Of Course Obama Voters Are Not In Denial

Poll
Was the Copenhagen Global Warming Summit Walk-Out a Win for the U.S.?

You seem -- you know -- glum, unhappy, depressed.

Why don't you lay off? I am not in denial over my vote for Obama. He's doing a great job.

Maybe you can offer some examples of his many successes.

Exhibit A is the responding economy. The recession may be bottoming -- that's what the stock market seems to be saying. What other reason could there be besides the stimulus and Obama's spending proposals -- along with his plans to tax the pudding out of those who can afford it?

Like you? Just because you can afford higher taxes, or could before the crash, doesn't mean they're necessary. And the stimulus package won't kick in until next year at the earliest -- that was one of the major arguments against it. To the extent economists matter, the average grade 53 of them recently awarded Messrs. Obama, Bernanke and Geithner was a "C".

The President gave a speech at Georgetown the other day, and eloquently compared our economy to "our house upon a rock." That's what it should be, a strong economic foundation, and I think he's really trying -- with his emphasis on alternative energy, on education, and his determination to revamp health care.

Every federal attempt to manage energy markets has proved a bust -- and driven up costs. As far as education goes, Obama has deployed as education secretary, sort of a national schools superintendent, a former superintendent of Chicago's public schools that are so bad Obama would not put his own children in them -- just as he doesn't enroll them in Washington's public schools now.

And do you really want people like him and Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid and Barney Frank and Chris Dodd -- the last two of whom gave us the Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac debacles -- creating a national health care system? When, ever, has the federal government overseen or operated anything more efficiently than the private sector?

But you have to admit that finally we have a president respected in Europe and the Middle East.

To the degree he is respected in Europe, statist, redistributionist leaders there regard him as an ideological soulmate. Still, on his recent European tour, he won little in the way of more stimulus spending or more troop commitments to Afghanistan.

Any deference Arab and Islamic Middle Easterners accord him derives from their hope he and Hillary Clinton will trash Israel -- or at least prove less resolute in backing it. By the way, the Iranians loved his concession, a switch from the Bush administration, letting them continue to enrich uranium during diplomatic talks.

And with Obama, at last we are confronting global warming.

Carbon dioxide is not a pollutant, so hammering companies that emit the stuff hardly is "confronting global warming" -- especially when the human role in the current warming trend is, at best, ambiguous. What's more, if carbon dioxide is so pernicious and Obama is so effective, how is it that he flat-out failed to get China -- the globe's pre-eminent producer of carbon dioxide -- to agree to curb its emissions?

Well, at least, after Bush, Obama is not divisive.

The leftist Pew Research Center, in a survey, found Obama "has the most polarized early job approval (rating) of any president" in its 40 years of polling -- with a 61-point difference between Democrats who approve his performance (88 percent of them) and Republicans who approve it (just 27 percent). So much for Obama as a bipartisan, post-partisan, non-polarizing unifier.

OK. OK. Yet Obama speaks movingly about a "new era of responsibility."

Yes indeed, he can talk a very good game. He's exceptional at paying lip service. Still, there's often a disconnect -- a chasm -- between what he says and what he does.

Maybe it only seems that way because he wasn't present at the creation of the mess Bush left him to clean up. Obama arrived in the middle of a recession and a public debt burden of 40 percent of GDP.

Not a good thing. But how is it commendable for him to double that debt burden -- to 80 percent of GDP -- in 10 years, even in the name of straightening things up? In fact, Obama's deficit spending proposals will amass in his first 20 months a deficit equaling the one Bush amassed in eight years.

Along the way, Obama will give us tax increases, defaults, devaluation and inflation. You know that. And he will create more government dependency, print more cash, reward incompetence and sloth, and beg forgiveness -- for what presumed sins? -- of both our enemies and our friends. You know that, too. Is this how he defines his "new era of responsibility"?

Give him time. And I repeat -- lay off. I am definitely not in denial.

Of course you're not. So get over the guilt you're feeling for whatever dubious reasons. And -- if you can summon the strength to do it -- put on a happy face.

Please!
One term only, please!

lay off
That is exactly what we need to do to Obama and Congress.

Welcome back Carter
Now, we just need to find our new Ronaldus Magnus!

Ronnie, where are you when we need you!

When do you suppose
the left-wingers are going to own this guy? None of them that post here have yet. Give him time, they say. He inherited a mess, they say. He is doing a great job--considering the problems, they say. Actually, to a great extent, Dumbo is responsible for what he inherited. Not personally, but because his curative policies are massive extensions of the goverment actions that got us here. Thank goodness he has been so open and firm about what he is doing. Bush and company did earmarks and pork and pandering under the conservative flag. Can you imagine handing the Democrats the banner of fiscal responsibility? Fortunately, Dumbo is more straightforward. With a little luck, when enough voters are enough miserable to think, they will figure it out.

If we achieve a 60 per cent
incumbent re-election rate in 2010, instead of the usual 95, Ronaldo Rex II will appear.

I heard on Hannity some guy is challenging McCain for the senator from Arizona slot inin 2010. Would it not send a shiver through the ranks of the CINOs? Just remember how much the turncoats try to look conservative now, they were gutless porkers from 2000 to 2006. TTRO.

Insanity
It appears that the brain dead idiots who voted for this socialist, treasonous clown will never admit their insanity until it's too late for our America as we know it. We're failing fast and the feeling of helplessness is overwhelming. God help us to survive until'10 when we can fire some of the criminals and then in '12 when we can get the rest. God bless America. How could we have perpetrated this self rape on our beautiful country?

Anyone hoping for 2010 is delusional
The 2010 elections will NOT save us from these clowns. Regardless of what gains the GOP makes in the US House or State Legislatures in 2010, the US Senate is already destined to become more Democratic. Much more Democratic. Just look for yourself at which seats are up and make an honest assessment of which party will win them, and you will see what I mean. The Senate is the only thing putting any roadblocks at all in their socialist plans. With 67 Dem Senators, they will be able to pass any legislation, pass treaties without a single Republican vote, and even remove judges from office for ideological reasons. It is only going to get worse.

andrewpurdy
The senate Republicans aren't putting up any roadblocks. It was 3 Republican senators who helped passed Obama's stimulus. A Republican co-sponsored this large increase in national service. And Republicans helped pass the omnibus spending bill. We have Grassley seeking to help them pass a massive health-care package. There's no hope from Republicans, regardless of how many seats they win, or how many Democrats win. They are useless.

"Americans Largely Silent as Their Nation is Systematically Destroyed"

By JB Williams
Tuesday, March 24, 2009

”After trillions in taxpayer debt has been foolishly poured into the bottomless black hole of leftist wealth redistribution programs, under the guise of economic “stimulus” or “stabilization” legislation, the new “ONE World” government running Washington DC announces; Geithner, Bernanke Call for New Wind-Down Powers After AIG… and the people still sit silent as they watch Obamanation growing unbridled power.

”Geithner Asks Congress for even Broader Power to Seize private Firms as the average American stumbles through their daily routine as if nothing is happening. Canada Free Press managing editor Judi McLeod writes No cheerleader for propping up greenback at G20 summit asking, “Is the table being set for One World Government rather than speeding the recovery of the worldwide recession at next week’s G20 London summit?”

”Obamanation has taken the nation from a trillion in debt to over $4 trillion in debt in the first sixty days, with even more federal spending promised, which could put the nation $10 trillion in debt before the 2010 mid-term election cycle. Amnesty for illegals and ACORN led redistrict ing will make 2010 and beyond a moot point. Still, beyond the movement to mail tea bags to members of congress or file another legal demand for proof of Obama’s constitutional eligibility for the office he holds, both of which are like whistling in the breeze, the people remain largely silent.

Cont….

Why Americans are asleep 2

“Threatened with a Soup Line Existence, the American people would never trade personal freedom for the false promise of federally redistributed free-stuff under some ill-fated socialist experiment, unless they were first threatened with a soup line existence.

And so it shall be…”

”50% of their lifesavings and 30% of their home values have already evaporated into thin air. National unemployment is driving towards double digits as home foreclosures continue to mount. With their backs against the wall, confused by a daily diet of media manipulated headlines aimed at scaring the public into submission, convinced that our nation’s complex woes demand a solution far too complicated for the average peasant to comprehend, the people find themselves in a state of terminal paralysis.

”Incompetent Evil in Charge:
The same people responsible for the many disasters now surrounding every American ho usehold, were elected in 2006 and 2008 to fix what they broke. Instead of reversing course and placing their faith in the principles of freedom, they are installing more of the same failed entitlement policies that created the problem and they are doing so at a fever pace.

”The folks currently in charge of the nation don’t like anything at all about the nation that once was. They have a very different vision for America, one based on redistribution of free-stuff, not equal access to freedom.

”At the foundation of personal freedom is the right to make your own decisions, invest and risk your own capital, own your own property and keep that which you are willing to work and sacrifice to earn. It’s called economic freedom, aka capitalism. But capitalism is public enemy #1 in America today, thanks to decades of class warfare and the art of division via social envy, all for purpose of political gain.

Cont….

Why Americans are asleep 3

”Life, Liberty and the right to individually define and pursue Happiness has been replaced with the right of some to take from others against their will, in the name of a greater common good, better defined as the entitlement mentality.

”The Change Agents New World Dictionary:

Old concepts have been redefined. Capitalism is now referred to as Fascism. Personal ambition is now called greed. Those who seek access to other people’s rightful earnings are called charitable, and those who demand a right to only that, which they earn, are called greedy.

”It isn’t just the words that have new definitions. The concepts have new meaning as result. Words like socialism and communism no longer have a negative connotation attached to them. Most Americans have no idea what they are anymore, or why they don’t want to find out the hard way.

”The concept of liberal interpretations limits the meaning of words only to one’s individual imagination. The Constitution means only what someone imagines it to mean. If the shoe doesn’t quite fit, a new definition will solve the problem.

”What are Americans Waiting For?

”I don’t know what it will take to wake up the average American, but whatever it is, it hasn’t happened yet…

”The people currently stocking up on food, water, guns and ammo in record numbers, causing shortages in all the above at the retail level, are clearly awake and anticipating something, but what? Meet the “extremists…”

”The people still trying to get a court somewhere in America to hear the arguments concerning the most secretive corrupt president in US history, have been awake for a long time. Meet the “birthers…” But they continue to have trouble waking anyone else up, including in the so-called halls of justice.

Cont….

Why Americans are asleep 4

”Is it a bankrupt dollar and a new international currency that will get their attention?– A North American Union? - An ACORN army on their doorstep? What will be the final straw that breaks the proverbial camel’s back?I don’t have the answer…

Frankly, I expected the people to revolt long before now. Clearly, I had underestimated the depth of apathy and tolerance for anti-American nonsense in the average modern American. But then, so did our nation’s founders, whom I’m certain are rolling over in their graves in disgust by now.

”The Silent Consent Continues:
Nobody knows for how long or at what expense, but so far, the people remain silent and Washington continues to profitably interpret that silence as broad-based consent. At this late date, I have no idea what will wake up the average American or how they might react once finally awake and ready to engage in self-governance. However, I am sure about two things…

When they finally do awake, they are going to be really angry… And, the anti-American left won’t let up until then…

Cont….

Why Americans are asleep 5

”The clock isn’t just ticking. Time has already run out as of the 2008 election. Washington DC is currently dismantling America, individual right by individual right, in an unprecedented massive multi-faceted assault on all things American. If you are not familiar with the Democratic Socialists of America or their legislative branch, the Congressional Progressive Caucus, I strongly suggest that you take time to learn them well. They are in charge of your nation. This is who the average American is up against and they are a very well funded and organized enemy of the state.

You will not be able to take your country back without putting these two organizations out of business. The longer you wait, the tougher the battle, the higher the price.

“Clearly, the organizational skills of the average American are equal only to that of the stumbling bumbling Republican Party. Fragmented, distracted, and disorganized, the people are no match for the leftist juggernaut running roughshod in DC. The people are lost, so they are losing… The most complex problems require the simplest of solutions. But the average American is so baffled by a daily diet of elitist B.S., that they cannot even see daylight… – When all else fails, return to the basics!

”Here’s to the average American waking up in time! - Good luck!

Anne PA
Great article ! Thank you!

Obamba was part
of the Senate that caused this economic mess.

Pistoll #5: We in PA are trying to get rid of RINO Specter in the 2010 primary.

Obama is blameless
for what he inherited. During his brief tenure in the Senate, he was busy campaigning for another office -- too busy to vote for anything. Prior to that, he was busy voting "present." No, he can't be held responsible for what went on prior to his coronation. He wasn't even around.

Egon: Your welcome. :-)

Pretty pathetic when other countries see what a fool Obozo is!

It is certainly funny seeing conservatives accuse other people of being in denial.

MacKenzie basically rehashes the arguments that didn't work in 2008. But he somehow expects them to have traction now. But it is Obama that is in denial. That's funny.

LoneRules

Your poll is not too surprising.

After almost 8 years of liberals and the MSM (but I repeat myself) telling us how awful everything was, it is not a wonder that such an anomaly could occur - no matter WHO is POTUS.

But I have faith that Obama will live up to my and many others expectations.

In other words - he'll replace Carter as one of the worst presidents ever elected.

Liberal press will never abandon Obama!
Six years from now they will still blame Bush for all problems - hell - when they're bored they still put out a "kick Nixon story".

The press may be saying layoff
The loyalists in the press might be saying layoff, but I don't think democrats and liberals are saying that. I don't know many who are actually supporting him. Even the crazy liberals have gone away from supporting Obama and gone to back to Bush bashing.

But Andrew is right. The Senate race would be a miracle if the Repubs picked up one vote. In the House, actual conservative repubs should make major gains (it is really tough for ACORN to steal a ton of votes in a non Presidential election).

Also when Nancy Pelosi is your spokesman you are in trouble. If the Republican Party is semi-competent they should do well. Unfortunately, they haven't proven they are. My guess is the money is going to go to protecting Arlen Spector and other non-conservatives that wear the R. Steele seems like a nice guy, but horrible strategist. A sure way to fail is to support Arlen Spector and his election is heating up. We should be able to see the Repub strategy through how they handle this one. Get on your phones, emails, and letters if they handle this wrong.

The RNC is a waste of time and money!
Why aren't these guys taking out mid-western newspaper ads stating that "cap and trade" will cost the region a million union manufacturing jobs. Evey time I get a request for a donation - I send it back with a note to send it to Iowa or NH so they can select another RINO presidential candidate.

Conservatives now look to Canada!
I thought you didn't care what other countries thought of us??? Especially those socialist, gay loving northerners. Wow, the far right has really turned into the far left...

Conspiracy theories, media against them, our reputation in the world, demonstrations, anger, silly bumper stickers, and instead of BDS it's ODS.

Matthew
Open your eyes - look what the libs have done to California - decent people are deserting your bankrupt state in droves. Gangs are running rampant in the major cities - people used to be envious of Californians - now they have nothing but pity. Your courts overrule the peoples choices. But live the dream - some day you'll be living on a commune - which was the dream of your movement founding fathers in the sixties.

matthew

Welcome to the world we conservatives endured these past few years.

My - how quick you libs are to cry foul.

The Obama Paradox
I don't really care what someone says they represent and/or wants for our country...and in Mr. Obama's case it is foolish to place any importance/significance in what he says he will do...because he has contradicted himself so many times it is impossible to keep up...he is being judged on what he does/accomplishes...and so far he is quickly (with the ever complicit narcissistic congress) pushing us towards socialism/Marxisim...and that is something about which I care. If successful it will take 30 to 40 years to undo, if it can be done at all. I'm sure those living during the fall of the Roman Empire never believed their lives, as they knew it, was coming to an end.

Mike, Primus, et al
The economic governor put on banks by FDR created an economic miracle for 60 years. Removed in 99 by "fiscal conservatives" it took less than 8 years for our economy to self destruct.

Despite Chicken Little observances of "gangs running wild in the streets", they are no more prevalent in CA than they are in TX or OH. But then again, maybe they are rampant in your states and that's why you need to clutch your guns.

What do I need to say about health care? The genetics of my family have kept me out of the health care system. If I am unfortunate enough to need an ER, my current insurance will cover it. If I can get the same insurance for less... National health insurance similar to medicare? Fine by me. My senior friends have had no problems getting the care they need when they need it and they universally endorse medicare.

When we return to the land of milk and honey I hope you "Christian Conservatives" don't choke too much.

Bleeding.......
Nice try. It's real funny that the "economic governor" that fiscal conservatives destroyed was so selective in it's economy destruction. I wonder why the ultra liberal biggies like Calif. & NY along with the union loving Michigan's are bankrupt - while us dumb "Christian Conservatives" are running our state on a surplus.

I'm truly sorry for whatever genetic problem you endure - but life isn't fair and you bleeding heart liberals will never make it fair. Lets face it - bottom line is that you are another loser looking for the government to take care of you. I know this message is a total waste of time because your reference to the great FDR tells me you can never understand what made this country great. Speaking of FDR - if Obama succeeded him there would be a move to prosecute all those involved in the illegal internment of Japanese Americans.

Time to admit I was naive
I recently thought revolution was the only answer, but that it could be a "tax" revolution. Getting enough Americans to simply not pay federal taxes. Now I realize that the feds would simply print enough money to keep operating as usual. Buying them time to arrest the "revolutionaries".

It's going to get ugly folks.

Obama wasn't present?
I seem to recall that Obama has been a senator for several years and that he was part of the "emergency" meetings at the white house to deal with the economy crash during the campaign last summer. How was he not present? He certainly didn't "just arrive".

Two comments
1. Mackenzie's comments about the stimulus package not taking effect for a year (and therefore having no effect on the current economy)reminds me of when I worked in the oil industry. Several times during Clinton's term, he opened the strategic petroleum reserve to help lower high gas prices. Every time, the conservatives I worked with claimed it wouldn't impact production, supply, or prices at all. And they had good numbers to back it up. Yet without fail, gas prices dropped each time, much to their chagrin. To me, the reason was obvious. The market was reacting to a perception, as markets almost always do. So what if overall supply didn't actually increase? The desired result (lower gas prices) were achieved. Similarly, so what if the stimulus package has actually stated taking effect? The market is reacting as desired in advance of the stimulus SIMPLY BECAUSE IT KNOWS IT IS COMING. That's how markets work. Bring out all the numbers and facts you like about how it shouldn't work that way, but markets and investments are driven by the decisions of people, not computer programs and mathematical equations.

2. Mike: regarding your comment about FDR and internment of the Japanese Americans, I love FDR, I think he was a great president, but I think he was dead wrong in that case.

If the Fed Govt observed its limits
WE would have 50 states able to each make up their own rules about their economies, their laws, their fair & equitable treatment of their citizens.

One or more of them could chose to live under a communist type system. Some could choose to embrace capitalism and the free market. Some could choose to leave the Republic.

It is unconstitutional, and therefore unlawful, for anyone at the federal level to force their will upon the states. The states voluntarily agreed to join the union. If they leave, which I believe they have the right to, then the U.S. Supreme Court cannot dictate to them. They, and Washington are powerless and have no authority over them.

Based on the distinct likelyhood that things will only get worse in the next election, and based on my belief that a tax revolt will not succeed - My great hope lies in states severing their agreement to be a member of the voluntary membership of the United States of America.

I am so thankful for what the USA and my fellow citizens had built. A place once called the land of the free and the home of the brave.

You that love what it is becomming, fine. May peace be with you. Don't make us enemies and let us who love liberty go in peace.

Freedom is the only possible solution. Freedom for the people who disagree with each other to advance their agendas at the state level.

Lib at Heart
You didn't grasp what the conservatives you worked with were saying. Opening up the SOR doesn't impact production, temporarily increases suppy, and temporarily decreases prices due entirely to the temporarily increased supply.

The "chagrin" you noticed was that they were smart enough to know that if we did not PERMANENTLY increase ACTUAL production, we would one day be looking at $5.00 a gallon gas for no reason other than our own foolish politics.

The other little key difference is that you are trying to equate a physical commodity (oil) with a piece of paper with $ signs inked onto it. The perception of increased supply of dollars is that their VALUE is decreasing. The value of oil did not decrease, its price did.

Fuzzy
I think the states' theoretical right to secede was lost in a war about 150 years ago.

Lib at Heart
I know that many agree with you on that one.
Since there is disagreement in how we citizens wish to be governed, states rights are the only way.

Well, not the only way, but the one other way I can think of would be bloody. I'd prefer not to have it come to that.

Lib at Heart
A question - do you have the right to renounce your citizenship?

Lib at Heart...
My point regarding FDR's internment of Japanese Americans was to illustrate that Presidents do what they have to at time of war. Bush's admin should not be second guessed for their interrogation of terrorists. Anyone capable of an once of logical thought can see the dangers in this Obama precedent. Of course he is engaging in the old magician's ploy of misdirection to distract from what he's doing to the country. Based on the ignorance of a large percentage of Obama voters - he probably will get away with it.

Fuzzy logic
Not to get too technical here, but in fact, opening SOR did nothing to increase supply of gasoline, as the countries refineries were all operating at capacity. In fact, the oil companies had had a SURPLUS of crude oil at the time. Releasing more crude oil from SOR did not increase the production of gasoline one bit. And while the price of gas is tied to the price of crude oil somewhat, the supply and demand market would dictate that the final price of gasoline is relate to it's supply, rather than the supply of its raw material.

Similarly, you may believe that the value of the dollar is decreasing, but many people don't, and thus the market reacts accordingly.

State's rights and citizenship
Fuzzy, one more comment before I go back to work. Yes, I beleive that people have the right to renounce citizenship. And, although I wasn't clear about it, I think states SHOULD have the right to secede. I just was commenting that I believe that as a practical matter, that right was lost long ago.

Thanks Lib
for clarifying your view.

Gotta run.

Have a good day all.

So far
the only Obama success I see is killing 3 teenagers

Will causing laughter help?

Obama is acting the fool and bringing laughter to the whole world.

Certainly the World will have to like America for raising their spirits with laughter.

Kind of makes me wonder where the Black Activists are who took Rochester off TV because they though he injured "The Black Image"?

Rochester was the "Straight Man", Jack Benny played the fool!
Who is the Straight Man in Obama's comedy act?
It is an act, isn't it?
http://politicalderby.com/2009/04/02/dont-mess-with-the-tel eprompter/

Thanks. Anne!
That is a great article from Canada Free Press. Many here cannot see the forest for the trees.

Yeah total denial
Yeah, his 64% is total denial. Also, the highest right track wrong track numbers in four year is total denial. Republicans thinking attacking a popular president is the way to get back into the majority? Now that a strategy.

Good Read
Your article hit me like this. Talking to those who support Obama is like talking to an Islamic/Muslim Terrorist. Look fellows you just can't go around blowing up NY and DC. That's just not nice, so please stop. Sure, my people will get back with your people after we take Pakistan. Say man President Obama has America on a road to hell. Sure, my people will get back with your people as soon as we meet with Nancy Pelosi, Harry Reid, Janet Napolitano, and John McCain.

No one is above the Law
Pres Obama says no one is above the LAW. How come Geithner, Daschle, Sebelius, Rangle and others are not in JAIL foe TAX EVASION?

Hmmmmmmmmmm HYPOCRISY ????????????
