Do you feel the leaked information from a global warming alarmist organization is meaningful?

WASHINGTON, D.C. -- Federal Reserve Chairman Ben Bernanke has appealed to Senate Democratic leaders to confirm President Bush's long-pending nominations to fill two empty chairs as Fed governors, enabling a fully staffed central bank to handle the current financial crisis. He did not receive a favorable response from Sen. Christopher Dodd, Senate Banking Committee chairman.

Dodd omitted Fed nominees from President Bush's appointments that his committee considered this week. Sen. Richard Shelby, Banking's ranking Republican, who usually works well with Dodd, has been ignored in requesting Fed confirmations. "I'm not going to sit back and allow for 14-year appointments of people who don't seem to understand how important it is the Fed do its job," Dodd said on CNBC June 5.

Actually, banker Elizabeth Duke would serve four years and banker Larry Klane two years. A third nominee, Randall Kroszner, continues on the board while awaiting confirmation to a full 14-year term. Bush has not yet named anyone for a new vacancy, so three of seven seats on the Fed's Board of Governors are empty, with an imbalance of economists over bankers.

GOP MILQUETOAST

Senate Republican Leader Mitch McConnell cancelled Wednesday's long-delayed consideration by the Senate Republican Conference of earmark reforms after several senators asserted they were "uncomfortable" voting on them.

Those initiatives by the Republican Fiscal Reform Working Group are called "milquetoast" by Republican reformers who would like to outlaw earmarks. The group was dominated by Sen. Thad Cochran of Mississippi, who tops the Senate in earmarks. Sen. Tom Coburn of Oklahoma, a leading anti-earmark reformer, is also a member of the working group but was outvoted.

McConnell said the proposals will be considered by the conference after the Fourth of July recess.

MCCAIN AND OIL

West Texas Republican leaders were upset when Sen. John McCain at the last minute canceled a June 16 fundraiser in Midland, Texas, (that had collected $1.5 million) because it was being held in the home of oilman Clayton Williams.

McCain spokesman Brian Rogers said McCain was "unaware" of "incredibly offensive remarks" made by Williams in his unsuccessful 1990 race for governor of Texas. Sue Brannon, Midland County Republican chairman, said the event was scrubbed because of a "personal conflict" by McCain.

Brannon said the fundraiser would be rescheduled at the Hilton Midland Plaza, but Texas Republican sources called it a cancellation by party activists who are lukewarm about McCain. They have been unhappy about McCain's opposition to oil drilling in ANWR (Arctic Natural Wildlife Refuge). Continued...

Delay Asked That? Why Now?
Gee, Thom (spelled with a silent "h" like the old shoe ad). Why were you silent many years ago when we little people knew about the NAU and when you might have made a difference when you were foraging around in Congress for personal money? Let's see, what role did you have in Congress, lackey for lobbyists? .....while Rome burns.

Federal Reserve
Most don't realize that the Federal Reserve is not a part of the Federal Government. This agency is a group of Intenational Bankers. They were given complete control of our money in 1931 By Franklin D. Roosevelt when America was finnancially destitute. Members of the country of Great Brittain, such as The Rothchilds and others actually took advantage of America when she was down.
The Fed. controls the interest rates for our country, we do not. The United States should rid itself of this bunch of money hungry demigods and go back to controlling its own money.

Rondak on creation of Fed Reserve
Roosevelt?

Fed Reserve was approved by Woodrow Wilson in 1913 - of which he is to have later said he feared he had sold his country out....and he was right. Democracy, indeed. This country is ruled by the rich.

The last sentence
of this article should make the hair on the back of neck stand up! If it doesn't,think what that would mean to our way of life as we know it. Folks the left is creeping ever closer to calling the motives of their for what they are. Marxis. The substitute words, universal, progressive, nationalized, all will have the true meaning displayed without apologies.
Delaying the appointment of these judges is wrong in the first place, and secondly the ones they hope to appoint will further their own party's agenda instead of the rule of law.

Maggie
For goodness sake. It's already happened, and Delay was an active part of the event for years. Did he oppose NAFTA, Favored Nations for China, eliminate budget deficits so we wouldn't be borrowing trillions from international banks to finance our Federal deficit spending. Of course not. Maggie, that horse left the barn. You can no longer put it back than you can command the tide not to rise. Entire segments of products, major defense systems, and the like, are now in part or totally made overseas. 20 years ago we imported 35% of our oil, now its 65%. You can't operate many of the cars you drive without depending on foreign nations - because that's where all their parts are made. We can't even build the oil rigs we need to drill in the US anymore, nor most of the ships people travel on, or the like.

It's not a matter of become global - we already are. We couldn't even fight the Iraq War until Bush went O/S in 03 and got the bankers to agree to continue buying our debt - which some nations had threatened not to do. Without that, Iraq was history.

Why is it so many just keep preaching this mantra over and over again. We started exporting our sovreignity and importing our dependency in the mid-90's. 10 years ago our highest trade deficit was $100 billion, today it's $800 billion. We imported over $2.2 Trillion in goods last year (trillions). Every fortune 500 company that sells a product has significant elements overseas. Investment has also gone global. American money flows into interntional stock markets, just as international money owns large pieces of everything you think is American.

Along with this, you have uncontrolled immigration across our borders. Every year, another million or more come on in. That's gone on for decades.

Now just who is going to stop this? McCain, Obama? You've got to be kidding.

It's over. Got it?

Obama on success in America
Obama's Top Ten Rules to Live by

10) Comprehensive means the absence of opposition to Democrats.

9) Compassion without coercion is useless.

8) Never ask when you can use the government to take.

7) If a government program fails, repeat.

6) A liberal without guilt is no liberal at all.

5) Global Warming yields more cash than pointing a gun.

4) Moral choice is a complex personal issue that is better defined by focus groups.

3) To each according to his ability to work the system.

2) Only fools say what they really believe.

1) Never cross Michelle Obama.

A More Divided Congress
The behavior of the Democrat majority will continue to make Congress a more divided item. Back when Ruth Bader Ginsburg was confirmed, the Republicans let Bill Clinton have her nomination because she was nominated by him. The behavior on not releasing Bush nominees from Democrat controlled committees will be paid back.

Those of you who claim the Republicans started the partisanship in Congress need to look at our country. We have lurched leftward over the last 30 years despite having a Republican Congress for 20 years. This is because the only compromise possible is always leftward. And that then becomes the new base position from which the Democrats want further compromise. The result is a movement leftward. Take for example the debate over Medicare drug coverage. Thirty years ago Republicans of ALL persuasions would have stood up and shouted "NO!!!" at the top of their lungs. The compromise several years ago was on a public/private system for which Goldwater or Reagan Republicans would never have voted.

I predict that all four of these positions will be left open for the next President to fill. If that President is Obama, George Soros will be the person who vets all four of them.

All illegal aliens. Yes. And they have the good decency to put their welcome signs in spanish. How nice. Got to go back and clean the apt. I hope spanish people don't stare at me with their shirts off drinking beer. Ususally they do at this time. Make a fast exit.

But this is Bush's new America? Am I right? After the housing market debacle these illegals straddle around the apartment in a daze. We are one big North American community. I can't wait to get my North American Union drivers license?

Bush's melting pot.....

Rondak,
FDR wasn't elected until 1932 and became Prez in 1933, in 1931 he was a private citizen, how could he start the FED??
