women attempt suicide as a cry for help, not to end their lives.
I only say all of this to point out how ridiculous it is to spout off stats and not put them into any kind of context. This all being said I agree that women need to stop crying that life favors men. Do something about it. You want to have a family, decide if you are willing to give up your career or if you are willing to give up time with your children, because in the end those are your options.

nonsense, sandra

Please lay off me when it comes to divorcing one woman and chasing another. I am no "evangelical." I am Catholic, married to the only woman I have ever had sex with ---YESSSS! ONLY ONE! I believe in God!

It's not my fault the denominational crowd likes their divorces. It's just the nature of our politics; and the pluralistic society in which we live.

Looking back; the wife McCain divorced after his return from Nam was herself a divorcee already, and mother of two! So, she has no kicks coming, or does she? That's OK with those who say they're "born again." Do I find it sad? SURE ! They make their own beds, Sandra. You do that too.

But we need the experience & wisdom of McCain in the White House now.

How he faces God at the judgment seat some day is entirely out of our Poker hand. We only play the cards as they fall here.

sandra at the last judgment

And YOU will have the same justice before God one day as me & John McCain, Sandra.

You supported and defended the death and butchery of innocent unborn babies; which leads to damnation for the sinner. God won't give a hoot for your "choice" hypocrisy. He will merely judge you among the goats. An apologist for infanticide and genocidal murders.

Vote Democrat Help Communist Party USA

"This fight is winnable, and there is an actual strategy to win, a strategy that consists of more than playing at revolution and calling for chaos in the streets.

Right now the elections are the most critical form of struggle; this is where we have the best shot of finally breaking the back of the ultra right. Afterwards, we will continue to build a united movement that can work to establish a real electoral alternative, and eventually to challenge the system overall.

Of course, a Democratic victory in 2008 will not solve all the problems caused by so many years of ultra-right domination, or by capitalism in general.

Swells of young people agree and have already stepped up to the challenge in the Democratic primaries, voting in record numbers and refusing to accept the idea that these elections don’t matter. In Iowa alone, the youth turnout rate more than tripled from under 21,000 in 2004 to over 65,000 in 2008, and it quadrupled in Tennessee despite the devastating storms that ripped through on Super Tuesday. Similar situations have occurred in all Democratic primaries to date.

And there is something to be said for the movement of young people that surrounds Barack Obama.

This kind of victory, which would include a total Democratic sweep in November, could set the stage for higher forms of struggle for generations to come."

Try Telling God - others did it too

Whether we belive it or NOT someday we will account for OUR lives.

Good luck with telling God, 'Others did it too' - at that time in that place, many of you will finally have your wishes and desires.

It will Only be about you - you will be the center and focus of attention.

Gods only Son died in horrible pain, mostly alone and no one helped. Babies that are left alone in horrible pain, crying in terror - try telling God 'Obama said it was ok' or it was a right. You could at least demand pain medication.

Good luck with that line by the way.

Thankful to Palin
...as a father of 2 daughters I am thrilled at the class, the poise and the abilities of this woman and the example that she is setting for my girls. If only the press and the Democratic party could show even a tiny thread of the same type of class.

I guess
Sandra has no answers to facts. Typical democrat--make up scenarios and then run like hell at the facts that are pointed out to you. Lemming.

Here is Sandra's Messiah

Sexism
“Sexism is all over the place,” said Purdue political science professor Bert Rockman. “It’s assumed that the mom will do everything at home and maybe work 60 hours a week, too. But if things go wrong, it’s her fault, not dad’s.”

I think this comment says more about Mr. Rockman's attitudes than it does about society's. Or maybe he just wants to make a nice, politically correct statement. Certainly conservatives don't expect Mom to do everything at home and work 60 hours a week. As noted above, we're the ones who prefer her to stay home with the kids. And as for blame, except when it suits the liberal feminists, women are untouchable concerning the work - home issue.
And don't even get me started on the Euro/Swedish publicly funded childcare issue.
Sheesh!
