Biden Selection May Help McCain Make Obama the Issue

Was the Copenhagen Global Warming Summit Walk-Out a Win for the U.S.?

Isn’t the Joe Biden nomination wonderful? A working-class kind of guy who has risen to chairman of the Senate’s Judiciary and Foreign Relations committees?

Wonderful for John McCain and conservatives and Republicans.

But Biden is so moderate, centrist, mainstream, middle-of-the-road.

Wrong. Last year the National Journal, a moderately liberal enterprise, named Barack Obama the Senate’s No. 1 leftie senator, Ted Kennedy No. 2, and Biden No. 3.

Surely it’s important that he has so much experience — six terms as a U.S. Senator, compared with Obama’s four undistinguished years out of the Illinois legislature. And in the Senate club he is so, you know, popular.

Maybe. And so much for Obama’s “change” and “outsider” mantras. Biden is the paradigmatic Washington insider — a practitioner of the same ol’ inside-the-Beltway same-ol’. What’s more, he exudes an engaging cluelessness. He comes right out of central casting as perhaps the worst possible national candidate for anything.

Isn’t he strong on foreign policy and the courts — and thus a counterpoise to Obama’s weaknesses?

On foreign and national-security policy, let’s see what the experience of Biden brings to the ticket. In 1991, he voted against the war to oust Saddam Hussein from Kuwait. In 2002, he voted for the resolution authorizing the 2003 invasion of Iraq (which Obama says he would have voted against). Yet both he and Obama opposed the surge and refuse to acknowledge that it has worked. Oh, and both oppose offshore drilling to help achieve energy independence.

And the courts?

Both voted against John Roberts and Samuel Alito. Obama says that as president, he never would have named Justices Clarence Thomas (terming him inexperienced and insufficiently intelligent) and Antonin Scalia. Biden voted against confirming both Thomas and (earlier) Robert Bork. Not a whole lot of difference between Obama and Biden there.

Still, look at how Biden, from Scranton blue-collar origins, has ascended the heights.

If Obama had wanted someone with ties to Pennsylvania’s small-town voters, whom Obama disdained as “clinging to guns and religion” because they are “bitter,” he might have picked the senator who won them in the Pennsylvania primary, Hillary Clinton — whose father hailed from Scranton.

Biden is an embellisher of his own record and a serial plagiarist. At the Syracuse College of Law, he plagiarized a law-review article for a paper. Campaigning for the 1988 Democratic presidential nomination, he plagiarized a speech by British Labor Party leader Neil Kinnock — and shortly thereafter withdrew.

He nevertheless strikes me as a thinker, a very serious person.

He’s a joke, a barrel of gaffes, a complicater of even the simplest issue, a gas bag who suffers from logorrhea — diarrhea of the mouth.

You can’t be serious.

On the contrary. Try on these Biden comments for idiocy, offensiveness, and undermining one’s own running-mate:

This year, in a TV interview: “Obama is not ready to be president.”

Early 2007, announcing his presidential campaign — discussing Obama: “I mean, you got the first mainstream African-American who is articulate and bright and clean and a nice-looking guy.”

Last summer: “(In Delaware,) you cannot go into a 7-Eleven or a Dunkin’ Donuts unless you have a slight Indian accent.”

Early in his 1988 presidential campaign, responding to a man identified only as “Frank” inquiring about discrepancies in Biden’s law-school record: “I think I have a much higher IQ than you do.”

A year ago, discussing AIDS before an African-American audience: “I spent last summer going through the black sections of my town holding rallies in parks trying to get black men to understand it’s not unmanly to wear a condom. Getting women to understand they can say no. Getting people in the position where testing matters. I got tested for AIDS. I know Barack got tested for AIDS. There’s no shame in being tested for AIDS.”

During a March 2001, hearing on John Bolton’s nomination as undersecretary of State for arms control: “My problem with you, over the years, has been you’re too competent. I mean, I would rather you be stupid and not very effective.”

Withdrawing from the nomination race early this year after garnering less than 1 percent of the vote in the Iowa caucuses — to reporters: “This is about celebrity. You’ve never given any of us a chance. You know in your heart I’m more qualified than any of these guys up top.”

Aug. 23, introducing Barack Obama: “. . . a man I’m proud to call my friend, a man who will be the next president of the United States — Barack America.”

Evidently you’re not too pleased with the Biden selection.

It’s a head-shaker. Think about it. The Obama-Biden ticket consists of Tweedledum and Tweedledee Senate liberals straining to depict John McCain as but a clone of President Bush. That only can help McCain make the (winning) case that this campaign is not principally about George Bush — whose name of course will be absent from the November ballot — but Barack Obama.

When Hillary showed the world she could
give good speech, she obliterated Obama, simply by standing up for him. As she said, that is all he has ever done is give good speech. Now she is the Convention Mistress. No matter what Bro O does, it won't break her record. In praising him she showed him up and both her and Bill knew it would work. It just has not clicked yet.

Let's keep McCain the issue!

The National GOP goes "California"!

Nothing else matters. The GOP has totally caved in on any claim to be anything other than a "moderate" wing of the Democrats.

Anyone who's not a flaming liberal should be outraged, and demand an open convention next week.

BIDEN AND BO: BIRDS OF A FEATHER

Biden, a gift to McCain that keeps on giving.

Apollo Spams
Here he goes again -- spamming every thread with the same post.

Does he get paid by the word?

Obama bin-Biden offers
two of the three most liberal Senators in the US. Now the Dins. have two liars and frauds on the ticket.

Reps. still offer the basics of free trade, strong foreign policy, personal responsibility, low taxation, and less government manipulation of the nation through social legislation.

GOPer's didn't keep to the minimal spending the non-expansion of gov't under Bush,

but they have kept the US from further terror attacks, helpded establish a democracy in the center of the Middle East, removed a potential Hitler from power, and re-discovered that our own energy production is the best solution to paying thugs and dictators who hate us for $700 billions dollars' worth of oil annually.

But McCain is a budget hawk, never voted for a tax hike, never sponsored an earmark, and vows vetoing of spending bills with earmarks in them. For that promise (and history) alone, he is the better candidate and next president of the US.

Obama=PUPPET OF DNC/MARXISTS
The only thing to know about Obama for the moment is this: He is an Empty Suit, With A Very Questionable Backgroud and When It does get Questioned, the MSM and their Propaganda Machine, make sure it is not reported on. Believe nothing you hear on the MSM News or other programs concerning politics.

Obama was Hand Picked By The DNC, their Backers who are every Radical Organization in America, and especially the Labor Unions and Radical Environmentalists, and for Communists the world over.

They know Obama does not possess the Knowledge, Intellect, nor experience in Domestic or International Affairs, beyond Marxist/Mob Chicago style politics. They also know Obama is a Narcissist who loves to see his reflection in the mirror and especially on TV.

So, the DNC, in selecting Obama knew that they had a Know-Nothing Narcissist, who would Read Anything They Put on A Teleprompter, with no regard for what he says as long as he is getting to perform in front of a camera.

They know that if were to become President, that he would support anything he Was Told To Support and would never read any proposals, as he could not understand them even if he read them to begin with.

The Perfect Puppet is Obama. And He Who Pulls The Strings Of the Puppet is Called The Puppet Master. The Puppet Masters of Obama are Liberal Democrat Congressmen and women who promote their perversion agenda, Marxists from Labor Unions, such as the National Association of Mis-Educators (NAE), Abortion Advocates, and every Socialist Nation in the United Nations.
With Obama as President, your freedoms and rights would be vastly curtailed almost immediately, as the Liberal Congress would waste no time in getting every Radical Piece of Legislation passed as soon as is possible, before Americans could even tell what was going on.

This is the most critical election in the History of Our Country.

demoncrats
Maybe, just maybe Obama picked Biden because of Biden's attorney general son in Illinois.. It is rumored that Biden's son was instrumental in cutting off Larry Sinclair's social security and his arrest... Larry is one of the people from Obama's shady past returned to haunt him.
Personally I think the entire bunch of democrat politicans need investigated and replaced before they finsih the job of totally destroying America

How does Biden help Obama?
He's 66 years old, so if Obama were to die in office (not likely from natural causes given he's about 12 years old), we'd be stuck with an older man as President, so there goes that whole argument about McCain's age. He has experience in the Senate. But, he's left a track record. Americans for Democratic Actions gives Biden a 72 percent approval rating while the American Conservative Union gives him a 13 percent lifetime rating. According to the Nat'l Journal, Biden's lifetime average "liberal" rating is 77.5 percent, which makes him a centrist in the Dem Party, or an extreme liberal to anyone not a Democrat. The ACLU gives him an 86 percent lifetime schore (91 percent for the current session of Congress. According to teh Almanac of American Politics, Biden rations 80% liberal on economic, 78% on social issues, and 71% on foreign policy.

This is a balanced ticket? In what universe? Lefty-loony central????

Ditto Ruth in Ohio
The DNC convention in Denver looked like America's Most Wanted. I would not be surprised to see some of these faces on John Walsh's program.

You had Don Siegleman, former governor of Alabama, fresh out of Federal Prison on Bond For Taking Bribes and Racketeering charges while governor of Alabama. Wonder how many strings his Liberal Democrat Buddies in Congress and the Justice Department pulled to get him a bond set from the 11th Circuit Court Of Appeals, while he awaits a new trial. He gave a speech at the convention, and I am sure was seated as A Super Delegate.

Then, you had that Scoundrel, Mayor Negan, of New Orleans who is under investigation, and soon to be indicted for Fraud, Theft, and Corruption in ripping off millions of dollars of FEMA money intended to rebuild devastated neighborhoods in his beloved "Chocolate City." (Negan's term, not mine, so don't none of you Libs out there jump the gun and try playing the tired old Race Card on me.)

Then, you had the Mayor of Detroit, who is out of jail on bond for Assault. I am sure the list is larger than this, but my 2000 characters is coming close to an end. And, how about Marion Crackhead Barry, mayor of Our Nations Capital City. What a Party. And the DNC had Denver Suspend Drug Laws During the Convention. They knew that Most of their Party Out there were a bunch of Druggies. Wouldn't want any Super Delegates being arrested during the convention, now would we???
