Will the Dems' health care Christmas Present to America be an improvement or detriment to our health care system?

A random walk through the new administration. . .

-- President Obama has shaken the hand of Venezuela's commissar, America-detesting Hugo Chavez. The incident recalled the high moment when Obama idol Eleanor Roosevelt refused to shake the hand of the dread Sen. Joseph McCarthy.

-- Please note the purest hypocrisy in this datum: Four of today's most visible and vocal Washington champions of public education -- Education Secretary Arne Duncan, Illinois Senator Dick Durbin, D.C. Mayor Adrian Fenty and the president himself -- all have their own children in private schools.

-- Administration spokesmen immediately cited the president's swift decisiveness in approving the SEALs' take-down of three Somali pirates. Decisive action would not have required endless bureaucratic back-and-forthing about rules of engagement and other esoterics. Swift action would have occurred not four days after the incident began, but 40 minutes after the SEALs' arrival aboard the U.S.S. Bainbridge.

-- The administration has (1) eased the nation's posture toward Iran and (2) lifted sanctions on travel to Cuba as well as remittances by exiles to relatives there. Both Iran's Mahmoud Ahmadinejad and Cuba's Fidel Castro insist they will not reciprocate with warmth toward the United States.

-- The president has stipulated repeatedly his opposition to deploying weapons in space. A report by the Heritage Foundation and the George C. Marshall Institute cautions that without extending the nation's missile defense systems into space, the U.S. well could suffer the fate of China's Ming dynasty. After centuries of navigational and exploratory supremacy at sea, Ming maritime dominance dissipated because of domestic infighting -- and inaction -- regarding its own security.

-- Have you noticed how, perhaps given record snows and cold weather, warmists talk less these days about "global warming" and more about "climate change"?

-- And researchers at London's School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine have concluded that a principal cause of climate change is . . . obesity. The obese, it seems, require more food (and more energy to produce it) and exhale more carbon dioxide into the atmosphere. Notes Dr. Phil Edwards, one of the study's principals, "Food production accounts for about one-fifth of greenhouse gases." And: "Moving about in a heavy body is like driving a gas guzzler."

-- President Obama cited global warming as a cause of the recent flooding of the Red River in Fargo, N.D. Tim Ball, a Canadian climatologist and adviser to the International Climate Science Coalition, terms Obama's citation "speculative and completely wrong." He says spring flooding along the Red River "is due to snowmelt."

-- In the Iraq war, 4,200 American troops have lost their lives -- a dreadful measure of the cost of liberty. So have 87,200 Iraqi civilians.

-- From the union front, representing abundant Democratic voters but just 7.6 percent of American private-sector workers, these bulletins: (a) In its latest bailout, the now-bankrupt Chrysler has received $12 billion in taxpayer dollars -- totaling $314,000 per Chrysler U.S. employee -- for producing vehicles insufficient numbers of Americans want to buy. (b) Though the administration terms itself an equal-opportunity pressurer, it has hammered management for concessions far more than it has muscled the unions.

-- Notes Forbes' longtime automobile columnist Jerry Flint: "No matter what you hear about sacrifices, the union(s) won't give back anything real. Democratic administrations just don't pick the pockets of their union supporters." In fact (c) the administration is working to cloud the current transparency regarding how the nation's union leaders spend union dues. And (d) all this, while the president says he supports the expansion of for instance charter schools -- an expansion vehemently and vigorously opposed by . . . public-school teachers unions.

-- On Tax Day (April 15), President Obama said the federal tax code is too complex for mere earthlings to comprehend. He's right about that one. He has tasked Paul Volcker, chairman of his Economic Recovery Advisory Board, to produce tax-simplification recommendations by the end of the year. What do you suppose are the odds of Volcker recommending a flat tax -- with a corresponding two-line form? Line 1: Total income from all sources. Line 2: Enclose X percentage of that amount.

-- Meanwhile, regarding taxpayer receipts, White House spokesman Robert Gibbs intones: "The president overall wants to give the American people assurance that the government can use the money from them wisely." And: "He knows . . . that to continue to have (deficits, equaling the combined Bush eight-year deficit in Obama's first 20 months) expand year after year is unsustainable."

-- So he has ordered his Cabinet to trim their agency spending a combined total of $100 million -- or .0028 percent of his $3.6 trillion budget.

You are way out of line. Several people on TH do not agree with the policy of this new administration, but they do not wish death upon our current president. You would be best served to find another site to post on. I do not call many people an idiot, but you are an idiot for posting your comment. Go back to huffington post.. your mask has been taken off.

a grossly misleading overstatement
"Food production accounts for about one-fifth of greenhouse gases." it may or may not be 1/5 of ANTHROPOGENIC sources, but it sure as hell ain't that much of the complete total.

Making History
It is obvious that Obutthead wants to be the Abe Lincoln of the 21st Century. Lets help him by assasinating him, and do it soon while there is stall a country worth saving!

The revolution has started . . .
with the "tea parties" that the leftwing media and the communists running our government TRIED to ignore. It is time to "monkey-wrench" the system. Offer NO cooperation to so-called "government officials". When the (acorn) census worker comes to the door, be creative. Inform them that you have SIX people in your household (even if you only have them for one day). This can correct the demographic patterns in the country that were so skewed by acorn's "voter registration" tactics. If you have a business, offer a discount for CASH. Deny the leviathan "government" as much revenue as you can. Barter is also a viable alternative to "donating" to our "voluntary" tax system. If "turbo tax" geithner and the rest of the criminals in washington dc can avoid paying taxes, why not his bosses (US)?
Remember, there are more of US than there are of THEM. FREEDOM MUST BE TAKEN, NOT ASKED FOR.

TAXES
Here is part of the answer:
Go to your employer and raise your dependent deductions to the maximum, I believe it is .. 10
You take home the money instead of sending it to the government to spend. Put it into a secure saving account ( that collects INTEREST )
On April 15, 2010 ... the government will demand you pay them YOUR money they believe is THEIRS. BECAUSE ... they can spend it better than YOU can. When it does become due, the government will settle for a much smaller amount if you pay it on demand. So it is a WIN-WIN deal for taxpayers. YOU make INTEREST on YOUR MONEY and YOU PAY LESS next year. If enough people do this, even the BRAIN-DEAD government just might get it. And yes it is LEGAL. on MAY 12TH, VOTE against all of MEXIFORNIA'S TAX INCREASES. AND ... in the elections next year VOTE-OUT every LIBERAL in government. You need to take the time and go VOTE, you know all LIBERAL'S and all the people ACORN can round-up will be there to VOTE for you and me to PAY-HIGHER-TAXES so they can continue to live off OUR-HARD-EARNED-MONEY.
WAKE UP CITIZENS IF YOU DON'T USE YOUR VOTE, YOU WILL LOSE IT.
And you will be welcomed into the new SOCIALIST SOCIETY and guarantee your children and grand-children will be living the life of HUGO CHAVEZ

IT IS YOUR CALL ... AND YOUR CHILDREN'S FUTURE!

Oh really!
Meanwhile, regarding taxpayer receipts, White House spokesman Robert Gibbs intones: "The president overall wants to give the American people assurance that the government can use the money from them wisley."

As reported on May 4, 2009 in a E-Brief by CNSNews.com, "Feds Will Spend $400,000 to Study Drinking and Sex Habits of Homosexuals in Argentina.

The study started on September 30, 2008 (during the Bush administration) and is projected to end on August 31, 2010.

I don't think it's so important to know who's administration such frivolous studies begin. I do think it's important for us to know just how unwisley the government spends our tax dollars sometimes. This study is a good example.

Heaven knows how many other idiotic studies we are paying for.

Rise Up For America!
I agree with Scott: revolution is coming. The MSM and hard-core libs will not know what to do when a majority of everyday, tax-paying, patriotic Americans (most of whom have never been involved in activism) make their voices known. The MSM is struggling to make this mediocre politician (but master manipulator) King, but the people know he is the Emperor With No Clothes On and will prevail!

Charles Krauthammer had it right
During the campaign, Charles Krauthammer remarked that Obama was a devious, cynical, cunning manipulator. He hit the nail squarely on the head that time.

It strikes me that the liberal political-media-legal complex is clearly trying to make itself a privileged class permanently in power. Their tool seems to be bankrupting the rest of us.

Tammy
"Or, he could remain pretty much on course, and become one of the great presidents we will have ever had."

Anybody who does not believe this has only to ask B-HO!
A true legend in his own mind!
And in the minds of people who have not had a thought on their own since birth.

The only honorable...
...position for a patriot to take now is resistance to everything this administration stands for.Use every legal (and some not so legal)tactic to defeat whatever he proposes. There are only 24 hours in a day,so make him spend ALL his time trying to get his program enacted (whatever it is),and not have time to come up with new disasters for our country.

May Obama live in interesting times.

Really Tammy?
Wait a minute - you can't get away with the drive-by rating of the puppet president. Please expound on your "staying on course and becoming one of the greatest presidents we will have ever had.." I want to hear more about how:
- bankrupting our nation for centuries to come with his "I can just make more" budget plan
- disdain for the military, national defense and oh, yea, the Constitution....

is going to make him "one of the greatest president's we will have ever had"

Maybe in that alternate USA of the punk-in-chief that has 58 states.

Ths guy (and those that are controlling him) is a criminal.

Revolution is at hand.

That Barack Is So Decisive!
Took him 4 days to green light action against Somali Pirate Fishermen or Fisherman Pirates you never know with these Somalis until they're shooting at you.
Took him 4 minutes to declassify and publish Confidential C.I.A memos, now our spies have to worry about being outed Armitage style by their own Commander-In-Chief.
It's such a shame, the apologising and bowing to suckers who don't give a shiite about us and our western ways, they dismembered and dragged our boys thru the streets and one of our turncoat Generals lobbied to include these so-called "enemy combatants" under Geneva Convention rules.
Folks, I wish I was just making this crap up, awaken groggy-eyed, pinch myself and say "Whew! glad I was only dreaming."
No such luck.

Mackenzie
Oh, I can't bear it. Obama is such an jerk,
he fails at everything he does. Nobody loves
him, everybody hates him. Why doesn't he just
hang it up and go home.

Or, he could remain pretty much on course, and
become one of the great presidents we will have
ever had.
