Will Congress pass Obamacare by the end of the year?

I am making 12 Commitments to the American People. They are intended to lift our vision from the rearview mirror to the road ahead. If I am elected president, I want to be held accountable for the progress we make as a nation.

1) I will keep America on offense in the Terrorists’ War on Us.

Winning the terrorists’ war on us is the greatest responsibility of the 9/11 Generation. We need to continue taking the fight to the Islamic fundamentalist terrorists by increasing the size, strength, and support of our military — beginning with ten new Army combat brigades.

2) I will end illegal immigration, secure our borders and identify every non-citizen in our nation.

We can end illegal immigration with tough but realistic laws that put security first. We need to secure the border with a physical fence and a technological fence. We need to require a tamper-proof I.D. card for all non-citizens coming into the United States and tracking their entry and exit. And we need to encourage Americanization by requiring new citizens to read, write, and speak English.

3) I will restore fiscal discipline and cut wasteful Washington spending.

Over the next two presidential terms, 42 percent of the federal civilian workforce is due to retire. We should only hire back half, replacing non-essential workers with technology. I’ll ask agency heads to identify annual budget cuts of 5 to 20 percent. With entitlement costs scheduled to explode, we need fiscal discipline to avoid passing an unsupportable burden on to the next generation.

4) I will cut taxes and reform the tax code.

Pro-growth policies lead to broader prosperity. The next president needs to simplify the tax code and keep taxes low — including the personal income tax, the capital-gains tax and the corporate tax. And we can eliminate double taxation and protect family businesses by giving the Death Tax the death penalty.

5) I will impose accountability on Washington.

We need to restore Americans’ faith that government can work again. That’s why we’ll implement the first constant measurement of government effectiveness, known as “FedStat,” and put the results online so the public can hold agencies accountable.

6) I will lead America towards energy independence.

We must decrease America’s dangerous dependence on foreign oil. We can meet this challenge through diversification of our energy portfolio, innovation, and conservation. We must increase public and private investment in nuclear power, clean coal, and alternative-energy sources across the board. America must lead the world in energy-efficient, environmentally responsible, commercially viable innovation, including wind, solar, geo-thermal, ethanol, and biofuel technologies.

7) I will give Americans more control over their health care with affordable and portable free-market solutions.

We can improve the quality of health care while decreasing costs through increased competition. Solutions can include reforming the tax treatment of health care, expanding portable health-savings accounts, encouraging state-by-state innovations, and reforming the legal system. Continued...

Rudy's 12 Steps to Recover turned into 1
1. Why don't you just take us out of the conflict. Your proposal is not a solution.

2. You are lying. Why haven't you done it already? This is not new.

3. Again, not a solution Rudy. Why don't you get rid of the unconstitutional and illegal taxes that are imposed on U.S. citizens? Problem solved.

4. What? Reforms!??? There are over 130 codes and reforms to the tax laws. Nobody knows how to unravel them. GET RID OF TAXES. There are many other proposals on the table but since these essentially mean less power to you, and others like you, they will of course be ignored. Fair Tax. There, problem solved.

5. Aha, right. Sure. Where was accountibility in New York? What did you do to prevent two planes from flying over restricted air space in your own city? Where's the accountability there?

6. You are a liar. What will you do short of redesigning our civilization into one that is solar powered?

7. Sure. You have such a great track record for lowering the cost of things! New York has become completely UNAFFORDABLE. And that's the finance capitol of the U.S. - I can only imagine what you'll do to a national issue like healthcare!

8. Why don't you just leave this one to Miss America?

9. How about appointing CONSTITUTIONAL judges? Not a bad idea since that's the document you should be following. If you are going to appoint "constructionist judges" for God's sake! don't find the strict ones!

10. Lord help us~! - You, will ensure? again...see #7. We are under no threat except from the tyranny of power mongers and traitors to the United States. Add to your list of reading the meaning of the word traitor.

11. The election term is not long enough for this one. I recommend you take it out of your list and just address the gigantic problem that are the misguided School Boards.

12. Unless you have a degree in International Economics I don't think you're qualified for this one, and frankly, this is a traitorous statement. America is a sovereign country. Americans don't want to be part of a globalization of anything. Strengthen our reputation but as what? as the biggest mafia in the world?

How about stepping down and not ruining for others in the GOP?

My responses to your 12 commitments;

1.Is a must.

2.Is a must as well, but I would add enforce laws against employers who hire illegals, and limit welfare and social services to illegals. But for jobs and welfare the illegals would have little reason to come here illegally. I'd also recommend federal laws against sanctuary cities, and one way to discourage them is to cut off federal funds to those local and state jurisdictions that create sanctuary environments for the illegals.

3.Sounds good, but I'd understand expanding federal employment in agencies which need it like boarder patrol, CIA, FBI, etc.

4.www.fairtax.org, enact that bill and we can do #3 and #4 in one shot by eliminating the IRS

5.Washington needs it.

6.I'm all for energy independence. Our dependence is in part driven by our own EPA and other environmental groups that fight any move we make at being independent. How many decades has it been since a new nuclear power plant has gone on-line in this country? Why are we not drilling for oil in ANWAR? How many specialty blends of gasoline do we require be produced due to EPA regulations? How many times a year do regional refineries have to shut down and change the blend they make to meet EPA regulations?

7.Health Savings Plans for all! This would give the insured the freedom to choose their doctor and manage their own health care without an insurance provider dictating the terms of treatment as they do now.

8.I agree. Adoption should be the preferred option to an unwanted pregnancy. Adoptions of American children by American families should be encouraged , and American families adopting children from other countries should be discouraged.

9.Again I agree. I think the Washington DC dry cleaner law suit which has been in the news this past week is a perfect example of a nuisance lawsuit. That case should never have been more than a Small Claims case.

10.Preparation against terrorism and natural disaster is a good goal, but I think the way funding has been allocated since 9/11 for such preparation has been lacking. The Department of Homeland Security needs restructured. It is a huge government agency which I think causes as many “bureaucratic red tape” issues as it is meant to eliminate.

11.I agree with choice of schools, but I fear that the teachers unions have too much power and until they are reigned in they will continue to be a hindrance to local school districts. The teachers unions have gone from protecting the teachers from being taken advantage of by their employers to preventing the education system from doing it's job.

12.I have no problem with being part of the global economy, but not at the expense of the American economy. The American economy should come first!
